Love the fries here a lot of TV s which is great to watch sports. Wings are solid too, love the S&A sauce. Only thing is I m not too much of a fan of the mason jar glasses for beer, would prefer a normal pint glass. Also wish Coors Light was on tap. Overall great place 5 stars.

Service was good and atmosphere were great. I definitely enjoyed being there. The drinks were nice too. My only complaint was my food. I ordered the tenders and fries (never got the fries) what came out is different than what was expected. They were strips of strips... My main issue with it was, you can get them dipped in a sauce, I got mine dipped lemon pepper. It was SOOOOO salty. I ended up not being able to finish the plate. Which is unheard of for me. Overall, I would give them a other chance.

5 star service from the bar staff. Not sure if they are on the payroll but the 6-7 young gentlemen that took over the TouchTunes were incredible. Played hit after hit - if they aren t on the payroll, they should be. Highly recommend bar

Decided to visit Dallas for the first time, we looked up restaurants near us and we came across this gem. Karina was our bartender, she was fantastic. We came back at the end of our trip before heading home, lucky us Karina was working. Thanks for the great times, I definitely recommend this place if you want great service and a chill environment.

Service was TERRIBLE!! Bartender without the glasses was extremely rude and showed no attention. He was serving people around us and my party tried to get his attention and he was ignoring us on purpose after making eye contact with him. Will not recommend if you are a minority. I noticed how he was servicing and treating people of color. Very distasteful and will not be coming back. He wore a grey shirt and even said he can go somewhere else as in to help another guest besides the party I was with. My response was actually we will go somewhere else and left.

We live in the neighborhood and have given this place a try on three occasions now...we really wanted to love it. The chicken wings (sweet chili sauce) are really good, but the drinks are weak (had to order an extra shot to pour in each drink we ordered) and the service is slow (even when this place is pretty much empty). Tends to be rowdy during PPVs and college game days, but if thats your vibe, then its a perfect bar for you.

Honestly these are the weakest drinking I ve ever had in Dallas. Normally when I go to bars and order a vodka soda I wince at every sip. But I cannot taste a drop of vodka in either of my drinks. The service is extremely slow and it s only Thursday night. My friends waited 30 plus minutes for one beer. Would not recommend.

Nodding Donkey has it all -- elevated pub food, great happy hour, amazing neighborhood location and friendly service! I love the sliced BBQ sandwich and Donkey Balls. During good weather, the bar completely opens up and flows into the historic State Thomas neighborhood. Bar seating is my favorite with servers that quickly become your friend -- especially Ronda, Marina, Aaron and Gabe! And nobody beats the Donkey for watching sports - go Cubs!

Don t bother coming here on trivia night unless you want to run the risk of getting told off by your waitress (twice in a night) for no reason. She scolded us for not ordering enough after we ordered 2 appetizers, 1 2 drinks, 4 tacos, fries, and a quesadilla that she never got to us she had nothing to say to the tables around us that had ordered less per person. She complained about us using gift cards to pay (the gift cards we won at The Nodding Donkey s trivia night). She told us it wasn t her job to give us water when we kindly asked for water refills. We were sitting at the circular table in the corner to the right after entering. This is coming from someone who has come here for trivia for over a year and had previously recommended the place to others.

My friends and I have come to The Nodding Donkey almost every Tuesday night for an entire year to enjoy the trivia. Weve had a great time, and usually order between $50-$70 worth of food/drinks between us. At our most recent visit, a waitress yelled at our group, claiming we were taking up her biggest table and not spending enough. It was a terrible experience, and we will not be returning following her outburst. We were seated at a circular table in one of the corners of the restaurant on a Tuesday night

Watched game #1 of the World Series, our server Kaitlin was always checking on us for the several hours we were there we ordered several things off the menu, all exceptional which is saying something with having a packed house for the game. We ordered the lemon pepper wings three times, they were that GOOD . Wish I could duplicate them at home. Smoked and lightly fried?

I asked the bartender for recommendations before I left, and I think you should ask for below. I went midday on a Friday to this bar after an early morning shift at work. I decided to review this bar on a last minute hunch it would be decent. The lunch crowd was receptive and friendly. Its sports bar vibe couldnt be helped, since the garage door was down I knew it wasnt a busy time. I ordered the special of the day on the recommendation of the bartender. They were chicken fingers fried to expectation. I received a nice helping of tenders, so I asked for some to go. I didnt over eat so it was simple. So before I left I asked the bartender for the one thing she has to tell folks about and she said the purple nurple and donkey kick are the best drinks on the menu. Take it from an expert. Exactly!

Best sports bar food I ve had! The bbq tacos (pork and brisket) were fantastic and full of flavor. Also enjoyed the guacamole. The environment was great for a fall TX evening with food and football. It is a loud and lively place so not a place for a quiet dinner and conversation. I really licked that they played the audio from the game. One advice is when a server comes, order something, it may be a little while before you see them again.

Really nice down to earth bar. Very casual and nice atmosphere. We didnt stay long the service was a bit slow, and it wasnt very busy. We got there 30 minutes before the kitchen closed, hoping to order food, not enough attention to our table, and the 4 of us were ready for drinks. We only ordered one round because we waited for the first a while, and then drinks were empty for a long time. We just paid our check and left. The place seems nice but would be better if the service was faster. I might give it another chance because I am not sure about the lack of service. Hopefully, next time is better.

Mix drinks are generally pretty poorly made. This place also does not allow you to order pick up over the phone, directs you to their website if you call, and then they want a green fee for takeout. They pay servers $2.50/hr. Im sure the kitchen staff is equally underpaid. If you look at menu prices, ratings, and foot traffic it isnt hard to see that this company makes more than enough money to pay their employees a fair wage and give them benefits. I will not support this business again until they start taking care of the employees that actually break a sweat. It doesnt matter what an employee collects in tips, they earn that extra money. You have an obligation as an employer to take care of your employees. Stingy jackass would be a better title for this business

Fantastic place to visit for happy hour after work or anytime just to enjoy a night out. We only had the wings and expected typical bar wings but were very pleasantly surprised. The wings are smoked and grilled, i believe, and the flavor blew me away. I could easily eat them plain with no sauce and just enjoy the smoked flavor. Highly recommend and will be back.

This place was amazing! Found it by just doing a local search while we were in the area. Very cute area of town and this was the neighborhood bar and grill. Everything we had was outstanding. We came in as a large party since we all were here for the Nationals qualifiers for Women s club volleyball. Lee took care of everyone (40 ppl) and did not skip a beat! Some of the best wings and chicken fingers I have ever had. Would highly recommend! Keep in mind that during the week M-F it is 21+ only after 10pm. Weekends are 21+ only I believe, but I would give them a call to be sure.

BAD SERVICE AT THE BAR!!!!! The bartender was super RUDE and when I ordered an Old fashion, he gave me something completely different. He made the drink with soda when it s not supposed to have that, and when I told him that the drink was too bitter, he went on to pour on grenadier. I come here almost once a week. They play all the games but play the sound for the cowboys games. The menu is definitely good and the service is extremely fast. As per usual with uptown you can park on the street but they dont have a designated lot. Bring a coat in the winter because the indoor/outdoor situation can be cold.

My only issue is that every time my friends and I go here and pay with a card we have a very large pending payment on our account for a week even AFTER the money for the actual bill has been deducted. Not sure why your system does this but it s really annoying. Ends up falling off but there has to be a way to not require this to happen. No one is carrying cash anymore.

Been here a few times but came this Saturday to bring some out of town friends to brunch. We had to switch tables to accommodate everyone and our original server was beyond rude and disrespectful, but this was even before we decided to move and was rude when we asked questions about the menu. Have been here before and had phenomenal service so not sure who peed in this guys cheerios this morning. Our new server (didn t catch her name) was super kind and attentive, but really didn t appreciate the man server during Saturday brunch hour who was disrespectful to my friends and I especially considering we are all together to celebrate the loss of our young friend.

Terrible bar staff. Came in for a KU game and left at half because they all appeared to hate their lives and didnt want to be there. Switched up the menu to save some dollars. Funny, won t be getting anymore of mine.

Went in for happy hour for a beer on a Friday afternoon at3pm..sat down inside across from bar. Waited 15 minutes and no acknowledgement or service from anyone. Bad experience. I was wearing a polo shirt and dress slacks. So i was presentable. Wont be going back.
