A local friend highly recommended this place. Was visiting from out of town and needed to get dinner before heading back on the road. To be clear - when I looked up restaurant I thought we were going to Katz21 (not the bar 21 attached.) Regardless it is affiliated and should have some level of continuity. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day .but had a very unpleasant experience. For reference, we were one of the first and only tables on a weekday. Service : Was extremely slow, had to ask twice for everything including ketchup, refill, bill etc. Menu: The bar menu was extremely limited and as a pescatarian there were no options. The bar is attached to the main dining & kitchen and asked if they could do a grilled cheese. The answer was a hard no. In hindsight I should have ordered To-Go from main restaurant and brought to bar..or at least given that option. My friend ordered a caesar salad (not on bar menu) which was mediocre at best. Quality: Went ahead and ordered carb bar food nothing really stood out. The apps at a Chilis offer more pizzazz. The condiment to food ratio was silly .it took forever to get a second ketchup. The waitress seemed confused on whether they stocked Coke or Pepsi as she kept correcting our request. I don t have a preference - but what we got the first time vs. the refill was questionable After all that, I blame myself for trying to order a cappuccino for the road. We were told they needed to turn-on the machine and it would be a minute. After a very long wait I was given a large styrofoam cup with a straw. I don t know what I was given .and don t want to know Final Thoughts : Nothing about this place was at the level. Not one thing .

I wasnt sure what to expect as some of my pre-ops gave the impression that it was more of an upscale scale dining establishment, so much so, that the first time I went, I had a panic attack for feeling underdressed and drove away before entering. However I soon discovered that while my initial impression of fancy food was mostly correct, Facebook showed a more humble side of the attire frequently worn to dinner here and decided to try it again. And boy was I glad I did. I was on the hunt for a packed salad with plenty of greens and was not disappointed with the fresh produce and presentation. My husband ordered the ribeye which was perfectly cooked. I do generally recommend eating at the bar if possible as the service is more attentive and faster but this was especially true here. 10/10 will dress up to eat here again.

This restaurant is an absolute treat and worth every penny. Our server, Wilfrid, was absolutely amazing; detailed knowledge of every menu item, very personable, and friendly. We were out for our anniversary, and he did several cute things to make the day even more special. The customer service was top notch all the way through, and while it was pricey, it was certainly worth it. 10/10, will be back again.

Their service was poor!!! We endured a four-hour wait before our food finally arrived, and it certainly not worth the wait. To make matters worse, the manager failed to offer any apology for the delay. Our cherished Mothers Day celebration was completely ruined. We will never come back.

So disappointed to have to write this review. I brought my mother, my husband and 2 children to Katz for the Mothers Day Brunch, and was so disappointed. For starters, even though we reserved a table online, we were told (after confirming) seating was not available in the fine dining section, but moved to the bar. The bar area smelled rancid, like an old dirty bar mat. We were there for almost 3 hours, And there is only five tables in our section, with two servers. We had to repeatedly ask for water and beverages, finished our food before the server brought the hot sauce we requested. Although the main courses were, for the most part, very tasty, the desserts were not good at all. Our bill came to almost $500 To include a $70+ gratuity. When I asked about the gratuity (since we only had a party of 5 and no where was gratuity advertised) she said the + on the menu meant that gratuity was included. We have had way better service at a fast food restaurant. We don t get to all go out to eat very often, let alone to a place that claims to offer a fine dining experience so to have to spend that much money on the one day a year, a mom can expect a break, is not only disappointment, but very stressful to spend so much for nothing. I know holidays may not always be the best time to go out to eat, But we were the second family in the door and had the 10:30 AM reservation. We saw families that came in after us that went on the fine dining side, all leaving the restaurant before we had ever gotten our main course. In addition, the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, rundown, dirty floors, not clean. If I could give this experience zero stars, I would.

Went there to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and hate to say that we are very disappointed. We got there at 7:00pm and did not leave there until 10pm not because we wanted to be there that long but thats how long it took us to finally eat and the place wasnt even busy. Took waitress forever to get anything we needed. I ordered a Prime Rib and i specifically told the waitress that it had to be well done (medical reasons) and it came smothered in something that looked like the thickest gravy I had ever seen, I asked her why they put gravy on prime rib and she said that it was Au jus sauce. I cut into it and it was dripping in blood, now I have this thick au jus mixed with blood all over my plate . I brought it up to her when she came to check on us 10 minutes later, meanwhile I am starving, she takes the prime back and says she will have it fixed of course I tell her that I dont want the gravy over it, she comes right back with a fresh prime rib drops it off and takes off doesnt even wait for me to cut into it to see if it is okay, now I know why the second one was RAW also. I was so livid, I did not send this one back because I was so hungry I just ate around the red. It was all downhill from there. I paid well over $200 and lost three hours of my life tonight at this place. We have been here several times and it has never been this bad. The only reason I didnt ask for the manager was because my husband wanted to eat here and have a nice anniversary dinner so I didnt want to ruin our anniversary by complaining. When we got in the car my husband told me that we would never eat here again, he did not enjoy his meal either. I told him that I wanted to complain to the manager but I didnt want to ruin our night and he said, you needed to complain when you are spending 200.00 of our hard earned money on bad service.

This was our first time here and it was definitely a different experience in Corpus Christi. Our waiter Chris was very informative on the menu. He asked if it was our first time which I thought was extremely helpful so he was able to give us some great choices. Great waiter! The fact that they take thier time in bringing you the appetizer and then wait to bring you your soup or salad after your done with your appetizer was the best. Most restaurants bombard you with appetizers, then your salad and you food and your tables covered and you have no room. This was definitely a delightful dinner we finished our appetizer he boxed it up and then brought our salads once we were done then brought our entrees. Perfect timing. The food was excellent. The drinks were great he even went into details on all they had to offer including telling us about the bar in the back with live music. We will definitely be returning. Whether it s date night or just feeling like some nice ambiance atmospheric time this is the place!

We picked a fine dining restaurant for our anniversary dinner. We visited Katz21s website and read the dress codes and dressed appropriately. The stuffed lobster tail and rack of lamb were good, as were the wines. However, Im withholding a five star for atmosphere, because their dress codes said no ball caps, and there were 3 men sitting at tables wearing their caps, and no one said a word to them. They should have been stopped at the door and given notice! There is nothing more despicable than seeing a grown man wear a hat at the dinner table! Why post a dress code if the establishment will not enforce the codes?

One of the worst services Ive ever received. The booth I was sitting on was taped together and looking like it was falling apart and wobbling when I leaned back. When it was brought up and I asked to move they said they where aware of the issue but they couldnt move us. A few mins later they finally found us a new spot after complaining but charged us a 20 dollar service fee for moving spots when they gave us a broken table in the first place which isnt right imo. The waiter looked confused and unhelpful through the service. I wouldnt recommend this resturant. I wont be coming back.

We overall had a very good experience. The escargot with crab was ok, the crab cake was ok (the sauce over powered it) the beef dishes were very good (flavorful and tender), the lobster Mac n cheese was mediocre (dry and not much flavor and not worth the extra $24) and the bananas foster was very good. The service was very good and attentive, but felt a little like they were constantly up selling. I would return, knowing a little better what dishes to order.

We had our 35th year high school reunion here with about 50 people. We had the room on the side reserved and it was warm in there. I like the set up tho. High tables with bench seating on the far walls. Intimate so youre mingling at every turn but it was warm. Appetizers were great! Service was awesome! Drinks were amazing!

Our server Andy was fantastic. We had a group of 7. He paced our meal perfectly. We waited for nothing and we wanted for nothing. The wine pairing was on point as well. My husband ordered their tomahawk which they filet off the bone for you table side (is definitely large enough to share.) Was cooked emaculatly and presented just as well. We have eaten here several times before they have high standards of service and we love that about them. This is a place you get what you pay for.

The service was exceptional for a single server. The Iberico pork was very good and the lobster bisque was the star of the show. Heard about Katz from a friend at work and decided to take my Girlfriend there for her birthday. We called to make reservations and after a few questions Isabella had us set up. Upon arrival we was greeted at the door by Isabella. She was very warm and friendly. She showed us to our booth and gave us our waitress name, Hailey. Hailey arrived promptly and was very warm and friendly. She was very helpful to us in selecting our orders. And her smile and good nature was contagious. Our drinks and food was brought out in no time. The meal was delicious as was our dessert. I cannot say enough about this place. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. This dining experience was second to none and made my Girlfriends Birthday so very special and yes we will be back. Once again I can not say enough to compliment Hailey, our server. We reserved a table for 4 for a special anniversary and everything was wonderful! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with the welcoming hostess as well as the maitre d. Our server was friendly and informative. The food was delicious and the drinks were top notch. What a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays with friends.

Service was amazing. Food has dropped significantly over the year. Steaks were embarrassing. Was in a group not a single person liked their food. Steak was overcooked, cuts were sub par (my filet was shredding apart not cutting) . The pork iberico was a sub not real Iberico. Overall disappointment. Drinks however were good and the waitress worked hard to make it right. Also this is just me. The music was so loud you couldnt talk to the person next to you. I appreciate the music but maybe tone it down so ppl dont leave with headaches.

First time at this restaurant, and it was a semi-special occasion. Regardless, I definitely recommend this place. I wasnt disappointed at any point during the night. Our server, Triston I believe his name is, did an excellent job and acted 5 steps ahead, anticipating things we would or wouldnt need. Excellent service! The food was also excellent, starting with the appetizer, the Katz Meow and the Lobster Bisque. Both excellent starters, especially as seafood options. The main course, the bone-in ribeye and the prime rib, were absolutely fantastic and cooked to perfection. Tender, just enough spice, and juicy. The whipped potatoes and carrots as sides were enough, but we decided to get a shareable side in the form of au-gratin potatoes. No complaints. I also ordered a custom martini and they were able to accommodate. This is a place where you get what you pay for, but it can be a little spendy, so choose the occasion wisely!

Last night we dined here for my daughters 25th birthday. Will was our server and he was amazing. He carefully explained the full menu and listened to all of our questions. The calamari was delicious! The steaks came out very tender, including one that was cooked well done. We had the Godiva cheesecake - it was amazing!!! Thank you Will, for making our dinner a great experience!

Had a fabulous dinner at Katz last night! Out server John was top notch and we took him up on all of his suggestions and we were not disappointed. The best steaks I have ever eaten. 8oz filet mignon with whipped potatoes along with the Katz steak and cake was amazing. The appetizer the katz meow was so delicious! Ate there last night. The red fish was excellent. The combo was really talented but way too loud for the venue. It was hard to hold a normal conversation. For what they were playing it took away from the effect and impact of the music. The kid playing the Goden was excellent and new what it could do. Warhall!

4.5 stars! The Greek-style lamb was exemplary. The bread is a sourdough thats rested for 24 hours, so its incredibly flavorful. If you have the lobster bisque, its sweet, so ask for some ground peppercorn -- goes a long way. Highly recommend!

So here we go again. Visiting corpus Christi from San Antonio and wanted to visit their BEST steakhouses. Dont be fooled by the nice building and atmosphere as you walk in. Took forever to get a waitress and took 1 hour to get our salads because the appetizers were taking to long was their reason. After finally getting our salad and appetizers we stacked our own plates on the corner of our table where they sat for who knows how long. After about an hour and a half the waitress assured us our food was on its way, it wasnt. As the so called manager walked by asking how everything was going, not expecting for anyone to answer, I asked does this place always take this long. Hos response was well for fine dining it usually takes up to 45 minutes. I replied by letting him know it took an hour just to get a salad. He promptly left and never returned, what a manager. Our waitress continued to apologize but by this time I had lost my appetite. Stick to fast food in this city or chain restaurants everything else is a complete joke. He said fine dining like I didnt know where I was at?please I eat at places like this on my lunch break back at home.

This was probably the worst experience I ve ever had in a fine dining restaurant. Our salads took 45 minutes to bring to the table. After an hour and half we still didn t have our dinner. I asked one of our two servers to check on our dinner. She said she would and proceeded to go to another table to collect dishes. When she returned 5 minutes later I asked what did you find out. For a second time she responded I ll go check. I said don t. I asked for the check. Exiting the restaurant I asked for the manager and was told he was too busy running food. The hostess made a very poor attempt to apologize as she was too busy trying do other things. A very disappointing experience as my wife and I had hoped to have a nice dinner and walked out without even the manager caring one way or the other. FYI, we have dined at some of the finest restaurants in this country but never been treated so poorly.
