Brunch was great! I was not impressed with the bangers, though, they were quite tough. Everything else was great! Parking: I was lucky to be there on a Sunday, because the neighborhood s street parking is for residents only on Tuesday-Saturday. I m not sure where in the world you d park on those days. I had to park about 3 blocks away.

We used to come here all the time before we moved from the area. We came back today it was great as usual. I typically get the chicken strips because they might be my favorite in Dallas. Today I went with the chicken, biscuits, and gravy on the brunch menu. While I thought it was good, I regretted not getting the chicken strips. They are too good! The rest of the group got a salad and eggs Benedict and said it was great (pictured). A dog friendly patio is a plus and the staff immediately brought us a dog bowl. Highly recommend if you want a casual bite with good drinks!

This pub is the busier one vs spider Murphys and fills up first but we were able to get in earlier in the night without a line. Again 2000s music, loud, energetic crowd. Friendly staff that keeps cool under pressure even with the Saturday night crowd. Come here to have fun and meet new people. Highly recommended!

I am a regular at The Old Monk. I know the bartenders, Ian, Paige, Dakota, Mike, and Jane personally. I consider all of them some of my many closest friends. Unfortunately, yesterday, May 6th, 2024, the bar/restaurant was closed for maintenance reasons. My intentions were to go there and celebrate Mikes (the bartenders) 30th birthday, and buy him a few birthday cocktails. Eitherway, the staff is AMAZING, and the food is FREAKING WONDERFUL!!! There were a couple of times that I got a little too tipsy (LOL!!!,) and the bartenders on duty cut me off, which I gratefully appreciate. This is the place where I feel like it is my home away from home!!! It is my Cheers, Where everybody knows your name! If you are new to Dallas, or if you are a local, The Old Monk is the place to relax and enjoy yourself. It is a hidden gem. Please do me a favor and DO NOT miss out on this special place!!! I sincerely mean it!

Always a solid choice to grab some food and drinks prior to a concert at Dos Equis Amphitheater... best vegetarian rueben sandwich around! The fish & chips are also awesome. I just wished they offered a couple more non-alcoholic drinks (Heineken Zero is good though). Bonus - The Old Monk has their own small parking right next door, but warning, it fills up quick!

Sunday Brunch. The place has its own cool difficult to describe. My wife loves their breakfast tacos and I enjoy their eggs benedict. Weve been there several times and the waitresses seem to be more of the buffet type service. Someone will bring you the food reasonably quick, waitress will check if its arrived ... then gone. How bout drink refils ? Coffee ? Nvm. Just whenever youre done with your phone, bring my check.

So glad to see this place & the friendly bartenders survived 2020. It was like going home and the burgers are still so tasty. Had the cheese burger with Welsh rarebit and caramelized onions. Super mouthwatering. The tempura fried mushrooms were perfectly crisp and the spicy cilantro dipping sauce was a great side. I love the red sangria. It complements the food in a sweet and savory way. Vegetarian options: Lentil soup is delicious. The homemade veggie burger, served two ways with Chipotle Sauce or without is the best veggie burger I have ever eaten. Fresh and handmade on site.

Always consistent, always great and your own corner pub. Huge rotational selection of beers, sours and ciders. Had the fried mushrooms and a flash back to the 80s of the best appetizer ever. Shared the mini chicken Avocado burgers and fries with my hubby. The grilled chicken was perfect and flavorful. Each burger had the right combo of Avocado and condiments. The skinny fries were crisp, golden deliciousness. The staff is efficient and friendly. I could spend all afternoon at the bar here. Its that comfortable.

The Monk is simply a chill vibe and a happy karma space. Service is spotty when you first arrive because its usually packed and its seat yourself. Drinks are great, food is delicious - old fashioned pub food. Parking is tight, walk if you can but if you cant, leave the land cruiser at home and break the mini out. They didnt acknowledge us when we came in the restaurant and no one even bothered to check on us while we were standing at the front we were brought food and drinks they we never got a chance to order so of course we turned it away. We never received our initial drink orders and never got to order food because NO ONE CAME TO OUR TABLE . NO ONE CAME ! Wish we went hungry! The place was packed so we knew that had to mean something good. We were able to find a seat on the inside and ordered a beer. They had some Oktoberfest beers and other specials for Oktoberfest. We had just come from dinner and my husband couldnt help himself and ordered the beef stew! Might be the best bar in Dallas and has been for 25+ years. Great beer options (plenty of Euro and Belgiuns). Really good food including vegetarian options and serving late. Good parking, which is a bit rare in that neighborhood. Party atmosphere on Fri/Sat late. Always a solid happy hour. Brunch is great. Cannot recommend this bar enough for just about any age group.

I ve come to the old monk on several occasions. Usually service is slow and have blamed it for the bar being busier. The blonde girl and dude with the pony tail made a point of chatting up/flirting with the people around us and make sure to ignore and go around us. 10 mins in we were finally greeted very short and irritatedly. Real bummer bc I bad really talked the place up and we were excited to check it out. Bar is cool, service will make sure l won t be back.
