I love this shop! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. They are so competitive with their film prices too! Even though I m located in San Antonio now, I still make it a point to stop here if I m ever in the area. Would rather ship to them just for their quality of work, expertise, and kindness.

The personnel at Lone Star dark room for pleasant and helpful. We filled out the forms to have the 110 and 126 film cartridges developed at their off-site location. Within one week we received an email invoice. Once the payment went through we received in another email a link to view the photos that were developed. We were able to download and print the photos ourselves and share them with others. Conveniently located on Old Irving Boulevard in Dallas this location is easily accessible. A bit pricey at $20 a roll but well worth it to see the old images we thought had been lost forever. I highly recommend this to anyone having older film that needs good quality developing done.

Lone Star Darkroom is one of my go-to places in DFW, especially for B&W, E6, and 4x5 developing. Their prices are very reasonable and they do a great job with processing/scanning. Its also nice to see the occasional shout-out from them on Instagram! Please consider giving them your business!!

There s no where I trust more than Lone Star Darkroom to develop my film. The drop off location, at Dons Photo Equipment, is one of the friendliest camera supply stores I ve been in. My film was turned around quickly and the scans were stunning. As a new film photographer I m very grateful for the friendliness, professionalism and unpretentious guidance I ve found at Lone Star and Dons Photo. 10/10 experience

I don t recommend trusting your treasured memories captured on film with Lone Star. First, their prices are much higher than others for developing and they charge extra for scans. Second, the results were below expectations and was hoping for better given the price. Finally, was disappointed in response when bringing up concerns. It s disappointing!

In short: they re unprofessional, will imply you re a bad photographer when they mess up, and their scans, development process, and professionalism is atrocious. The prices are unreasonable and the delivery time is unnecessarily long. Details: To give an example - prices at a quality NYC development lab (say Bleeker Digital Solutions) run about $18 a pop for negatives and scans. Meanwhile, Lone Star runs for about $21 a pop. NYC prices have insane inflation so it can be understood; however DFW has no reason to have prices this high, higher than NYC. Now let s talk about delivery time. After drop off, it took 3 days to receive an invoice and confirmation, and then another 3 days for the order to complete. But that s not it. They failed to realize I asked for scans as well, and when I discussed and I paid more money, they said the scans would take a few more days. They used the excuse that their competitors in DFW charge more and that they are a small business and can t run big process machines. While I could understand that, I ve been to labs in San Antonio (again, cheaper and faster delivery) and the labs I ve been to in NYC are even smaller (I ve met the owners at the front desk) it s hard for me to believe that this is a valid excuse. For the insane amount of money you pay, the time they take to deliver your photos is ridiculous. Again, in NYC you can get both scans and negatives for cheaper and within the span of 3-4 days max. Now that I ve gotten my film back, the scans came out green and sepia. Their development/scan process is lazy and they ruined my photos. In addition, when I asked for a refund they said specifically, We cannot give you a refund just because you dont like how you shot your photos, right before mansplaining to me proper care of my film. For the record, I ve shot for a decade using the same film type (Kodak Porta 400 & 800) and have never had these issues with my scans. For them to lack the insight to take responsibility let alone realize the exact issues on what they did wrong shows how neglectful they are. I had my scans peer reviewed to diagnose the issue and it s clear it was an issue from development and scanning. Then to proceed to insult me instead of a refund is inexcusable. Highly do not recommend.

This company does not have a brick and mortar location but rather a drop off location. I spoke with the owner or manager by phone then dropped off about 60 photos and as many negatives to be printed, scanned and some to be retouched. It took 5 weeks to get digital images back of the photos I asked to be scanned and when I went to pick up my pictures, negatives and reprints the reprints and negatives were there but the company had lost all 50 - 60 old pictures Id left to be retouched or scanned from my mothers childhood and my own. They apologized and gave me a refund for the pictures I paid to be printed and the ones they scanned however never found my pictures. These are the only pictures I had from my family history so needless to say a refund will never replace the agony of losing precious photos. If you have photos that are extremely important reconsider using this company.

Incorrectly processed my E-6 and C-41 fim. Had to color correct extensively on slide film which shouldnt be necessary if properly developed. The dmax didnt reach full blacks suggesting the reversal bath was at the incorrect temperature or was improperly mixed. C-41 had excessive streaks which Ive never seen on a correctly developed roll of color negative film. I have had better quality developing color film at home with only a couple semesters of college level photography courses. I suggest avoiding this darkroom and opt for someone that is going to put care into developing your film with precious memories (or projects) on them.

Been getting film developed for years. Recently moved to Dallas and was searching for a new place. When I dropped off here, no one who actually worked at the darkroom was present and an employee from a different business accepted my film in an envelope. Just a heads up you will be paying approximately $25 for JUST processing & scanning (no prints). Ignore the website that says $13.75. I had to reach out to owner after about 5 days because I had not been contacted and wanted to know the progress. He sent the invoice and I asked if there was any way I could get a discount as I am a new customer and the website clearly states something different. He said no and that the website is rather clear and I should have asked someone if I was unsure. Who was I to ask? He was nowhere to be found when I dropped off the film and then didn t contact me until I had contacted him. I will be going elsewhere.
