It has been a week. Since Ive been there. I love this place. Im the lady with the facial piercings. And when I say kick your boots up in here. Eat. Drink. The service is down home. My coworker loves the food . We have fun playing old tunes we like. But most of all the kereoke is awesome. The dancing on Friday. I fell in luv with it. There are a couple of guy that host the kereoke. They are good. If Im correct . The owner. He sings and when I heard him. I felt at home as if I was in Louisiana in Homer with family. And its a mix of ALLLLL. BEAUTIFUL. AND the reason I havent done there. I purchased a bike. And they will see it next week.

I went out to celebrate my friends birthday. This celebration itself feels great, but one of our friends is block, and the bartender refused to serve him. I wonder why I think it s because he s black. He was the black guy in our group and he was the only one that was refused service.

Its been a VERY long time since Ive closed a bar and I had no intentions of doing it last night. BUT... I had such an AMAZING time I just couldnt leave!! I had the most fun Ive had in years!! And I met some really great people and made new friends. I love this place!! JUST SO YOU KNOW... Its $5 to get in and they ONLY TAKE CASH. There is an ATM inside if you need it. Neon Cowboy is an experience, thats how I would explain it. If youve never been to a honky tonk you can give this one a try. Its old school all the way. Cash at the door, you sign up for a membership card, etc. theres a small dance floor, and a made to order line cook frying up burgers right in the middle of the place. I ranked service low bc I ordered a margarita and it was undrinkable, absolutely disgusting. Any bartender worth their salt should be able prepare a decent margarita. If you go to Neon Cowboy stick with beer. Overall, if youre driving past Neon Cowboy at midnight on a weekend, drop in.

The Neon Cowboy is an interesting bar, apparently a private one. You have to join up or sign up before you can sit a spell and pop a top. I guess the area is dry, I m not really sure. I first visited the Neon Cowboy in the 1980 s, I was wearing a hair helmet and some parachute pants. At the time they had a drink with Jack Daniels and Jolt Cola - Jolt Cola was popular for having twice the caffeine in it! So you might imagine that Jack kicker followed by a double caffeine buzz! I had more than one, of course. Everyone told me I had a good time. Recently I dropped by with my best friend, and strangely enough he had some very unusual Neon Cowboy stories to share, almost Urban Legend stuff. I d tell those tales here and now but Google Security has been monitoring my adventures and I don t think my missives would long survive. He spoke fondly of the bars kitchen and even fonder of the cook, a kindly lady who is no longer with us . This place serves Whiskey in clear plastic cups. That s a down vote for me. The bartenders will line up the basics for you, and might have a fancy drink available if your lady friend asks for one, just so long as shes not too particular. It s a fairly large bar and as I recall it s tough to find a parking spot on week nights. They have a small stage and live music when they can land a band. There is an almost sequestered back area that looks awfully questionable but is likely just a reserved room - I really don t know. I like bars with character and this is one of them. If your a people watcher you can keep an eye on the front door and size everyone up as they walk in. I was told a long time ago not to walk into a bar and stop, most people do. Anyway in that brief moment when you pause at the front door- people are sizing you up. I sadly anticipate that in my golden years I ll be spending so much time here they ll start charging me rent but until I dive in, I m good for the occasional drop ins. Do the same, drop in and visit one of The Groves oldest serving sit down bar. I ll be back soon. Size me up as I walk in!

Still my choice of night clubs to go to. I just dont feel comfortable anywhere else. Jodi and all the staff there has always made me feel welcome and relaxed there. Ive met a few ppl there that I now call my friends and even as awkward, (as a single female), walking into a bar alone can be... I still feel like its the only place I can go to (any day of the week) and let my hair down, sing karaoke if I want to, eat something, drink a lil, play some pool, or just hang out. Thanks Lil Carol, Moana, Jodi, Kelly Beth, and the rest of the gang!!

Very nice and empty. Lol. It was actually nice to be able to play a game of pool (something I havent done in many years) without having to win the table or wait for 1-2 hrs to get to play. Karaoke was cool not many singers but still cool. Moana, & Robbie are still there. . Lol. I will be coming back more often. Nice that there is no smoking in front bar area now. Even tho I smoke.

Slow service in front part of bar so I moved to the back (smoking section). The back bartender, obviously thinking I was drunk tried to steal my money. She was a pro and had this routine down to a science. She did give my money back when I confronted her. I wonder how many have not or just didnt notice. If you choose to go here, beware. Other than this it is a great bar with alot of history and a good live band.

Always a nice place to hang out and have a beer or shoot some pool. Alot of antiques and memorabilia. Pretty casual and they serve $3 bottled beer. As with most places the only thing I had a problem with was that the female bartenders usually look over the women and generally tend more to the men. I sat for 20 minutes at the bar while the men who just walked up were served immediately. But they are all super nice and work their tails off.

Great atmosphere, karaoke evening on Thursday welcoming staff, the singer sets the fire, he sings really well, came several times to our table to see if everything was okay, they made us dance, they were very happy to see French people and we presented to the whole Saloon, if you want to see a typical Texas bar and have a good evening go there! and whats more, you can eat on site, the cocktails are great Wonderful evening
