This was my first time at The Dallas Contemporary. We were not disappointed. The exhibition featured artworks from Patrick Martinez, Karolyn Jablonska, Sally Saul, Brian Fridge, and others, is bold and has power behind the imagery. I honestly cant believe its free to enter. There is a $10 suggested donation which its nice to give if you can. They currently have amazing prints for sale at a huge discounted price. Took advantage of that. Will be back next time Im in Dallas.

What an incredible little museum to stumble upon during a visit to Texas from the Midwest for specialized medical treatment. Having spent a couple of years as a gallery guide at another free admission contemporary art museum up in Michigan, I was excited to check this place out and was very glad I did. I visited in late June and found three beautiful exhibitions including Histories by Patrick Martinez, whose work in neon was absolutely stunning, especially transposed against the stark industrial style of the gallery space. The guides at the gallery were super friendly and engaged, polite and knowledgeable about the space and the exhibitions. It was really comforting to find an openly & actively BIPOC & LGBTQ+ friendly space while visiting the south as a queer man from the northern states. All in all a great experience and with free admission and free on site parking, its a must-visit for anyone in the Dallas area that enjoys contemporary art.

My visit to The Dallas Contemporary was a compelling and moving experience. The exhibition featured artworks from Patrick Martinez, Karolyn Jablonska, Sally Saul, Brian Fridge, and others, offering profound insights from personal, informational to political viewpoints. Each piece resonated deeply, making it a must-see event. I highly recommend visiting this powerful exhibit before it ends in September.

Make sure to check the website before hand to see if you will like it. It is free anyways so the only thing you lose is time. Make sure to reserve online in advance! Came here for the Brian Fridge exhibition and as I ve never been to the contemporary museum I was excited to go. The museum itself has plenty of parking and a few exhibits on display. The exhibit I visited for was a short film (6 mins) summarizing the solar eclipse we have coming up in a few weeks. After that, we toured the museum and saw two other exhibits that were very interesting but nice to see. The customer service was great and they offer complimentary wine. I look forward to returning to see future exhibitions as they come.

I love this place so much. I enjoy bringing all my friends here that are new to town. However today a white lady with reddish hair came to the door and was so bothered we walked up to the door to see if they were open and had the nastiest attitude with us. Very unnecessary. It was blocked off with tape but as when we looked on Google it stated open so she proceeds to go back and forth with me on how I didn t need to walk up to the door because it states closed on the website . I do not understand the negative energy behind her letting us know because it could ve been handled more professionally. I don t think you guys should treat guest as such! Keep the positive energy flowing please for people to want to come back!

The contemporary set up a great day for my wife and my friends today! They held a yoga and sound bath session in the gallery and later had a talk with the artist Natalie Waddlington. Her work is on display right now and it is absolutely fantastic. The works are about finding wonder in your own backyard. The color pallettes are wonderful. The Texas sky plays a big role in these works. Her stylized people and animals are amazing, and capture a lot of complex emotions and feelings. She answered many insightful questions from the curator. The spot is also by a bunch of great places to have lunch. Great day, great art.

Our daughter invited us to Dallas Contemporary just before Halloween. What wonderfully eclectic exhibitions of perspectives. The installations ran the gamut of human emotions from Renata Morales multimedia experience of love and horror to Peter Halleys brightly colored grid work. The most intriguing were the Kabakov duos interactive painting retrospectives of the Soviet Union and Shilpa Guptas multilingual homage to unsung poets. Both immersive installments were enriching and enlightening. Thank you, Dallas Contemporary, for an extraordinary experience.

Unbelievable that they would not post this anywhere on their page or block tickets from being reserved. We drove 30 min out of the way for this. Edit: after receiving a reply from the museum on my review, I went ahead and submitted the information requested for the membership. It has been about 3-4 weeks now and I have not heard back from them!

Such a cool experience coming here! The online ticketing worked perfectly and the three galleries were gorgeously informative. Birds was incredible as I expected, but my favorite was the Borders gallery by Liu Xiaodong. Talk about a completely immersive art experience, the first gallery has the finished paintings, the second shows his creative genius at work and the third is a documentary explaining it all. I had such a fun time imagining the meaning behind his work and then being able to watch the film describing his thoughts about his own pieces. I highly recommend getting in to see this before its gone!!
