Great performance space. I ve seen a few concerts. It s not too big and is beautiful inside and it. There is a lot of parking around for varying price options. Depending on the day of the week and time, it may be better to prepay for parking.

I recently attended an event at the Moody Performance Hall, hosted by Ballet North Texas, on April 27, 2024. Regrettably, my experience fell far short of expectations, leaving me deeply disappointed. The event, advertised as a performance of Sleeping Beauty ballet, promised an immersive experience complete with narrations, interactive elements, and engaging Q&A sessions. However, what transpired was anything but immersive. The performance lacked coherence and depth, with minimal staging and only a handful of brief dances. The advertised interactive elements were virtually nonexistent, leaving attendees feeling disconnected from the performance. To compound matters, the entire event lasted a mere 35 minutes, which felt insufficient given the cost of tickets and parking totaling $60. This brevity, coupled with the lackluster performance, left me feeling shortchanged and disillusioned. Despite my attempts to seek recourse, the organizers of the event, including the Moody Performance Hall, demonstrated a disappointing lack of accountability by refusing to issue refunds for the misrepresented event. This unwillingness to address the concerns of patrons only further soured the experience. As a venue that hosts a variety of events, including performances by esteemed organizations like Ballet North Texas, the Moody Performance Hall has a responsibility to ensure that patrons receive the quality experiences they expect and deserve. Unfortunately, my recent experience fell far short of this standard. In the future, I hope the Moody Performance Hall will take proactive measures to address concerns raised by patrons and uphold the quality and integrity of the events it hosts.

Went to see the hip hop version of Romeo and Juliet performance. We had a blast! The best part was the DJs on the turntables, and the dance battles. Venue was large enough to be Grand yet still small enough to be intimate. Staff was very professional and knowledgeable of the downtown area. Made our night memorable! We are looking forward to our next visit!

Moody is a modernist/brutalist take on a performance hall. Its small enough to allow a feeling of intimacy/universally good views. We saw a performance of the nutcracker with a live orchestra, which is unique in the DFW area. Location is excellent. Parking is easy.

Not clear what the drinks cost, long lines, parking is very confusing because underneath every door says att performing arts center, the map says moody but it was across street, which is the Wylie, then you walk up a very steep hill (not great for bad feet, heels or sr), then walk one block over to moody. Coffee in one place, cups in another. Wine in a 3rd spot. The nutcracker was ... Half play half ballet and did not follow the traditional story line (why?). Music was good but not orchestra. My friend bought the tix, 180 for nosebleed. No pics allowed. next time Ill go to the bass.

Went to the YPO / Dallas String Ensemble / Sinfonietta. While the venue was good as well as the acoustics, the seating chart was COMPLETELY wrong. Rows went up (A to Z) instead of down (Z to A) and numbered left to right. Consequently we sat on the wrong side of the conductor and couldnt see our girl. Extremely disappointing that a seating chart could be SO wrong.

this past weekend I visited the moody performance hall for a spur of the moment decision to see Momixs Alice. A phenomal work that was unfortunately colored by a negative and unfortunately aggressive run in with Moody security as we were leaving the venue. We had stayed for the artist talk after the performance, and despite the moderator ignoring my nieces question the momix company members made it a point to come to the side of the stage to answer her question. My sister and I thought it was the end to an great day, we went to the bathroom and then proceeded to leave the building singing titus praises. it was when we paused to look at the line up of upcoming dances that the security guard, in a very brusque manner, told us to vacate the premises, which we were doing, pausing to look at a picture doesnt usually indicate an intention to camp last time I checked. It was when we didnt, I guess, start running for the exit, that he began to move his hand towards his hip and reiterate his point leave the building. Now as an Allen survivor Im on edge now, if he is reaching for a weapon I cant know, all I know is I am in open space with my sister and my 7yr old niece. And this has affected my niece enough that she had to see her school counselor today, I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone continue to see any titus performances or any erformance at Moody if this is how Moody security behaves towards its patrons.

Great venue, photos make it look big, but in person it s a pretty small and personal feeling venue. We stressed over where to sit, but don t worry you ll be able to see and hear fine from any seat. The single and double row seats on the far sides are movable and can be easily turned towards the stage. We will definitely be back.
