This was hands down the best restaurant Ive been to in a long long time. Our waitress, Melissa, was absolutely amazing, attentive, and very sweet. The food is worth the money and is A LOT of food, and the atmosphere is a perfect mix of nice and casual. Overall a 100/10 experience

I dont want say to much about this very old place. My review is related on food from last night. We order my husband and I, the special of the day, a flounder cook with white wine and citrus, for $60/plate (very expensive) we expected something very different, the flounder was like boil served with a mash potato flavor basil and few frozen roast vegetables. Very disappointed.

Small intimate space that offers great dining views of the bay. Our server Isabela was very good...knowledgeable and personable. From our greeting at the door throughout our whole dining experience, this was a very special night. Oysters Rockefeller was great to start our meal. Tasty cocktails and very large wine list! Entrees of Lobster Thermidor and Flounder was exceptional in flavor and presentation. And Tiramisu was a great way to end the meal! Really love everything about this Corpus Christi gem!

A true treat! We are always so impressed when we visit the Yardarm. The charming atmosphere is second to none for CC, truly feels as if you re along the East Coast. Quaint, cozy and the food is fresh, unique and so good. We usually try the specials while here but everything we ve tried from the appetizers to the regular offerings on the menu, the specials and desserts have all been fantastic. A wonderful experience!

Serine atmosphere right on the water. Our server named Mel was very knowledgeable in the items on the menu. She also gave us the off menu items and went into great details about the flavors and told us her favorites as well! Loved her hospitality. We enjoyed salmon and fried shrimp. We started off with ceviche(fish) it was delicious. We also had crab cakes and they were delicious. The soup was clam chowder it was good and tasted fresh. The house salad and the bread were fresh and tasty as well. The salmon was incredible I will definitely order again. It was an off menu item. I had a top shelf margarita that was very good as well. Over all this restaurant is a 10 out of 10!!! Make your reservation today!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary and it was amazing! Every dish is carefully curated and tastes amazing. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer. It came with steamed spinach and melted in your mouth perfectly. The soup was new England clam chowder and gazpacho, both perfect small servings. Their salad has house-made sauces that go well together. Usually, Im not a fan of balsamic vinegar or Dijon mustard, but wow, these were perfectly mixed. For our entre, I had the ribeye medium rare, and my husband got the Tuna steak medium rare with a coconut curry. Both were perfectly cooked and had a great crust. Lastly, to celebrate, we got he chocolate mousse. Best way to end a meal. I 100% recommend this place to couples.

The review by Kelsey Flowers was a made up/fake review. She and some man were walking their dog on the restaurant and apartment property on Monday, Memorial Day, when the restaurant was closed. I told them to get the dog off the property, but instead they allowed the large dog to take a dump on the property. The man did pick it up, but residue was left. I am not the owner or manager. I just help out behind the scenes. and use to live at Summer Place Apartments after being displaced by Hurricane Harvey. The property is treated by many as a public park, even though it is private property. I do not appreciate Kelseys slams or lies towards me. If she is lucky enough maybe she will still be alive at 71. LOL The owners of the restaurant work endlessly to maintain the inside and outside of the property. Credible reviews are always appreciated.

Roaches and Horrible owners!! I hate to even leave reviews but oh my god this place was the ultimate disappointment. Walking up to an adorable little yellow building the kitchen is to the right. We were expecting wonderful service and great food. We were treated to the opposite. We didn t even stay to eat because after we made our drink order we spotted two giant roaches on a windowsill. The couple that was near that table left without even touching their food either. When we let the waiter know that we would like to finish our drinks then leave and that they may want to address the cockroach situation he was polite and let the white haired witch know of the problem. Instead of handling it with poise and humility she decided to accuse my husband and I of lying to get a free meal . I have never been so insulted and by a woman who looks like she should honestly pass on a few meals and hasn t seen a toothbrush in 10 years. The wait staff was friendly and polite but the white haired heavy set lady who seams to be the owner or manger - she is a maliciously rude and arrogant person. She was yelling at people walking their dogs on the sidewalk when we left the restaurant. I hope they get a visit from a health inspector soon before someone gets sick.

We came here with a party of 6 (including two young kids) and were really impressed by the food! We got the specials at the time, which were excellent. My salmon with a wasabi cream sauce was amazing, and the kids enjoyed their shrimp and mashed potatoes. The only thing to keep in mind is that this is all made fresh and might take a while to come out, but our waiter was great and kept them topped off on bread and butter until our dishes arrived.

40 years ago I courted my wife here @ the Yard Arm Corpus Christi. 2 grown Children & 7 Grandchildren later, we have come back. Constantine & Diane havent changed a bit ( along with this super cute, cozy, quaint atmosphere ) . . . as we had before, we shared Oysters Rockefeller, Blue Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, Clam Chowder, and the special Seared Tuna. For Dessert we had the Creme Brule. The Service was great & everything was absolutely perfect. The Yard Arm Restaurant will stay in our hearts as one of the many things we love about Corpus Christi. First and foremost, the service at this place is second to none, imo. Been twice over three last 3 months and had two different female servers. Both servers were excellent! The ambiance is awesome as well. One of the last old-school places still around. Tons of history and character in there. Romantic, charming place as well. The complaint I have is with the price of the specials. Last nite my g-friend ordered the red snapper special. I didnt even ask for the price when she ordered, because that question always insulates, you cheapskate. We got the bill and her fish was $55?! I cldnt believe it. Here we are, steps from the bay/ocean, where the snapper is readily caught and available, and they wanna charge $55. No way.... We go to New Orleans often, considered by many as the top seafood town in the US. The highest rated restaurant in NO, Commanders Palace, dsnt charge more than $40 for any of their fish dishes. Neither does Clancys, another NO institution. Therefore, neither should Yardarm. Shame on them for that..(And btw, the red snapper special was just ok). That said, the shrimp Dejonge at Yardarm is such an interesting, incredible dish imo. The homemade crab cakes are great as well. I will def go back just for those. Therefore I wld recommend this restaurant, but my advice is to not order the specials.

I am incredibly disappointed with this place. After much excitement having read the reviews online, we tried to go last week. We called and made a reservation for 5:30 for 4 people but ended up running a little late. We called to see if we could push the reservation by 30 minutes and the hostess on the phone actually said Jesus, try to make it by 5:30! Not off to a good start but we hurried and arrived by 5:42. Upon arrival the place was empty. The hostess (elderly woman, very grumpy and unpleasant) refused to sit us anywhere in the place other than next to the kitchen. She was so rude that we ended up leaving without even sitting down. Given that we live within walking distance, congratulations on losing customers and possibly ongoing business. If she leaves, we will be back, but for the time being it is impossible to support and establishment with such poor customer service.

The place is small. You must have a reservation. Otherwise, you will be eating outside fighting with the fly. Food is ok but overpriced for the amount they serve. For the military community, they do not offer any military discount. Apparently, they dont clean their dishes, cups, or silverware very well. I told the waitress to bring me another cup of coffee because it has lipstick marks on the cup. She came back with another cup, and she took it back because it had something else. In summary, the experience was not very pleasant. I wont recommend this place.

Parking: For a Tuesday night the restaurant was more than half full with plenty of parking left couldn t say what it would be like on a weekend evening. An interesting experience. Dichotomy of fine food and fish shack. The owners are wonderful. The service is wonderful. The crab cakes are amazing. I ordered the fresh Drum. Crust is tasty and the sauce was adequate. Two bites in I encountered a mass of salt. Just in one area of the filet. Simply put I was asalted by this fish. Might be payback for my personal assaults of fish. I can only assume salt was spilled or a minor chef is sabotaging. Hopefully not the later. I wish this establishment another 49 years. Check totaled $91. 2 glasses of Chardonnay, 2 crab cake appetizer, entre with potatoes and a wonderful green bean blended with seafoods. Solo diner.

The waitress was no where to be found for a while so I couldn t tell her I didn t enjoy it. When she finally came I did she said I should have told her earlier and didn t seem very sorry. No offers to get me something else or to remove it from the ticket. Really sad!

Funky spot run by an older couple. The food is spot on. Had a tender, delicious ribeye cooked exactly the way I ordered it. Came with soup (clam chowder) and a small spinach salad. Soup was one of the best that I have had in a while. Salad came with two homemade dressings on the side. The Bombay was reminiscent of a green goddess, and the reduced balsamic was so good I saved some to pour over my vegetables. Only complaint is that I wish my glass of cabernet was poured with a heavier hand. Oh well, you cant have it all.

The owners of Yardarm Restaurant, Constantine & Karen, are gracious, wonderful couple who love people a much as they love serving great seafood in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere in their Corpus Christi Bay cottage. The Chef, Chris, is master with seafood, side dishes and deserts. The wait staff is always courteous, friendly and attentive. The staff does not turn tables; you get your table for the leisurely duration of the superb five course meal. Each course is served with allowing all seated to finish said course before the next course is brought out. You can savor each bite at a leisurely, conversational pace. My favorite appetizers are the crab cakes and oysters Rockefeller. My wife loves the New England clam chowder (as do I) but my favorite soup is the gazpacho with a teaspoon of the Chefs balsamic dressing stirred in to add zest to the fresh vegetable soup. The seafood entrees are always delectable and a delight to the taste buds! With the relaxed pace of the meal, there will be room for one of their excellent deserts, choose the one that entices you the most, they all are superb.

This is gonna be a weird review, but stick with me. Service was great and friendly, drinks were strong, food generally speaking tasted good/great until my wife received her market-priced ribeye. It was cooked well enough except that half is the $52 steak (salad, soup, veggies included) contained a very tough tendon that was impossible to cut out or eat around. She could not eat half of her steak. I politely asked the server and he said he would inform the manager. When the bill came it was $182 and there were no concessions for the inedible half of the steak. I asked to speak with the manager who multiple times told me we try our best to get the best pieces of meat and we are sorry yours wasn t tender. I informed him of the tendon (not tender) and he repeated the same spiel. He seemed not concerned that half of my wife s steak was inedible. I let him know that this was the only bad part of the meal and he still seemed unfazed. I left wishing this could have gone better but the management totally failed for this very expensive dinner for 2.

The fish was wonderfully prepared with the right texture, sauces and perfect taste. The special included a small cup of clay chowder and a spinach salad with tasty housemade vinaigrette, brown sugar dressing. This old converted house with an ocean view needs some backyard renovations in order to do justice to this knowledgeable chef with superior skills.

After hearing nothing but good things- pretty disappointed overall. Such an awesome atmosphere, but the food was overpriced and nothing was stellar. The most expensive item on the menu (lobster) was uncomfortably bad. Wouldn t go back for good. Drinks, maybe.

We find this local treasure to be absolutely charming. The off the menu specials never fail. The waitstaff are delightful, attentive and unobstrusive. The view and atmosphere...sigh, the best. But the owners are my favorite of all. Really lovely people, genuinely interested in their customers enjoyment of a fine meal, exquisitely prepared and plated. Wine choices and cocktails are fun too.

Had the grouper. You wont go away hungry from this place. The bread, the soup, the salad, the main course with potato and vegetable. I also had dessert and a chocolate martini. $62 after tax before tip. I wanted another chocolate martini. I dont know if the price is not good for you but you shouldnt miss this place. Its a very romantic rustic old cabin like place with a view of the bay if you get there when they open. After it gets dark you see the lights of the Bay. Very romantic. Even if you go by yourself! Everything was high-class and delicious. I noticed most people were ordering wine. They must have a pretty good menu for that too Im guessing. Dont miss this place!

Don t walk your dog or even glance over near the Yardarm s side of Ocean Drive. We were having a pleasant walk on Ocean up until my dog stepped off the sidewalk and just then the owner pulls in a verbally berates us and threatens to call police because he briefly walked on their grass. Calm it down, what a performance. I have worked in the restaurant industry for years and this is the worst attitude I ve ever seen, from owner down to host, without us even being patrons! I hate to imagine how they treat walk-in parties if we got that barrage from a dog stepping off the sidewalk. I was thinking about reserving a table at a nearby local place like theirs but the owners attitude was horrid.

The reason the restaurant got 2 stars, is because of the beautiful view. The owner (mom) may want to take a step back from interacting with guests and allow others to do the seating. Enjoy a nice retirement or something of that sort. The food is way overpriced, the crowd is pretentious, and the restrooms are inconveniently placed. But the view of the bay is AMAZING!!

We ate there tonight (8/7/2021). The food was great and the service was outstanding. It is one of the few restaurants Ive been to where you can take your time and enjoy each course without feeling like you are being rushed to make way for the next customer. It is fairly expensive, but everything was good. The meals come with soup, salad, and bread and butter. We made reservations and asked to be seated outside on the patio, which they did. It was nice to eat and enjoy the view of the bay.

First of all I would like to concur with what has been written in the other 5 star reviews. The Yardarm is an out-of-the-way hidden gem and one of the two best seafood restaurants in Corpus. There are non-seafood choices, but for us, seafood is the reason to visit. Absolutely fresh! My wife and I had a wonderful meal there last Saturday evening. I had the snapper papillote and my wife had a grilled fish of the day, both of which was excellent. Besides the great food (and great service), the ambiance is wonderful. Filled with nautical antiques, a cozy feel and a great view of the bay makes for a wonderful, relaxing and delicious dinner.

TLDR: tried to make a reservation over the phone but staff member was very rude so Ill take my business elsewhere. Deets: I called to make a reservation because I heard good things about this place. However, the staff member who answered the phone said he couldnt hear me, and was very short about it. I said give me a second to put in my headphones and he hung up. So I called back and politely tried to make a reservation. He told me there was no availability for that night (I was fine with that), but he was very rude and short with me and hung up. Baffled and disappointed, I decided I would never go there.

Make a Reservation before going! My husband and I went for our 10th Anniversary; we did not know that we should have made a reservation, and were very lucky that we were seated. The food was AMAZING!!! Our appetizers were followed by soup, salad then out entrées, which was very rich and flavorful. I DEFINITELY recommend. The entrées do take awhile, but it is worth the wait! The Champagne is great, as well! We will be going back; the prices were not too bad.

Havent eaten here and never will. I called to make a reservation for 2 and the man who answered the phone told me there were no availabilities. When I said oh, no availabilities for 2? for confirmation, he responded do we have to go through this again? in a very harsh, rude and aggressive tone. What a first impression - we were really excited to try this place but the not after this (brief though enlightening) experience.

The Yardarm is a gem on the beach of Corpus Christie. Recommend the fresh fish dinners. I ordered fried oysters and the breading had a spice that overwhelmed the oyster flavor. The oyster appetizer was delicious. The salads and homemade dressings great and fresh. The homemade creme brule delicious. Yummy wine. Light crispy bread. Nice atmosphere, friendly. Highly recommend. Local favorite. Not a chain

Such a wonderful place for a calm end to a busy week. The food and drinks are a beautiful compliment to the mood and environment of the restaurant. The elevated prices are warranted with the well-seasoned fresh seafood and ambiance that accompanies it. We loved hanging out near the pier in the backyard after a satisfying meal with friends.

First time we went there I walked in and the gentleman behind the counter was really nice and said they could seat us. I walked out to tell my family (of 5) and walked back in and the hostess, who appeared to be the mom was really rude and said she didn t have a table at all. I looked at the son and asked if we could wait and he said no because it was a Saturday... they flat out turned us away and talked down to the older gentleman who was the only courteous person we encountered in our experience at the yardarm. Very disappointing.

Yardarm is a good restaurant: attentive service, nice ambiance, comfortable and friendly, but I think their prices are way too expensive when you look at the portion sizes. We ordered the market fish specials ($35+?) and although the fish was well-prepared, the portions were laughably small. Imagine a large dinner plate with a 3oz serving of fish, a side of green beans (barely 2 forkfuls) and a mini-scoop of mashed potatoes (1/4 cup max). Im not looking for truck driver portions, but when the plates arrived all four of us were taken aback by the miserly portion sizes. We also ordered 2 appetizers: calamari & mushroom caps and there was barely enough calamari for each of us to have 2 pieces. The $31 market fish dinners came with a nice soup and salad, and all the items I tasted were very well-prepared, but the laughably tiny portions just created a negative overall impression.

Just walked up, restaurant is open another hour, and a lady walked up, looked at us rudely and said we don t have anything available, and closed the door. She never explained why, as we watched another table walk out. My boyfriend asked If we could wait on a table, and they said reservation only. The couple that had just exited said that was not true! Will never be back or recommend !!
