Great place to fish if youre careful. It is easy to get your line caught in the rocks. Be sure to cast past them, and reel fast to get over them. The sidewalk is smooth and easy to walk on. The rocks on the side can be slippery if wet or covered with algae. Great place to see sea turtles in the wild. Playground: No playground, but you can play on the beach. Picnic area: No tables or shelters.

Plenty of space to hang out, do some exercises, have a party, fishing, or just work on your tan. Trash cans and portable bathrooms are available. Playground: There is no playground Toilets: Half the time the restrooms are locked. Including the porta pottys. And always dirty. Dog-friendliness: Its a dog friendly place. There are no poop bags, so bring your own! And pick up your dogs poop, dont bury it please. Remember always keep your animal on a leash.. People dont pay attention as well as they should due to the ocean that can be a distraction. Besides the safety of others and their pets. The coyotes that live in near this area are a danger to you and your animal, so always keep them close. Picnic area: Theres a row of picnic tables. A little too close together..

Lots of soft sand around the jetty! Its scary to move in too close to the rocks. This evening, a truck got stuck in the sand not too far from my vehicle. Its too windy to walk the jetty, so we just sat in the car and watched the birds.

We were visiting from out of town and was told to go to luby Beach. It is a nice quiet beach for sure. The jetty was filled with people fishing and they were catching all kinds of fish, I believe sheeps head and blue crabs. If I were a fisherman this would be one of the spots to catch a lot of fish.

The most amazing place I have ever been to. If you haven t been here and you are in Texas you are missing out. I just absolutely loved it. It s so scenic and peaceful. I loved the waves crashing and sometimes you can get wet. It was so much fun. Ended up spending around 40 minutes. The walk is so relaxing and it s truly and beautiful sight. It was really hot the day we went there but as you get closer it s windy you can t feel the heat. Playground: The beach if your playground here Toilets: There are no restrooms. Just port-a potties Dog-friendliness: You could definitely bring your doggie on a walk or to the beach but have him on leash when you take him to the scenic point. Picnic area: Its a beach area and you could definitely picnic under an umbrella or canopy but there are no picnic tables.

Perfect place to swim, fish, picnic, shell hunt, and just about anything beach. Its also Mustang island state park so no fishing licence required. Just follow the rules. Have fun, stay safe. Dont forget the sunscreen lotion.

Great spot for surfing, fishing, and beach chilling! Get your beach parking pass and enjoy a bonfire, set up camp, and stay the night if you want. Watch the forecast for wind so you dont get sandblasted when the breeze picks up! The area just north of the jetty is typically the busiest, so if you dont specifically want to be next to the jetty, it might be worth driving farther down the beach for more space, especially during spring break or summer weekends. Also be aware that the bridge traffic to the island can get backed up during peak times, so plan accordingly to minimize the wait.

It was fun to walk my dog out on there to see the fisherman catching fish and the waves crashing on the rocks. There are even trash cans everywhere to use. Very clean. Easy access . Friendly atmosphere.

This was a good place to fish and just relax. You can fish on the side where there is a boat dock or walk a little way and fish closer to the channel. Types of fish were perch type fish, ribbon fish, flounder and croakers. A lot of great wild life to see as well. It seemed to be slow during the week for people fishing but it picked up on the weekend. Great parking,Dogs allowed but must be on a leash. The only negative were the boat s speeding through the channel as they go to dock, very annoying.

We visited this beach on a weekday and it was lovely! There were very few people, the shoreline was clean and quiet. It was low tide so we were able to wade out a ways to really immerse ourselves. The driving areas were very well packed with few holes or debris and not too many places with loose sand. There are rice stations as well as port-o-potties to offer privacy for changing or using the restroom. During the week is the best time for families to go, as during the weekend the crowds tend to be younger and more...lively.
