A lovely friend of mine recommended me here, and I will definitely be coming back again! This is my second time here, we went out for a Brunch, I had the Lamb Chops, which were beautifully seared and had the perfect balance between flavor and texture. I would definitely recommend it! I also had the Texas Caesar Salad on the side, which was quite good. I loved the vinaigrette they had paired with it! And we shared a bottle of their Sparkling Champagne!

A few weeks ago was our 4th visit to Fearings. Our culinary experience began with what I consider perfect ambiance, well appointed room, that s beautifully classic, well designed, warm, cozy and comfortable. Now the important part, the food and service. Greeted and seated by a superbly nice staff. Dean Fearings cuisine without a doubt, is FIVE STAR*. Our meal started with palette quenching Amuse-bouche, then the perfect horduevers, beef carpaccio and foie gras. The flavors were extraordinary and were accompanied by a complimentary petite bottle of Sauterne. Main course beef & lobster and buffalo filet were such a terrific culinary experience. The food temperature was perfect and couldn t have had better flavors. Our waiter Xavier was perfect and on top of every aspect of making our experience what it was. Cant wait to be back! So we tried it and it is just We ordered the seasonal 3 course meal and we also did wine pairing. Just amazing. My first time trying steak and boom I fell in love. We got the chefs special appetizer, chicken tacos, tortilla soup, antelope steak, and for dessert we got the signature banana pudding with Bignets. The steak was impeccable, the creamy sweetness of banana pudding paired with the soft warm freshly baked cinnamon sugar coated bignets was such a delight to eat. I just wanna visit the restaurant again!

I made a return visit to Fearings during Restaurant Week. The experience was unforgettable. Ive found that there can be a stigma when choosing the Restaurant Week option at restaurants. There can be a lazy approach. This might be a false perception. It might be accurate. Yet, there was no such feeling this trip. Xavier and the rest of the team made the night perfect. The food was on point. A delightful balance of visual whimsy and decadent flavor. There was no difference between the Restaurant Week options and selections made from the à la carte menu. However, the hospitality and service provided by Xavier and the rest of the team put the night over the top. While my dining experiences at Fearings over the years have always been great, this latest one was by far the best. A true, full representation of the reputation Fearings has built over the years.

I had a wonderful experience at Fearings. My wife and I came here for restaurant week 2024 and everything we ordered from the special menu was superb. The soup was poured table-side and was very tasty. The tuna tataki provided a unique Southwest take on a Japanese classic. My wife ordered the striped bass and I had to hold myself back from licking the plate clean after tasting the sauce. The antelope was beautifully presented and brought together a wonderful assortment of Southwest flavours. And the banana pudding... Ill never look at one the same again. and above all else the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating to our dietary restrictions. Please make an effort to visit this restaurant if you are in Dallas. You will not be disappointed!

Fearing s Restaurant in Dallas, Texas, offers an elegant setting and a menu that celebrates Southern cuisine with a modern twist, but the experience falls short of exceptional. While the upscale ambiance and sophisticated décor create a pleasant dining environment, the food quality is inconsistent dishes like the Texas Wagyu Beef and Pan-Seared Scallops show potential but can be hit-or-miss in terms of execution. Service is generally attentive but lacks the polish expected at this level, with occasional delays and lapses in attentiveness. Overall, Fearing s is a solid choice for a refined meal but may not fully justify its high-end reputation and pricing.

They deserve to be shut down, and they are a disgrace to fine dining restaurants everywhere

Visiting Fearing s restaurant located in the luxurious Ritz Carlton, Dallas, offered a dining experience that was both unique and exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, the warmth and personal touch were evident as the staff greeted and addressed me by name throughout the evening, adding a special flair to the service and making the experience feel very personal and welcoming. One cannot miss trying the African herb tea. It s a unique and delicious beverage that instantly warms you with its flavors. Another notable mention is the famous Dean s Tortilla Soup. It s prepared right at your table, which is quite the spectacle! Just temper your excitement slightly it s essentially broth poured over a bed of fresh ingredients, but it s still a nice touch but it may be a little overrated. Even if youre not a regular meat-eater like myself, the chicken breast dish here is highly recommended. It was succulent, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked, demonstrating the kitchens high culinary standards. Dining at Fearing s was an absolute pleasure great food, attentive service, and a friendly atmosphere. It s a prime example of Dallas s fine dining scene, and I would urge anyone looking for an exceptional meal to give it a try. Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options, but don t get hung up on the menu. There are some options when you arrive at the restaurant.

We went for our anniversary. We were seated in a very cold, bleak nearly empty room. Our server was very attentive. The appetizers were quite good. We waited quite awhile for entrees, antelope, which appeared to have been thrown on the plates and were cold. The plates were even cold. The food was gummy and gelatinous. The dreary room, freezing temps and cold food all equaled a bad experience. We left half our bottle of wine and didn t eat the entrees but were charged for everything. This was our second disappointing meal at Fearing s. We won t be back.

This was a small post wedding dinner with family. The reservations were made well in advance and there had been several calls back and forth to plan this special event. That said, in actuality there was nothing at all special about it! It was less than a run of the mill dinner. The service was erratic and uneven. The main server seemed inexperienced. More than the average number of people were involved in all of it and it was strange. Cocktail and drink service was sorely lacking, slow and the timing was off. The smoked butter and bread assortment was unique, but all pieces of the bread were tough as if they had been rewarmed in a microwave. Later charger plates were removed, but the hard bound menus remained at each place. The amuse bouche (tiny tart shell filled with Boursin cheese) was served in a little silver plate ON TOP OF THE MENU which no doubt had been handled by an untold number of people!!! My daughter ordered a bottle of wine for the table and after at first coming to tell her they couldnt find the bottle, they brought ONE glass. Never saw a sommeIier. I had thought that perhaps there would have been a complimentary champagne toast or something similar to mark the occasion, but nothing. An amateurish disappointment. Want something extra special and seamless to please a group? Go to Pappas Brothers in Dallas.

No sauce needed for this masterpiece. I cant complain about a single item I had. Honestly Im returning for the steak. Great place for a date or business meeting. 15/10 P.S GET THE TOTS. I had been to Fearings before and had good experiences each time. However, this year I went for Christmas brunch and was disappointed in the food and options. When I booked I was not informed this was a buffet style brunch. It lacked options and some of the food was not very flavorful. Some of the dishes didn t seem fresh at all. One of them even had surprise chicken bones in it. They could ve chosen better types of dishes selected for this event buffet. Service was good as usual though. For the price per person + the added 20% service charge, I expect much higher quality of food and better selection . My recommendation to the restaurant would be to be more transparent on whether holiday events are buffet style or not, and also offer a menu beforehand. Very disappointed and don t plan on going back to Fearings.

There was a power outage, but this actually just made the dinner that much more romantic. The service was exceptional, which one would expect at this price point. I was excited about dining at Fearing s for our special Anniversary dinner as we had dined there many years ago and were blown away by the service and food. Not this time - the food was truly below average, with some items just inedible: the scallops were salty beyond belief (and love salt!), the crab cake on the appetizer plate had an off putting flavor, the cute chocolate dessert provided for us was dry and tasteless, etc. Even worse, the service was on par with Applebees: there were no specials and our waitress could not answer basic questions about the standard menu items. The sommelier did a very nice job though. I don t know where Dean Fearing is these days, but I am sure he hasn t been near his namesake restaurant in months. This place needs to be recycled.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Fearing Restaurant located in uptown Dallas, and I must say that it was an incredible experience. The restaurant delivered on its promise of providing a memorable dining experience, both through its delectable cuisine and top-notch staff. Lets start with the food - it was simply outstanding. Every dish we ordered was crafted with expertise and attention to detail. From the appetizers to the main courses, I was blown away by the flavors and presentation. The menu offered a wide range of options, catering to various culinary preferences. Whether you are a seafood lover or a steak connoisseur, Fearing Restaurant has something for everyone. The highlight of the meal for me was the perfectly cooked steak. It was cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. Accompanied by a creative fusion of side dishes, every bite was a delight to the taste buds. The extensive wine list also impressed me, offering a fantastic selection to pair with the meal. The staff at Fearing Restaurant truly elevated the dining experience. They were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with warm smiles and immediately made to feel welcome. The servers were well-informed about the menu, recommending dishes and providing insights into the ingredients and cooking techniques. The attention to detail and the passion they displayed for their work was evident throughout our time there. However, I must mention that Fearing Restaurant can be quite pricey. It is definitely a special occasion kind of place rather than an everyday dining spot. The quality of the food and service justifies the prices, but it might not be accessible to everyones budget. Overall, my experience at Fearing Restaurant was exceptional. The combination of exceptional cuisine and exemplary staff made for a truly memorable dining experience. If you are looking for an upscale dining experience in uptown Dallas and are willing to splurge a bit, I highly recommend giving Fearing Restaurant a try.

Great only if you get patio seating the inside is little quite . The desserts were okay and coffee little pricey but if I had patio seating I would not mind the price for ambiance My review of my second visit : full dinner The service we received was exceptional, deserving of a five-star rating. Our waitress was attentive from the moment we sat down, making us feel welcome and taken care of. While the tortilla soup is one of their popular dishes, I personally enjoyed other entrees more. I highly recommend the beef fillet and fried lobster, which were both cooked to perfection. The quality of the meat was evident in every bite, and even though I requested it well done, it remained juicy and flavorful. To cap off our anniversary dinner, the restaurant surprised us with a small dessert, which was a lovely touch. When we asked for the check, they even brought us some delicious chocolate pastries from the Pastry Chef. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that I highly recommend.

I recently dined at Dean Fearings Restaurant (my birthday dinner) and I am blown away by the quality of the meal and the level of hospitality offered by the chef, Dean Fearing himself. From the decor, ambiance to the food, everything about this restaurant exudes style and class. To start, the appetizer was deliciously crafted by the chefs team who skillfully combined unique flavors to create savory and tangy bites. My main course, the Wagyu steak was cooked to perfection and was extremely filling. Accompanied by an excellent wine selection, it was definitely a meal to savor. What truly stood out was the personal touch that Chef Dean Fearing brings to his restaurant. He made rounds to greet all the diners and made sure I felt welcomed and appreciated. His warm and friendly demeanor was infectious and added a special feeling to the dining experience. I would highly recommend Dean Fearings Restaurant to anyone looking for a magnificent dining experience. The delightful menu, impeccable service, and cordiality of Chef Dean Fearing all come together to make this establishment an unforgettable experience. I will surely be back!

My beautiful bride of 24 years and I hit up Fearings for our anniversary dinner. Wow! Immediately after being seated, Chef Fearing came by and introduced himself. So nice and personable. For starters, Deans Tortilla Soup, and Texas Caesar Salad. Sonia had the Pan Seared Eastern Shore Sea Scallops, and I had the Achiote Glazed Broken Arrow Ranch Nilgai Antelope (not kidding - the most tender cut of meat Ive ever had. So good). A celebratory piece of wedding cake, a couple Old Fashions and glasses of wine... what a great evening. What a great 24 years! Fantastic service. Stellar food. Well be back.

Good food for sure. But the last three times we have been we there noticed two major things. First off the servers are extremely slow. Waiters are not very friendly and our reservation was at 7:30 and we did finish paying until after 10pm. That is definitely a management issue. Second, the music is weird and doesn t go with the place. Won t go back bc not worth the price if you re not getting a full experience for the caliber of restaurant.

This is my third time at Fearing s and it s always such a world class experience. You might have 4 or 5 people helping you with your dining experience and they always have the best recommendations. The thing that surprised me the most was how tenured the waitstaff is. They love working for Dean and many have been working there since it opened. The best thing we had was the carpaccio with beef and eel (pictured). Go here for a special occasion!

Ruined a birthday brunch. It was obvious this place is not well managed as it used to be. It is a shame this famed restaurant does not keep up with food quality but not shy about overcharging. Avocado toast did not have avocado- instead they decided to serve with pre-made salty guacamole spread. Chicken fried lobster salad that had two pieces of dry fried lobster over cobb salad was a total joke: menu had it for $32 but they ran my tab for $36. Somehow I felt it was intentional mistake since the place had more staff than customers (place was almost empty) they had to make up for their revenue loss somehow. I didnt want to ruin our birthday brunch for the group so I didnt bring it up to their attention. With so many good restaurants forced to close during Covid, I am amused that this one is still around.

I hadn t been to Fearing s in about 15 years. Please remember this is southwest cuisine so it will have that flavor. Everything was OK. The vegan menu with the exception of the jackfruit taco was almost in edible the flavor was good but it was like eating fried baby food The deserts were good. The chef Dean Fearing came by all the tables. He is always so gracious and personable. The decor is dated but the restaurant and bar always has a lot of good energy.
