The food is amazing. Its a small menu but I recommend the oysters, or the pasta. Every friend I bring here loved anything they ordered. Its pricey though, so make sure youre prepped for that. They have a huge wall of gin (& anything else you want to drink). Its certainly geared towards crafted cocktails but there are beer & wine options on offer as well. I also love the atmosphere - like an old british gin palace or the art deco lobby of a fancy hotel. There is a little carol in which live musicians sometimes perform & because of the setup, sound fills the indoor space. There is a small outdoor space (maybe 2 tables) so youll likely have to be inside.

This is a truly amazing bar with an incredible atmosphere. We are from Switzerland and we can assure everyone: you have to travel far to find such a jewel. The drinks are awesome, and there are some rare rums - and by chance we ran into a cigar night: the selection of Cuban cigars was awesome. We had a 35 Anniversary Montecristo, to die for. Live Jazz music, lots of happy people, a great place.

This place seems perfect. Good bar, good drinks, good service, good theme; it should get 5 stars, but there is one thing holding it back. At the front of the bar they have a half inside half outside smoking section. All the smoke ends up going straight inside. The entire bar smells like pure cigarette smoke. If thats your thing, then go for it. If you dont want to smell like a ashtray when you leave this place, dont bother coming.

Was visiting Dallas for business and Google brought me here. I grabbed a couple drinks and when paying I tried to click Custom Tip . Immediately the screen went back to the servers menu. I was puzzled and thought maybe I hit one of the default tip buttons by mistake. So, I used the restroom and started to leave when the bartender yelled out my name and have a good night with an attitude. I proceeded to have a conversation with him where he asks, with attitude, if I enjoyed my drink. I said yes, and he then questions why I didn t tip. After telling him what had happened with the kiosk, I had him break a $100 bill and keep $20. Which would have been a +50% tip and he says always tip your bartender with attitude and disgust. It was an honest mistake which I corrected above and beyond. I should have told him to stick it where the sun don t shine and walk out without tipping the arrogant prick.

Only one bar man and had to wait a while to get his attention ..ordered gin and tonic, didnt even taste like a G&T..no lemon slice. A very noisy obnoxious group who fortunately left after about 45 minutes. I was disappointed by the ambience and service and will not be going back.

Fantastic spot for cocktails and food in downtown Dallas. Service is great, as are the cocktails. It s a nice fairly chill vibe normally, does not get crazy like some other bars in the area, and they often have live jazz music. They have $1 oyster happy hour Mondays and these oysters are delicious! Recommend the frog legs and beef tartare as well. Looking forward to trying additional menu options when I return!

Just to let you know you cant sit here if youre not going to order. I had rather heard, Hi, My name is Karen, let me know if I can get you guys anything, or I will check back on you in a sec. My husband and I, and our cousin were wondering if the band was going back in to play. But no time to think. We who live in a tower down here like to just go squat at a bar and wait on nothing. I did not want to say it but you know I felt it, that racial vibe OR they might not spend no money vibe. Just ruined my music vibe, and my night. I actually went in and asked for 2 Dos Equis and a Vodka and tonic, but no Dos Equis? Cool. Ive been insulted enough. We walked home where we could just sit and look at each other for free. Smh. Make sure when you visit you hurry up and buy something, or you might get embarassed. Love The Real Celebrity Doctor. Good business is my thing .

Otis, our bartender and cocktail mixologist was operating on another level. He acted like what you really envision a bartender to be. Honestly, in a cocktail bar youre only as good as your bartenders allow you to be. The drinks were pretty good, but the problem is that the bartenders were not accommodating, as if anything we tried to talk about (drinks related) was an inconvenience to them, and no it wasnt busy at all, actually quite empty. A female bartender at the time was particularly rude at one point. Bartenders being friendly and welcoming is half the reason people return, and for that I wont be returning or recommending this place, quite the opposite.

We stopped in for a few drinks, which were just okay.. But the main reason for the 1 star review, is that the bartenders pulled some shady stuff. When we went to pay our bill, they charged us 75% tip. I asked why this was included, and they replied with oh we have live music tonight . This would have been fine, if they had given us a heads up. However, if I want to be charged 75% tip to listen to a mediocre man singing sad songs on his guitar, I would have probably opted not to.

Food and drinks are amazing! Staff is so awesome. You can really tell this group works together as a team pitching in wherever they can without hesitation. This is gonna be my new favorite place! Update: Im so disappointed in what this place has regressed to... for starters, please change your hours online and clearly post your hours on your door. This will be the second time we come thinking they open at 4 and they dont open until 430. We felt a little bit of a bother that we walked in right at 430 as if we were inconveniencing them. Shouldnt you be ready for your customers already? The bartenders have changed since a year ago and the vibe is completely different. Theres a major unapologetic lackadaisical attitude from the team. They seem to always be out of food items and liquors. Dont get me wrong, they are not a-holes but their energy just doesnt match the vibe your expecting for a place like this. This place used to be so cool and the previous staff truly set it apart from the rest. I agree with another reviewer that they need to do better. There is a lot of work they need to do because this place could be great as it once was. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the food is the only consistent thing about The Mitchell. Its pretty damn good!

Arriving to, The Mitchell, on a Saturday evening around 11:30pm, I was surprised they had few guest, but my first impression was exactly what a business owner would want; I found the place charming, cozy, and the entertainer alluring in every way. We were excited to enjoy a cocktail, and entertainment, unfortunately, the bar staff s professionalism didn t rise to the occasion. When you have a huge assortment of liquors, you should expect guest to ask if you carry what they prefer, and the cost; that s an educated consumer. Making recommendations when needed, is also something I would expect of a bar professional, not walking away, and saying let me know when you figure out what you want, while you go sit with friends. Everyone should enjoy the evening the way they choose, but while we were given less than amazing service for asking questions about the Japanese whisky options, most of the bar was drinking beer from a bottle! Why put forth the effort of design, and entertainment, if the staff sabotage it all! I m positive, The Mitchell can do better!

Cute atmosphere, an edgy hipster that wanted a spot his other friend didnt go to. My friends and I came for a second time to give it a second chance, but overall not impressed. Drinks, I would say had pretty average flavor, though this one was more showy mid-craft. I tasted the El Diablo, Vieux Carre, and Old Fashion. I was a bit disappointed that the band was setting up for 2 hours before actually starting. The service was bad, it felt like we were the inconvenience (even on a night that was slow). We had the half chicken and steak tartare. Chicken was moist, but presentation and sides and room for improvement. Stick tartare wasnt bad, but it wasnt great. Unfortunately, Im good to not come back and wouldnt recommend.

The bartender (in his completely empty bar on a Friday night) said I have some dead mint right there, you can t have that . He again suggested I go elsewhere. To ownership- find a bartender that doesn t literally SUGGEST your paying customers go elsewhere because he s too pretentious to be hospitable. Shame on you Plenty of other options that have an ounce of energy and a bartender that s willing to do his job instead of pretend to be a cool hipster and make $20 a night.

Unreal liquor selection. Taylor (dude) is a cocktail maestro, and the sprawling arrays of gin, liqueurs and aperitifs give him & the rest of the crew quite a palette to pull from. As of 8/28/22 the Scotch selection is truly massive but with no master list, leading to some difficulty in selecting, well, anything beyond the front row since its all up a ladder. I have assurance from the GM this is being remedied shortly. I can vouch for the Arran Bothy and the Laphroaig 16yr (srsly, insanely good, both).

Foods are amazing with French-influence menu! Menus are constantly changed with complex flavor offerings. We have had rabbit confit, rabbit roulade, frog legs, whole branzino, scallops, turbot, duck confit, gnocchi, chicken & dumplings, soft-shell crabs, etc. Not to mention this place has delicious wine selections. Dont forget to ask about their special! Otherwise, you will miss out the goodness from the chef. Also I read the story about Chef Marshall who lost his sense of smell due to accident. I definitely can say that he is a talented chef with amazing gifts. Also the bartenders and all the guys who work in this place are always nice and welcoming. Discovered this downtown bar recommended to us by a bartender at another establishment. Dare I say this has the potential to become my new favorite craft bar. I ve been obsessed with Vieux Carre s lately and haven t had much luck with bars being able to make it. Kyle, talented bartender and manager, made our night! Every drink was amazing and he made the best Vieux Carre I ve had. He even freestyled a couple drinks for us and they were a hit. Dwight, another bartender, was a lot of fun as well and had the best playlist going all night. This experience truly made our friends birthday a fun night! I had so much fun I came back a couple days later for dinner. Let me tell you that burger is one of the best I ve had in minute and a lovely stranger let us try his venison tartare; it was so flavorful and it literally melts in your mouth. If you can t tell by now I love this place! I m coming back one night when they have live music and for another Vieux Carre

The place may seem like only an alchemist type of bar. However, their menu heavily gourmet French inspired dishes with; Escargot , Ratatouille , Rabbit Confit (at one point), Champignons , Duck , Quail , Frog Legs . Their Chef and Sous Chef create amazing dishes which Im impressed each time. The best cooked Quail Ive had in my lifetime!

We stopped for drinks after eating at Sky Blossom and YALL. It was so good! We should have gotten dinner here. They have a wide selection of spirits and the bartenders are super nice and will make you anything you like! If youre looking for some good strong drinks, The Mitchell is the spot to be. We will definitely return to try their food.

The Mitchell is unlike any bar youre going to find in Dallas. The menu is next level: whole branzino, oysters with caviar, duck confit even frog legs to round out this superb dining experience. I was more than lucky to get Dwight as my bartender. Endlessly knowledgeable about the endless wall of liquors, and an incredible mixologist to boot. It truly was a joy watching him make all these gorgeous drinks. Speaking of, try his Pink Moon when you stop by; homemade syrups and well sourced liquor create a drink that is truly as good as it looks (and it looks goooooooood). The experience and quality put stalwart local concepts to shame. Like I said, theres no place like it in Dallas.

Great spot to spend the evening or finish up with a night cap. You can t beat the drink selection they have a beautiful bar, paired with an extensive menu of creative drink combos, many of which you won t find elsewhere. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they always have great live music playing in the evenings. A wonderfully intimate spot for a good date night location, or even to pop in for a drink alone. My only gripe is the TVs why on earth does an awesome bar like this need a TV?
