Visiting from Houston. Im not the easiest to please but yardbird exceeded all expectations. The service top notch - we had Nick as a bar tender and came back for a second round two days later. He s attentive and makes a fantastic Sit Back & Whisky. The food was delicious. We had the devil eggs, corn bread for appetizers. We ordered the Salmon and Chicken and Waffles for entrees.

I should have known something was off when we couldn t get a table at MiCocina due to a 1-hour and 30-minute wait, yet this place had only a 10-minute wait. It looked inviting from the outside, but looks can be deceiving. We were hungry and stopped in because it smelled like chicken, only to find out the place specialized in chicken and waffles with a side of watermelon. Honestly, I was confused by the concept what was the deal with the watermelon? It felt strange, and in my mind, I couldn t help but think, What kind of Tomfoolery is this? The whole vibe reminded me of a scene from the movie Get Out just odd and completely off. I started noticing that while the food seemed basic, the prices were on par with fine dining, which didn t make sense. But, since we were hungry, we ordered: two plates of shrimp and grits, one wedge salad, salmon, and lobster mac & cheese. The shrimp and grits were terrible the grits tasted like burnt mashed potatoes. The wedge salad was a mess, served with withered, browning lettuce and tiny bits of pork belly that reminded me of the scraps you d use to season vegetables. Disgusting. The salmon looked blackened but had no flavor at all how do you make salmon look so good and taste so bland? And the lobster mac & cheese? It tasted like cheese whiz with a lobster head thrown on top. Just awful. This meal was so bad and overpriced that i am convinced that people are not serious about food here and only care about the ambience. I will not be returning or recommending this place.

Great Restaurant, Great Service, Great Atmosphere ,Very Clean and Presentable. I ordered the Chicken with Mac and Cheese and Potatoes and Gravy. When the meal was served I took a bite of my wifes chicken because she got hers before me. It was not hot so I told my wife that in private or at least I thought I did. To my surprise when they bought me my dish they had also prepared another dish of fried chicken for my wife and it was Hot. THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE TO ME. WAY TO GO!!!

Recently went to yardbird for dinner and it was great. Did a ton of sides, split a main and had drinks. Ambiance and decor was amazing and they have a great patio. Canola oil is gasoline and most places use this oil to fry their foods. Consider coconut oil, avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil. Corn is a hybrid that has gone wrong and does not digest in the body. Wheat/Gluten/Soy has been weaponized and should not be served in any restaurant. The way the food industry has been set up is the largest reason why there is illness on the planet. Take a stand and only serve natural organic non weaponized toxic foods. We look forward to companies who put their passion before the money. Those are the best places to support because they care about your health and well being. Wholeness and Love FYI: There were no organic plant based non toxic items available for me to eat. The photo of the shrimp of grits was eaten by someone who accompanied me. Beautiful Restaurant! Very peaceful and enjoyable vibes even on walk up. We tried a lot of food and luckily it was also DFW Restaurant Week so we were able to get a little more for less. Started of with drinks (Tequila Old Fashion & Southern Peach. Both were delicious! For apps we had the cornbread and cesar salad. The cornbread was Great! Only wish it had more meat in it but over all very moist and flavorful. The salad also had an interesting flavor. I m usually not a tomato person but with this salad I couldn t resist. The main course was the Great American Burger and the Chicken and Waffles with a side of Mac & Cheese. The only complaint about the burger was you could tell it had been sitting for a while. I like my fries hot, so that was one of two let downs with the food. Otherwise I could tell the burger was nicely seasoned. The chicken was definitely the winner of the night, served with the cheddar waffles and watermelon it was a very fulfilling and refreshing meal. The Mac &Cheese was saucy but also had a good flavor. For desert I had the Deep Fried Oreo(s). This was SO amazing! It was coated in a very crispy crunchy batter and heavily drizzled with chocolate syrup This is unfortunately where let down 2 happened. There was literally only 1 Oreo and, since I took it to go, no ice cream. But would still definitely do it again! Excited to try more of the menu

My fiancé & I were in the arts district yesterday & decided to go to Yardbird after seeing their instagram. The ONLY positive was our sever. This was our first time here & will definitely be our last. Our drinks took so long to be made that they hit the table a minute before our food did. My drink had what appeared to be a bug floating at the top. After our server took it back to the bar, we found out the dark colored things floating was thyme. My drink didn t have that in the ingredients, & it took another 10+ min to get another one made. My fiancé & I were right by the bar & could see the bartenders demeanor & lack of urgency to correct the issue. When my food came out, my wings were burnt. It looked nothing like the picture we saw on instagram that led us to checking out Yardbird. I still tried them anyway & I could barely bite into it b/c it was so overdone/overcooked. Our server offered to have to remade, but by this time my fiancé s food was almost gone so I said no thank you. No one came by to talk to us about anything. Not even the manager we saw stopping at the tables around us. We took care of our sever b/c none of this was his fault of course. He was amazing! I ve been to the Miami & LA locations for lunch & dinner. Was in Dallas today for weekend brunch. The Chicken Bacon Biscuit with an egg & gravey blew my mind. The service was outstanding. If you come here for the atmosphere and the chicken, youll likely consider it a good experience. The curb appeal and the many amber lights make the restaurant stand out visually. The food itself was fine. We tried the Dallas restaurant week three course menu, in which the chicken stood out as being great. Crispy and juicy, also with a hint of sweetness which could be polarizing. The burger was average at best, and the other dishes (starter and desserts) were fine. Had we ordered off of the regular menu, the prices wouldve been hard to justify, in my opinion. For example, chicken and waffles is $36, the burger is $24 (would personally value it at $7). So, come here with the right expectations / to take pictures out front, and youll probably have a good time.

I was very impressed with that ambience of the place. Our waiter was very respectful and kind. The only issue I had with the restaurant with the way the menu is. They do not sell a dish that comes with sides you have to purchase those separately and they are not cheap! if you want macaroni and cheese, that s $15. Appetizers/ starters are not necessarily shareable and mostly just salads? The menu doesn t make sense to me If i want cornbread i have to buy a skillet of it for $14.

The food was good and ambience was great. Our server we couldn t remember her name but she was amazing. We did ask for the chicken gluten free due to my husband being myself and not being able to have pork and it was made fresh. We had two issues the first was our waffles were not cocked thoroughly and they had to remake which was fast but inconvenient. The biggest issue is we had 4 pieces of chicken that we asked to pack up and bring home with waffles. After a long day and getting home we noticed that chicken was missing from our to go boxes. It s 10:37pm and too late to call but my husband spent over $150.00 on this meal and for chicken to be not all packed on plates that we had taken to the back is not cool. Hopefully the managers are able to rectify this issue ASAP.

My first time at Yardbird. But NOT my last!!!! OMG...Lets just say Phenomenal amazing fabulous!!!! A must try when you are in downtown Dallas and if you live in Dallas!!! First let me start with the manager, Tamesa . When I tell you beautiful spirit!!! Beautiful soul perfect in every way. She greeted us with a smile and was fabulously dressed. Her smile is infectious and her personality is top notch. She definitely sets the tone of excellence for this restaurant. Next, lets talk about the spiritual connection I had with my server named Hillary!! Hillary also has an infectious personality and a smile that will warm your heart and your soul. She and I found out we have the same tattoo artist as I was intrigued by her tattoo art on her arm. From there on the connection was as if I had known her my whole life. Her suggestions on drinks were spot on and definitely what my sister and I need it after a long week for friday evening. I had a drink that was made with jim bean and blackberries and my sister had a sweet tea drink that was made with peach vodka. From our first taste we knew we had to order a second one. Next we decided to eat off of the three course set meal. Hillary explained the menu to perfection and gave suggestive selling points on what she felt we would enjoy. I started with the fried green tomato. My sister had the deviled eggs. Since we are both foodies, we could taste literally every ingredient that these portions were made of. OMG the flavors were impeccable. Next we both agreed that we were gonna have the same thing for our main course, because were like twins so we had shrimp and grits. The shrimp were so large and cooked to perfection The grits were so creamy and the Gravy left me speechless it was that good. Finally, we closed out by having the keylime pie. We enjoyed our meal so much that the chef came out to the table to introduce herself. Chef Seneca is not only handsome with beautiful eyes, But he engaged with us and answered every question that we had pertaining to the menu and the selection of dishes he chose to place for this location. All I can say is that this is a place that I could go to every single day from the ambience of the entire restaurant to the amazing incredible staff, Yardbird is a MUST try more than a million and one times. I cant wait to go back for saturday brunch and then turn around again and return on sunday for brunch and then turn around again and come in for monday happy hour followed by tuesday through friday Thats how much I enjoyed myself. I came in here beyond underdressed and still received stellar service. The drinks are nice and earthy. The chicken cooked to perfection. Nice and moist for the biscuits and gravy. The fried chicken had a crunch to die for. The bourbon syrup wasn t too overbearing and added just enough of a twang to the waffles. I got the Mac and Cheese on the side and ate it for leftovers. It tasted just as good the next day.

Found this restaurant specifically to use the inKind dining app that allows us to use credit we purchase through the app at partnering restaurants. Little did we know, the restaurant informed us AFTER our meal that they don t accept inKind. It would be nice to have some posted signs or notifying diners before they are seated that inKind is not accepted. Now for the food, most dishes are heavily overpriced. The deviled eggs were hard and tasteless. The Caesar salad on the restaurant week menu was pretty good but the main dish of chicken and waffles also felt overpriced. Chicken Spinach wrap is meh. The Watermelon is a nice touch but not necessary to the dish. The general decor of the restaurant was nice but not nice enough to convince us to come back.

This was our first visit. Ambiance was great! However, the food was overpriced for what you get. Appetizers stay away from the Devil Egg. $9 for 1 egg cut in half and that s all you get. Ridiculous. Corn bread was worth the cost. It was really good. We had 3 different plates of which were a 6.5 out of 10. Fried chicken was the best, Tenders came in at a 2nd place and last was the Rotisserie chicken. Sides we were not tasty. They looked good but lacked flavor and seasoning. Service was good.

This place is fancier than I though it would be, but it wasnt formal or anything. It has lots of great gluten friendly items to choose from. Everything my husband and I had was absolutely delicious. The sides are like family style, so if its just two of you, two sides between you are enough. I highly recommend the crispy Brussels sprouts. The gf keylime pie was A+. The chocolate cake (NOT gf, my husband got it) is like a quarter of a cake. It is enough for 4-6 people. Parking is Valet, but its only $10. Im sure you can find another place and walk further, but the valet was quick and they were very nice! Its pretty pricey, but all in all, it was a great date night!

My experience at Yardbird surpassed my expectations! I didn t know what to expect but the customer service and the food were absolutely amazing. First let me start with our incredible server Evan. From the moment, he greeted us at our table, he provided tip tier customer service. He was very attentive and even helped me through my indecisiveness when it was my turn to order. I m not sure if it was coincidence or not, but when some water dripped from the champagne bottle as he was refilling out glasses, another guy came to clean it up within seconds. My friend and I were shocked and so impressed haha. Now on to the food. I shared the fried chicken, crème brûlée waffles, and Mac n cheese with my friend and thank God I did because the portions were HUGE. Believe it or not we had leftovers. It took everything in me not to finish it because everything was seasoned so well and tasted delicious. The combination of delicious food and Evan s superior service is incentive enough to go back. . Oh man I almost forgot to mention the yummy deviled eggs. Highly recommend!

We went to Yardbird on a Thursday evening without a reservation. The host checked us in and found a great table to accommodate my party of three. Our server Hillary was very friendly and suggested a drink for me based on what I wanted, It was very tasty. The food came out within 10 minutes & it was hot and seasoned perfectly. I didnt need to add salt or pepper to my food ( something I always do). The restaurant was definitely an experience it was very clean and the decor inside and out was eye catching. 10/10 for everything! I plan on visiting again.

Beef short rib- was tender but without the glaze the beef was flavorless. And for the price and very skeet portion 6.5/10 Lewellyns Fine Fried Chicken- it s fried chicken nothing special. From the host (upon arrival), to the managers, the chef, the waiters always present and attentive to our ceremony , our waitress with a great charisma from start to finish (we will ask for her at our next event) . I had the pleasure of my colleague joining me for lunch at yardbird and I was blown away by Mack! She explained exactly there menu changes and walked us through them and suggested items! Nestled in downtown Dallas, this Yardbird restaurant has the vibes when it comes to music and food! It was hot inside the restaurant but I truly enjoyed my meal, the appetizers, and drinks. The service was good too but the food did take quite a while to come out for a Wednesday night. It wasnt busy at all and they accommodated our large group and treated us with kindness. I call this place Lardbird . This restaurant is not Muslim, vegetarian or allergy friendly. Almost everything is cross contaminated with pork or fried in lard. Even the fries were not safe to eat. The Caesar wrap tasted burnt. I would not recommend this place if you have any dietary restrictions.

We came in today for our anniversary brunch, and we have been to this location now 3x, and this is based on today. Your service was not good at all. We didnt know parking was $10 now for Valet when prior parking was based on tips. Hillary was sweet, but she could not have dashed off so quickly when we needed more water and condiments for our food. She passed us on the water refill and served the table next to us, and we had to ask. Two: We asked her to take our photo, and she missed the Yard Bird brand in the picture, so we took our own and added the brand logo because we know how important banding is for reviews. Three: We received a Father s Day rootbeer float, and it looked like the float was at the bottom of the glass, and she sent it back and made it right. To top it all off, heres the kicker. She politely informed us that there is an 18% up charge due today being Fathers Day. My husband felt penalized. Why reward me with an 18% percent up charge on the holiday? Thanks for the complimentary drink!! Can you tell us why there is a Dallas Food Sales Tax $4.87 & Dallas MB Sales Tax $2.48? Yardbird used to be a high class establishment, and now they allow anyone to come in with no class or sense with street clothes. We used to always brag about Yard Bird. Weve been to L.A., Miami, and now Dallas, and now were taking our business elsewhere. We planned on going to Denver and Vegas, Chicago now, but we have to rethink.

This place was absolutely amazing! Parking was a breeze and they validate your ticket from the garage. The food was spectacular as each dish had its own unique taste that you can t get anywhere else. I ordered the chicken n waffles n watermelon and my date had the rotisserie chicken. The chicken was SO tender and juicy, it literally falls off the bone. (chef s kiss) The decor was beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing, the ambience was nice and the noise level was not high. Perfect spot for a date (which is why I was there), formal birthday dinner, or any other private event with a nice venue. Our waiter Jack, was very knowledgeable and so attentive to our order and needs. He also recommended some tasty drinks from the cocktail menu. The food here is just okay. It s southern or soul food with a twist and doesn t taste all that great. The fried chicken is flavored well, but then the hint of sweet throws it off in my opinion. The marmalade for the biscuits is tasty, but then it has a spiciness that throws it off. I wasn t prepared to eat spicy marmalade on my biscuits. The collard greens are sweet and were my least favorite out of everything. The macaroni was good, the homemade buttermilk ranch was excellent, and the spin on the fried green tomatoes with the pimento cheese and pork belly was delicious. The house made hot sauce wasn t that great either, but I m not a fan of vinegar/sour based hot sauces. Overall the atmosphere was nice and service was great, but I don t have to go back.

NOT GOING BACK . We were there to celebrate my friends birthday. The place was excellent, and the food was good, but the bad part was my friend didn t finish her food. She ordered to go box, and they packed the food. The next day, when she warmed up the food, she found a big metal piece in the food and shared the photo with us. We were all shocked because she ordered the same food as I ordered. She contacted the restaurant, and the manager apologized. My friend said it was probably a metal piece from a whisker. Up until now, the only Yardbird I had eaten at was in Las Vegas, and that location is one of my favorite spots to hit when I am in the area. This Yardbird did not disappoint either. The food is always perfectly prepared and the service matches. This location is open and well laid out, you can relax, enjoy a drink and have a conversation. I had the chicken and waffles ($43). It was the most expensive chicken and waffles I ever bought in my life. I was very excited to eat them, although side eyeing the addition of watermelon a bit on the nose. But, nonetheless I was excited.... Do not believe the hype. I can go to Roscoes Chicken n Waffles or some place more authentic for less than $20 and be satisfied. Waffle: I get the angle of the herb crusted speckled waffles. It was cooked perfect, but by itself with out syrup tasted bland with a sprinkle of plants. Chicken: It was crispy and cooked thoroughly, but I was still looking for the seasoning. Barely any nor finishing salt. I was disheartened by both sides being cooked so well but had lack of taste. Syrup: It was okay the bourbon was bourbonin. I couldnt get past the overly strong taste of it. It wasnt at least a little sweet like I expected. Just in your face punch. Watermelon: It reminded me of having watermelon and putting taking on it. Thats pretty much it. If you havent had authentic chicken and waffles I can see how it can come of boogie and nice, but its a low note for me. And definitely not worth the price... I was very upset. Last year, I gave this place 5 stars. They still have creativity but something changed. During our dining experience the crew had to take out the trash in big carts behind us. Maybe their elevator broke or something? They were quiet, but during dinner? There is a level of finery for a fancy restaurant that can be honored. My service there was on point, however. I ve visited the Miami location a few years ago which had a more elevated beachside atmosphere but I loved the contrast of this location s elevated downtown atmosphere. Each course was delicious. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great, however the service the night we were there wasnt good. They didnt have enough staff and our server had too many tables. From the moment we walked in the energy was off, it was my birthday and naturally an ID can expire on your birthday, but the hostess was focused on that fact than the whole nature of our visit. Majority of the time we could not find our server, and when he did come around we were met with dry customer service. We watched everyone around us get treated way better (having different servers), and part of me could help but feel we were being treated different for a reason. We came after a long day and didn t have time to change and doll up before stopping in, but it s always surprising and disappointing to be treated differently just because of that. The food was okay and we could tell the server didn t really feel like helping us understand the menu (all questions we asked, were answered as if he was offended we were taking up his time). I was down on a far awkward corner, so I was there probably 15 minutes before he saw me. They were busy at the other end for drinks going to tables. The chicken was really good it could use a little more seasoning but overall I would give it a 7. The lobster mac and cheese is labeled as market price on the menu but it was not worth the price that they are selling it for. It is really not a lot of lobster in that mac and cheese, but we got it and tried it anyway. The salad was really good. The biscuits omg were amazing... The skillet cornbread is also good but if you do not eat pork I suggest you do not get it because the bacon is already mixed into the batter. Do not sleep on the braised short rib it is so juicy and tender, also the chicken is fall off the bone even though its fried. Overall we had a great time here celebrating my moms birthday! P.s. they do charge a $5 dessert fee for bringing in outside desserts if you are celebrating any occasion. Love everything about this place. My only complaint was it was freezing in there. My boyfriend who runs hot even said how cold it was. But other than that everything was great. The service was great. I had the short ribs and ate it all! Definitely pricy but great for an anniversary or date night. Will go back.

Upon entering, the ambiance felt off, which was particularly disheartening as it was my birthday. While my ID had expired on the same day, the hostess fixated on this detail rather than acknowledging the purpose of our visit. Throughout the evening, our server was largely absent, and when present, their demeanor lacked warmth and attentiveness. Observing others being treated more favorably by different servers only heightened our sense of being marginalized. To feel judged for our appearance. Although the food was passable, our server seemed disinterested in assisting us with the menu, responding to our inquiries with apparent irritation. I had eagerly anticipated celebrating my birthday with my partner, but in retrospect, choosing YardBird proved to be a regrettable decision. The overall experience, marred by immature service, left us feeling as though our time and money had been wasted.

The food, service and ambiance is absolutely amazing! They made an excellent yardbird old fashioned and their fried chicken and sweet tea glazed ribs is to die for. Very delicious food and we enjoyed our dinner here. We will surely be back soon to enjoy their delicious food.

An excellent choice for date night in downtown Dallas. The food was phenomenal with the table favorite being the Mac and cheese. Drinks were pricey but for the atmosphere, vibe and experience - well worth it. For a nicer night out with good food and company, definitely get a table here.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I decided to take a chance walking in with my family of 13 for Sunday Brunch w/no reservation. I was immediately greeted at the door with a smile and a warm welcome by Natki. She was able to get us a table together in a room with no wait. Our servers name was Trevor. He did a great job taking care of us. The food was very filling. We had a great time. Thank you Yardbird!

Great food and a wonderful atmosphere! Yardbird did not disappoint for dinner in downtown Dallas! We had a Yardbird old fashioned with bacon and a spicy hot momma cocktail! I had the famous chicken and waffles, and my wife had the beef short rib! The hot sauce for the chicken and the bourbon maple syrup for the waffles was a great combo, and I loved that they came on the side so you could sauce them up the perfect amount just for you! What really pulled the chicken and waffles together was the spicy watermelon! Such a good touch!! The beef rib was oh so tender and packed full of flavor. We had the banana chocolate cheese cake and it might have been the best thing weve ever had for a dessert. Joshua our server was excellent and was able to make great recommendations. The ambiance and decoration were top-notch.

1/2 chicken consisted of four small pieces overcooked, dry and under seasoned for $33 no sides. Short Rib Pappardelle Pasta was lacking in meat and lacked flavor. We ordered 3 glasses of wine $19 a glass. Waiter suggested a bottle so we agreed knowing bottles yield around 5 glasses and end up cheaper per glass. When the bill came the price of the bottle $95 was the same as glass price. We felt duped so spoke to manager who confirmed the price theyd charged was correct. The manager had the opportunity to smooth over the wine problem but made no attempt, came across with a very matter of fact attitude and lack of care that we were unhappy. Overall, the food and beverage experience was not good. I would not recommend this restaurant.

My Family of 11 went this past Sunday for my daughter s 18th birthday and had a great experience. Not only was the food amazing the service was as well. They didn t have any open reservations for the time we needed so we did a walk in and Nataki the host took so good care of us even was able to get us a private room. The waiter Bryant was also great as well.

If you re looking for a place with great service, drinks, and food, trust me you have definitely found it , because Yardbird has it all and will meet all of your food and service expectations. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately by valet and they were quick to assist and very professional. As we walked up together venue, the decor was perfect so you know pictures had to be taken. Entering the establishment Avery the Host, immediately greeted us with a warm smile and sat us a the perfect table with the best view of Klyde Warren Park. Our waiter Brian was the best!!!! He went over and beyond to ensure that our first time wasn t our last time. Brian provided us work great recommendations for the food and drink options. The Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade was fantastic, this drink was garnished with a dried lemon for the perfect summer time look and taste. The combination of sweet and Smokey proved why it was highly recommended. It definitely gave me that Texas taste. For dinner I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. This dish is one of the best ones yet. The plate came with juicy watermelon, 4 varieties of fall off the bone chicken, and fluffy waffles. Did I mention the sweet hot sauce and Maple Bourbon syrup?? These are one is a kind sauces that will have you wanting more. This was a great experience, and I can t wait to return for more.

This place has a great ambience for an intimate dinner. The food was phenomenal, and the cocktails were great! I recommend the Lewellyns Fine Fried Chicken, Chicken & Waffles, Brussel sprouts and the biscuits. Also, Nataki is the absolute best host ever!!! If you re not sure what to order you can always ask her and she will give you a great recommendation and if you can remember to ask if Christian is there and ask to be seated in his area, he will take great care of you. I recommend this place and will be visiting again soon.

The various times we have visited we have enjoyed not only the company of my hubby but also my family and clients. Love the service and attention. Looove love love the Lewellyn chicken its a must! We also recently celebrated my parents anniversary . Another nice little deal is that Vallet parking is only $10 bucks! soooo worth it!
