I use to love this place. I went in at 10:15 this morning for breakfast, and there only 2 tables with customers. I waited over 15 minutes before anyone ever noticed me. They were all playing around in the kitchen.

If you want to find quality traditional American food in Corpus Christi, you need to come to this nice country vibe restaurant. Despite the large amount of people, we were attended fast, and our order did not take long. We came for breakfast and we got the country fried steak and the Healthy Start. I think it is great that they thought about the people that want less calories but still enjoy a meal full of flavor. Good portion size at a fair price. Our waiter was extremely nice and understanding. I liked that the owner or manager was very attentive helping out the staff and talking to customers. My boyfriend thinks the steak would have been a little better if it was softer and they forgot the avocado from my plate ( I forgot too), however those details were minor compared to the freshness, flavor and quality we received in our food and the excellent customer service.

Unfortunately, today was not a good day at Chops and Eggs. Really disappointed in the service. Our server was very rude and disrespectful towards us and very sarcastic. First, he didn t explain to us that the hashbrowns were going to be potatoes. Secondly, we asked him for a plate, instead he gave us a skillet, and told us they were out of plates. That was a lie because another server (a woman) came right behind him and gave us a plate. The final straw was in our server threw the plate at us. We were extremely upset when he did this. He then grabbed the plate and threw it in the corner of the room. We asked to see speak to the manger. Our server who threw the plate just continued to work at the bar. He never delivered our food or even refilled our drinks. A different server who was very kind took care of us and got the manager for us. We ended up tipping her(the server). We explained to the manager how rude our server was and how he threw a plate us. We ve been coming to Chops and Eggs since its original location and we had never had a serve who was so rude. Management heard us out and confirmed on the security that the server indeed threw a plate at us. I could hear management talking to the sever who threw the plate behind the bar. Later, as we were leaving he told us he punished our old server. I don t know what the punishment was, but I hope the server will think twice about doing something like that again. Update: We ll never come back here again. My husband called to talk to management about what happened and they denied about what happened. They said Our servers are kind and polite. That s not true. Management originally said that the server would be punished, but I guess all of that was a lie. Really disappointed. Lying and covering up. I ll never eat there again. Update #2: We gave our tip(in cash)to the server Valerie. We checked our bank statements and they added 5.00 to each of our receipts(two different tickets). We paid our tips in cash and they went on and committed fraud. We did talk to the manager Mike and he did give us our money back in cash. He said it was a mistake and they didn t mean to add a 5.00 tip to the tickets when he had paid the tip in cash. I do not believe him. We told Mike that we will not ever come back. We ve always loved this place. We ve come here for anniversaries, birthdays, and family gatherings. We continued to support them especially with what they did for the community during COVID. What happened Sunday showed me their true colors.

The food was 10/10. Staff was friendly and kind. Prices are reasonable for food and service. There is plenty of seating and we had minimal wait time on a Saturday. Carb hash was phenomenal. We had a table of 5. 2 adults and 3 kids with coffee milk and food. Total $52 before tip. This is a perfect spot for brunch. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu if you ask for it.

Always love my meals here! Freshly made, better than chain restaurants for sure. I am happy to say that both breakfast offerings and lunch/dinner offerings are both of quality. Many places will add a lot of unneeded clutter to menus that drag them down, but Chops and Eggs from everything Ive ordered over my visits seems to have a good handle on their kitchen. My only complaints is service is usually excellent but theres a 40% chance particularly in the mornings that staff may be a little less friendly, slow, or generally not as great as the food. I will give this an absolute pass as Im sure everyone has off days and the foods quality is never impaired by this. The other complaint is a bit of the interior, particularly the booths. The booths are very uncomfortable, purely wood with notched tables that are uneven with the chairs. Again, this is a very very minor detail but I recommend sitting at the regular tables for optimal dining experience.

Well I had a big order, I ordered one waffle, I ordered one pancake, I ordered one French toast, I ordered something called crab cake hash and I ordered a hot corned beef special!! The pancake was okay. The waffle gets straight 10s across the board!! the French toast. I wouldnt tell anybody to order anything but the waffle The crab cake I havent tried that yet. Im going to try that later on. The Reuben I havent tried that yet but the meat looks burnt so I dont think Im going to eat that cuz Im not going to eat that French toast. I made them make another one and it still looks disgusting like its not cooked all the way through and they didnt sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on both sides. Its just careless presentation. Far as the customer service it was one young lady in there I have to go back and check her name She was great!! She talked to me the whole time I was there waiting for my food. I forget the guy that came to talk to me name but I guess he somebody that own it. He walked me out to my car only cuz he wanted me to leave a good review. I told him I was going to be leaving an honest review. So there you have it Chop and Egg. If you care to go there order the waffles. Thats the only thing I would suggest anybody to order. They were delicious.

Food was amazing and waitress was very attentive, bubbly, and personable. Rating this restaurant a 2 because I found 2 hairs in my food- in 2 different dishes. The waitress was very apologetic but resulted in our stomachs turning and not being able to finish. We could tell the waitress was trying to make it right and visibly saw her interacting with the manager - which he seemed super hesitant from the distance. We got a whole $3 off our breakfast. He proceeds to walk over and tell us trust me our staff is clean and they all wear hair nets . That comment was insignificant and didn t make anything right in the end - justifying hairs in our food . No thanks.

Absolutely phenomenal all around. My wife and I stopped in on a whim because we are unfamiliar with the area and couldnt be more pleased. We both got farmers plates although we might have gotten away with sharing one, the portion sizes were great especially for the price. Every element of the food was great, dont be scared of the lamb bacon just because you havent heard of it before. We tried it and it was super tender and tasted like a bit like gyro meat. We also got a side of the crab cakes which are an absolute MUST TRY. You cant walk away from here without them, they are delicious. Magie helped us and she did wonderfully. They also had a lot of great options for my wife who is diabetic. Thank you for a great end to our holiday, we will return when we come back to the beach! Absolutely delicious. Everything my wife and I ordered was outstandingly tasty. The only drawback, the reason for the loss of the star, is that my steak, ordered medium, was thrise done. It was thoroughly brown-grey through and through as well as pounded thin. It still tasted great, but it had the tough, letherly texture an overdone steak has.

I have been here a couple times before today & my opinion on it was moderately optimistic. I can look past the unfinished walls & benches, all made from hardie board, and the fact that there are so many chairs & tables in one space, you literally have to side step around people & there purses. What I cannot get past is the fact that during breakfast, there were multiple flies landing on tables, peoples drinks & food. I saw guests who had been seated at tables get up & leave...which i should have done also. Our waitress handed us our drinks as she grasped them from the top-big NO NO. As I was walking out, I stepped over one of those baby german roaches crawling across the floor. The parking lot is atrocious & I literally had to make a 24-point turn to get out. Im never going back. Food is good, but not worth the anxiety. Parking: There is no outlet to the West side of entrance, so if you park right in front, make sure theres a space. Backing in would be recommended also.

Weve been here a few times but our most recent experience about a month ago was really off putting. Due to the numerous good experiences weve had Im leaving the overall rating at 4 stars. However this last time: It was packed as usual so we actually ended up sitting at the bar for the first time. There was only two seats left on the end. Halfway in front of the last seat was a huge stack of napkins that apparently was the stack the wait staff grab from for their tables so almost the entire time (someone finally moved over the things on the bar so the stack could be moved near the end of our meal), I had wait staff in my personal space grabbing napkins. The food was slow to come out and we found out later that due to scheduling issues, only one of the kitchens was open and putting out food. Somehow my French Toast had been undercooked, probably from being behind and rushing the food out, so we sent it back and it came back out no problem. The other major thing that bothered me was that most of the wait staff had these insane attitudes. (not our bartender though). I understand it was busy and thats stressful as hell sometimes but yelling at each other about being in the way and straight up yelling at your manager (Im assuming it was the manager) right next to the bar guests is crazy to me. I worked in the restaurant business for over 5 years and the blatant unprofessionalism from the waitresses was mind blowing and really made us uncomfortable. However, as always, the potatoes were the best part lol the potatoes are the whole reason I always come back.

Overall: food is yummy and service is great. The restaurant is the ugliest restaurant I ve ever been to. But it was full though so that says something. Ambiance: It really deserves no stars. My bf and I literally sat at the bar so we didn t have to look at the restaurant. I don t understand who thought it was a good idea to put a picture of Anthony bourdain, a rocket ship, and modern farmhouse signs all next to each other. Also who thought it was a good idea to put a gold and silver metal wall next to brick next to regular wall next to granite next to fake marble. I don t expect restaurants to have amazing interiors but ??? Pick a central theme at least?? It s giving Ross clearance reject pile. Service: our server was George at the bar. He was very kind and professional and attentive to all our needs. Food and drinks came out quickly. Food: portions are massive especially for the price. Each meal is like 2 meals. Both were very good. I really liked the sauce on the fried chicken Benedict and the pancakes. I would say that the lettuce and tomatoes on the Benedict are unnecessary because they get soggy from being in between the hot chicken and mashed potatoes. Next time I ll ask for more sauce on the chicken. I appreciate that the hashbrowns were crispy and well seasoned. Chicken Benedict reminds me of the one from hash house a go go. Drinks: since we sat at the bar, we got to see the drinks being made. Sangria was made with a ton of flavored syrups which was questionable. This place only serves wine and beer. I asked for an aperol spritz which they did not have. I ended up getting a classic mimosa which was as good as expected. I ll probably come back again because the food was good but sit at the bar again or get to go.

Received food under cooked. Scrambled eggs were runny. Was supposed to come with three meats only received a tiny piece of ham and one bacon. I used to like this place but it is not what it used to be. Poor quality food and service and portions I received were extremely small. I recommend to stay away from this place. Vibes were more like I was in a bar than a restaurant because of the loud music and the long bar and the front doors you literally had to close them yourself awkwardly. Waiter was good and efficient even let me grandmother sample the pickled onions before ordering her dish. Had been wanting to try this place for awhile. Catchy name and the reviews were somewhat good. Was highly disappointed when I went. I took my elderly mother in the evening and ordered her a steak and I had the pork chop. They brought mine out first and it was luke warm. I still ate it but the pork chop had hardly any flavor to it. The asparagus and mash potatoes were ok. Asparagus much better than the chunky mash potatoes. The 10 ounce sirloin it was horrible we asked for it medium rare and was it medium well, but it was super dried out as if it had been sitting for awhile after cooked. The seasoning and flavoring was not tasty they give you a pound of potato wedges in the side. I was disgusted for my poor mother. When I visit her from out of town I usually take her to Nolan s or u&i but Nolan s is closed on Sundays. Will never go to this place again.

We just had breakfast here today and arrived at 8:10 AM, ordered our food, got it and ate it. By 9:20 my friend and I were done eating and had pay the bill when the manager showed up and asked if we were going to be here longer, since weve been here for an hour and the waitress needed the table because he only had two tables on that side. So I said, you are telling us we have to leave abd she said yes. I thought that was super rude of her. Not coming back to this place again ever again.

We ve been vacationing in the area for about a week. This is the best service we ve received during our trip. The waitress was very hospitable and attentive. The food was delicious and came out quickly. They made my little kids feel special with a bonus sliced fruit skillet. We would recommend this place to friends and will be going back.

I like the rustic atmosphere. The food was really good. I don t eat pork so the fact that they had turkey bacon as option so that was a huge win for me. Everything was good. I would recommend this restaurant for breakfast to people.The cute little ketchup positive wording was a cute touch. Made us smile.

I ordered food through the website, and the order was missing some of the extras I had ordered. I called to request a refund just for the stuff that was missing and the manager said he couldnt do it because he didnt know how. And this isnt the first time theyve gotten our order wrong; we thought wed give them another chance, but I probably wont go back :/

My husband and I finally went and tried it. Everything was super tasty! Only downside is its so crowded with tables and chairs its hard to navigate with a baby carrier. If you do go with a baby carrier or stroller, request a table and not a booth, it will be an easier time. We got sat at a booth and barely had room to squeeze ourselves into the table, let alone hold a baby.

Finally got to try this place. It was DELICIOUS! I got the Chorizo hash and husband got the farmers combo. There was a hiccup in the kitchen with his pancakes and they took a while to come out, but it was totally fine because the server and a supervisor came over to communicate the issue and check in periodically. Ingredients were fresh and everything was cooked to perfection. Definitely worth the cost.

Nice place, pretty busy but worth the visit. We didnt have to wait more than 10 minutes for a seat, but the place was busy (this on a Saturday). The food was overall good. Maybe the chicken was a little dry, but the seasoning was on point. The portion size was on the big side, and my wife and I couldve easily shared one meal and dessert between us. The waiter did a good job and gave some good recommendations for us, and everyone ended up with what they chose. Would definitely eat there again, especially with the amount of food/taste vs. cost.

Was a good outing. Good parking a little out on the nicer side of town. Strong country theme. The food was really solid. I had the pork chops and eggs. The pork chop was the star or the dish obviously. The egg complimented the pork chops. The potatoes didnt push the eggs to side but added a good side. Very nice presentation on the dish. And with an orange slice as a palette cleanser. My fiance had a Nutella and banana waffle combo and she ate more than usual so thats a good sign. The waitress we had was very friendly and in a way that seemed very natural, and not forced like most places seem. If I could be more accurate 4.7/5 stars.

I have been to chops and eggs a few times now and they never disappoint!! Food is always on point. You can truly see the love for what they do on their plates. HIGHLY recommend over any chain breakfast spot. ALSO THEY DO DINNER TOO, don t sleep on this place. You will be truly missing out. Addison was so far the most friendly server we have had so far. Servers were on point. Sweet with smiles and helpful. The food was good with a great presentation. Bring a sweater though, place was freezing. They were setting up having a party of 30+ people.So it was very loud with moving of chairs and tables. Also the man having the party was very loud and rude to workers. My family got out of there quickly. Hopefully, next time, it will be a better visit.

We stopped here for some brunch before heading out home and the food was delicious! Our service was real friendly and brought out our food exactly as requested. Everything was fresh and tasty and the prices were really reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. We also ordered us a bottle for mimosas that went great with the food. Chops and Eggs gave me a variety of emotions. First and foremost...the service and atmosphere was top notch. Our server Jahvani was a true professional, ask for her. Second...the food needed some attention. I ordered the Fried Chicken Benny, the plating was over the top...too much for no reason. We Chefs have a golden rule...never put anything on the plate that isnt meant to be eaten or part of the dish. They put a whole sprig of Rosemary and multiple pieces of fried Angel Hair for garnishment. What a waste of Rosemary and pasta, am I supposed to peel Rosemary and throw it on my chicken then bite the fried pasta? Ridiculous. Whats worse is they layered my Benny with Scrambled Eggs, hot wilted lettuce and a hot tomato slice under the fried chicken. No one wants to eat a hot wilted piece of green leaf lettuce or a hot slice of tomato on a bed of hot mash potatoes. I couldnt taste my eggs because they were either covered with sauce or mash potatoes...I had to go looking for the Scrambled Eggs. Also the writing of I love in Sriracha on the plates rim...is played out...that was popular in the 90s as well as piling the plate and serving over sized portions. The good news is the chicken was hot, proper crispy and the sauce that was covering everything on the plate had a decent flavor but the amount poured on quite unnecessary. All in all I give it a 6/10, I cant get over the ridiculous garnishments and plating. -Chef Tommy-
