First time there, last Saturday with a group. Door guy was cool and made us feel welcomed. Bars were a little crowded and not easy to grab a drink. Bartender we had was nice. Definitely will return

Wife and I went last night 1/5/24. Bartenders and all staff were amazing. Great music and huge dance floor. Patrons were exceptionally welcoming! Nice mix of cumbia and tejano music.

Its definitely not my environment, thats why 3 stars, more than half of the people were people over 60 years old, the music they play, well, its not my style, cover 5 dollars and theyll take you out at 2 am, I honestly would have given 1 star, but I saw that there were people who really enjoyed the site, thats why the 3 stars were rescued. Fun place to dance to various genres of Spanish music. There was a smaller sized crowd when I visited but it looks like it was going to get busier later in the night. There was a good variety of songs as well. We had beers while we there and it looked like the beer buckets were a popular choice.

idk who the dj was on sat 1-22-23 but this dude played the same style song over and over 15 songs in a row. The whole side to side 90s tejano gets old. Kept waiting for a cumbia, banda, huapango, durangese hell even a merengue song it never got there. We left early

My friend and I decided to go to Whiskey Río to check it out since we have never been there before. We had a couple beers before we went, but we were far from inebriated. When we got to the door there looked to be about three bouncers, waiting outside. As we were walking in the tallest of the group, stopped my friend and told us that he was too drunk to enter the club. He was so clearly not drunk it was ridiculous. I think this was a form of profiling, which really needs to be put into check. I will be making a formal complaint about this issue as we have done nothing wrong and we were not drunk nor causing any problems. When I questioned his decision, he got really angry and got into my face and threatened me physically. If this kind of behavior is condoned by the whiskey, Rios management, then I think this should be public knowledge.. if not, then there needs to be a retraining of the security staff at the establishment.

Such a great experience! I was worried about going there after reading all the negative reviews. But as soon as my boyfriend and I walked through the doors we were greeted with a warm welcome. The people and staff were really nice. Can t wait to go back!

My woman and I I had a great experience, the place was not to crowded and everyone was very welcoming. We were encouraged by those attending to go dance and enjoy ourselves. We did not encounter any rude individuals. I would definitely come back and recommend others come as well.

I was so happy to find a place with a large dance floor. The music was awesome, the bartender was very friendly and so were all the bouncers. I was worried it might be awkward because I didnt know the steps people were dancing to, but then I met some nice people and kept getting asked to dance. That was cool. I had a great time! Everyone was dressed so nice, which I loved bc I usually feel overdressed at some of the other bars I tried out! Being new to the area and having such a positive experience, I am definitely going to come back again. I hope I get better at dancing to tejano music.

I m new to Corpus and so glad I found this place! I had one of the best times of my life last weekend. We danced and chatted with so many other people there. The DJ and the bartender are definitely worth a visit I love it here!

The stuff is very nice and gently, 90%+ of the crowd is quite ugly, the DJ is amazing, he put a lot of different kind of music with just one regular mix, all the other mixes where perfect. Drinks are nice and non expensive. This is not the kind of place I used to go for dancing but it was quite fun.

I went to the pure last night 08/14/2021 and left out to put my lashes in the car not even for five minutes but my cousin couldn t go back in but I could because he said she couldn t. It was confusing because we just came out. He said he will call the cops and he did, during that process I m trying to record the interaction (previously was recording) the owner took my phone and throw it in someone s car and pushed me. Mind you I m a small female (5ft) and his bigger and taller than me. Cops took her away without any warning and I was stranded in an unfamiliar place. Even when I tried to talk to him to get understanding of what happened he refused to talk to me.( the same person saying I could go in) now saying I ll call the cops. On you and walked away. When I kept say sir I don t live here so I need to know what happened. No he didn t care. Anything could have happened. Beautiful place but the owner is very rude, mean, and inconsiderate. I understand there are people in the world (some females) who get rowdy at a club but this was not the case. Even now I m stuck in Texas corpus and I m from Louisiana.

I called to ask if there was a cover and I was told there was not. When I arrived to the club I showed my I.D and went through security. Shortly after I was aggressively tapped on the shoulder by security and told to pay the cover. First I was told theres no cover charge and now Im told there is a cover. Bartenders were rude. It was extremely crowded and the people in the club were unfriendly. As I was leaving people were fighting in the parking lot. Blood was shed, guy was put to sleep, cops showed up. First and last time going here.

A lesson learned, I will never do again. Ricky Naranjo y los Gamblers was playing (the only reason) for even going to that club. I showed up before 8 pm to get a table and had to buy a bottle to be able to get the table. That was the most expensive bottle I ever bought but I did knowing the music was worth it. Through out the night I noticed that no set ups or bottles were on the other tables. So i knew then that I had paid for at least 3-4 tables that night depending how they would divide the 150.00 i had spent for my bottle. Later on that night when the crowd was getting bigger and there was still tables to be reserved. Anyone walking in could just sit anywhere they damn well pleased without having to buy a bottle.

Worst bouncers Guy danced for several songs, came back to general seating, my cousin was sitting there, he said, hey thats my seat. He got up but was watching other family members dance on the floor by standing next to that guy and for that , for freaking that bouncers kicked him out. Together we were 16-20 people there and we all got out. They have nice bartender and nice DJ but they should teach bouncers how to behave to clients(customers). They lack common sense and business skills.

How can the owner of the club knowingly invite underaged patrons into the club,allow them to pay $20 a pop for being underaged and then throw them out for dress code violation?? Did you not see what they were wearing before you stole their money? Not only that but then refuse to refund their money and call them the Nword. This club is a joke. Looks like the owner(s) are only wanting high maintenance, up scale clientel. I saw people be kicked out for not wearingproper attire? Whats wrong with being well dressed and wearing brand sneakers or dressy sandles? As long as people are comfortable when dancing, and not worried about being kicked out, hey they will spend more and recommend the club. But noooooo dam security and owners would rather loose clients and $ then accommodate clients. Houston has better clubs that pack on weekends, even the rincky dink clubs are packed. Owners know how to treat customers.!!!

Thought it will be a nice place to go , but really did not like it much. But hey atleast they try! I got bothered when they questioned my husband about his nike shoes, i mean they could atleast warn us at the front door, not inside. Seems that they are interested more on the money than giving great customer service when it comes to people asking them questions and concerns. Club Rio experience....lets see...they let us in after paying the cover charge and we danced a few songs and wanted to go to the other bar, which we had been doing before all the younger crowd came in..and then tried to kick my husband out for wearing polo boots!!!! I thought it was a joke, but no the bouncer made it rudely clear that indeed it was not and was insisting that we leave. We talked to another bouncer and he allowed us back in...so I agree that the dress code is stupid, and they should not try to rip people off by letting them in when they pay a cover charge and then try to kick them out after they got their money for stupid reasons.

Fun place, nice atmosphere. Great idea to have two clubs under the same roof. One caters to the younger top 40 crowd, while the other plays more so country and other related music for the older crowd. I wish that there was more diversity, and no cover charge.

After spending a total of 140 for all of us to get in (after being told that our cover to get in would be coved and so would our VIP), we go up to the VIP area that we had received. We were sitting there for maybe half a song and a bouncer started fighting with the girl that booked the VIP area saying that we werent buying bottles we needed to leave. He told her that she was free to get in he doesnt need her business get out, then grabbed her buy her arm and started to pull her to the door. We all walked outside to talk to find out exactly what was going on. During this time we went up to talk to the owner and he said Ill talk to one of you the rest need to walk away, so we did and one person stayed to talk to him. While he was talking him, the owner started to get heated and told him he needed to leave and pushed him, the moment he pushed him cops started surrounding him not the owner, we looked back and two more cop cars pulled up with two undercovers. All he asked was hey we payed for a service that we didnt receive can we get our money back and that caused the owner to push him.

Do not go! Beware! This place was a complete joke. Spent 40 on a cab, got there and we were let in but the guy said next time dont wear tennis shoes to my guy friend. We got in, got drinks, 5 minutes later another bouncer said my friend couldnt be in there with his shoes and he had to leave. We tried telling them the door guy said he could come in, they called the cops on us. The cop that was at the door when we got in came in and told the guy the same thing we had told them! And they were like okay, but we were too pissed off so we just left. Stupid morons need to learn how to treat women and know that out of towners may not know the stupid dress code.
