We went to this store looking for some Weiss Schwarz cards, and it really is an amazing store with a cozy atmosphere. This store has a wide variety of games, comics, graphic novels, collectibles, sports cards, figures, material to paint the figures, books, board games, and they even have an area for 3D printing. There is an upper floor where there are free tables to play and they have a board where upcoming events were announced. The staff was very friendly and they make you feel welcome. Its the kind of place where you walk in, and youre captivated by everything inside.

It was an amazing place everything was great they have a big selection of multiple game systems best of all everything I sal was decently priced and not marked up. My one and only complaint was it got a little too warm up top during the tournament while they had a draft going. granted it was a ton of people in one area. All in all amazing place will recommend if your on the north side

Drove an hour to this place as it was the closest to us for the retail release of Craniacs. We were bounced around from comics, to baseball cards, to gaming cards only for the last employee to tell us bad news . They had the cards in stock but would not sell them to us because the person who was responsible to price them had been out sick all week. They could care less how far we drove. THIS is why I shop online.

Great dual-level shop. Caters to myriad crowds of gamers and collectors alike. They dont even mind that my kids run around and play with the stuffies while I gawk at all the games, miniatures, ample accessory offerings, game aids, toys, books, and comics. Top tier experience for die-hards and casuals (like myself) from all genres and tastes. Excellent gaming area with raised bar-height tables, demo games, and what I would consider a very diverse community of events.

I and kids visit whenever we can. Its hard not to find something interesting there, even though Im not a comic book fan. Somehow, we find the place quite inspirational. My son gets regular issues of his JoJo story there and a bunch more, I bought a Turkish backgammon and a Danish Klask. Their upper floor is a D&D fest. Earned enough points to book a gaming room for a few hours. Not that we need it, but somehow the aura of the place is good.

Big shout out to the hobby shop inside of this store. This is 100% a biased review, however I stopped in here on Memorial Day to grab a hobby box of 2023 Topps Chrome Platinum and pulled this gem. In all seriousness though, it was my first time there. The shop was very organized, the staff was extremely helpful and nice, and the inventory they had was impressive. Even without the Volpe #/99 Auto I would have given this place 5 stars. They didnt mark up their boxes like some hobby shops do (some of them criminally high). All around an excellent little gem of a hobby shop hidden inside what looked to be a magic the gathering/Pokémon and board game store. If youre in the Conroe, TX area stop by and see what Im talking about. You wont be disappointed.

I went yesterday to The Adventure Begins and The Adventure Stadium for the first time. Honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had going into a store ever. The pic is not from the store, but I did buy these comics at the location. They have some awesome highly prized comics for sale that are more on the rare side and those that are signed. The staff is great to talk to, they are always friendly whenever I am in, ordering is very easy, and the vibe is warming. We recently moved to the area and this was my first trip to the store with my son. The store was very nice on the inside with plenty of cool things to look at. However, when it came to shopping comic books for an adopted eight year who comes from a family violence situation there is no clear cut kids section in this store. For the past few years we have been spoiled by Space Cadets which has a designated kids section with roughly twenty to twenty-five titles to choose from that are geared to his age. Unfortunately, at The Adventures Begins one of the comics he picked out was extremely violent with many of the pictures showing large amounts of blood. So if your a parent with young kids that are seeking comic books I would recommended Space Cadets designated kids sections that has good selection of age appropriate titles.

They seem to be stocking more RPG and involved, long games than anything else. It was also less organized than in the past. Hopefully that s all due to the holidays and sales. I wish they d move the play tables downstairs out and have cards all downstairs. They don t have much in the way of cards like Pokémon or Magic the Gathering, which is a real shame.

People here are very friendly and are very knowledgeable about alot of the products they sell here. They have a decent variety of miniature paints and sell most card games. They also have a large upstairs area with tables if your looking for a place to play. The local scene here for most of the games is very nice, and Ive yet to to encounter any issues with anyone.

The Adventure Begins is a great place to head to if you are in need of everything from playing cards for all types of table top games, to models for games such as Warhammer and many other types, plus they have comics and characters for sale from many type of Anime. This store is huge, it has a ton of different materials from books to cut outs, dice, decks of cards etc. It really is practically a one stop shop for anyone who enjoys table top gaming. In addition to selling all of the above listed items they have a second story to the building, in this area they have the area where all of the table top gaming and competition goes on, you can find both casual gaming and competitive gaming going on. Finally, they have a Forge this is a brilliant and a new concept where they have a 3d print shop, plus they can do buttons, badges, lamination, stickers, spines, the work and professionally paint your models for you. I was very impressed with how professional their employees are. Aside from being some of the nicest people you can meet, they are very knowledgable about anything to do with their particular art, wether it has to do with the tabletop gaming mechanics to 3d printing or running tournaments, they are top notch and extremely polite. This is a must place to visit, whether you are new to the tabletop genre or a lifetime professional, it is a great place to go. Just take look at all of the other reviews, images and information about The Adventure Begins, check them out for yourself, I am very positive you will find this to be a top notch table top/card game / anime character / model shop! While you are there, check out the Forge up stairs and see if it will fit your model creation needs. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!! There is a massive selection of ALL sports cards, pop culture cards, Marvel cards, TCG cards and a ton of memorabilia. Don t wanna risk opening packs, they have you covered. There is also a very nice selection of singles to choose from. If you are looking to send that hot card in for grading, they will handle your PSA submission for you. There is a significant loyalty rewards program and they give bounties on numbered cards that are opened in the store. The employees are very knowledgeable and will help guide you to exactly what you are looking for while always giving fair market value giving you the best bang for your buck. There are comfortable couches, break tables and TVs always playing sports. It is definitely a comfortable place to spend time networking and meeting other people in the hobby. I ve enjoyed hunting for comics here. Even new stock is bagged and boarded, and the bargain boxes have good stuff ( including rarer variants.) Lots to explore. Staff have been very helpful and nice. I might be slightly biased because I live fairly close, but Adventure Begins is always filled with the nicest, most knowledgeable staff that you could ask for in a card and game shop! They also do a lot for the community which is an absolutely awesome addition! They have frequent sales and discount opportunities, host games and game tournaments, and will even mentor those wanting to learn. Was super happy to have one open up close to the house, as I am a regular at the one by my office in Houston. I like to crack a lot of packs and I don t just go in and out. I like to go in and rip packs for a while. Hang out and enjoy my time. The staff is, for the most part, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, they do not put prices on almost anything in the shop. This is the predominant reason I m not more of a regular. You have to ask over and over and over again to look up pricing. Also, the shop in general is very out of touch with current pricing trends and market values of almost all the unopened products in their shop. Way over half the time they look up a price in their system it is WAY too high, and even sometimes way too low. I certainly don t mind paying a few percent premium to fuel my hobby at a brick and mortar establishment. But $50-100 a box or more is just out of the question. This pricing disparity is the prime reason I have to ask for each individual price every time I even want to consider buying something. If their pricing was up to date and I felt like I could rely on it being a remotely fair price the majority of the time, I would feel much more confident. I also wish it was easier to just go in and crack packs at will while paying at the end. I did leave a license and a card with a manager one day and he let me enjoy it. But it felt like a complete inconvenience. I opened 8-10 boxes and I just have no desire to sign 8-10 credit card receipts or pay cash 8-10 times every time I m in there. And if a manager is not there, forget about it. Al in all, it s really clean and organized. They have lots of product. Well stocked. Lots of memorabilia. Their consignment wall is a very nice idea. They are friendly. I differ in that I like BGS and they seem to push PSA hard. That doesn t matter to me at all, just info for anybody interested. And they have had a couple great sales to commemorate their anniversary and such. But it s just hard to enjoy it when 90% of the time you spend in the store is wondering what price everything is. And then having to wait for an associate or a computer to open up to find out what the prices are.

Super nice store. 2 stories. They have manga and figures as well as other books and board games. They also have a good Warhammer section. TCG stuff upstairs. It also seemed like they had some kind of 3D printing stuff upstairs. Interesting stuff to check out on multiple visits.

This place is lovely!! All sorts of tabletop games, comics, and figurines. My dnd campaign stopped by to buy new dice sets and the staff was awesome and let us look at the dice all we wanted. Definitely will return!!

Ive been going here for years. They have grown so much. The up stairs stadium is amazing an accommodates for all TCG players. I go weekly to play. Ryan is a great tournament organizer. The entire staff is great. I highly recommend this place.

Strengths 1. Ample Parking. 2. Good hours. 3. Medium size selection of misc inventory. If you dont see it there ask if they can get it. 4. Employees become your friends if you keep showing up. 5. Community events hosted off site. 6. Lots of in house events happening throught the week. 7. Bigger events throughout the month. 8. CLEAN 9. SMELLS GOOD Improvement 1. Not all events have an RSVP system so it can be hit or miss if there is anyone there to play with when you show up. 2. On the flip side, they can bet over filled and gets a bit wild at times. Maybe reorganize events so there isnt a massive crowd. 3. The store is small. Space is limited upstairs. On busy days they will fill up. 4. Location good for some, too far for others. I am more than willing to pay retail over Amazon to have this community resource that makes Montgomery county better and so should you.

They buy up all the retail in the area then sell it for double the price. Their supplies (one touches, top loaders) are also overpriced but know they have you in there and will sell it anyways. Good selection of new stuff but that s about all it has going for it.

I like the fact that all the employees are dressed as Marvel characters. One even looks like the comic store guy on the Simpsons. And, for an added bonus, they sell kryptonite out the back door ! So if any of you wannabe Lex Luthers wish to kill Superman, here is where the Action is.

This is the best game store I have ever found! We were in town for a wedding and thought we would stop in to see their stock. The staff was wonderful at helping us, he even checked boardgamegeek.com for us when we had questions on games he was unfamiliar with. They have a great collection of board games, what looked like a good stock of comics and Warhammer stuff. They have play tables you can use and run weekly game nights for a lot of different games. If you are a female gamer, this felt like a safe space to me.
