I worked with Deontae Wherry at Rob Wiley, P.C. in Dallas to resolve an employment dispute with my former company. Deontae was extremely responsive and transparent throughout the entire process, clearly setting expectations for both the process and the likely outcomes. In the end, we achieved a result that was very close to what I had requested. I have great respect for Deontae s hard work and strong communication skills. He consistently kept me informed and allowed me to make the final decisions on negotiations, all while providing reasonable guidance on the best course of action. The service I received was top-notch, and although I hope I never need to hire an attorney for an employment dispute again, I would, without hesitation, work with Deontae again. The legal service I received was exceptional, and I highly recommend Deontae Wherry to anyone in need of help with employment disputes.

I am uncertain why this firm of Rob Wiley is in everyone s referral list or why they have a reputation of being a closer with results because THEY ARE NOT. I preface this review by my personal experience with this firm and this is my opinion. I contacted the firm of Rob Wiley in the spring of 2023 and paid the expensive consultation fee to speak with Deontae an attorney at the firm who told me that he could get me a settlement of $39-$40k but my employer would ask me to resign. I had filed with the EEOC so I decided not to pursue at this time. In September I was terminated when my employer was served with a charge and I contacted Rob Wiley again in February 2024 after failed efforts with the previous employer through the EEOC. I had to pay yet another consultation fee because I was then told that the consultation fee was only good for 30 days. I contacted them because the first consultation, Deontae was so cocky and arrogant that I gathered he knew what he was doing and would get results BIG MISTAKE Would have been nice to know that up front when the first one was conducted. After voicing my disgust with having to pay another consultation fee when the 30 day rule was not communicated with me, he agreed to give me a slight discount. He would not give me his retainer fee until I paid for the consultation. The first time I have ever seen an attorney not give their fee until you paid them a consultation fee. I completed the consultation and he gave me his retainer fee. We reviewed the contract days later and he assigned my case to Harjeen. I was not too impressed by her from the start because she did not seem to have the fire in her approach that was needed but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. As weeks went on, I could see that she really was not a strong attorney and when we spoke I would ask her questions and she would respond saying I do not have a crystal ball or something sarcastic like that. A couple months passed and she informed me that all that time she was unable to get the defense atty on the phone. MAJOR PROBLEM. At this point Deontae or Rob Wiley should have stepped in because anytime an atty cannot get defense atty on the phone, there is a reason. Well more months passed and there was no reasonable offer and she said she still was not able to get the other attorney on the phone. About three weeks or so ago Harjeen called me to inform me that there had still been no communication from the other side and this firm would not have the capacity to take this case to court and she said that her experience in suing this company with this defense atty in the past was they would move if we sent them the lawsuit draft and right to sue letter from the EEOC. Thinking her experience she said she had with this company and her mindset, I took her at her word and gave approval to request the right to sue letter from EEOC. Receiving the right to sue letter, a plaintiff has 90 days from the date of the letter to file a suit. She gave them a 2 week deadline to respond and they did not and then she sends me an email telling me that my case with them had closed on 7/30/2024.Her experience was yet again lacking solid results. This was thousands of dollars wasted and the fact that they do a client like this should be criminal. The fact that Deontae would not give me a retainer fee amount until I paid another consultation fee, made me believe they were about their business but obviously they are not able to deliver on the result to match his arrogance or either they were intimidated by the other firm. Either way, they did not deliver - How they are referred is one thing but I know I would not rely on the firm of Rob Wiley to argue a traffic ticket for me.

I had an initial consultation with Deontae Wherry, I appreciated his professionalism and concern for the issue in which I inquired about. He discussed the pros on cons and went over with me how the matter could be resolved. I was assigned to attorney Harjeen Zibari, she was straightforward, knowledgeable, respectful, detailed oriented with everything I discussed with her. She was exceptionally organized and was able to easily communicate what I needed to do, how to prepare, what not to do, and she was easily reachable via phone or eMail. Harjeen Zibari Responded promptly to any questions I had, whether simple or complicated, and she explained to me what processes are going on through out the whole matter; what to expect realistically, as well as being able to explain the legal processes clearly and in an understandable way that one would remember. Hello my name is Catheryn Solórzano, today I had a 15 min consultation with Paige Melendez who you will not find listed or pictured on Wiley company website. I found her information on Justia and felt that I could give her a chance as everyone starts somewhere. So I paid $250 for a 45 min consultation for her to say that she does not feel like she could do what my case would need. I do not appreciate this firm for wasting my time and money. I feel that the paid consultation was more of a filter process for them to find low hanging fruit. Very disappointed, I would not recommend and they need to do a better job during the intake process. People do not enjoy paying hundreds of dollars and taking time off from work just to be told you don t think you can do what their case needs.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences of our life. After paying them $5K back in May 2023 for a discrimination case, we (my wife and I) received very little communication from them over a 9 month period. Every time we reached out for updates, we felt like we were annoying them and we were not even their clients. After numerous attempts of communication, we started to raise serious concerns and then they dropped us as a client with zero communication. This was a complete waste of $5K and I feel as though we were scammed.

I have been working with an attorney out of Missouri and when it became evident that a lawsuit was the next step, they referred me to speak with Dallas-based attorneys and Rob Wiley was one of the suggestions. On Jan 11, 2024, the Missouri attorney called Wileys firm to speak with them about the case and setup a possible consultation with them. Wileys office said they needed to speak with me directly and there was a possibility of waiving the $250 consultation fee, but they wanted to talk to me first. I called and although they didnt ask me anything specific, they told me the same - there is a possibility of the consult fee being waived but it had to be reviewed by the attorney(s) and they would get back to me, but if I dont hear anything by Thurs/Fri of the following week, to follow-up with them. MLK Day was Jan 15th, and I figured they probably had a short-week, so I waited until Jan 23rd to call for a follow-up. The receptionist was very firm on no consultation fee, no attorney and I explained that I had been told something different on Jan 11th. She offered to put me on hold as if she was going to check with someone, but then she didnt and she asked for my name. She said she didnt see anything in the system for me, so I asked her to check under the Missouri attorneys name and she said she didnt see anything under him, either and reiterated no consultation fee, no attorney and ended the conversation.

Disappointing Experience with Austin Campbell @ Rob Wiley, P.C. Law Firm. I recently had the unfortunate experience of engaging with the Rob Wiley P.C. Law Firm in pursuit of resolving a discrimination and retaliation case against a government entity from which I was wrongfully terminated. Regrettably, my encounter with the firm left much to be desired, prompting me to share my opinions and personal experiences here. Despite an initial investment of a $7,000 retainer for efforts to obtain private mediation with Respondent, my interactions with the firm (over a 5 month-ish period) were marked by minimal engagement and a lack of communication. I initially presented my case to their partner attorney, Deontae Wherry. He was engaged and I could sense empathy in the dialogue I had with him. Unfortunately, after signing the contract, the handling of my case by Austin Campbell, to whom I was predominantly delegated, raised significant concerns about the firms commitment to prioritizing and understanding the complexities of my situation. Communication breakdowns were evident at the beginning of the case interview process. I spoke for about 90 minutes with Austin to provide my case timeline and answer his questions. Unfortunately, I never felt I was being heard. Attempts to share my perspective were repeatedly cut off in order to fill out what I believed was a form template (very junior). I raised these communications concerns with Deontae & a meeting was called. The firm verbally addressed my concerns, but the promises made during a group meeting with the partner attorney yielded no tangible improvements. I was relegated to the back seat while the process was supposed to be moving forward. At the conclusion of my engagement with the firm, I reviewed Austins activity statement. It appeared to me that logical actions, such as a reach-out phone call to Respondent s attorneys office, and communication with the EEOC was also minimal. When the Respondent provided a position statement, I was only briefed on high-level positions the Respondent took, without seeing the actual pretext response document. The revelation of false statements and omitted key facts in the Respondents position statement, obtained through a FOIA request after the firm terminated my contract, was deeply troubling. Had I been informed of the entirety of the Respondents position, I could have provided crucial documents & complete evidence for consideration, potentially altering the course of my case. The construction of a weak lawsuit covering only 2/3 of my charges, coupled with the lack of proactive communication, underscored the firms apparent disregard for the complexity of my case. It seems that, in their pursuit of lucrative cases, the firm neglects those with less monetary potential. The frustration stemming from irregular updates, inconvenient timing of calls, and the necessity to navigate a call center to reach Austin right after he called me, reflects a systemic issue in client prioritization. It appears that the firm is content with collecting retainers and undertaking minimal efforts, particularly for cases deemed of low priority. Overall, my personal experience with Austin and the Rob Wiley P.C. Law Firm has left me thoroughly disappointed. This opinion of disappointment is rooted in what I perceived to be a lack of effort, unwillingness to comprehend the intricacies of my case, and the absence of value for the retainer fee lead me to advise against choosing this firm. Furthermore, I dont feel Austin fully explored all legal avenues & challenged the Respondent as much as a lawyer would have if they had the best interests of their clients in mind. Clients like us are looking for that voice to be heard and represented. The cases matter to us. Save your money and seek legal representation elsewhere.

I originally had my consultation with Jairo Castellanos who was kind, casual, and explained everything to me in detail. When I wanted to hire the firm for an appeals hearing, a scheduling conflict prevented Jairo from representing me. I was told he would refer me to a colleague who would be available and wed be in touch. I didnt hear back for some time and called regularly once a week on Friday to check in. Ultimately the Friday before my hearing I was set up with Austin Campbell. Austin Campbell was amazing, 5-stars, 10/10. He was very professional and asked great fact finding questions to help clarify my situation. I could not be happier with the representation Austin provided. While Austin Campbell deserves 5 stars himself, Im going to have to give the firm 4 stars. I worry if I hadnt been on top of calling back to check the status of the referral, it may have been lost. Though, the representation was worth the minor inconvenience. This was also around 12/10 - 12/20 so holiday scheduling may have been a nightmare...

I was curious regarding an issue with an employer and their actions. At intake I went into explicit details and was instructed to speak further with an attorney. In a nutshell the attorney said,Texas is VERY Pro-Employer. Youd have to have literally a criminal or flagrant claim in order for it to even be considered Now, for me who is not a Legal eagle I find it troubling that this information could have been conveyed at my intake! Even if the party asking questions is not an attorney it would be of great decision consideration of moving forward if that non legal information had been provided!. That answer cost me roughly $200 dollars for a 2 minute call. And attorneys wonder why their ridiculed!!

Please stay away from this firm. I too paid the consult fee and told I had a case. Once I paid the $5,000 retainer, I was passed off some random admin lawyer (Paige) who wasn t who I spoke with originally. I m certain Deontae and Paige never reviewed my documentation. Their work is shoddy and sent to me for a review that had typos and errors. I received excuses from Paige when my phone calls and emails went unanswered. To this day I still have not received the EEOC memo they were supposed to draft .

Called this firm due to pregnancy discrimination from my job. Paid the consultation fee of 250 bucks. Spoke to one of their attorneys Deontae. My first impression was he seemed a little rushed and talked very fast. We went over a lot in the initial consultation. Second time we spoke I was advised I would have to pay him 7k towards the end of the consultation. I told him that I didn t have that kind of money. I literally just lost my job. He advised me that he didn t do a go job of explaining that part to me. Really? I hung up and felt like I literally just wasted my time. No compassion no nothing. No fee paid no help.

I worked for a local gangster in Washington state and suffered severe discrimination and retaliation. Rob analyzed succinctly that retaliation was easier to prove, so lawyer Colin submitted materials to the EEOC and settled the matter. When your states lawyers are timid, you can trust Rob Wiley. When I wrote the same review on Yelp, it was flagged as inappropriate. Im really retarded.

Don t believe the hype. They charge $500 just for a consultation, which is ridiculous since they specialize with UNEMPLOYMENT cases. Let that sit. The receptionist is rude, condescending and reads from a script. She doesn t answer basic simple questions and interrupted me while speaking and tried to over talk me. Ma am You re not in court. Find a law office that is compassionate , professional and shows empathy regarding your situation. I found Rob Wiley law to be very transactional and the receptionist is the gatekeeper. Not a a good look. There are many laws offices w/teams that will review your inquiry for free before charging you $500 to turn you away. So. after reading a previous reviewer that was quoted $250 for a consult, looks like this office picks and choose rates. What s the basis for that? We already know. Shameful.

I paid a consultation fee of $250 for a 45 minute session and timed it to only be 20 minutes... I was rushed and interrupted many times as I was trying to explain the situation. Was told that since I was out of a job for only a week that the return wouldnt be worth it... so basically i had to be out of a job and possibly out on the streets for them to MAYBE proceed with said case. All Dontae was worried about was how much settlement money would be in return. Not my justice being served, Im aware that at the end of the day its a business , but rushing and only asking me questions to dig out how much can be made is disgusting. Didnt bother to know anything else that could have possibly made the case worth it in terms of money. I wasnt going to give out anymore information giving the way Dontae wasnt even letting me finish a whole sentence of my detrimental situation no compassion what so ever. I had notes ready as well. I only give this 2 stars ( which is being nice) only because I was told Good Morning and Have a nice day... dont recommend. All skin folk aint kin folk. Dont waste your over $100 consultation fee on this place. Ps I was thrown that At will employee speech as well like some have stated in the other reviews , yet Rob Wiley is supposed to help wrongful terminated employees , make it make sense.

Stay away! They will rip you off so hard. They didnt not know, understand, or even research the pertinent laws that applied to my case. I paid nearly $8,000 for a case they told me several times had merit. They told me the state entity I was suing had violated the ADA, CARES Act, and FMLA laws. After a year and a half, the state entity I was suing pointed out to these attorneys that the state entity was actually immune to my exact type of law suite. The other party filed one court response pointing out a constitutional law (amendment 11) that simply disqualified my case which was promptly dismissed by the judge. I cant believe these attorneys (Rob and Austin) didnt even know or research the basic laws in the United States Constitution as they pertained to my case. They also have refused to repay any refund for their errors even though they should have known at the initial consultation that my case would fail and had no merit. They just lead me on to believe I had a meritorious case so they could generate work for themselves and take my money.

I needed to be sure I am complying with employment laws as relates to 1-3 caregivers hired for a family member. I did not want or need free advice, and may well need employment contracts prepared. I chose Wiley because theyre board certified and have a good reputation. I wrote through the contact us box. They were slow to respond. Then, came a short, terse answer - that they represent employees wronged in the workplace. They offered no referral - although they most certainly know employment lawyers in Dallas who represent employers. Wiley may be a great little firm; helpful they were not. I have worked for AmLaw100 Firms for decades and if we could not provide what they needed, we never let a caller off the phone without suggestions for attorneys that were better fits for their needs.

After failing to find an attorney to take my case I met with Deontae Wherry from the law offices of Rob Wiley, P.C. Deontae closely listened to the details of my case, agreed to take it on, and was upfront and honest about the possible outcomes. Deontae aggressively pursued my case, contacting me with frequent updates and developments, and never let the process slow down or get stale. I m extremely pleased with the representation I received by Deontae Wherry, and the Law Offices of Rob Wiley, P.C.

The Rob Wiley staff was very professional to work with. Quick to find answers to my questions and return my calls. After describing my unemployment issue, they directed me to Fadi Yousef, a very professional, patient, honest lawyer. I had an unemployment issue that went to appeal. During my initial consultation with Fadi, he was very patient with me as I described the issue. He has an excellent handle on the unemployment process. He felt I had a strong enough case that I may not need representation. I so appreciated that honesty. I felt more comfortable hiring him for the appeal hearing. Prior to the hearing he talked me through how it worked and reviewed possible questions. During the hearing, Fadi steered me to some points that needed to be brought to attention and entered a prior case that backed up mine into evidence. All of this, I feel, helped me win my case. The whole process was easy and the experience wonderful ending with a positive outcome in my case. I also felt the price I paid was very reasonable. Youll be well satisfied with Fadi by your side in a court of law when you only have one opportunity with a judge.

I was very skeptical about presenting my case to an attorney due to bad experiences with attorneys in my past. I was referred to Rob Wileys firm by a friend who expressed having a great experience with the firm and encouraged me to reach out to the firm. Im truly happy I did. My case was handled by Austin Campbell who was very professional, informative and timely. He laid out the timeline for me and explained thoroughly the expectations of me, the firm and the company I was filing a claim against. His communication was amazing and always timely... I would recommend this firm to anyone with employment issues, you wont be disappointed!!! Rhonda B.

was at the lowest part of my career after I was terminated from my job of 9 years. I had lost respect for people until I met Deontae Wherry. Deontae gave me reassurance that he and the law firm would do everything that was possible to ensure that I was heard and my case would be resolved. I admit, I probably wasn t the easiest client to deal with, but that did not deter him from working hard on my case. He always asked me how I felt or what I wanted during the entire process. Then he would give me his legal stance. He never made me feel uneasy in voicing my thoughts and feelings. My case was settled and I appreciate the dedication and commitment that Deontae gave to it, as well as me. I feel that he is a great asset to your firm. I would not hesitate one second to recommend Deontae Wherry and this law firm to anyone in need of an attorney in this field of law.. May God continue to bless you all in the work that you did for me and doing for others.

About a decade ago, I called Rob Wiley over a paycheck stealing boss. He welcomed me with an open door and took my case. It turned into a class action suit and it was settled out of court quickly and exceeded our expectations. He did an amazing job and I also referred him to others in need at every opportunity. Recently, I had another possible slam dunk case. I called and got a woman who told me I couldnt even email him a message, let alone explain any of my case to him unless I paid $150.00 up front. People with employment issues usually are in financial troubles so this was a shocker. I am glad he has done so well for himself but very sorry his once open door policy has fallen to the waist side. My first review a decade ago is 5 stars hands down. This review is 1 star as I couldnt even get past the guard gate without purging what little funds I have remaining. The balance of 3 stars is for both reviews. ----- Glad I could help you too your first time around.

Ive had a rather complicated issue related to my former employment. The matter was complicated not only by itself but also by the time constraints due to my visa status. During the consultation, Mr. Wiley explained in depth all the possible ramifications of my issues and assured me theyre available to represent me, unlike most of the attorneys I asked - and there were many of them. I was happy to start working with Rasha on the matter. Rasha demonstrated high professionalism and readiness to fight at every single step we moved through. Despite my former employers best efforts to drag out the matter and all the hypocrisy we had to encounter, along with the most expensive attorneys on the other side, Rasha has managed to successfully negotiate. In addition, Rasha was able to provide detailed explanations in a friendly manner every single time I was not sure about the next steps. That was a remarkable experience and I highly recommend both Rasha personally and Mr. Wileys firm to anyone having serious issues with his/her employer.

Few weeks back I met them for consultation. Online consultation is $135(10% discount). I had already sent them all my information via questionnaire. But to my surprise they havent gone it - they were only interested in me to make an appointment. When every attorney(for employees) has free 30 minutes appointment for initial consultation - why they are charging $135-$150 for at the most 20 minutes of appointment. I had appointment with Rob Wiley. He provided me very basic information which I could have got from googling also. In fact my $20 attorney from Dallas Bar association referral was better in terms of telling me what are my options. They are interested in my case but they have a retainer of $5000 plus 30% from the recovery. All they will be doing, sending a letter to Employer(demand letter). What if the employer doesnt respond or simply dont care? What if the employer is not willing to go for mediation also? then what are the options? What will happen to $5000? Well they are going to charge you flat hourly rate with no maximum cap and you know what they cant guaranty you any results? Well I truly value that they cant work for free but they are getting a cut - 30% or more so they are not working free at all. Plus $5000 is already there for them as retainer then why they are talking about flat hourly rates? Big Corporations have enough money to spend on litigations but individuals who already lost their jobs are literally getting robbed by Rob Wiley PC when they come for consultation. I havent paid you $135 or $150 to know that Texas is at-will state(yes out of 50 states and Puerto Rico) - every state is at-will state expect Montana. Yes, if the employer terminate you due to class protection that is illegal - but for that I dont have to travel to your office, wait for 30 minutes, have a 20 minutes appointment and pay $135. Thats a rip off. Everybody can google this. Trust me with these kind of lawyers - no genuine person will ever fight back for wrongful termination due to protected class. For $135/$150 initial consultation they should have done at least some home work once they know the potential client has booked the appointment. So that during the 15-20 minutes appointment they can ask specific Q&A so that potential client is well aware of his/her chances and decide whether they want to go ahead or not? Essentially an employee who lost the job due to wrongful termination due to protected category is the biggest loser. Worst thing they are simply an attorney who will draft the demand letters and do the negotiation over the phone calls. For this they need $5K as retainer. If you ever ask them - what if this doesnt work out? Then they are going to tell you that we can work on the flat hourly rate of $350/hr. But they are not going to provide any potential outcome. So already an employee - lost their job, have no money and now this law firm is ripping off the last penny also from the employee with no client interest. This law firm just want your money and nothing else.
