Made me feel like I was eating at home! Customer service was excellent. Even though they were packed, it didnt take long for our food to come out. Biscuit and gravy was my favorite. Fruit was over ripened but still edible. Ill be back for sure!

Food was ok, I got the chicken fried steak. Supposed to have won all kinds of awards but honestly it was kinda bland and the gravy was... different. The service wasnt horrible once they got used to us but we came at 2 and they close at 230 and it felt kinda hostile and got the feeling the staff werent happy to see us. We still got out the door before 230 but it would have went much smoother if someone would have just took our order first thing and welcomed us. The cooks were griping in plain view, staring us down. Service definitely needs some work. Ive been wanting to come here for a long time and it was not as good as I had hoped. Definitely wont be added to my list of favorite places.

Great place for brunch. Tried several things and they all were delicious. Chicken and Biscuits Grits and their dog bites ., was a little disappointed that their patio isn t well equipped to be used. As busy as they are this would alleviate some of the crowds since we did have to wait for a while and we had some elderly ones in our group. We do recommend this place, just wish it was cleaner and better equipped with more available seating options outside.

We tried this place for lunch as a group from work. Good food. The food was seasoned good. The waffles were good. And it s somewhere we can go again. The place is small and parking is limited so make sure you take that into account. I ordered the chicken and waffles. And the chicken was sooo good. The homestyle fries were good as well.

Decided to come here based off of an impulsive decision. IHOP was the other option. NEWSFLASH PEOPLE, go with what you know. I don t understand why this place is so overhyped. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and they only sprinkled a tiny bit of gravy for a steak that covered the whole plate. He asked for more gravy and was told that it would be a $3.25 upcharge. We weren t paying for something that should ve been on the plate already .nobody wants to eat a dry chicken fried steak. He also ordered pancakes that were undercooked and doughy. (We sent those right to the back) As for my order, the eggs were DISGUSTING. I like to call myself an egg connoisseur and I know when eggs are just not made right. They were rubbery, fried hard, and bouncy. Eggs can make or break a good breakfast for me and it definitely broke this one. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and add salt, pepper, choloula AND tobasco, ketchup, and syrup, but these eggs tasted like straight up garbage. Besides that, the brunch potatoes were ok (after putting salt and pepper on them) and my pancakes were alright. IHOP would ve satisfied us more. Sorry Jonathon, but we re not coming back! I was craving chicken and waffles so found Jonathons diner. Chicken was bland only thing good about it was the breading. Waffle was great and sweet. Chicken friend steak was over cooked and flavorless. Potatoes were undercooked and hard. Gravy was awesome but barely saved the meal. Overall I had high expectations and left disappointed.

I recently visited this diner near Methodist Hospital and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and easy access. Stepping into the diner, I was enveloped by a warm and inviting ambiance, with a cozy, relaxed atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The charming decor, thoughtfully arranged, further enhanced the dining experience. The food was served hot, and the service was friendly, precisely what you hope for and expect in a diner. My only suggestion is that the chicken fried steak could use more seasoning, but I was still pleased with the dish and found it to be a great value.

Visited on Fathers Day 6/16/2024 around 11 am for brunch. You cannot be seated until your whole party is there and ready, so keep that in mind. 4 stars is because our server was extremely slow ( it took about 10 mins after ordering a mimosa to receive it). One person in our group had to wait for her food while the rest of us had our plates, so thats another reason. The food is good, though. Prices are decent. First time trying this place, but not sure Ill go back. Parking is limited also so scared how it would look super packed. See my pictures. Follow my adventures

Delicious fried chicken and waffles. Thats all Ive had and I would definitely return. Chicken breast was thin and crispy and served piping hot. Gravy was peppery and flavorful and the waffle was light fluffy and just right. Everything was seasoned just like I like it. We were there on a weekday mid morning and sat at our table catching up for a long time and the service was friendly and efficient and left us alone until we were ready. Dont know her name but she was sweet and took good care of us and refilled coffee whenever we were ready. Cute spot- bar seating, booths and tables. Good place for breakfast.

Been here several times even at the old location. Food is always good. This time I was very irritated by the older lady with the short hair cut. Shes a bit rough and rude to be a hostess at the door. First time back since they moved. Great spot! Visited on a Sunday for brunch, so it was kinda busy. Kudos to the hostess for getting us seated in less time than she quoted. Parking is still a bit dicey because of the close quarters around the building, but at least the lot was close; unlike the old building. Our orders were received fast & hot. The atmosphere is so comforting. They have outside seating as well. They told us to sit anywhere that was open. The menu looks plain and flimsy but the food was exceeding expectations. I have a picture of what me and my friends ordered. I got a big waffle, bacon, eggs , potatoes, and 2 sausages for $10!!!!!! Chileeee. The food came hot and fast. I say about 5 minutes. Johnathons was loud, service was almost non-existant, and sandwich I ordered was something Id never order again. Club sandwich, fries were really good, so Im thinking its more of a breakfast place and to only order breakfast with French fries. Had to flag a waiter down to pay, gal at bar area, which was where I sat was totally engulfed with the man at the end of the bar, another employee or manager possibly. They both were too busy on a tablet. Several tables with lots of people were very loud, which didnt help the atmosphere. Wont be back to this restaurant anytime soon. Today I visited this diner. My waitress was not friendly at all! I spent more time watching her pick up her phone and talk to her coworkers. I let her know it was my 1st time. She was short snappy and did bear minimum. I asked for extra gravy for my steak and was charged extra $3. (I felt a bit obsessive seeing as though it already came with my meal. Jonathon s had been on my list since I moved to Dallas. It s a local favorite, so I was glad to go. Unfortunately, I wasn t blown away. The service was mid - it wasn t as welcoming as I d expect from a diner. It kind of felt as if they were indifferent about serving us. The atmosphere is fine, it s what you d expect from a diner. It was small and quaint. Now for the food, it was decent. They give you hearty portions and the flavor is okay. I ordered biscuits & gravy (I was quite disappointed - this is my favorite breakfast dish; it was brown gravy and the seasoning was off), eggs (delicious - they were cooked perfectly), grits (amazing I could ve filled up on them alone) & turkey sausage (not good at all, the texture wasn t the best). I also had margarita. My total was around $30. I think it s worth a try, but I don t know if I will try again anytime soon. Parking: They have a free parking lot, but since they re typically busy it was hard to find a spot

The customer service is HORRIBLE, the fat guy who added us to the waitlist was really rude when we asked about our wait time because we had already been waiting for over 45 minutes. They initially said it would be a 30 minute wait then gave us an option to split the table so we decided to go ahead and out of nowhere he said he didn t have the tables to split us either .. which was a complete lie. He then told us we could go eat somewhere else if we didn t want to wait completely RUDE even though we never got an attitude with him. Not only did he waste our time he lied to our face about the seating situation. Will NEVER come back or recommend this place. We drove up the street to another restaurant and were able to be sat down immediately! They need to work on their customer service here!!

I really wanted to try this place based on the food reviews but they just made me waste my time. Was in Dallas from out of town and we asked for a table of 8. Was told it would be a 30 minute wait. We waited outside since we were told they would call us. 40 minutes in, I went to ask for an update and they told me that they weren t sure how much longer it would be. They said they had a table for 5 but that it would require for them to split the other 3. I went to discuss it with my family and they agreed. I went back to accept and they kept making excuses acting as if they didn t want to seat us. Meanwhile they kept seating other customers. They ended up asking me if the check was going to be 1 or split. Why would that matter? They started making more excuses and basically said that they still couldn t accommodate us separately after they offered to seat us at least separately. We ended up having to leave. I never leave reviews but this was very inconsiderate of them. They made us waste more than an hour for nothing. Please save your time and go somewhere else. Horrible service and communication! The employees were a fat guy with a slight beard and another guy that looked filipino.

We went today for the 1st time while in town visiting family. The food was amazing. I got the chicken and biscuit and loved every bit of it. It was so full of flavor. The berries and the peanut butter fluff were amazing. Well there was no fluff. More like peanut butter crumbles. Not even close. I barely ate any and asked the young lady what happened to the fluff. Her response really didnt answer me nor did she address my concerns. Paid my tab which included a takeout order and left. Very meh kinda experience. Wouldnt recommend this dish. So we got here it was a 30 minute wait to be seated. We were sat in the patio It took our waitress Melissa 10 minutes to come introduce herself and then another five minutes for her to bring back our waters. Upon bringing the waters she explained that she had wasted some of the waters and that s why it took so long but one had something floating in it and the other had something red on the outside of the glass. We told her and since she was on the patio she just hurled the waters on to the fence line. Seemed a bit aggressive but she eventually took our orders. While we waited we noticed that when the wind would blow it smelled like sewage. Not a very appealing smell when you ve come to eat. It took over an hour for our food to come out and when it came out it was just warm after an hour wait I expect hot food but I didn t want to wait another hour so just went on and ate the food. There were 7 people in our party and my husband s food didn t come out right away with ours but his waffle did. 10 minutes later his food came out and she apologized stating she had dropped it so she asked them to make it fresh. We understood proceeded to ask for silverware we watched her come out with another couples food before she ever came back with silverware. My husband grabbed his own silverware and she said she was coming right back. No one likes cold food. We then proceeded to ask for butter and syrup and again another five minutes or longer before she brought those items. She was just very scattered brained everyone has bad days though. Do I think she was worth the 18% gratuity No but our party was large so I understand but when the service doesn t match the tip it becomes unfair. The food was pretty tasty all things considering. All in all loved the food the service was subpar and the wait was excessive.

Sigh. I really dont know where to begin. Chicken steak that is bigger than a St. Bernard (and infinitely more tasty...at least I assume as I have not eaten St. Bernard). The fried chicken and waffles is one of the best Ive had in DFW (I Dont know what they put in that fried chicken batter but I am hooked). The house burger is messy, scrumptious, and I am pretty sure its healthy for you as well. If you need an egg, you cant do better than the standard breakfast (rock solid) or bump it up a bit with the Country Benedict.

The first time we visited this establishment. My fiancé took me there for brunch at that time. It was very good. A waiter was very nice. Did everything perfectly. We decided to go back again for my birthday. Very, very, very bad. Ill wait for tyes. I can even put into words to describe this female. She was very bad and needs to possibly find a new job. Something shes good at. We did not receive the food that we ordered. We received food that we did not order on top of finally getting the food we ordered. Everything was cold, just nasking. God drinks that we did not order. We decided that we didnt want it at all and to go somewhere else. I asked to speak to a manager. This is my new breakfast spot when in the area. Its an awesome old style diner with good food and warm service. The cheese grits are my favorite. I prefer hearty grits and not the soupy kind. These were thick and creamy. Bacon was thick and crispy, and cooked well. Friends ordered chicken and waffles and enjoyed them... Bottom line, great food, service, and price. I will return!

Been a fan of Jonathans for a long time and had been going to the original location since they opened. I decided to check out the diner this time and it was pretty disappointing. Service was great and staff was friendly. The food however was lackluster. Got the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was flavorless and overcooked. The bread was soggy and falling apart. The fries were soggy and undercooked. Really disappointing. Update: I got food poisoning.

This restaurant is located right across the street from my girlfriends apartment so its very easy to just cross the street and dine in. Food is always very good. Best chicken fried steak in DFW. Good portions and good service (most of the time). Even with the service lacking sometimes, I dont care because the food is too good. Some of these negative reviewers need to shove their entitlement up their you know whats.

I used to be a regular here, and I decided to come in today, and Mercedes was my server, and I hadn t been in months, and she was fantastic and bubbly; she made me want to continue to become a regular again she was so attentive and she actually paid attention.

Reviewed this restaurant from google and knew I had to check them out. Parking is scarce however if you know how to parallel then your good. First impression of interior was very warm, welcoming, and peaceful. Staff was very nice! We will be back next time we re in Dallas. Edit: reply to diner: Correct. There is regular parking which all those spaces were taken. In the back are 3 parallel spots. I was like okay let s show my skills. Lol. There is no problem here. Great restaurant just tight parking lot.

Overall, the food was delicious but our waitress Mercedes was just so mean. She was rude and inpatient since we sat down. She took out orders, then she forgot my food for over 30 minutes. I had to flag her down because she barely checked on the table. However, I saw she checked everyone else s table. I was able to get my meal comped, which is why I left a tip. I kept the receipt because I was worried and I was right. She committed fraud by overtipping what I gave her. I would have gone back for the food, but because of the service and knowing I would be stolen from is not appealing. The restaurant is good, just be careful if you decided to eat there.

First, I ve eaten at this restaurant many times throughout the years. The visit before this we received awful customer service at the bar by a very elderly guy. This visit was the absolutely the last straw, I will not be returning to this place. I was solo this day. I walked only to be seated at the bar. The elderly lady at the host stand had two people she already was talking to so I waited. As it appeared to me the conversation was over I then to proceed to speak, she then interrupted me and said I m speaking with them. I looked in confusion. She proceeded to seat the people. Let me remind you I m still standing there only to let her know I m sitting at the bar and I m solo. A group of woman of three then came in, she walked back to stand and proceeded with them. I said abruptly, Excuse me! She asked, how many is in your party? I said I ve been trying to tell you I m solo and will seat myself at the bar! ( the bar was empty, btw) she then snatched up a menu and walked over to the bar not even looking behind herself because I still was standing at the door. She then raised her arm up to come over and I turned around and walked out! If I would had went off on her I would have been wrong, but I m older and wiser. All your people are paying customers! Don t assume that everyone is with a big party. NEVER RETURNING! Have your staff to take some lessons on customer service

Ive went here twice for their chicken and waffles on a Sunday and its the best chicken and waffles Ive tasted so far. The staff is friendly and professional. They get a pretty nice crowd during their lunch hour on Sundays. This has become one of my favorite places

The lady that seats people is extremely rude. Our waiter wasnt the best either. I ordered the all in one waffle or whatever its called the bacon was not cooked at all. I had to pick all the bacon out to eat. However they do have good waffles. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak and the steak was over cooked and not enjoyable. The potatoes were good though. Our friend got pancakes and had to order new ones because they were not cooked thoroughly. We also got the Biscuit and gravey for starters and the Biscuit was extremely salty again something that couldve been enjoyable. Overall there was alot of potential here but will not be going back. New management or something needs to happen. I heard many complaints during the time we were there.

Went in right after rush hour @2pm. & the staff was great from walking in the door. Service was excellent!. Nowwww let me tell you about that food Lorddd it was delicious! I didnt get a before pic the presentation of the food was fabulous though. Ohhh but the taste, SCRUMPTIOUS . I had the Danger Dogs, Cheese grits, & 2 eggs scramble. Everythang EVERYTHANG EVERYTHINGGG was delicious. The danger dogs are pancake mix dipped turkey links & the batter was just right. Its served w/spicy mustard. I ate it with the mustard & syrup . I give the entire experience a 1000!

This use to be one of my favorite places to take family and visiting friends. However today was worst experience. Even while trying to order to go. The lady that worked the front door was very rude and walked off while trying to speak with her. All she stated was that the kitchen is back up. Visiting for the state fair, wanted something local before heading back home and stumbled upon Jonathons Diner. Wait was supposed to be 30 mins, we waited 10 at most. Ordered and got our food in another 10 minutes. Fastest food Ive ever experienced in a busy restaurant. Every table was taken! Service was great, checked on us enough but didnt hover (exactly what I like). Portions were much bigger than anticipated! Flavor was on point Pork sausage was a little too greasy, but thats the only thing negative I have to say. They even cooked my egg exactly like I wanted (youd be surprised how many places dont know how to make over medium eggs). I got the Fried chicken & Biscuit 10/10 Highly recommend and will be back!
