Went there for my Birthday and Waited patiently while some very rude people who appeared to frequent the establishment played. After an hr and a half of waiting we got the court. It was supposed to be my birthday party I had about 6 people show up. We got told we couldnt play more than one game at a time with our group and that we had to let others play although we just waited forever... So we played one game after being there an hour and a half.. Owner was very rude he stopped the game. Did not say happy birthday after I told him this was my birthday party.. Luckily we brought our own ball because the vibe there was very racist honestly and people were telling us we couldnt use the balls that EVERYONE else was using.... I dont leave reviews often but its pretty clear why they are going out of biz as no one seems to know what is going on there. First impressions are everything and as a local REALTOR and business owner I couldnt believe the service that was provided.

Incredibly friendly/ welcoming. However, the food takes FOREVER to arrive and is NOT as described in the menu. My cod arrived slathered in mango salsa (not mentioned on the menu & Im allergic to mango) and was supposed to come with asparagus ( I received yellow squash).

Nice place to chill and play volleyball. However, the drinks are over priced with no liquor in it. And a shot is $10.00. For what?! Bartenders are short with you. No sense of humor. After a few hours, they have attitudes with everyone. Especially the brown skin girl. The food is mediocre at its best. Overall...good place to play and catch a nice skyline view. Drink and eat before you come or elsewhere!

You are not allowed to bring your own water. Do I have to say more than that? It is 90+ degree heat in Dallas, Texas. I was told I cannot bring my own water in, and then they want to charge me for water. Today, a person even fainted due to dehydration. A place who chooses profits over basic ethics, is a place I cannot do business at. I hope the city steps up and fixes this.

They overcharged me and added their own tip. My amount was pending for a few days and then updated to a new balance that I did NOT approve of. Very sketchy especially since I asked the guy if he needed me to sign a copy of the receipt he said no we don t use it. I have tried calling but the number does not work and goes straight to a voicemail. I left an email so let s see if they respond

You are not allowed to bring in water, and tap water is not provided or given upon request. Ive never been to a single restaurant/bar in DFW and not been given a cup of water so that I would be forced to buy a bottle. To have this policy somewhere that people will be in the Texas heat exerting themselves is insane. There are even golf courses that give you free bottles of water while youre golfing (and golf courses dont restrict you bringing your own refillable bottles). This is just a ridiculous money grab.

My group of 15+ people used to frequent Sandbar Cantina weekly, but we have decided to stop going because they keep kicking us off for things like doubles tournaments and a single guy giving lessons, even when we ve been playing there for several hours, buying drinks and food, etc. This has happened multiple weeks in a row; I m not going to continue spending money and time here when we show up, order drinks, start playing, and then get kicked off 30 minutes later and have to finish my drink while watching 2 people take up a whole court just to do lessons. That s a bit ridiculous.

Tried to go with some friend yesterday around 7:45pm and when we arrived inside were told they were closed. Clearly the hours of operation on that day says open until 11:00pm on Sunday. Bad for service. I guess because it was a crowd of blacks and browns they didn t want to serve us!

I went here for volleyball league starting up in the spring, and overall I think the bar area is cool although it could be a little bigger, but the volleyball courts are pretty nice. I will say some of the courts are not very well lit so thats something that should probably be addressed. Also we thought it was really annoying that you couldnt bring in your own bottle of water, they force you to buy the water on site or you can just be super thirsty I guess, even though youre doing a physical activity. I think thats a policy they need to change, who doesnt let you bring in a bottle of water when participating in a sporting event? I understand if youre bringing in beer or some other sort of drink, its a big revenue stream for them, but water is a basic human need especially when youre sweating!

I play in a league here and the courts are nice. The staff is friendly and service is pretty good. Food was tasty. The ladies bathroom leaves a lot to be desired... I get that the place is a cantina and people track sand everywhere, but it smells pretty bad and isn t well stocked. They were out of soap and toilet paper last time. There s also random stuff all over the sand areas. People are trying to find spots to warm up during league nights, but it s difficult (and not too safe) with the old metal fire pit, the surplus of wooden high top tables, and the seemingly useless stage. Good luck if your ball gets stuck behind the stage because it s got a bunch of metal poles and stuff behind it you probably don t want to step on. I think with a few simple cleanups and small upgrades this place could be a five star experience.

Sandbar is an awesome place to play sand volleyball, grab a beer and watch a sports game. Haven t tried there food yet, but hope to soon. They have a lot of league games around 6pm-11pm so you have to get there early for free play. On the weekends it s hit or miss if tournaments are happening.

I have been playing league here for years & have always loved the place. But theres one enormous issue: the bar used to offer free water and now they dont. They dont allow in outside containers, forcing players to buy mini plastic water bottles. They dont offer recycling. Not only is it despicably wasteful, but also extremely dangerous for athletes. Ive seen some extreme cases of dehydration here recently and it is a direct result of the bar not offering free water. Its a public health hazard and just seriously unnecessary. Im also like 90% sure its illegal for an establishment that serves alcohol to refuse free water to patrons.

The place is great but the customer service is the worse. They put unauthorized charges on my credit card and there excuse was they do that when you don t close out your tab, however I closed out my tab when I left and have the receipts. The bar has yet to return my call and to me looks like it was the bar trying to get extra money.
