Going through any legal battle with an ex that involves your children and family law is not easy or a laughing matter. I was with my previous attorney and found that they couldnt properly handle the complexity of our case. My previous attorney also wasnt professional enough to admit that to me and made some questionable decisions that led me to find a new attorney. Lisa was recommended to me as well as a few others, but Lisa and her team were like finding new long lost family members. She listened to what had been happening and understood my needs and I decided she was the way to go. Lisa, Paul, Brenda and Jessica are all so kind and compassionate! My previous attorney would constantly have me sounding like a broken record by never listening and asking the same things over and over while charging me for those pointless repeat conversations. Lisa and her team remember those important conversations and make you feel like a human being and not just another dollar walking through the door. They are professional, there is nothing hidden and they keep communication flowing during the process. Lisa is tough and confident in the courtroom. She understands the law and advocates for you and your children for the best outcome! I saw several reviews from people who werent her clients on here, as they said so in their reviews. I have never seen a more inappropriate attorney practice law. She badgers witnesses and appears to delight in asking inappropriate questions despite them being successfully objected to just to damage credibility all While incorrectly spouting HIPAA laws that she clearly does not understand.

I would give Lisa 10000 stars if I was able. She is hands down the best lawyer in Dallas. I m a black father and was given bad legal advice by a previous lawyer that put me in a hole in my case. If you look for a family trial attorney who can be tough with the your ex and eat the other attorney for breakfast, or just negotiate with them and get results, look no where else. I was involved in high complex lengthily child custody case and I lost, costing me hundreds of thousands of dollars. The moment I found Lisa, she requested my entire file and was prepared to discuss her strategy how to handle my case and she lowered my child support a lot, despite my high income. Lisas retainer was fair, despite her hourly $500, her billing was fair and cost me a whole lot less than my previous trial attorney . Her staff was very prompt to return calls and e mails and Lisa kept me informed of all the aspects of the case and discussed listened and explained everything in simple terms . Her many years of experience and her vast knowledge of Texas child custody laws and her attention to details, made sure she obtained me a favorable results and less than favorable results for my ex.

My hearing took place on March 28, 2017. Lisa was amazing! I have hired other attorneys in the past to help me with my case but no one stood up for me and rocked like she did. When I walked out of the court room in the past I felt like I lost and my ex won again and again and again. Lisa stopped that cold and instead of playing defense at court Lisa was on the offense the whole time, and the Judge saw right through my ex s lies finally. My daughter and I would like to thank you. They use an application called MyCase which keeps their clients at arms length and out of communication. It fails viable communication between attorney and client. They bill for many nonessential attorney communications which do not further cases. I have found their recommendations for supporting professionals in psychology and other arenas to be unhelpful. As a parent in need of strong custody advocates without even trial encounters, they sucked. Lisa and the people she has hired are incompetent and unresourceful in the Dallas county family court system. I am sadly disappointed in the choice of this lawfirm after 13 months of no progress in my family custody situation.

We had a complex, high-asset divorce case that had been mishandled by a previous attorney, and had been allowed to drag on for over 4 years with no end in sight! The stress was unimaginable. When I conducted my research for a new attorney (I research EVERYTHING!), I contacted several attorneys. Most seemed more interested in the fees...and some of those retainer fees...OMG!! Lisa, Gene and their staff were amazing. Immediately after the initial consultation, which we did over the phone, I knew we had chosen the right attorney. And if I had any doubts (which I didnt), they would have been eliminated after we came in to meet with Lisa and Gene face to face. Talk about go-getter, no-nonsense high energy!! She had the whole staff working on this case, and the confidence she exuded was very reassuring. We spent hours going over every detail. Watching her work was like watching one of those scripted high-profile lawyer shows on TV, only this was real life. Shed decide that expert appraisers were needed for this asset or that asset and shed get them on the phone right then and there. She asked questions that had not been asked previously; questions that only come from experience. And they were questions that made a difference. Her and Gene worked in tandem - she would start a sentence and he would finish it. Or she would work on one aspect of the case and he would work on another. While they were working, their paralegals were right in sync, moving around and between them, handing them copies of this or that or printing off whatever was needed so they never missed a beat. If so much personal information hadnt been discussed I would love to have videoed the whole scene. And when we went to trial - oh man! What I can tell you is that she was surgical! Gene was there, her lead paralegal was there and it was ON!! Due to the complexity of the case, the trial lasted for hours. Every detail was covered and in the end the judge had a clear, and most importantly, an ACCURATE picture of the facts and the decision was fair and even - which was the goal from the onset 5 years before. If youre researching family law attorneys, the law firm of Lisa McKnight is the way to go. Lisa is well respected in the courts and has the expertise to get the job done in a professional manner. She only practices family law as opposed to some other attorneys who also do family law. Trust me, it makes a big difference!
