The Ceasar salad had less taste to it than my mouth does when there s nothing in it but spit. If you ever wondered what it felt like to get mugged have them sit you in their outdoor area in the alley and charge you $30 a head for lunch. Would ve rather just stayed home with my wife and that s saying something. Next!

Tavernas food is just okay. There pizza is slightly better than frozen pizza you can buy at grocery store. House salad is super small portion. And there eggpant parmigiana so so. The tagliolini nero (skid ink pasta) was horrible. Every wine portion is methodically measured out at the table so dont ever expect a heavy pour. The atmosphere was lively and nice. I will not be going back.

Taverna is our favorite brunch spot in all of Dallas. The food is always amazing, the atmosphere is perfect and the mimosas keep coming! The manager, Bobby, always makes sure things are perfect for everyone. The entire staff is amazing and always seems happy to be there, and happy to see you! Cant recommend enough!

I recently dined at Taverna in Highland Park, Dallas, with a party of four, and it was the biggest letdown. The environment was incredibly loud you had to yell just to talk to the person next to you, making it impossible to enjoy any conversation. The food was equally disappointing. The French toast arrived cold and tasted plain, as if no effort whatsoever was put into preparing it. The bolognese was no better bland and completely lacking in flavor. To top it off, the service was subpar, adding to the overall disappointing experience. If youre in Dallas, do yourself a favor and skip Taverna. There are plenty of other options that wont leave you feeling let down like this place did.

I recently visited Taverna in Dallas for a Saturday brunch. I had eggs, potatoes, and sausage, which were all good. The French toast was just okay; I felt like it wasn t made with the right kind of bread, which made it less enjoyable than expected. We chose to sit on the patio, which is nicely enclosed and has AC, so it could have been a peaceful spot. Unfortunately, a group of loud guests nearby took away from the tranquility. Despite the noise, the service was great; the waiter was attentive and brought everything promptly. The restaurant was very busy, but it was clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a decent brunch experience, with good service but some room for improvement with the food and ambiance.

Came here for mimosas and ended up eating breakfast. OMG. Our waiter Jose, was amazing! He said the special was a chicken Parmesan with eggs and potatoes truffle oil on the side. The presentation was amazing but the food was AMAZINGER!! Yes we will be coming back. My whole family loved everything they ordered and Jose was just the best waiter.

Had a real nice meal, Meet the GM, Bobby from Oahu, Our waiter Dustin was very nice. I schooled him on Hyper Decanting Wine, but the Cab we had didnt need it. He had a wonderful personality and help make my birthday celebration that much more fun. Next birthday I will bring him bottle of Ripple 1972, lol just kidding. The Scallops were great and so were the short rips. All in all we had a great time. Really enjoyed our first dinning experience with you and your staff very nice job. Four stars because it is a bit noisy. Maybe egg crate the ceiling hidden by the flower will absorb noise. Place in Spokane called the Onion did and it work well. See you soon! Parking: Valet, nice job, just a few steps to the restaurant.

I recently ordered the Tagliolini al Nero di Seppia e Scampi through DoorDash, which was described as handmade squid ink tagliolini with shrimp, garlic, white wine, and grape tomatoes in a butter sauce. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what was advertised. After a few bites in, I noticed something strange there were pieces of ground beef mixed in with the pasta. This was odd and completely unexpected, given that the dish was supposed to feature seafood, not meat. As I continued to inspect my meal, I found a few pieces of white linguine mixed in, which clearly didn t belong in a dish described as squid ink tagliolini. To make matters worse, the random presence of ground beef and white pasta made me feel like the dish had been either mixed with something that was already eaten or half-eaten before being sent to me. This was an extremely unsettling experience that made me question the hygiene and preparation practices of the restaurant.

Went to celebrate a friends birthday we thought it would be enjoyable based on the reviews. However the food did not satisfy. The service was terrible it took forever to get drinks from our waiter, we kept looking around wondering when we would get to order food. We finally were able to hunt our server down and ordered the focaccia and Margherita pizza. The pizza and focaccia lacked flavor, it tasted bland and many at the table said it was mediocre.

Taverna is a nice little place in the corner of Knox neighborhood. Its classy, but still casual so you can go there and grab a beer and a pizza or have an entree and a cocktail/glass of wine just as easily. Its frequently busy here, which is a good sign that the restaurant is good. The location is first-rate. Its a bit cramped on the inside with the tables pretty close together, but they have freestanding coat racks which make up for that (more or less) in the winter. The service is decent and the food is good too. Its in a great location for Kety Trail access and for retail therapy nearby in the shopping district. The prices could be a little better and the food selection is somewhat limited. Overall, its not a bad option if you are in the area. It wouldnt be my first choice if I was looking for a place ahead of time for a reservation. Parking can also be a challenge now that a new hotel is being built where the lot used to be. Parking: It used to be easy, but those days are over.

We ordered through Uber Eats based on the positive reviews but were thoroughly disappointed. Our order included the Cacio e Pepe with meatballs, Paglia E Fieno, Chef s Focaccia and Cannoli. Everything lacked flavor and salt. The focaccia was was lifeless, dry and not traditional in the least. There was a chicken bone in the paglia e fieno, which was overly sauced and contained overcooked, dry chicken. The cannoli was also overdone and resembled a fried wonton more than it did a traditional cannoli. Not a pleasant dining experience, and certainly not worth the cost. There are far better Italian options in Dallas, so I would highly recommend choosing one that isn t this place.

A few months back I had a special of theirs, a Ribeye with a truffle butter that the chef himself makes. That was the greatest meal of my life. I have tried the greatest Italian restaurants in Dallas and even some spots in New York, but that special by the chef here still tops it all. I didn t stop smiling for 24 hours. I thought maybe I had been dosed with something. This time I got Risotto Tartufo and truffle fries. The Risotto was packed with unique and earthy flavors that each played well off of each other and waited their turn to interact with my taste buds. My waiter was Jose Luis, he was very kind and waited patiently as I enjoyed my meal. The manager, Bobby, would stop to check in on me from time to time and made sure the work environment in the restaurant was orderly and pleasant to be around. I finished my night with a coffee, tiramisu, and that feeling you get when you leave your best friends house, I just can t wait to come back.

Went there with a party of six. Food and drinks were delicious and refreshing. Be prepared to spend a little more, but you get what you pay for in terms of food quality, service, and overall atmosphere.

Tried to visit on a Sunday for brunch but did not have reservations. They were packed! So if youre planning to do brunch, make reservations. We came back on Monday for a late lunch and were glad we did. The atmosphere is interesting. Casual with open kitchen, dining room concept. Could you use a fresh coat of paint and a little updating of Decor. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. For starters, we shared the beet root salad and meatballs, both excellent choices. The generous portion of meatballs (which could be a meal itself) are legit Italian. You can taste the savory herbs and spices in the delicious homemade gravy. For our entrees, we had the special risotto with crab and shrimp and salmon. Both were wonderful! Shrimp was a bit overcooked, but over all, dish was good. We had 2 desserts, the Cannoli, which was obviously homemade and tasted wonderful. The clear winner was the flourless molten lava cake. We shared a bottle of wine, the special seasonal Spritz and Cappachino. All the food tasted so good that we just had to get a specialty pizza to go for later! Glad we did, it was wonderful!Definitely, for the cost of the meal and the experience, it is worth the cost, which was reasonable for the value and quantity!! You definitely wont leave hungry. We highly suggest you visit and will definitely be back as we have now found our special date night restaurant. Parking: First left past restaurant A valet Will park your car for five dollars.

Excellent place for extraordinary Italian food. We celebrated our daughters birthday at Taverna and we felt like we had been transported to a quaint fuori restaurant in Rome. Stellar service...Every morsel of food superb!! We started with the fritto misto-Perfectly fried and salted, calamari, shrimp, zucchini and eggplant. Veal parmigiana with spaghetti pomodoro was tender and delicious. Tagliolini scampi with shrimp was a tangy, garlicky, capery, lemon delight! My favorite hands down was the homemade fiocchi al gorgonzola. Pillowy pasta, filled with creamy gorgonzola, pears, walnuts, arugula in a light cream sauce. This dish should be experienced by all! Minestrone soup was good and so was the ceasar salad. The only thing I could say that is a negative is the tiramisu...not because it wasnt good, because it was, but because it was too small...it was the only thing on the menu not worth the $$

A group of friends wanted to come here because theyd heard of Tavernas brunch. The eggs benedict were very good, nothing unique or extraordinary. I ordered the regular eggs benedict, with a side of ham, However, my friends ordered the Salmon version, and they look amazing. Next time, Ill order that version of eggs Benedict. The place was pretty, the staff were friendly. We had a wonderful time.

Bad experience with the hostess. When I asked for a table, she immediately told me it was going to be 1 hour and a half wait even though half of the restaurant was empty. I asked my daughter to doble check just to make sure and they gave us a table immediately. My daughter is white by the way. I can not think of a reason why the hostess didnt want to give me a table. Other than that, the experience was great.

Kitchen doesn t have a clue, service was friendly but unaware and even when I brought to his attention that our eggs were basically well done (supposed to be poached, and I specifically asked for a very soft poach), he didn t address that in any way. Bellinis are pure sugar, not real peach purée. Carbonara wasn t even close to what carbonara is, and again, poached eggs were more like hard boiled for 2 of the 4 of us. GM did reach out upon reading this review and was very kind and offered to remedy the situation.

We had not been to Taverna for a while and we were overwhelmingly and pleasantly satisfied. The food was superb, the setting and ambiance on the outdoor front patio was very pleasant and the service and hospitality were outstanding. We would especially like to thank Alyssa (the general manager) for extending us the most gracious and generous hospitality and making our meal most memorable and enjoyable. We look forward to our next visit.

We come here all the time and it s great service and food alike But, We get take out and it taste like 3 day-old Parmesan with melted butter. 100 dollars worth of food my wife s burger was rare she ordered it medium. We love this place but it s like a ghost kitchen is cooking their take out. At least the McDonald s that I ordered because I was so hungry was consistent.

Taverna is located in Uptown near the Katy Trail. This means that parking can be challenging. We had great service! Dietary restrictions limited my choices. They do have gluten free pasta available. I opted for a gluten free pizza instead. There werent any gf desserts in the menu. Dietary restrictions: Some items contain pine nuts, so cross contamination may be a concern. While the rice is gluten free, it is also enriched, so I could not eat it. They do have gluten free pizza crust and pasta available. Parking: Two hour limit on the free spaces nearby

First photo was how I expected my risotto to look (previous dining experience at same location), but when I visited again they seem to have switched up the recipe. Definitely not as good as the first time. I came in specifically for the risotto thats supposed to be one of the best in Dallas, thats no longer the case. Nice waitress, but thats about it.

Alyssa will not listen to issues when pressed - more worried about sitting at the bar to do color floor charts rather helping or listening. Additionally, she is not concerned about true guest concerns. I come here 4x a week (sometimes 3x) and was totally blown off. Very disappointing for a patron that visits so frequently. Maybe I need to consider going elsewhere which is sad because this is my favorite spot.

This spot offers quality Italian food in a nice neighborhood environment. Plenty of outdoor seating and the patio is dog friends + has plenty of heaters. Staff was knowledgeable not only on the menu but on the wine list as well. We started with the Taverna Focaccia, Beet Salad, and the Fritto Misto. All three were fantastic, fresh beets were great and the focaccia was sort of like a pizza with delicious pickled onions and shaved Parmesan on top. For entrees, my wife and I split the spaghetti carbonara and the filetto di manzo, which was a filet over truffle mashed potatoes served with carrots, asparagus and a Chianti wine sauce. I got medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and the truffle mashed potatoes were insanely good. The carbonara was solid, not out of this world but a good dish.

Anything you order from the menu is delicious! I will suggest as a starter a Carpaccio di Manzo, one of the best ones I have tried. If you want an extra touch dont forget to add balsamic vinegar and olive oil, you wont regret it. We also ordered veal parmigiana and fruti di mare with capellini. To finish a great tiramusi, you wont like to share! The service is always welcoming and checking if we needed anything. The food speaks for itself. I always come back when Im in town.

We visited and had appetizers and mimosas. We had the meatballs and flatbread. We had both orange juice mimosas and peach flavored. There were quite a few people that. Actually, it was very busy. But the way the place is set up, I didnt feel crowded in. This was only my second visit. My first was at dinner years ago. Both experiences were great. And with this brunch experience, Ill definitely be back.
