Food was pretty good but the service was lacking. Coffee took quite a while to come out and we were not offered refills on coffee or water. It was definitely not busy and there was no reason we should have needed to ask for water refills. Also, our server simply presented one check without asking if we needed it split. Just overall service needs improvement.

I guess the online ordering system doesnt work or theyre not paying attention. I placed a pickup order online,when I arrived to pick it up none of them was aware of the order. Thank God I had my phone with me to show them. I had to wait an additional 10min for them to make my food. When I got home to eat thr food was so bland. This was my second time ordering from here. The first time was September of 2023, and the service & food in comparison was totally different. Not sure what changed.

Came by for a quick brunch with my daughter. The layout was really cute and I love the booths and the atmosphere. The coffee was great! Ordered pancakes, eggs and bacon. Pancakes were amazing and very tasty. The service was good as well, everyone seemed nice.

Tops was our favorite restaurant when we first moved to the area but they recently went through some new ownership or management and it s a horrible now. The food used to be so good and the service AMAZING. The last time we went the food was very bland and servicing sizes were TINY in comparison to what they were and more expensive. And the server was too busy telling everyone about some special party or something and her look for the party, to actually listen to our orders and completely screwed mine up and it took so long to get her attention to fix it that my husband ate his entire meal and mine was cold (granted it was barely warm and not hot when it came out). The atmosphere changed so much, it used to be so sunny and welcoming and now it s dark and cold. We will never be returning.

DO NOT eat here if you care about food quality and good service. We were super hungry and stopped by to try this cafe for brunch, after running errands all morning. Here are the issues with this place: Complete lack of awareness towards customers. One of the staff started cleaning the table directly next to us (tables are only almost 2 feet apart from each other), spraying highly strong cleaner all over the table. It was so strong , it made me cough for a bit, and lingered in the air for the rest of our time there. Mediocre chorizo burrito, but no particular issues with it, and egg white omelette. The omelette tasted as if it had been made in a pan previously used to fry chicken. It tasted like a live bird mixed with old grease. So disgusting. I took one bite before sending it back. Waitress seemed surprised once I explained and proceeded to give me a lesson on how eggs come from chicken, as if food tasting like old raw chicken should be ok cause, ya know, eggs turn into chicken have yall ever heard about salmonella and other bacteria? I asked for an oatmeal instead, which came out 15 minutes later and after my boyfriend was done with his food. How long does it take to make a small bowl of oatmeal? 3-5 minutes. Oatmeal came out completely naked, no sugar, syrup, fruits, or nuts on the side. Just plain oats in water. All of this happened while they only had 2-3 other tables to serve. You must not care at all about your customers or your business. If you did care, you would listen respectfully and closely, and make more effort towards customer satisfaction instead of making them wait longer and disrespect them with sending out disgusting oatmeal the second round. I didnt even care that you didnt charge us for the omelette which was left entirely untouched. You may not take yourselves seriously and think youre just a small diner, but ppl who come in to be fed and give you their time and money deserve to be taken seriously. Terrible business, food, and service.

Very nice place. I had breakfast there and everything was done perfectly and just as I asked, the corned beef hash was crispy on the outside and just right in the middle as were the hash browns. The portions are large enough to be filling without being stuffed. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The prices are well in line with the quality and quantity one gets in a meal I will definitely be there again when visiting Carrollton as my local breakfast place

Id never been here until today. The food wasnt anything spectacular. Its the same as so many breakfast places these days. There were 6 of us, and they brought out food for 2 of us, and then it took at least 10 minutes to bring out the rest of the food, so food got cold while waiting for the rest to arrive. There was barely anyone in the restaurant, and yet our waitress was nowhere to be found when we needed anything. I had to get up to get her so that I could get a refill on my coffee. I wasnt impressed and I dont plan to return.

The waitress checked her watch while we were trying to decide what to drink. They were conveniently out of anything I tried to order. The food arrived cold, tasted awful and like something that came out of a freezer that I could cook at home. The waitress said she d bring my gluten free toast and never did. After asking for it again and waiting even longer, it finally came to the table cold, and she said it took a while because they were out. So why was it sitting in front of me cold??? Beautiful restaurant. Literally you can t order anything that isn t fantastic. Came with my sister and 1 year old and our server Jennifer absolutely went above and beyond to make sure she brought crayons, toys, and foods and fruits to entertain my son so we could actually eat a hot meal. We got the berry French toast, blackened shrimp omelet, and southwest skillet and all were fantastic! Kid-friendliness: Crayons, high chairs, servers who care and are kind to the kids.

Went a few days ago and had Jo Jo as a waitress, horrible waitress, unfriendly, wasnt attentive, she seemed annoyed we were there throughout our stay. It wasnt even busy, it was us and another table. Service was turtle paced. Ordered a veggie omelet which is supposed to come with grits, toast, and hashbrowns. Did not recieve the hasbrowns. Omelet and grits came out 15 minutes before toast and side of bacon. Omelet was greasy, I only ate the toast and side of bacon. Grits were bland no seasoning no butter just boiled grits. Floor needed to be swept. Do not recommend this place at all. They apparently give senior discounts aside from that would not recommend at all. Dennys down the street is better or HoneyBerry Cafe.

What a hidden gem in Far North Dallas on the corner of Midway and Frankford Rd. We were intending on going to another well-known eatery for Sunday brunch, but it was packed. Instead we ended up going to Tops Cafe and boy are we glad we did. There was plenty of packing and an abundance of seating. The place is bright, clean and has an airy feel about it! We were seated right away and provided menus - what a massive menu, not only for breakfast, but for lunch and dinner too! I believe it was the owner who then came by; since it was our first time, he provided plenty of recommendations. We finally decided on the traditional breakfast and their Savannah skillet. Both meals were cooked to perfection and the portion sizes were just right (not the gargantuan sizes that you see served elsewhere which is a waste). Great coffee too! Every bite was delicious and the prices were fair! We had great service and well definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to others!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tops Cafe, and I must say that its an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was enchanted by the charming ambiance and warm, welcoming atmosphere. With a wild variety of dishes on the menu, theres something for everyone. I had the pleasure while trying Nashville Chk Sandwich, Crabcake Bennidict, and fries. To accompany my meal, I tried expresso martini and Special Patron Margarita, which is the best to this date. What sets Tops Cafe apart is their exceptional service. The Staff were incredibly attentive and friendly and made me feel like a valued guest throughout the visit. Their smiles and willingness for their customers made the experience even more enjoyable. Wow !! I stumbled upon this restaurant and I did not regret it. I love the vibrant yet subtle colors of the diner. It s quite inviting to say the least. The food was delicious. The servings were plentiful. The prices are reasonable. I ordered a traditional breakfast consisting of a pecan waffle, scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage, and pork bacon. Turkey bacon is also available. I enjoyed my breakfast with a cup of hot coffee and iced lemon water. The atmosphere was pretty chilled. On their website it says they close at 4PM on Saturday s and Sundays. I went in at 2:45PM and it was the first time going to this restaurant. Unfortunately we didn t get to try the food because we were being rushed by the server and then proceeded to state they close at 3PM on Sunday s. Im a weekly regular here. The food is great and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is their specialty. Just started serving alcohol as well. Vegetarian options: The yogurt power bowl is awesome. It costs ten bucks but you get a lot.

I happened to visit this new little restaurant spot. I can say, It wasn t bad at all. The potatoes had no real flavor or seasonings to them but I did add a little salt and pepper to them. I also suggest that they add some sautéed onions, and bell peppers to the potatoes. The hostess, and server were pretty nice. I probably will return but not rushing to give them a second chance so soon. The sweet tea isn t from a fountain it s freshly brewed. My son Georg told me this is a new restaurant. He has gone here a couple times. He wanted me to try it out for breakfast while I was in town. Son had a Veggie Omelette, I had the Biscuits and Gravy. (both were good) the gravy was the stick to your ribs kind. Omelette was fluffy. Restaurant was clean, staff were friendly, food was good. The staff (Jennifer) was talking to some of the customers on a first name basis, meaning they were happy returning customers. Give them a try.

I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast and was extremely disappointed. First of all, anything that is NOT prepared fresh by they their kitchen was good. The bagged biscuits were pretty tasty with jelly, and the frozen chicken fried steak was good until the texture killed it for me. Breakfast means eggs and hash browns and they were both cold when they arrived at my table. I pretty much ate a few bites of each and just couldnt eat it anymore. The waitress was great. There was a person manning the register who asked us how our meal was, and after explaining my experience was told it gets busy sometimes. If youre gonna sit down for a coffee and biscuit, go for it. When youre ordering food, you best hope the restaurant is not busy or else the kitchen will get overwhelmed.

The service was good and the atmosphere was fine. However, I barely ate any of my food. The salmon on the Smoked Salmon Benedict was the offender. The eggs were prepared nicely, however, the salmon ruined my appetite. The staff were nice enough to remove the entree from the bill, and my family enjoyed their French toast and crepes. Parking: East side of the bldg has ample parking.

My fiancée and I were excited to try this place out with all the reviews it has. Unfortunately the service wasn t that great. Waitress got my fiancées order wrong and at one point when we paid one of the employees came up to our table and said they weren t sure if the debit card they had was ours.. and just handed our card back to us. Staff needs to be trained up better. The food was alright.

This place is ok. Coffee is very weak, eggs/potatoes have no seasoning like others stated. Pancakes are pretty decent. I saw the build when it was happening. Every time I stop at the grocery store I say one day I m going to do it. And today was finally the day that I intentionally came for breakfast at Tops Café. And now I m asking myself what took me so long? It s tucked in the corner of the strip but doing great things inside! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The service is over the top friendly. Jennifer was my server. The food is exceptional. It was fresh, hot and didn t take too long. I had the egg breakfast with catfish. They should go ahead and just take full credit and call it catfish and grits The fish was exceptional. It was seasoned to perfection. It will now be on the short list of neighborhood favs and referrals for me! Parking: Plenty of parking - free.

I love this place! Im there at least twice a week, usually for brunch. Not only is the food excellent but I really like their selection of background music. Upbeat but not too loud. Another big bonus is they have FREE WIFI and it is very reliable!!! Their hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM M-F and 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM S-S. You will not be disappointed! This cafe is so incredibly delicious and absolutely worth the price! Jennifer, our server has been incredibly friendly and genuine throughout our entire experience here, as this was our first visit. I ordered the mushroom and swiss burger with a double patty. It was very juicy and not too heavy on the stomach. Jennifer recommended putting A1 Sauce on the burger, which will now be one of my favorite go-to s from now on. The pork chop was cooked well done, crispy on the edges and juicy. This place might be fine for breakfast but I checked the menu at this location before going as I wanted meatloaf. The server said they no longer served the full menu but they had a meatloaf sandwich. None of the blue plate type meals shown on the menu were available here. It was the worst meatloaf I ve ever had. So dry that the diced onions and carrots fell out and stayed on the plate. It was nothing like the picture on the website. So maybe stick to breakfast items.
