We went on Saturday and the food was amazing! The drinks are so good. I had a Hai baller. Great drink. The BBQ ribs, soup dumplings, walnut shrimp, and spicy chicken noodle dishes were so delicious. Great wait staff and the bartenders gave excellent vibes.

I love the mouth numbing spice that the Boiling Beef Szechuan Style and the Spicy Mapo Tofu have!!! The sautéed Bok Choy and Pork Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) are delicious. The Honey Beef with bird buns and Shredded Pork in Hot Garlic Sauce were so-so, not as good as the others mentioned above. Parking is limited to street parking.

Recently came here this past weekend and had a somewhat good experience. We ended up waiting an extra 45 minutes past our reservation Time due to them being extremely busy, which makes sense because it was a Friday night. But the staff did apologize for the wait and they did make up for it by sending us two free advertisers that were very delicious. Thank you guys for making up for the wait time. Everything that we got was very good and tasteful

The food here is satisfactory, though unremarkable. However, the service leaves much to be desired. I visited for lunch, and after placing my order, my drink never arrived. An hour later, I was informed that my order ticket had been lost, and I needed to reorder. The server seemed quite forgetful. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you have a couple of hours to spare.

This completely exceeded my expectations and was super unexpected! I ll def be ordering again!

First time, ordered take out. I ordered General Tso s Chicken. Crab Rangoon, and steamed bok choy. The crab Rangoon was ok; they re green onion savory. The sauce provided was neither sweet nor sour, the flavor was weak. That theme continued with the General Tso s chicken. It s spice was like a La Croix flavor, definitely detectable but only a suggestion, which was made all the sadder by the fact that it came swimming in a hoisin based sauce with sliced dried chilies. Even the side of steamed bok choy fell short. While it came perfectly packaged and steamed, it tasted funny? It tasted slightly the way vetiver smells, which suggests maybe a cross-contamination with cleansers somewhere in the process perhaps? That may not ruin for you, maybe it was on purpose. It s a no for me though. It wasn t worth overpaying for delivery.

I was really excited to try this place but was really disappointed. We weren t impressed by the food and wish it was better. There was also a lot of nats and flys so we were constantly waving them away. The food wasn t flavorful and quite bland. The soup dumplings tasted funny in my opinion. Also when we arrived we sat at our table for 15mins before a server came. When we asked another server about getting an appetizer or drink she responded saying oh I m not your server the bartender is . Which is wildly disrespectful because she could ve brought us some water to drink or at least helped her coworkers and she refused. That s absolutely crazy that the bartender had to tend to the customers at the bar, make drinks for the other customers and also play server. Yet there s 3 hostess just standing around talking and laughing.

Went to Fortune House as a group of four for late lunch. The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive, and we appreciated the server s menu insights. The food was tasty and servings were generous. We shared our main entrees around the table and everyone had plenty eat. I especially want to note that the prices are very reasonable for a sit-down meal in Lower Greenville. We averaged $30/person including a shared appetizer and drinks. An overall great spot for good eats.

Chinese food places dont seem to be in abundance here like in NJ so I was very glad when we stumbled upon Fortune House. The decor is beautiful and they were extremely busy. The food was tasty but there was a copious amount of bell pepper in my dish. The order took so long I am guessing they ran out of real ingredients and put about 2/3 of a cup of bell pepper in my food instead. I may try them again and ask to hold the bell pepper but am not in any rush to go back to pay those prices for filler in my takeout meal. I thought the staff were wonderful.

I have visited this place for a long time considering it one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas, I loved everything until now, we had a terrible service first they told us that we had to wait for an hour and a half ok we did it when my husband went to ask what was happening because they said that we were the next we waited inside like 40 minutes by the ENTRY door. They never called us, we had to go out to look for another option because our children could no longer cope with the hunger until this moment I never received a single text message to receive for our table unfortunately the incompetence of some employees ruins the work of others. My husband asked for tables that looked available but were reserved for others.

The place is nice, service was nice. The dumplings were delicious but the other dishes (hot and spicy beef soup & shredded pork in spicy garlic sauce) left more to be desired. Those dishes were not even close to being spicy and the beef of the soup tasted as though it has been frozen for months. Nice place to come for the aesthetics overall but not the place if you want real authentic Chinese food. The dumplings saved this visit. 5HOUR UPDATE .. visited the 4 times since eating here :/ def not good.

Engagement Party Success! My fiancé and I had a small vision of what we wanted and you guys made that small vision a beautiful dream for us. From the initial communication, to the design plans, to the day of setup, everything was awesome. Even when we had a few personalized things we wanted with pictures, flowers, and balloons (huge shout out to the balloon crew!), you were all accommodating. The staff was the best we could have asked for. I dont think one person had to ask where/how to order as the staff had already shown up offering. Their ability to deliver to us even when we all were the garden room during peak heat was A1. I dont think I have to mention how amazing the food was. Hands down best dumplings in Dallas. I know this was one of the first times doing the buffet style party and you guys crushed it. The walkaround apps in the stylish dishes and the larger items on the table came out great and stayed fresh/hot.

Way louder than I thought it was going to be, they need to invest in more decor or something so everyone that thinks they need to be screaming doesnt have their voice echoing off just flat surfaces. We ordered egg rolls, they were cold in the middle, all 3 of them, though they didnt taste horrible, I have no reason to believed they make then in house, either that or they make them just ahead of time and flash fry them to serve. I ordered the pork soup dumplings and it was not a very good flavor, it kind of made me a little nauseous and I honestly was wondering if they made them fresh or not as well. There definitely is a possibility they did, I was just surprised at the strong weird flavor. And for some reason they took our water pitcher away mid meal when we were only drinking water at the table? Me and my boyfriend were very confused about that, and never got a refill after. I think youd be better off either going to an HMart or 99Ranch and buying frozen baozi, or if you have a big party. Either theyll put more effort into the food/service, or youll have a better chance at finding a dish you like.

Fortune House is my New favorite spot! An old friend and I recently reconnected, and she recommended this Chinese restaurant in lower Greenville. The strip here has a marvelous vibe, and Fortune House provided my friend and I such a fun, intimate, and engaging connection. Our server Molly was such a refreshing delight.. She answered all of my questions and gave excellent recommendations on drinks and food.. and just very attentive while not being overboard. I really appreciated her professionalism and knowledge of the menu. My friend and I shared my new favorite drink that Molly suggested, the Singapore Sour. Hot Damn that is a sexy drink! Then we enjoyed the most delicious dumpling sampler I have ever feasted upon in my life. For our main course we shared Mongolian Beef with mushrooms, Orange Chicken, and the Eggplant entree. All recommended by Molly once again. The flavors were out of this world, and my only complaint is that I have not discovered this place sooner! We will definitely be back again, with new friends next time. Vegetarian options: The Eggplant dish is exquisite!

I visited this restaurant for dinner last night and was rather disappointed with the overall experience. We encountered an unwelcoming attitude from the hostess when we requested not to be seated near the back hallway. Instead, we were placed outside at a table that was not up to standard - the booth was unclean and the cushion was noticeably worn out (back left corner.) I found it necessary to request that the table be cleaned. Unfortunately, the service didnt improve from there. Despite informing our waitress of my mushroom allergy, our appetizer (pan seared dumplings) was brought out with mushrooms included and steamed and we asked for pan seared. Additionally, basic necessities like silverware required multiple reminders and our drinks were not refilled throughout the meal. The quality of the food itself was also underwhelming. The dishes lacked flavor and were dry. I attempted to enhance the taste by requesting Sriracha and chili sauce, and yet, these were never brought to our table, leaving me unable to enjoy my meal. Furthermore, the ambiance was negatively impacted by the excessively loud music. It was virtually impossible to converse with the person across the table without straining our voices. Based on this experience, I regret to say that I do not recommend this restaurant.

Very nice evening out. I went there with my lady. When we arrived, we were told there was a 30 minute wait, which we agreed to. We left to walk around. Less than 10 mins later, we received a notification that our table was ready. We returned and were escorted to our table, which was missing 1 chair and didn t have any beverage glasses. The hostess had to pull a chair from a vacant table as well as glasses. (not really a big deal to me). Server was pretty good. She got our prospers correct and the food arrived within a reasonable time frame. Food was really good (Soup dumplings and sesame chicken). We also ordered shrimp fried rice, but it wasn t as tasty as the other food. Our server never refilled our drinks, which was a disappointment. The atmosphere wasn t too appealing to me because it was noisy, and I was struggling to hear/understand my lady at various times during conversation. The waitress did provide me with a soda-to-go when I requested it. Menu prices seemed appropriate.

I would ve ordered the whole fried fish. However, I was told that it wasn t even available and that you have to come and request it a few days in advance. Then why, may I ask is it even on the menu? Additionally, the shrimp dumplings actually have pork in them. The edamame tasted really strange and it was cold. The fried rice was edible. Kinda hard to mess that up. It probably wouldn t hurt to look into investing in some laminated, wipeable menus. The ones we were given were filthy. The hype is simply in the location, that s about it.

The restaurant feels fun and new. The staff acted friendly. I feel that the prices fit given the menu offerings and restaurant location in a trendy neighborhood. Photos from recent visit (take out). We ate here Tuesday evening on impulse because we loved the atmosphere. We did not have a reservation, but our hostess was very gracious and was able to find us seats. Our waiter, Carlos, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He recommended a popular off menu appetizer, an assortment of soup dumplings. They were delicious! We followed that with an order of fried rice, and an order of vermicelli noodles. Both were delicious! I normally do not enjoy Chinese food very much, but this was lovely. We already plan to return.

He made us feel very welcomed, and we were super pleased with the service. Thank you for making my day special!

Save yourself time and money and go to the original fortune house in Irving, better atmosphere, better food and better service. I arrived at the time of my reservation, they rushed me to order, my dumplings did not arrive on time and they quite literally kicked me out because they had other reservations. I understand if you have other reservations but let the guests know prior to making reservations. We wanted to keep drinking but they gave me my check without asking for it. Whatever, incredibly disappointed in the service and the food. ALSO check your dumpling they might be undercooked

I ever had at a restaurant we walked in, and the wait was 45 mins we didnt have a problem of waiting at all we got our table within 15 to 20 mins as we sat down, we waited for our server to ask us our drink order within 10 mins someone came and gave us water. did not say anything to us and walk away within 5 mins the waitress finally came to our table she wasnt very pleasant had a whole attitude we finally order our appetizers she came back around I said can I get sweet and sour pork and a Coca cola she just takes off I wasnt even finish talking when she drop off the drink, I ask her whats in the sweet and sour pork? she had a whole attitude about it. I wanted to tell her I wanted the sauce on the side but didnt even give me the chance to ask her kept walking away from me. she never came back to our table, just only ask if we wanted the check. Horrible experience will never come back! but overall, the hostess ladies were really nice. Parking: Needs a bigger parking lot.

The place was really good. I really enjoyed the pork Xiao long bao. The dumpling skin is very thin and delicate while the filling is very well flavored. The Jasmine green tea is very fresh, delicious and aromatic. The orange beef is very tender and well seasoned. They even accommodated my preference for spicy food and added chili flakes on my dish. It is over all a really great experience. It was my first time here as they always have a lot of people dining most of the time. Will come back and highly recommended for Chinese food.

The dumplings were cold and okay. Nothing amazing nor very authentic. Server was inattentive & did not do a good job. He never gave an introduction & when asking to split a shared appetizer on 2 checks, he denied us. We were then approached by a manager asking about the experience while signing our checks. We informed her we didn t have the best experience with our service. She barely addressed it then proceeded to kick us out of the table. She mentioned a 12 top coming in whenever we are ready No genuine apology & clearly just checking on us to get us to leave. My expectations were high while booking the reservation and was disappointed and not returning. This place is definitely an Instagram worthy restaurant that lacks good bones for an excellent experience.

I ve been to Fortune House about 3 times now and each time was even more unpleasant than the last. First time was great! We got a green tea gimlet and dumplings. After that first time is when things started to go downhill. Each time after they were out of at least 1 thing we were trying to order, and unfortunately the service was way below par, especially for a restaurant on Greenville Ave. We were told there was a 20 minute wait with a wide open dining room- that should never be the case. We were told this was because the servers needed to catch up. As someone in the service industry, I can typically see whether that s true, and in this case, the servers were behind because they were not doing their jobs correctly or efficiently. Multiple servers out back smoking cigarettes, and beyond inattentive to their tables. Our server, a young male with curly hair, checked on us maybe once our entire visit there. All around, I really loved the food and drinks here but the service is so horrible that I will not be returning.

She also forgot or just didn t add one of our entree orders. Disappointing experience.

A disappointing service experience Ill start by saying that id be willing to give this spot another chance. One bad experience doesnt always mean its a dud. I came here to meet with a friend, and I arrived before them so I got the table for us. They sat me in a back corner - keep in mind there was NO one else in this section at all, so I thought it was a little odd (you can see this in my interior photos). The server asked about drinks - I asked for two waters (mentioning my friend would be along soon). For about 10 minutes, no one came by, even though I had an app order ready. My friend arrived, we chatted for another 15 minutes and still no one had arrived. I tried during this time to flag someone down as well. I got someone who said they didnt serve but would grab someone for me. They didnt. At this point, we decided it might be easier to eat at the bar. We let the hostess we were moving, and ordered drinks from the bartender. Took quite awhile again before we could order food. When she came by again - we ordered the apps we wanted - except they were out of 2/3 of the choices we made. So we swapped choices around. After another 15 minutes, she came back and apologized that ANOTHER of our choices was also out. We just gave up - ate the two dishes we had (which were just okay, since they werent even our first choices) and then left and ate an actual meal somewhere else. I was really excited to try out a new spot like this - and Im sad it did not meet expectation.

It physically pains me not to give this place 5 stars, because Im a big fan of the original Irving location. The atmosphere at this location is a 10/10! I love the design of the restaurant, and I do think its a better atmosphere than the original. Service is a different story. We come in to eat often and sadly, weve had maybe 1 or 2 decent servers... the others have been severely lacking. Usually they are extremely slow and provide nonexistent service. Theyre not rude or anything, just not good. The food is hit or miss. Sometimes we come in and its phenomenal! Other times we come in and its cold or bland. I never know what I am going to get with this place, but I keep coming back.

Lunch menu should not be ordered off of. Nothing is freshly prepared. The food is not freshly wok-cooked (certainly doesn t taste that way and the cool temperature is a dead give away). Kung Pao Shrimp was pre-boiled shrimp placed on top of a premade medley of onions/bell peppers in an oily sauce colored to look like Kung Pao. No flavor. The fried rice had been scraped off of the bottom of a pan and was dry and hard. The egg roll was cold, soggy and super oily with no flavor. My guess is that it and came from the bottom of a pile of egg rolls that were pre-fried at 10am (it was served to me at 1:30pm). Hot and sour is only a name for the tasteless soup that was served. Server was very kind and atmosphere is clean and very decent. Please put more effort in your lunch menu. It is not remotely competitive with other Asian restaurants near by. I will not go back.

Not familiar with any Chinese restaurants that don t take online orders or over the phone orders.
