Baker & Baker did an excellent job handling my mothers Medicaid application as well as probate issues after she passed away. They answered any and all questions that my brother and I had in a prompt and informative manner. I would recommend Baker & Baker to any one needs an attorney to represent them in the Medicaid application process as well as probate matters.

Will not go there again. At first I paid $295 for the consultation to give me advice on my mother s Medicaid app, since I had my brother s check deposited in her bank account. He gave me a short Medicaid form and told me to do the letter, explaining why the checks are going into the same account. He stated he would look at it afterwards and would charge me $175 for a half hour. I gave him $350 for a full hour. I scheduled another appointment when finished, but got a different response when I came in. They wanted $3500 in order to submit the app. I didn t want that. When I told them I couldn t afford that, Mr. Baker came in and told me that if I wasn t hiring them, he wasn t going to do anymore for me and Good Luck. I tried to show him the $350 receipt, but he didn t want to see it. $350 went out the door. Find another attorney.

Baker & Baker assisted my mother who is elderly, Medicaid recipient, has health issues and does not speak English. Chuck Baker was knowledgeable, very helpful, kind and patient, explaining the law and what she was signing. He provided examples to help her understand. Had nothing but problems with this firm in getting Medicaid approval for my husband. They took over 8 months to get my application submitted and when I would complain, they would tell me that I hadnt submitted the paperwork and I would provide the same information over and over again. After application was submitted, Medicaid closed out the application due to requested information not received in a timely manner. This cost me an additional $15,000.00+ because a new application had to be made. They are truly uncaring and dont accept responsibility for anything. I would not recommend this attorney to anyone

I learned of Baker & Baker through a presentation they gave at the Mirador recently on senior law, They explained the need for a will, a medical power of attorney and a financial power of attorney. I needed review of all 3 of these so I made an appointment with them and within a month, had new versions of all three. They were pleasant, easy to work with, carefully explaining each step of the way with me, and reasonably priced.

I dont even think there is a NEGATIVE 0 to rate these people. They took advantage of my father and had him sign forms that were NOT THOROUGHLY GONE over with him (dad). My father later told me yesterday that he didnt even know what it was that he was signing, It was like a hit and run job. Unfortunately, my sister was the one with dad and she did not pay attention OR it was convenient for her and her husband, Dad expressed that He did not sign any Declaration.... Talk about taking advantage of the elderly. very unprofessional and will Definitely be reporting the to the :State Bar of Texas. I do not want any apologies from Mr. or Mrs. Baker. You should be ashamed of yourselves for all the damage you have created.

TERRIBLE RECEPTIONIST !! Called to get info on elder law asset protection, estate planning, etc and no questions would be answered until I PAID $250.00 UP FRONT. Couldnt even tell me what the $250 got me except for a consultation. Couldnt commit to how long the consultation would be. Couldnt commit to an hourly rate for attorney to work on estate matters. HAD TO PAY $250 up front to discuss any further! Talk about ELDER ABUSE - WANT TO TAKE ELDER $ UP FRONT !!!!! NOT THE LAW FIRM YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH WHO ASKS FOR $ UP FRONT AND WONT DISCLOSE ANYTHING !!!!! LOST MY BUSINESS!!!!!!

I have used both husband and wife. They are scammers. My father had a will prepared by mrs baker and when the time came they said he had picked it up and days later I called back again and insisted they check their files and they found it in storage. I met with me baker on my mom to make sure we had things in order since she was diagnosed with dementia, since my sister showed up one week after mom was diagnosed , after 15 years of not talking to my mom to make sure that my sister could not take advantage of my mom and convince my mother to change things. Without meeting my mother he advised me to apply for guardianship and this caused a big family squabble and my sisters convinced my mother that I was trying to take away her rights and her home. Mr baker did not explain to me that this would take away her rights immediately. I thought down the road it would be what we needed when she was incapacitated. In turn my sister took my mother to a different attorney and they changed all her legal documents taking me off everything. The worst $5,000 mistake I ever made was to trust this man. So now my sister that has had nothing to do with my mom for over 15 years is POA and she does not know what my mother wanted. Now I must find another elder attorney I can trust to get things straightened out. My mother does not remember signing papers for my sister to have POA and any other legal documents. DO NOT TRUST THIS husband and wife duo. They are the most dishonest couple. Now I don t know what attorney I can trust.

Baker completely mishandled our sibling dispute, knowingly. Asked for a call back multiple times and never got one. They will charge you $25 for a 5 minute phone call. Baker is never there, but it doesn t really matter anyway as the legal assistant is probably equally as experienced, and that isn t saying much. I ll be filing a complaint with the Texas Bar Association for misrepresentation and eronious fees. BEWARE: DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

Mrs Baker and her staff were very knowledgeable about what I needed done and made sure I understood what it meant. She went thru other items to make sure my concerns after I pass will be how I want. I would recommend this firm to anyone who needs to plan the future after you are gone.

please dont use this dumb box of rocks think edwin baked should not even have a lic total neglected the issue with the state in an elder home sale put us through 90 days of stress charged 1050.00 for few phone calls had he known elder law all this could have avoided had to find out the law myself will see what the state bar thinks confronted e baker about this asked for refund and his reply he blamed the state and myself almost god this lod fellow is a ding bat u need to look else where will be happy to tell u the whole story

Read the reviews folks. Very poor and confused communication from this firm. Multiple people telling us different things. They even tried to charge us a second consultation fee after they failed to set up a phone conference as promised.

Very poor communication, we have left multiple voice mails trying to reach these people, they never called us back. We even went by their office to leave them paperwork and asked them to call us back, no response. Find another lawyer.

Poor Communications in terms of customer account closure. After our Mom passed away we insisted that Baker & Baker close the account with us in terms of a final invoice either by mail or email. Unfortunately, our Mom passed away sooner than expected and we were not able to proceed with the entire legal process. As grieving customers we felt that our experience with Baker & Baker was just another business transaction to them and without a sense of compassion. Our lessons learned shop around.
