We had to move from the dining room to the bar in order to enjoy happy hour but the bartender, Emily, was great! We had jalapeno shrimp poppers and they were ok but not as good as the sports-bar down the street. However, we ordered salads and the Indian taco and all of that was delicious! It really felt like a locals hang-out and we loved the vibe.

We had a party of 6 and all of our dishes tasted odd, if not just bad, and unseasoned. The salsa was flavorless, there was a bone in the fish, and my friends burger was inedible. Definitely not worth it for us. Service was fine.

Chile stew tasted old, as if was refrigerated in a metal pot, spinach dip had way too much mayo, the fish and chips tasted like old grease, the burger patty was salty, the pan fried fish, fries, and chips all were greasy. Waitress was nice. Hostess was delayed. Paid for the food because its a small business. Ended up a docs. Visited 9/7 at 645pm.

At the age of 49, I ve never been served bad oysters, so I suppose I was due. They were not even near cold. Rubbery like they would bounce off the floor. I m sure they were sitting out for an extremely long time. The rest was OK but i wouldn t return to an established where someone thinks it s OK to serve food that can put someone in the hospital.

Dont order the Reuben!! Had some kind of cubed mystery meat in it and the meat in my wifes was a completely different color than mine. Meat texture was a fatty weird.. like it was from the bottom of the bucket. Definitely was grossed out and i am pretty easy to please.

First off I ll start by saying we loved the outdoor decor and all the beautiful different palms. The marlins inside were a nice touch as well as the aquarium with two lionfish swimming around. So naturally I expected the food to be good as well .it wasn t. We aren t picky eaters at all but everything we ordered either tasted funny or just wasn t good at all. Started with onion rings and calamari. Both were ok. Next my daughter had the Alfredo that tasted funny. She, my wife & I all tried it and said the same. Next my wife and I both had the fish and chips-her having the cod and me the mahi mahi. Terrible to say the least. I also had the $7 side of southern style shrimp which was only 3 pieces by the way the batter was probably the best part. Shrimp tasted old and bland. Same with both the cod and mahi mahi. Our server was excellent though. For $120 we expected way better food. We were very disappointed. Would not eat there again.

I had the special of the day which was blackened red snapper with cajun cream sauce and dirty rice. It was delicious. The dirty rice alone is a full meal, Id go back again just for that. I didnt care for the peach cobbler but only because it wasnt exactly cobbler but a open-face peach pie. It was alright but I wanted the yummy crumbly cobbler which it wasnt.

We came here very hopeful as it was recommended to us, however we were very disappointed. We got the chips and salsa as an appetizer and the salsa was very very sweet for some reason. Also all our entrees were super disappointing the food was absolutely tasteless, we got the fish nd chips and the pork absolutely no flavor had to salt out way through it. The mashed potatoes came out absolutely dry very disappointing experience

We should have read the reviews before going. My wife wanted the shrimp skewers without the rice. The waitress advised they could do that. Turns out it was one skewer of 6 overcooked shrimp. Charged us $21 for that. I ordered 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell. These were the smallest oyster Ive seen and they also cost $21. The place was overcrowded and very noisy. Service was extremely slow.

The Angry Marlin is a fun little place close to the beach where you can get some good seafood or a juicy burger and an ice-cold beer or a cocktail after spending a day on the beach. They even have outside seating, but during the oven that is a Texas Summer, you may want to avoid that. I went planning on getting seafood, but got distracted by their New Mexico Fusion selections (one of the owners is from New Mexico), so I ended up ordering the Pueblo Indian Taco and that was a good choice. The fry bread is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and not greasy at all. The pork is well-seasoned and tender, adding a nice richness. But the key to this is the red and green chili sauces. I got both, and this place does a good job with those staple New Mexico sauces. They have a little heat, but nothing that will set your mouth on fire, and I absolutely loved this dish. We will definitely return to The Angry Marlin next time we stay in North Padre, and as tempting as their seafood is (my wife got the grilled shrimp and loved it), I will probably try the other New Mexico selections.

We had dinner here one night while on vacation and happened to have met the owner while we were there. Turns out he is from our hometown. Burque Food here is delicious with a NM flair to it. I wish I had better things to say about this spot. We were hopeful going here. Our waitress was great. The food was disappointing. We ordered a Shrimp Cocktail, which we were warned was not the regular shrimp cocktail by our waitress. It came on a silver dish with lettuce, which was not a problem. The shrimp being room temp as is it was sitting out all night was the problem. We ordered coconut shrimp and the special that night, the black ahi tuna. The coconut shrimp was overcooked. What was supposed to be a black ahi tuna came out crusted in sesame seed and not blacked. Come to find out the special and not been changed and was supposed to be sesame crusted tuna. That was the least of the problems with the tuna. We were told it was going to be a minute on the grill. It came out almost room temp. It had barely been grilled and the center was almost still cold...not sure how that happens. I am not usually one to shy people away from places, give everything a chance, but based on other reviews and overhearing the other one couple that was there complaining, I would avoid this place. Hopefully it changes for the better.

We ordered a artichoke dip that came out absolutely vile. It was basically a bowl of mayo and maybe cream cheese with a few chunks of artichoke in it and some hard cheese melted on the top. The French bread slices we got to dip in it were bread sticks cut thin and burned black. I have ordered artichoke dip from several places in the past and even grocery store bought was better. We canceled our other food and left. They were still happy to let me pay the $20 for 2 drinks and the bowl of putrid mayo they served us though. I hope the rest of the menu isnt this bad, but I wasnt willing to give them that chance. Its absolutely disrespectful to serve something like that people. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Im betting this place is only on business to sucker the few out-of-towners visiting the beach out of their money. Shameful.

First and last time stopping by. The restaurant has nice friendly staff and a fun aesthetic. My fiancé and I ordered the artichoke dip with French bread and had to leave because we were concerned our dinner would be just as bad too. The dip was very sour and tasted strongly of just mayonnaise, and the bread was very burnt. Extremely disappointing.

We came to dinner tonight 3/21/2024 leaving now at 8:29. THERE WAS A HAIR in my husband s cheeseburger. Ricky, the manager refused to take it off our ticket because majority of the burger was eaten ! That is false. Two bites were taken. The waitress was super nice and offered to pay for it herself. I hope this gets to the owner & not just Ricky the manager. But if he reads this, you are awful. Your customer service is laughable. The fact that a $15 burger has cost you a repeat customer is wild. You could not even come to our table to apologize or take ownership or accountability. We ve never been to this place before but it was close to our house for the week. Safe to say we will never go back.

STAY AWAY! I never leave reviews but this restaurant deserved one. Me and my sister ordered the kids chicken strips and it had a slimy coating between the chicken and coating, plus smelled like fishy-sour sewer water. If I took one more bite I would ve vomed. The fries were also nothing to brag about, it tasted like great value wingstop fries. The atmosphere relied on one lonely fish in a tiny little aquarium. Our waitress grace was very nice and took the strips off our bill and agreed with our complaint, but when she took it back to the chef he disagreed about the smell strange .

Went to an early dinner here 12/1/23. Ordered the Southern Shrimp Dinner. The shrimp was buried in a very thick batter. I couldn t tell there was shrimp in the breading because there was so much of it. I took a bite and the tails were still on the shrimp! I took the breading off the shrimp and discovered that there were 2 shrimp in each breading covered piece. All with the tails still on and unable to see them until I took them apart. I asked that the fries be made crispy because I don t like them limp and soggy. That didn t happen. The long and short of it is that I spent over $20 bucks on a shrimp dinner that was terrible.

The food was delicious. I had Fried Fish (Mahi Mahi), and fries. A man was outside playing music, so the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The only thing that I did not like was the mosquitoes. I forgot that when I lived in Corpus Christi, that the mosquitoes were bad. Next time I will use mosquito spray before I go.

Refused to serve my family, despite the entire place being nearly empty. We offered to be served as separate parties/tables since we were a larger group, and they flat out said no and wouldn t elaborate on why, despite initially being welcomed by a waitress who was willing to seat us until the manager decided we were not welcomed there. We came with the hopes of celebrating my mother s birthday. Upon arrival, the waitress was happy to serve us, until her manager instructed her not to serve us. We offered to be seated as separate tables/parties since we were a group of 19, but the manager refused any and all service to us. Mind you the place was empty, only 2 tables occupied. The manager had horrible customer service and they must of not had enough for ready in time or maybe not wanted to cook , Lazy establishment. The service was the only thing worth any stars. The ladies are very polite and friendly. However, the food lacks flavor. I had the flounder, which Im pretty convinced was talipia or swai, with seasoned rice and fries. The fries were fairly decent but the seasoned rice lied. It was like eating plain rice. For the fish, seasoning was also disregarded during preparation leaving the fillet very bland. Enjoyed the waiter experience but just cant recommend for the food.

Please believe the other low-rated reviews of this restaurant and maybe skip dining here. I don t like leaving bad reviews, but my husband and I showed up here very hungry and waited 20+ minutes to even be noticed by a waitress in such a small room. She said she would find out who our waitress was supposed to be, and we wished we d kept her because our actual waitress was inattentive and all over the place. We then waited an hour for our food, and at about the 45-minute mark we seriously considered leaving. The table behind us waited about 40 minutes to even get drinks, and the fish tank we were sat in front of smelled bad (not something you want to experience when you re trying to enjoy a meal). The food we ordered was not bad but it wasn t worth the almost hour and a half wait to get it and we are sadly unhappy with the money spent here. Before we left, we overheard another waitress telling a family with small children that they were understaffed and behind in the kitchen, and the family appreciated hearing this and ended up leaving. My husband and I are usually very understanding people and would have really appreciated hearing this, also. Communication is key and was just severely lacking.

If I could give no stars I would. Server dropped a full glass of iced tea on my lap. Ordered a cheeseburger medium rare....came well done without the cheese. I HATE saying negative things about a place when the people working there are so lovely! We arrived at a time when several other parties had been sat so I completely understand why the service side was lacking. They were struggling to keep up with everyone which is absolutely understandable, and they did so with smiles on their faces. The food, well, I AM SO SORRY, but it was not even close to eatable. The bacon wrapped poppers had something I cant even begin to describe what bacon should look, smell, feel, or taste like wrapped around them. It was a grey color, hard, and by the looks of it, older than I bare to guess. The cream cheese that oozed out was pure grease mixed with a white substance. The shrimp old and hard. I ordered a watermelon margarita, and there was nothing in the drink that even resembled a flavor, much less one of fruit. The entree was a chicken ceasar salad. The salad was wilted, smelled odd, and again the chicken was very obviously old and reheated. The servers and staff were extremely pleasant and so apologetic about every situation. Unfortunately, I would never ever return for a meal; however, I absolutely would come back to sit at the bar and drink bottled beer because, again, the staff is genuinely friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Just dont come hungry.

Shrimp jalapeno poppers were undercooked with the shrimp completely raw. Sent them back to the kitchen, and staff was kind enough to remove them from the order. Due to getting a mouthful of raw shrimp, my appetite was gone. Asked them to make the rest of the order (ribeye cooked rare) to-go. When I finally got the ambition to eat again I microwaved the leftovers. After 4 minutes in the microwave the steak was FINALLY cooked to rare as it was only cooked to blue previously. It was exceptionally tough and loaded with pepper. I ended up throwing every last bit of my $50 meal in the trash. Staff is friendly, but the cooks need more experience.

I love this place! It was my first time going, the food was amazing! I got the coconut shrimp, and it was delicious, I recently got food poisoning from a buffets shrimp, but I figured I would try theres BEST DECISION IVE EVER MADE!! And even as I was stuffed by the flavorful shrimp, I had to get the peach cobbler, and though it was boiling hot, the ice cream paired so well with it! And to top all of it off, the service was great! We had an amazing server, Susan, who was just a joy and very lively. I couldnt have asked for anyone better! Absolutely would recommend it to anyone!

The service was terrible, mostly because the only one working was a bartender and she was more concerned with fire dancing than serving. Only topping that was the food. Overly greasy tasteless food. Mahi mahi fish was soggy as were the fries. Vegetables were overcooked. Coconut shrimp was quite nice. Chopped cabbage in vinegar water was sold as coleslaw. I thoroughly enjoyed the mahi mahi fish & chips, and ordered a side of coconut shrimp with a Pina colada dipping sauce. The coconut shrimp was bar-none the best Ive ever had. Surprisingly, the Pina colada sauce was a perfect combination. The fish & chips were firm and had great flavor. I was really impressed with the service. I showed up at 6pm on a Friday and seated immediately, drink order in less than 5 minutes, and my food arrived hot in less than 20 minutes. The outside is a wonderful Island village ambiance, with plenty of diverse and artful nooks to sit in, and very kid friendly. They have a cozy indoor bar as well as a comfortable outside bar. If youre looking for great food, excellent service, and a place to enjoy yourself, you cant go wrong here.

First off they were understaffed and they did mention this ahead of time. That being said our server did do his best so I cannot say anything was his fault. Tried ordering 1 thing, they were out, ordered a 2nd thing, they were out. So 3rd try and I felt like I won lol The food took a while, but again understaffed. When food came it looked good, but upon tasting it was over seasoned fish and way too spicy. As for the drinks, thought Id keep it simple and ordered a Mai Thai, well it wasnt exactly a Mai Thai and just liquor in a glass. This was the absolute worst seafood establishment I ve ever been too and we ve been to a lot thru out the country. My wife s fish tasted like it was frozen then heated up and my sea bass was the size of a little perch. They have a pond on the patio that s covered in mildew and stunk so bad we had to come inside and the manager thought it was funny that it smelled. Please please never go here.
