UPDATE! GLASS IN DOORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED! The catfish is so good! The staff is always so amazing and friendly. I hope they add some lighting outside and a new sign now that it s getting darker earlier and the door on the side that I usually enter through has been boarded up for a few months now making it look like it s under construction. With good food and good staff, do better on the outside!

I went with a couple of friends to watch the Dallas Mavericks playoffs last night and had to relocate at halftime because they were closing. How can a bar call itself GameDay, advertise itself as a sports bar, have several Mavericks signs on the walls and close before the hometown team playoff game is over? Regular season I wouldnt be as bothered, but playoffs?? Today I see the stated hours say they close at 10, yesterday I couldnt imagine needing to check, but this still does not make sense to my brain. There were other paying customers, some who showed up during the game and Id imagine for the game. My friend and I liked our food and the server was fine, but he also didnt understand the logic behind the hours.

We ordered dinner through door dash (about $70 worth of food). We live .4 miles from the restaurant and all the food was cold. 3 burgers tots and fries. The kids mac and cheese looked old and also cold. Not the experience we are used to from Jakes.

1st time in since becoming Jakes. Our server, Magen, was awesome. We ordered Jakes special burger and it was great, couldve been split for 2 people. Double meat and well done. Chips and salsa also good. We shared the Chili Frito pie, was very good!! We also ordered sweet potatoes and were surprised that they had sugar and served with a side of cinnamon icing. We were not advised of this, but we ate them as a dessert, a good surprise We will be back.

I am giving no stars for no class, no respect for loyal customers, and no business sense. Tonight my alumni group came for our weekly game watch, as we have the past 8 weeks, decorated our area, moved tables together, placed signs and ordered food and drinks. About 10 minutes into our game, the sound suddenly was switched to another broadcast, a pregame show, as a matter fact. The manager and assistant manager on duty were extremely rude and disrespectful to us when we asked why we had no sound. Some of our group had traveled over 30 miles to attend this game watch and we had to watch our game with another one blaring, which is more difficult that it might seem. We all eventually left in disgust and will never return. They just lost 15+ loyal customers. We had been promoting Jakes on social media and on a weekly email goes out to over 300 alumni advertising our game watch at this location, and this is how we were treated. They could have contacted us ahead of time to tell us they would not be playing the sound for our game. The manager could have used common sense and courtesy to come over and explain why they were going to turn off the sound, but they didnt. This is not a criticism of the wait staff or cooks. They always do an amazing job with fast and friendly service.

I love Jakes and while this location has a much broader menu, larger space and agree the staff are incredible... the burgers are just not the same. My favorite #12 (from old Jakes) is somehow made differently...either it is the chili or BBQ sauce or both. And I would know have been eating that same burger for 15 years. Only recently started coming here when they changed ownership and I can say we are very pleased with the rebranding and new menu options! I love almost everything about Jakes Game Day, on NW Hwy. My only negative comment is that 90% of the time that I visit, they have some coffee rock music playing at a relatively loud volume, meanwhile, there are sports playing on several tvs, but all you hear is the music. Their choice of music, being subjective in nature, doesnt appeal to me at all. In fact, quite the opposite. It makes me want to leave before I even order.

We want to love this place so much because the original is our favorite and it looks good for the neighborhood, but the service here is just SO disappointing. First time we went it was slow but we figured it was just a busy night so we d try again. This time, with 2 toddlers mind you, we waited over an hour for food that when we asked to check on it was told the kitchen was backed up and it would be out in 5 minutes. While multiple tables around us who got seated after us had already ate and left, even though they also received extremely slow service. When the food still was not out (4 burgers) we asked for it to go because the toddlers were losing it. After ANOTHER 15 minutes when asked to speak to a manager to say never mind we didn t even want it, our food appeared and our bill came completely full priced and with items we asked for but never even received on it. When asked for something to be done, the manager took about another 10 minutes to take 20% off of each food item. At this point, our will was shot so we paid the $100 and left. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Since it had its opening this location has been lees than great. Opening was great with all the corporate managers were there. Tonight s server was nice; brought our check then disappeared. The co-workers did not know where the person went. We wait for over 10 minutes before we flagged another server to run our card. Our original server was found. She explained she was in the office speaking to her manager. Service is not on its game for only being open 2 months or so. There are other similar venues in the area. Guess they will be getting our business.

Where do I even begin with this place. Let s start with the beer, $7 for a pint of beer that s insane I can get a six pack for $3 more at my local store and gas station. The beer wasn t even cold at all, like someone took it out the fridge and left it sitting out. Now for the entree, oh my god the Philly cheesesteak I ordered was a cry for help! Plain bread with no butter not even toasted or grilled with meat so plain I had to add salt and pepper to it. It was even missing onions and they gave me a small cup of microwaved cheese to pour on the sandwich, like what!!!!!! The sweet potato fries I got weren t any better either. They were burned that made it feel like I was eating a burnt rice cake. I mean even McDonald s would have done a better job with this. Customer service was about the only good thing that came out of it, it was mediocre, but only great experience I had.

Not quite as good as I was hoping it would be. I prefer the Jakes near Skillman and Abrams instead, both in terms of food and concept. Of the new food items here, I tried the French onion dip, but it turned out to be just a scoop of seemingly store-bought onion dip with some generic tortilla chips. The burger I had, Bacon and Bleu Burger, was good, but didnt have that classic burger-joint-place taste like they do at the original Jakes. Also, it just had a glop of bleu cheese salad dressing rather than crumbled bleu cheese, which I think would have been better. So while this new place isnt bad, its not all that great either. I would gladly drive a bit further to the original Jakes instead.

The atmosphere of Jakes Gameday is SO MUCH more inviting than the previous establishment that was in this spot. The music wasnt loud and obnoxious, the people were friendly. The bartender, Darren, was very nice and attentive. Food came out fast and hot. I ordered the blue cheese chips (Ive been dreaming about them since bennigans closed) and they were delicious. The only constructive criticism is that they needed more sauce. The housemade chips are delicious by themselves though. Very excited to welcome Jakes to the neighborhood and I will definitely be coming back!

Ive come here twice and been disappointed both times. The first time I had ordered their 7.99 fried mushrooms and got this tiny portion given to me. The burger was fine, but it is the same exact burger, 7 dollars more, sold 10 minutes away at Kellers. The server had to go back to the bar for every basic question I had, most of which any server would have been prepared with answers for (I wanted to know how much they charged for coronitas, the server came back to tell me they were not on happy hour, then when I said that wasnt what I asked, they went back again and after returning said they were out). A family with two kids was sat next to me, which would be fine except they continuously screamed and shouted and found that sections light switch which was easily within grabbing distance of the... Little angels. The music is really loud, and the lighting is full bright all the time. Buffalo wild wings has better lighting. Second time I went I tried to order two drinks for myself, a beer and a margarita (TABC legal in Texas to have two drinks) and the bartender required two IDs, one for each drink, even though I was alone... Sitting at the bar. He then told me he did this because he had a customer buy a drink for their underage child (also TABC legal in Texas, as long as the parent is there to supervise) so they have started requiring a card for each drink. Not off to a great start with this place. I wanted a good spot to go after work for a drink and a burger, but this will be my last visit. Bummer.

What a great rebirth of a desperately needed spot in Lake Highlands. The burgers and wings were amazing. The pretzel appetizer was amazing. All the food we had was delicious. The staff was super friendly and everything was on point. So happy for this change and will be back.

My 3 other workers wanted a overpriced burger. 8 went across the street to grab mc Donalds. I grabbed my food and went Togo eat with the other guys at jakkes since they was goi g to be waiting for the next 20 mins for there food. As soon as I sat f OP wn the manager said I couldnt bring in outside food. I get it if I was alone I had 3 paying customers I was trying to eat lunch with. And I had alread ordered me a drink before leaving for mc Donalds. So I wont be back as a customer. Nor shall I bring any clients here. Thanks manager and I didnt pat formy drink either.

We took the kids here yesterday after our sons football game and tho the inside is still End Zone (literally everything is the same) the food, service and atmosphere was so so good! Speedy turn around on food, beers, drinks, etc. and our server, Ashley, was the bees knees! We have finally found our new hang spot! Yippeee

Really great update to the space and the menu is awesome. Great Jakes food that LH has come to know and love with a really fun and friendly vibe now. Such a great thing for the neighborhood to have a family friendly spot like this with actual great food. The jakes burgers are perfect, of course. And the wings are amazing.
