This is a remarkable slice of nature. The opportunity to work here Sunday morning to bring back the blackland Prairies the pioneers first found is a religious experience. Come at night too to experience the moon. We love this place.

Beautiful, just needs more love. If roping the trails in was an option, Id do it. With so much poison ivy around, it becomes a bit much, and having so many people around it is rather dangerous as there are no precautions other than a few signs.

This is NOT your place if you re looking for a nice quiet walk during the day. A very small loop next to a school and in the middle of a busy neighborhood. Also the loop is pretty small maybe a half mile or so. Just a heads up!

UNDERRATED GEM. A piece of prairie in heart of the city. Wide variety of native plants and pollinators. Spring has great wildflower blooms and November is when the tall grass plumes are in their glory, but truly worth visiting every single month of the year. Almost totally lacking in orientation / information signage but I hear they are working on that. More plant labels near the parking lot and the prairie entrance would help with the educational mission without interfering with the untouched appeal of the nature center out in the prairie itself. PLEASE stay on the trails and keep your dog leashed. Dont destroy the very thing you came there to see.

Great hidden gem for locals in the Bishop Arts neighborhood. The trail feels a bit short, so its better for a casual stroll, and not really for serious hikers. (Hint: you wont get a full workout here. Maybe try the Cedar Ridge Preserve). That said, it is a very good escape from the hustle bustle of the city if you live closeby. There is parking (7-8 cars max). And they made a landscaping effort to include native flora and plants in the front. I heard the park land was purchased by a couple of friends who live in this neighborhood. Not sure if its true but it feels nice and non-commercial.

Not child friendly! Do not go to this place with kids! The people guarding it are extremely mean and unfriendly, totally authoritarian and hostile, obviously not parents! The trails are not marked. I was stepping half a foot in the grass, a guardian came to me and made me move. He got close to me and said: move out. Please save yourself a bad moment and go to The Oak Cliff Nature Preserve which is a true preserve. This is just a strip of land in the middle of buildings, run by many antisocial people.

Nice small neighborhood walking trail. The trail is kept up by those in the neighborhood and people could be seen out planting for the Spring. The trail borders homes and schools and is jagged with large visible rocks and uprooted tree roots. This trail has some beautiful picturesque areas for those who enjoy photography. The trail has no bathrooms, but does have benches or a small seating area at its entry way. It no more than a mile long, but provides a good walk for those interested in getting outdoors and on nature.

A real gem in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. Twelve Hills is covered with wild flowers. A quiet secluded area with a single circular trail that starts at a small parking lot. Slightly rough with a few small rocks to watch out for. About a third of the trail is covered by trees so you have some shade. There is a delightful cave about halfway in formed by thick overhanging branches. We spotted one picnic table on the trail as well. There is no admission fee. Lots of birds, a great place for photography or painting.

Great small park in a newly renovated area of Oak Cliff. The trail is short (less than a mile), surrounded by large, beautiful homes, trees and prairie. The trail is natural turf, sometimes has rocks. Might not be a good trail for people in wheelchairs or with limited mobility. Trail goes down and back, about 1/3 mile each way. Some mild uphill/downhill. Two nice cove areas inside of trees about the halfway point in each direction look like a shady playhouse for kids.
