I flew into Dallas last minute and was craving good Texas Mexican food. A friend of mine recommend Mi Cocina in Highland Park. Upon arrival the hostess was very friendly and accommodating. My mother and I sat outside and our server Geo greeted us immediately. He gave great recommendations for food and everything tasted amazing. As a former New York restaurant owner I must admit the level of service and hospitality Geo gave us was 5 star level! He s the type of employee you want to train all of your waitstaff! I will definitely come back here next time I m in the city! Thank Geo for such a wonderful experience!

My friend told me we had to go to Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village, and it was a perfect spot for me and my girls ! This place was busy but definitely worth the wait. As it was my first time there our server Luis A. was wonderful and quick on his feet. I didn t know what to get to drink or eat but he suggested the perfect meal, a Mambo Taxi with Poblano Enchiladas! Great food/ drinks and amazing service. I had such a great time with my girls and will definitely be coming back.

My first and last experience dining in this restaurant was one of the worst considering the location where this restaurante operates, next to highly esteemed brands, you would expect world class service right..? Well no, when arriving with in the hours of operations of the restaurant you are expected to be served just at any other, however the arrival of me and my friends were met with a physically annoyed host, and a server that at that at the end of our meal stated in a rude and annoyed way to next time come earlier as in to say that we where somehow inconveniencing him. Least to mention the impression that was left from our out of town friends. I truly hope this issue is resolved with the server and host personnel, management was advised on site of this issue and hope is corrected. I will not be dinning nor recommending this restaurant to anyone.

I usually don t write reviews, but this one deserves it. We went tonight to mi cocina-highland park with friends, we had people visiting us from Austin and they got to the restaurant around 10.20pm the restaurant does close at 11pm so we started ordering food and drinks and the restaurant was still full all was good, the drinks, atmosphere.. we had a nice time however when we were leaving the table the server told us come earlier next time in a very rude tone we were shocked the restaurant closed at 11 we were gone at 11:20 just like some other customers you don t tell your customers something like that specially when they were nice to you and tipped you over 20% I reported this to the manager on my way out when I was leaving I told the hostess bye, thank you since she had nothing to do with the bad experience with our server at the end she totally ignored us im just shocked at how rude they were, only the bussers and manager were nice and polite with us. Bad bad experience

Luis was amazing as our wait staff. The appetizer, Shrimp wrapped in bacon with jalapeño a side of pablano and a spicy sauce was a big hit with my friends from Nevada. The entree 57 is huge so consider sharing! I had the Rico salad with Chicken and the chicken was so very freshly cooked, very soft and juicy. I always use the salsa as a dressing =).

You know you are in a great place when you see the same staff there over the years. Francisco is the best waiter there is and I request that he wait on me and my party every time I go eat there. He has become a dear friend and he is on top of providing you the best dining experience possible no matter how packed the facility is. I do not normally write reviews online unless it warrants one, and over the many years I have dined there I feel that I need to commend Francisco and Mia s for their excellent service and cuisine! Mi Cocina is always a good place to go. Their guacamole is pretty good. This location, however, suffers from their high number of visitors. Its not only Mi Cocina but all eating places in Highland Park Village are in the same boat. Too many people, too long wait or lines. Not worth the hassle in that High Luxury mall when you can go to any other place.

I ordered the Luanns meal and Mambo Taxi! So delicious on both. The Luanns came with a lot of food and was left full and very satisfied. I love the atmosphere. If you dont like a lot of background noise / loud people talking over you I suggest just go at an earlier time in the afternoon. Place gets pretty busy, but our experience we only had to wait a minute while they cleaned us off a table. Excellent service, waters were always filled and beer was always full. Kid-friendliness: It was VERY kid friendly. There was a table next to us with 5 little ones. I assume their parents were the table next to them but boy did they make a mess! The workers seemed very patient with them. Its always us just wishing the parents taught their children manners. But other than that we witnessed a table of children get the same treatment we got. Bad kicked in when my wife ordered a virgin majito (Star restaurant and Legacy restaurant no prob), waiter dismissed as not possible, my son went elsewhere to request the drink... Got rebuffed, (against our policy was said.... Oh my goodness. We pressed on, ordered drinks, one of which was a Margherita... And some pepper and salt for the table (chips/salsa/queso etc). Margherita tasted like kerosine.... Was very weird... We each had a sip and it was weird.... After 20 years we know how amazing Margheritas taste at any Mi Cocinas.... Our drinks guy meanwhile did not bring pepper and salt - passing our table multiple times.... We mention the awful Margherita to our waiter.... And he argued.... We left, we will never return to this restaurant... We were nice the whole time never treating anyone unkindly.... You lost 20 year+ customers in a series of really bad decisions.... The Star and Legacy locations will see us... But theres something awful in the wait staff culture at Highland Park.

Mama s chicken tacos were delicious with a nice avocado salad. They re famous margaritas are dangerous, two is the limit. Fajitas presentation was impressive. Mi Cocina always delivers, solid Tex-Mex when you re in the mood.
