We were celebrating my daughters birthday. Our server Dawson was not attentive, never came to check our we were doing. He gave us the wrong soup, someone else was bringing the one we had ordered and it never came . I finished my sandwiches without my soup. Very disappointed in his service

One of the highlights of our year. Celebrating my wife s birthday with friends and this experience was prim and elegant, hilarious and fun. Tea was excellent and food was great, with excellent accommodation for Gluten Free! The staff was perfectly engaging and the exact relatability to make our experience incredible and enjoyable. Special shout out to OLIVIA - you made our experience better than we could have envisioned! Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free

We came here to celebrate an engagement and ended up having the rudest interaction weve ever had with a server. There was confusion from the beginning with the staff about the menu options for the group, but the staff were kind and apologetic. When food was being served, one particular staff member was extremely rude to my family members and trying to argue with them on what they ordered. Another individual was able to clear up the misunderstanding, but this staff members treatment of us ruined the entire meal. The Cobb salad was disappointing, especially the unseasoned, boiled chicken.

Had the kids summer afternoon tea experience. The atmosphere was lovely and service was great. Such a nice opportunity to get fancy and take the kids for an experience combined with a walk at the park. We were lucky with it being not too hot and cloudy to enjoy the walk there from the car and walk around after. The food was fresh and tasty. Our girls loved it. Especially the desert part The serving was beautiful.

My mom and I had lunch at Degolyer house. The food was extremely disappointing. It was very bland and low quality. Campbell s soup is better than the tomato basil soup. It didn t even taste like tomatoes. I had the tea sandwiches and my mom had the Waldorf salad. The sandwich was mostly bread. I would not recommend eating here at all. Despite the food, the service and atmosphere were lovely.

My Daughter and I drove from San Antonio for a spring break visit to tour some Dallas sites. We had lunch at this beautiful restaurant! We didnt have a previous reservation and had to wait an hour. That was understandable. We used that time to continue touring the Dallas Arboretum. The ambiance was wonderful at the restaurant, and our server and the staff were friendly and attentive! My Daughter had the Chicken Picatta, and I had the Salad Nicoise. Both were absolutely delicious!!! The menu has so many other amazing items. This will be our go-to restaurant when we visit again!

2/29/24 Terrible pretentious hostess. I didn t expect such rude behavior from such a beautiful place. I waited to be seated and the hostess just stared me up and down, so I asked her if I the restaurant was open. She replied mhm as she rudely stared me up and down again. I had to ask her if I could be seated and once I was seated, she wouldn t stop staring at me the whole time I was dining. I felt discriminated against. It made my experience here very uncomfortable. Please train your employees correctly, thank you.

Located inside the Dallas Arboretum, Restaurant Degolyer offers a tranquil and relaxing lunch. During my visit for lunch, I chowed the Niçoise salad and the shrimp and seafood stuffed avocado, which left me thoroughly impressed. The dishes were expertly prepared and presented by Gil s Elegant Catering, reflecting the talent of Executive Chef James Sparks. The outdoor courtyard seating provided a serene and calming ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing meal. I fed a squirrel. I confess.

Great food, great atmosphere, exceptional service and attention. A nice little detour from the walking around the gardens. Only slights would be the prices are borderline b/w reasonable and pricey and automatic gratuity of 20% for parties of 6 or more. Perhaps for a party with lesser people I would give 5 stars 100%.

If its nice enough outside to stroll at the arboretum its nice enough to enjoy brunch on the patio. The food was amazing, with huge portions that I couldnt finish. The potatoes were some of the best Ive had. Seasoned so you dont need any salt. Come hungry because youll leave stuffed. The waitstaff were exceedingly attentive. Our drinks were never empty, and theres refills on the non alcoholic selections. Do note that the drinks are limited just due to the location. Theres drip coffee but not lattes, tea and juice , etc. The line starts well before 11, but theres actually a good amount of seating. Patio tables can easily seat 4-5 and you can see white Rock lake from there. Bring the whole squad. Kid-friendliness: Theres a kids menu and juice available. Wheelchair accessibility: Might be a tight squeeze in some spots but there are ramps etc stationed everywhere for access.

I accidentally left my credit card in with the bill and the waiter ran after me to give it back! Most kind and appreciated! Vegetarian options: Excellent entree choices. Lots of salads too. Restraunt Degolyer has amazing food, from soups, sandwhiches, and salads that I very much enjoyed from my time being there. However they clearly do no care much for the service as they do for the quality of food. The server named Isabel that was assigned my table neglected us throughout the afternoon and gave a rather deeming vibe to me and everyone at the table . Later throughout the day we added two more people to our table, and 20% of your bill gets added on as gratitudy when there s a party of 6 or more. We do no mind that, however with the server that we had who barely came up to us and gave us attitude while ordering, we believed that she did not deserve the 30$ she got from gratitudy. We relayed the message to the manager but because it s policy they wouldn t taken it off. So it seems that this restaurant simply does not care whether your experience was great or not and will let their employees take extra money from you that they did not earn. That was what I got from my experience at Restaurant Degoyler

Yesterday, Thursday November 10th my friend and I had tea at the Degolyer Tea Room. It was such a disappointment considering the price. All the three teas that we were served were tepid, the sandwiches lacked luster and taste as did the petit fours. Does the chef or sous chef taste the food? My friend always starts the Holidays Season with our getting together for tea at the Arboretum, unfortunately this year was a complete disappointment.

Update (3/25/22) same amazing staff and they now have gluten free bread! I wish they had more gluten free options though and Id skip the bliss chocolate cake because it was literally just a store bought gluten free brownie; it looked embarrassing next to my partners dessert. Always have loved this place! I have been here several times, the staff are very friendly, the food is of great quality, and the decor is lovely. However, it is weird how they have a Sunday Brunch only menu that is unavailable for the rest of the week. This place is also only open for a small window of hours out of any given day, only for prime brunch into lunch time hours, but I do wish they would close at the same time as the rest of the garden. The items are also a tad pricey, and its irritating to think about having to pay for parking plus park entry fees (which can easily add up to $30) just to set foot into this place.

Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS & Eat Well Travel Often I got to admit that when it comes to eating at city attractions my expectations are pretty low. Usually you pay for prepackaged food at tourist prices. We decided to give the Restaurant Degoyler at the Dallas Arboretum a shot because it was such a great atmosphere and day. What a nice surprise to find an enjoyable meal. Diane and her parents both had the club sandwiches and I had the Salad Niçoise a Provencal Style Salad with Broiled Salmon Filet, Organic Baby Lettuce, Poached Potatoes, Green Beans, Kalamata Olives, Poached Eggs and Tomato Wedge . Very good combination and well cooked salmon. The salad was fresh and crispy. The sandwiches were also fresh and well portioned. Diane had the rosemary chips and her folks had the French fries. Both of which they fully enjoyed. To finish off Diane and I shared a Creme Brule that was smooth and tasty. Overall recommended four thumbs-up .

If you have kids, Skip this. We went here with 3 kiddos, age 4,8 and 12. They were super rude to us and told us children are only allowed outside, okay, cool, but don t have to be rude about it. Then they charge $9 for 2 chicken tenders, fries and a juice box that s basically cafeteria food quality. A sandwhich and sides were $15. There were only 2 tables with people and service was aweful. Servers and hosts were just standing around on their phones, no refills on water or soda, took forever for us to get a box for leftover food. So not worth it. Plus- my kids felt like why should we give you our money when you so rudely told us we had to sit outside? And I agree- if it wasn t for family we were visiting with, we wouldn t have eaten there

High tea is served at 11am and 2pm at this charming destination in the heart of the Dallas Arboretum. Docent-led tours of the DeGolyer home will tell you of Everette Lee DeGolyer, a Petroleum geologist who moved from Arkansas to Dallas in the early 1940s. The Mexican hacienda courtyards were added later where the old parking structure adjoined the house, designed in a Spanish Colonial Revival style of architecture by California architects Dermon Scott and Burton Schutt. The loggia colonnade is a recent addition for additional outdoor seating overlooking the neighboring gardens.

Sandwiches although interesting needed some review due to texture. Sweets were great, atmosphere high end with a fireplace. The dining experience was paced slowly to enjoy to fully fit between 11am-2pm. Only docked a star because I enjoy lavendou bistro sandwiches and clotted cream more. But Im likely to return again for the great deal of visiting the gardens!
