This was my 2nd time coming here and the 1st was years ago. We sat waiting for a waitress and when no one came i flagged a lady down for water while we wait for the waitress and thats when we were told you order at the counter. Okay so then we ordered. Food came out fast and hot. I also didnt know that there is a choice soup OR eggroll. I must have missed that on the menu so I had to order additional eggrolls. Back to the food it was tasty nothing to write home about. But OMG the flies inside this place are horrible. I felt like I was sitting outdoors fighting for my food. They should try to manage the fly problem. If I do return it certainly wont be to dine in.

I m very sad to report this is my FIRST ever bad review. This restaurant was picked at random my parents had wanted to go there so figured why not give it a shot. Well sadly I was VERY DISAPPOINTED!! My parents are getting ready to order. Oh and just FYI there was a group of us. So of course everyone was going to order something to eat. Well my parents weren t even done ordering; while the waitress kept cutting my parents off and kept trying to rush them all while trying to finish ordering. The service was zero stars. The atmosphere was very off. Nothing about this place, I liked. I don t even want to give it one star; I want to give it zero stars. This is the first time I am sad to say. This place is a HUGE NO for me I give this place 2 thumbs down

Omg. So perfect. I know what taste good and how your preparation and taste has to be perfect. I cook for very finicky people. Dietary restrictions: Salt was done at a minimum which is good for Anyone who worries about high blood pressure. But taste wasnt sacrificed. Delicious. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Jaja is surprisingly quite large inside! A group of 10 went out for lunch here today, and we were shocked out how fast our food came out. We prepared for a longer lunch for how big our team is. We all ordered fairly quick and the food was out within less than 5-8 minutes depending on what each of us ordered. I only had wished I could have ordered a side of General Tso Chicken with my Lo Mein instead of ordering Chicken Lo Mein, but the Chicken Lo Mein was very tasty! Their fountain drinks are a bit pricy as well. I m not gonna lie, my stomach was very upset amongst many of our team after lunch and throughout the afternoon. We all got different items and there were many bathroom trips had. Yet, we d all still go again. Parking: If you can t find parking up front, park in the back and go through the back entrance!

Got the Lo Mien and steamed broccoli . Medium spicy is perfect and Sriracha on the side. Noodles are slighty the flat noodles vs circle but good change up and not too lumpy like some places. Well not sure what happen, I was on the business trip and saw the review and figured I try it, boy it s totally opposite and made my stomach upset! I told the lady up front and she was nice and offer me another replacement but I decline because I just lost interest in the place. I just order 3 things. 1 Hot & sour soup- it was not the best or good, just ok, strange they put cabbage in it? The only good was the fried noodle that came with the soup. 2 Egg roll well it s not handmade but frozen because when I got it, the inside was still warm/cold. 3 the Handmade dumping is what got my stomach sick. It was over excessive oily and under cook and the meat just tasted with lots of 5 spice flavor and it was disgusting. It came with 12 and I only ate 3. The price came out about $20. And I could have gone to a fast food and get better quality food! Well the review is good but my experience was terrible, won t be coming back for sure.

Best Authentic Chinese food in Corpus. I ordered tons of food for so cheap! Highly recommend the Eggplant! And the Egg Drop Soup! The Teriyaki Tofu is Legendary! It will blow you away! Food was prepared quick and the order was huge but accurately made. Every dish was heavenly!

I have not been to the restaurant. I get delivery, and I have gotten food from there 4 times. I have gotten combination Lomein with egg rolls 2 times, and I have gotten combination fried rice and egg rolls 2 times. They were all delivered by Door Dash, and the food was like it had just been taken off of the stove. The packaging was 2nd to none. They were harder plastic containers with lids, and the food was piping hot. I would definitely give them a try.

I have ordered delivery before, but tonight was the first time going in. Everyone was very friendly and attentive, even though they were clearly busy with tons of delivery orders. They definitely have a good rhythm with taking care of all orders. We were able to look at the menu while we were seated and then go up to the counter to order. Our orders were out very quickly. I had the sesame chicken, and my husband tried the Mongolian beef. They were both great! Neither one of us was able to finish the entire meal, but on top of having to go boxes and everything available for us to grab; we were also brought some fortune cookies and boxes at the best possible time. The atmosphere, food, prices and friendly staff are all wonderful. Well definitely be back! Especially to try some of the authentic Chinese dishes.

JaJa Cafe offers great traditional Chinese cuisine in the Corpus Christi area. Food is hot, fresh and prepared well. Top dishes range from Stir Fried Rice, Twin Pepper Beef, and Sweet n Sour Chicken. The lunch crowd is substantially larger than the dinner crowd, so look to have a small wait for a table. Their dining room has limited seating because of its building size, several quests opt for Take Out most times. Parking is very limited with three spaces in the front of the building and a small lot in the back with about nine extra spaces available. I ve been coming to Corpus Christi for work regularly for the last few years and this place is always on my list of stops to make. The food is delicious and the quality never deviates. Their Twin Pepper Beef is one of the best Chinese dishes I ve ever had. The owner has been there every time I ve visited and she always takes time to chat up the customers and make sure everything is on point. You order at the counter and the layout is utilitarian, but the food and the people are what make restaurants shine for me, and this one sparkles in those categories.

JaJa Cafe is unassuming from the outside, and the parking situation is absolutely one of the worst designs in history: a dead-end, narrow lot in the back with a blind turn, and if there is no spot available, youll have to back out carefully while other fun-seekers are trying to drive in, only to wish they had learned from you there is no space. This really has got to be a cruel joke. How can it get worse? Food delivery drivers double parking in the back to run in for orders, making a tight spot an even bigger mess. This lot should be condemned by city planning & zoning. Dont even try to park back there - borrow a spot from next door if you must. Now once you get inside, this is a fun & lively venue full of hip people making some really delicious Asian dishes. The portions are large, and prices are inexpensive. You will leave totally full or with a big to-go box. Yes its great. But do I want to go back and fight that parking? Ill get back to you on that one.

It s ok. It s really not any better than places that charge less. If you ve ever had good cheap, American style Chinese, this is pretty subpar. Texture on all the food was over cooked and mushy. Everything has a slightly bitter taste and I m not sure if it s because of the velveted meat that wasn t rinsed. I would caution against the wonton soup. The meat is very questionable.

Were from Rio Grande City, came to Corpus for a parent conference. We were looking for some oriental cuisine and came across this place. Let me tell you, it didnt disappoint. As soon as we walked in, we felt very welcomed. The hospitality was great, it took us longer to decide on what to eat than it did to get our food. Restrooms were very clean. When we were ready to leave it was raining and the owner grabbed her umbrella and walked some of us to our vehicle. We went for lunch today. We haven t been here in a while and my wife and I ordered our own things. I got the Terriaki Chicken and the hot and sour soup. It was a large portion and we both have enough for another meal each. I think we ll split something next time. The food was very good and came to the table hot. The service was quick and the people came by frequently to check on us. The parking lot is small so if you go at peak hours you may have a problem parking. We went for a late lunch, about 1:30 and we had no problem. Parking: Parking can be tough during peak hours.

This is one of the best Chinese food places Ive had the pleasure of eating at. Little on the spendy side but huge portions. Family of 6 ate here but dropped $120 on five regular dinners and a kids meal. Two appetizers and six drinks. The food was pretty damn good tho! Parking: Small parking lot!

I read about the good reviews about this place and I wanted to give this place a try, I was disappointed with the food. Sesame chicken lacked alot of flavor, it wasnt crispy enough and the steam rice was soggy. We also ordered combo fried rice and it tasted soggy and the chicken I didnt like it tasted like boiled chicken thighs so it made the rice tasted like soggy arroz con pollo. The staff were nice was dissapointed in the food. Hunan express makes better sesame chicken. Was dissapointed and felt like a waste of money.

Gave this place two chances. As soon as I entered, the whole shop had a particularly bad smell, there were flies in the dining room and the hygiene was worrying. The waiter gave him an empty glass and he didnt know if he needed ice water. At first, I ordered a stir-fried beef that the waiter brought to me without flavor, but on the other side, the food was difficult to swallow without spices, and I ordered a hot and sour soup that tasted strange. I noticed a fly flew into my plate and I couldnt eat it anymore. Check out and dont come back!

I used to frequent JaJa on a regular basis. However, as of late the food and service have been subpar at best. My Hunan Chicken was too spicy. I returned the following day for a replacement. The owner thought the rice I was given the previous day was sufficient. She never took into account the inconvenience of it all.

We come here often, but today the owner saw us walk in and she gave my son a big hug. She is always so sweet to him. But the food was so amazing as usual. My wife s beef and broccoli was so tender and melted in your mouth. And as usual the curry chicken soup was as amazing as ever. It has been about a month and a half since our last visit. I was so happy to make the 45 minute drive from my house.

This was my first time going in. Its definitely different. You arent waited on to take your order. You go to the counter,order and pay. Then they bring you your food when its ready. Everything else is self service. Your drinks and to go boxes.

The combination lo mein was very good! It was a little too spicy but that was completely my fault so just be careful when picking your spice level. I had seen a review that said their egg rolls were good and I absolutely agree. They were fantastic! The amount of food for the price was great and they were fast! I would highly recommend this spot if youre in the mood for Chinese food.

We got the string beans and beef and the boiled spicy fish. The food is good, but I only have it 3 stars because for the price of the food it is not very fresh. They heat your fried rice in the microwave. The dumplings were just warm like they just heated them up and they came out almost instantly. The boiled spicy fish is good but the beef and green beans was alright.

We have only had takeout from here but everything we try has been delicious. Its turned into a goto spot for us when we just dont feel like cooking. Visited Corpus and wanted some good Chinese. Looked through many locations and came across this one due to high rating. Well? Ratings were right!! This place was absolutely amazing and delicious! I remember the food being tasty and good. But after what happened I will no longer purchase from this restaurant. I barely make reviews but this one I just had to make a review. I ve ordered through the online website order was going to be made and ready for pick up. When my husband showed up to pick up our order. He was told by the lady at register maybe she was the Owner, that she didn t have our order made due to a misunderstanding of our phone# on file from previously an order was not picked up. We had no idea of an order being placed from that time period. So due to that previous incident our order today was not made. As he explained to the lady at the register of a misunderstanding. She went ahead and had our order made. As we got our order. The food was not good as we felt it was done on purpose. The food didn t taste fresh, it had no flavor for the fried rice, the happy family meal made him sick after he ate it. The lo menu noodles tasted soggy and no flavor. The egg rolls and the egg drop soup were the only things to savor. I m very disappointed on this JaJa Cafe has went down hill. Especially on how they operate things like keeping numbers on file. What if a customer had a number change? Would y all still not make the food? That s not right. I m all about customer service due to my job. Mind you he has ordered before and his order was made with no issues.

A hole in the wall. Looks like most of their business is take-out orders. Got there a couple of minutes after prep time was supposed to be. Flavor was good. The mushu pork was excellent, the egg drop soup to die for and the vegetable fried rice was up to par. The beef orange was cold and no sauce, just a few pieces of meat with mild orange flavor and broccoli. Asked, and looks like paid for extra mushu pancakes and did not get, in spite of asking server if they were included. Please skip the spring rolls, soggy and little flavor. The crab Rangoon was good. Overall a bit disappointed but the flavor good enough to give it another try.

The food was average, but I think my party walked in at a chaotic time. When we ordered, Im guessing the older Asian lady who owns the place was very rude. When I tried to pay she never told me how much my total was, and looked shocked when I asked for the total. I was also asked to give my phone number (which I thought was needed to alert me when my food was ready) When I tried to pick up my order (maybe 10-15 mins later) - without getting a notification that it was ready, the same older Asian lady yelled at me asking to see my receipt in front of other customers. Im sure her staff know how chaotic it is, if thats how you treat your customers Im sure its no different than the staff. Food is average, but I wouldnt want to be accused of stealing another persons meal.
