First time there and I was very surprised at the decor. very up scale and I felt I should have dressed better then jeans and a t shirt. Food was very good and service was good. Very loud and the dinning area is small. Most of the tables and chairs are high and you cant touch the floor, They do have half booths with padded seats. there are metal chairs that are small and will hurt you back. Owner told me they are replacing them. Sea food has gotten expensive everywhere so the food prices are high. for two people it will run you over a hundred dollars with tip. It is a wonderful place for Cedar Park and I will return for sure.

Looking for great seafood and service? Go to Sweetwater Oyster Bar in Cedar Park across from Longhorn Steakhouse. Their food is delicious and their service is professional and attentive. We sat at the bar and Zach took great care of us. I had the Branzino and it was a beautifully crafted plate. My husband had the Hong Kong Sea Bass and it was masterfully prepared.

Drinks 10 stars. Had mojito and oyster shot. Came here after work for happy hour! We had a mixed order from the happy hour/social hour to the main menu. Dozen of oysters are delish. The sashimi tower was not what we were usually expecting from the usual sashimi cut but the combined cuts with avocado and caviar on top was surprisingly yummy! We had the crab tail which was ok. Overall, th e place was cool with a vintage touch -reminded me of a different vintage restaurant in Washington. Pleasant server. We are coming back to try the different dishes!

All the dishes we ordered were perfect. We ordered multiples of each type of raw oyster they had so that we could try each one the oysters. All the oysters were cold, fresh, and delicious with each having its distinct brine and aftertaste. We ordered some starters to share like the octopus, ceviche, and ravioli, and none of those items disappointed. They were perfect. Overall for food, prices are on the higher side, but for the higher price, the quality of each dish was well worth it. For example the lobster ravioli, lobster Mac and cheese, lobster risotto had lots and lots of chunks of lobster. Waiters would come by very often and were attentive and friendly. Vibes overall at the restaurant were really nice too. It wasnt too packed, so I do hope they get more business soon since Id love to see them succeed! Kid-friendliness: Theyve got a kids menu but my kids a snob so he wanted oysters

First of all the place is very loud! I could not hear the person at my table unless I leaned over and yelled. The music was cranked up very loud that everyone was yelling. James our server was very good and proactive in knowing what we needed. The food was very good. Fresh and prepared with good presentation. Did I mention that the place was loud? Can you hear me? If less people yelling it would be a great place for a nice date.

I could almost cry this food was so good. I m 28 years old and I ve had my fair share of fine seafood across America and mexico. Hands down the best food I ve had. If you re on a budget get a few drinks and the ceviche. Best ceviche I ve ever had. My partner had the crab stuffed lobster and I had the steak and shrimp kebabs. While the kebabs were fantastic I regret not ordering two of the lobster. The atmosphere was super chill. Absolutely perfect for an intimate date night. I can t believe this place is in cedar park across the street from academy.

Another outstanding meal/service at Sweetwater Oyster Bar this week! At the risk of sounding like a broken record... we sat at the bar, Zach was our bartender/waiter, great job as always, and we started with a dozen gulf oysters. For starters on beverages this time, we opted for the Oceans 11 martini and the Midori Spritz. Both were awesome, and really fun to look at! A Hugo followed in the second round of drinks, also very good as well. Ingredients can be found in the attached photos. Our food selections included two new dishes for us... the Tuna Tostada and the grilled Branzino filet. The tuna tostado was served as a ball-shaped tortilla shell filled with tuna and all the other stuff. Looked cool and tasted even better. The branzino was perfectly grilled, laid atop a carrot ginger puree, sided by saffron curry couscous, and topped with two, large grilled gulf shrimp. The entire dish was a kaleidoscope of colors and flavors... delectable! No dessert this time. Highly recommend Sweetwater Oyster Bar for your dining pleasure! Update April 2024 We stopped by Sweetwater on a Saturday evening during the dinner hour, and the place was packed! We started with a French 75 and an Almond Joy martini... but were great, and paired well with a dozen of gulf oysters which were shucked well, and served ice cold! The sashimi tower is a heavenly combination of tuna, salmon, white fish, avocado, onions, tobiko caviar, salmon roe and sweet ginger ponzu. The dish is made by layering the ingredients in a round form so the dish literally comes out looking like a tower! Delicious! The fruits de mar linguini was equally good. Clams, mussels, shrimp, lobster all simmered in a fantastic garlic cream sauce, and the pasta was cooked a perfect al dente. We would definitely order both dishes again! Another 5-star meal enjoyed at Sweetwater. Highly recommend this place if youre in the area. Even if youre not in the area, its worth the trip! Updated Review 02-25-2024 We really wanted some oysters tonight, Sweetwater Oyster Bar it was. Zach was our bartender/waiter again and remembered us from last time. Zach provided excellent service again, start to finish. Thanks Zach! We started this evening with a couple of Last Word cocktails, a fun combination of gin, chartreuse, maraschino liquor and lemon juice... Delicious! First course, of course, was oysters. One dozen super-plump, juicy and briny gulf oyster, served ice cold, on ice. Awesome oysters. We ordered from the Crudo section of the menu, the Nama No Sakana. Not sure what that means in Japanese, but at Sweetwater, it means 5 different sashimi on a plate. Definitely a dish worth having! We finished up with another new to us dish, the Mediterranean Branzino. A well thought out and presented dish. Highly recommend Sweetwater! Updated Review 02-04-2024 Stopped by Sweetwater Oyster Bar to give it another whirl... last visit (which was our first) was in May 2023. Tremendous improvement since the last visit. Bombay Sapphire martinis were the drink of choice, tasted great! Our first plates were the ceviche and hamachi crudo. Both dishes were outstanding. Next up was a dozen gulf oysters, served ice-cold, and they were HUGE! At $2 each, a real bargain... We choose the burrata salad. It did not disappoint! We finished up the day with the scallop special, Moroccan scallops. The scallops were expertly prepared, tasty great. Cauliflower, carrots and couscous on the side, delicious. Well be back. Highly recommend Sweetwater Oyster bar this time around. Original Review May 2023 We stopped by Sweetwater Oyster Bar for happy hour recently, our first visit there. The bar looked very inviting, so we sat there. Shout out to Brandon and Adam behind the bar, good guys, great bartenders, and excellent service, attentive but not intrusive. If I was going to title this review, it would be Hits and Misses. We will definitely go back, the hits outweighed the misses, well be more wary of the shellfish next time around...

Im SHOCKED this place has any positive reviews at all. It is INSANELY overpriced for mediocre food. Wants to be fine dining, but misses the mark by a long, long, margin. My $18 cocktails were tiny, not boozy at all, and one of them took over 30 min to arrive. The service was so slow, even though there were exactly six total tables (maybe 15 people max) in the entire restaurant on a Saturday night at 7:30. Our waiter was nice but he disappeared and I had to ask two people for another overpriced cocktail. Oysters were good but how do you eff up oysters anyway?? The rest of the food was flavorless. Truffle fries contained absolutely zero truffle and came with ketchup which is completely unacceptable for the price. Crispy brussels sprouts were decidedly soggy and flavorless. Tuna tower wasnt anything special. Octopus was just flavorless and Im pretty sure comes on top of packaged Wholly Guacamole you can buy in the grocery store. All in all, a very very disappointing experience for a $200+ dinner for two. NUTS! We wont be back.

Underwhelmed and overpriced. This place came highly recommended and I wanted to love it. Unfortunately the food was just bland across the board and service was slow. Started with the crab stuffed mushrooms. $21 for 3 small mushrooms that really just tasted like any mushroom I could get anywhere. Didn t get any flavor from the stuffing. I had the stuffed lobster tails and my husband had the lobster risotto. Lobster tails were ok. It was served with a baked potato that was bigger than the tails and 2 small pieces of cauliflower. If you re going to call something a side make it portioned like a side, not a garnish. Flavor was nothing special and price was high. My husbands risotto was very bland. Not much lobster. Plenty of clam shells on the plate but several clams were missing the meat which is disappointing because it was a small portion to begin with. Overall we would ve liked slat and pepper for all the dishes but that would ve required the sever coming over and checking or asking how the dishes were. Service was slow and the food was not particularly speedy. I know some fine dinning takes longer but this felt like a casual place trying to claim that they re fine dinning. We spent $130 for 2 people, no drinks, and left hungry and disappointed. The atmosphere was nice. Music was at a nice level and it felt cozy.

More than oysters. Started with drinks and a variety of oysters. All were great and fresh. We shared the Surf and Turf special which included a filet and choice of scallops or crab stuffed lobster. The bartender recommended the scallops which did not disappoint. These were the star of the meal- so much so that we ordered another side of scallops. The service was ok- even with reservations they sat us at the bar instead of a table and service was a bit slow. It was a Saturday night but not too busy. Good for a date night but not with a big group.

Excellent peach martini and burrata appetizer were not enough to offset other mediocre facets of this visit. There are too many other places in CP and Austin area where $200 will get you a better experience. Dinner for 2 with tip: 1 cocktail, 12 oysters (tried all varieties offered), burrata app, octopus small plate, branzino/shrimp entree, extra bread. Timing was rushed, courses arrived very quickly and before we had made headway with prior items. When the entrees arrived, there was no room on our high-top, so we asked the server to hold 5 minutes. Waitress appearances were erratic and perfunctory. As CT native and residents of Chesapeake Bay watershed, we found the flavor of the SOB oysters lacking. They werent all that busy, and their reviews are generally positive. Maybe theres a reason for tonights misfires....

I had high hopes as we love a unique restaurant and good oysters. I thought the decor was bland. The food was very mediocre in general. Our oysters were expensive and had no briney punch. The waitstaff was friendly but we had 3 different waiters at one point & then they spent most of the time fawning over an eccentric regular. To be fair, that person had a great time. I was really hoping to love this place but sadly it was meh for us. The good news is that this restaurant has lots of people that love it and we wish it well.

I so wanted to love this place. Considering the reviews, it seemed like there was lots of potential. But I just came away from an expensive birthday dinner feeling very disappointed. This place wants to be fine dining - at least from the vibe and the prices - but it falls flat. Other than the manager, there was one other waitress working the entire restaurant so I was ready to forgive the lack of service thinking they were short staffed. But it just got worse from there. The high points were the gulf oysters and the hamachi dish. Our $50 each entrees were terrible. My husband got the Lobster Risotto, of which there were an abundance of clams and very little lobster or risotto - I use quotations because the rice in this dish was far from creamy risotto as described. I got the Steak Oscar, which had a flavorless bernaise sauce and lump crab that tasted fishy. It was accompanied by bland mashed potatoes, broccoli that tasted burnt but wasnt burnt, and basically raw carrots. My husband hardly ate any of his risotto, and I left about 3/4 of my meal on the plate. Not once were we asked how things were, to include when we refused a to go box for the leftovers. To top it off, the waitress spilled a shot of something someone else ordered, and I watched as she poured the liquid from her tray into the carafe the bartender was using to measure out servings of wine, and then she DRANK IT in plain sight. I went from wanting to love it, to willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and return another time, to deciding never to go back because it was awful and so not worth the price. For a $200 dinner for 2, there are exponentially better choices that are out there. This aint it.

For the price I was a little disappointed. Plates were small, lobster was a little over cooked (and I am someone who likes their seafood pretty well done), had to remind the waiter of the stuffed mushrooms we ordered twice, and no cheese on the baked potato (waiter gave me American and even melted it for me but wasnt the same). We came because another place we were going to happened to be temp closed on Mondays and ended up not super happy that we ended up here and spent way more than we would have at the other place. Environment was great and theyve got potential but for us to go in with only one other table to get what we got and spend what we spent I see no reason this shouldnt have blown my mind.

Ive been wanting to try this place for a while as oysters are my absolute favorite food. I am thrilled to share my anticipation lived up to the quality of oysters we were served! We opted for 4 different types of east coast oysters and they were delicious! We also ordered the calamari which was perfectly cooked (side note- the cup that the marinara dipping sauce was served in was tiny, making it difficult to actually dip. Not complaining, though - it was also delicious). Additionally, we had the beef tartare, which wouldve been better if it was mixed-up instead of served in the deconstructed way it was but that is just my personal preference. The quality was top tier and we cannot wait to return and try more things from the menu if we dont fill up on the incredible oysters first. We look forward to returning soon

Shout out to Tony and the team that was working while we stopped in and visited for the first time. Excellent service, great recommendations, and amazing food. Our #1 favorite were the out of this world selection of oysters (black magic oysters). Happy hour ends at 6pm and that entails delicious drinks and $1 gulf oysters. Simply fantastic visit. Also, the service team did amazing by helping out with our kiddos by getting them some french fries and accommodating our needs.

The servers were lovely and we wanted to like this place. We love oysters and the atmosphere, I will say, is nice. I ordered the fruit de mer linguine and it came with a mound of red onions ( that were not listed as an ingredient) instead of the mushrooms, as listed. I put the large amount of red onions to the side to show the staff. The server graciously got the manager, who didnt seem very concerned and walked away. The solution for this issue was to give me a plate of mushrooms, after my meal was already finished. I was a little confused and it was unfortunate, as the dish is almost $50, which i paid full price for. Im happy Im not allergic to red onions, because I would have been in trouble. Needless to say, we wont be returning, due to the very unfortunate events. Great servers, potentially dangerous food practices.

Worst $100 ever spent. My wife ordered the fruits de mer linguine, not listed at all red onions on menu. It didnt have mushrooms in it at all and instead it was loaded with onions to the point was more onions than pasta and her sauce was broken and watery. Their fix was to bring her a mound of cooked mushrooms which came out after she was done basically. Not at all worth $43 dollars. Ordered 6 raw oysters, was asked and to help choose if I preferred small or big oysters. I told him big, but when the oysters came out maybe 2 out of 6 were actually big. Not worth the price $4 a piece. When my wife brought up the issue to our server about the onions and no mushrooms that over powered and just weird in the dish, he told the manager who stopped and didnt even listen to what his own server was saying before just waking away and saying nothing or acknowledging. Leaving even him confused. Then, later he came by to take our dishes and was rude and awkward. Just hand motioned you done and grabbed it and left. This was honestly the worst experience Ive had going out on a very long time. Id rather eat old McDonalds found on the ground then give them a dime.

We had a great experience at Sweetwater. James took care of us for the evening and ensure you ask for him when you make your reservation. The food and drinks are some of the best in North Austin. We tried a little of anything from champagne to craft cocktails, oysters, mushroom, Mac and cheese, halibut, seafood linguine and surf and turf. We are looking forward to going back soon!

I really wanted to like this place. Its one of the cooler vibes in local restaurants. However, it was unfortunately a poor service experience. I requested reservations online and they were confirmed for 7p on a Friday evening. My wife and I took my oldest son and his girlfriend out for a nice meal. When we got there, the hostess could not find our reservation but sat us anyways. The place was packed (a little on the crowded side) and extremely loud, between the music that was probably a good 10 decibels higher than it needed to be. This caused us and others around us to have to raise our voices to carry a conversation. Almost on the annoying side. My son was surprised that the silverware was not on a napkin but directly touching the table. Water was brought out and we ordered a couple of appetizers and our drinks within the first 10 minutes. Well, we believe they were appetizers as they were in the shareables section. Though, there is also a small plates section of the menu. They came out about 10 minutes later. As the appetizers came out, another waiter asked if we needed anything and we placed our entrée order with him. He wrote it down in a notepad. The original waiter came back by and asked if we were ready to order and we let him know we had placed it with the other waiter. About 45 minutes later, we decided to ask when our food would be coming out. We were told it would be out shortly. About 15 minutes later, we stopped another waiter to ask him to check on the order. He did and came back to let us know that the order had been submitted 24 minutes prior. An hour had gone by at that point. So, I asked him to go ahead and cancel the order and bring us our bill for the drinks and appetizers. He assured me it would be out within 6-7 minutes. 15 minutes later, I had to walk back over to where the wait staff were gathered to let them know we had waited long enough and to please bring us our bill. He apologized and said he would be right back with us. He came back to the table and apologized and said the GM would comp the appetizers and drinks. We were appreciative of the gesture, but it didnt necessarily improve the experience. I think it would have been better received if the GM came by, personally, to apologize. I wouldnt say the place is understaffed at all. There issue is really a lack of sound systems and processes. It seems they take an approach of every waiter serves every table. While it might make sense as an idea, there seemed to be a lack of accountability on behalf of the waiter that forgot to put in our order. He never once came back to our table. The waitstaff are extremely friendly and accommodating, but our first and probably only experience at Sweetwater was bad enough to make me feel compelled to write this review. In terms of food, I can only comment on our appetizers - brussels sprouts, calamari, lobster ravioli and shrimp. The brussels sprouts were good not great. The calamari was good. The lobster ravioli was plain. The shrimp was surprisingly small. Ultimately, I hope they fix their issues as more of this type of restaurant are needed up here.

They run out of lemon juice for drinks, and my wife my a comment that it was a bit early for not having lemon juice for drinks - it was about 8 pm on a Saturday- the waiter went back to the bar and mocked my wife bc she made such comments. Food was really good but I am not going to spend $300.00 with bad service. Back to Austin! Perlas and Clarks!

Extremely slow service and bland flavors! Went there at 3:40pm and had not much.. We ordered, Chorizo oysters, crab stuffed mushrooms a dozen oysters and truffle Fries to Go and had 2 arnold palmers. Drinks - Arnold Palmers came in first quickly. Looked good, tasted horribly bad. Extremely sour lemonade and tasted super artificial. This was the first time ive ever sent back an Arnold Palmer because it was not consumable. I had to wait a long time to send this back because our server was just running around tables and it took some time for him to come to us. The Mushroom with stuffed crab came in right after and it was Good. Even the crab tasted good. Mussels - Was super excited to taste the mussels and it was a mess the moment we tasted it, the whole item was too salty to even do a taste test.. The Chef probably didnt even realize the Chorizo has salt, i wonder how theyve been serving it all along. Anyways had to wait like 10+ minutes before i could track and call for our server and it took them another 15 minutes to get us the order re-made. This time it was edible but had almost no great flavor. The mussels also tasted a bit old. After about 15+ minutes we asked when would our Oysters come in, thats when our server realized he mightve forgotten to get that into the system. . .We saw atleast 3 parties who came atleast 15 + minutes after us had all gotten their Oyster plates... There were not more than 6 tables with people and about 6 or so in the bar.. It was not busy at 4pm. After about another 15 minutes we received our Oysters and they were great!!! Fries - The truffle fries were a ToGo order and i noticed they were actually wedges and not fries which was not the problem. I looked at the quantity and it was 10 pieces of potatoes and i had no idea of what and where the truffle was. At this point we were actually not sure why this place is so highly rated and raved... Even the folks in our table nearby were talking how bad their food was and we told ourselves this would be first and last for this place. This is what we noticed. 1. Poor process and service to take and send orders 2. Food taste and quantity was sub par 3. Great ambience and location

Ok, so here is my Sweetwater Oyster Bar review! We decided to try it out since so many people recommended it. I ll be doing an official review on Yelp as well. Made Mother s Day Reservations a month ago for noon. We got there and it was chaotic. No table and they didn t know when they could seat us. Finally got us seated at 12:35pm. They offered us two drinks on the house for the wait. My husband and son each ordered Bloody Mary s. We ordered the Seafood Tower and Tuna Crudo. The Tuna Crudo was delicious. The Seafood tower was ok. Nothing spectacular (Seafood seemed frozen and then thawed except for Oysters). My husband ordered the Seafood Omelette and it was ver good. My son ordered the Sea Bass which was good as well. I ordered the Avocado Toast with Salmon. It wasn t that great. The Salmon didn t taste that fresh. I asked if they had any from scratch in house desserts and they said their chocolate cake was. We got it and you could tell they got it right out of the fridge and it was not house made. The waiters were nice but you could tell they were over their heads. Actually the whole restaurant was over its head. We get the bill and our two drinks that were supposed to be comped were not so we had to send the check back. They did honor the 5% discount for being a Cedar Park Foodie member. We paid $300 total for the 3 of us. My review is a 2 stars out of 5 and these are the reasons. We had to wait 35 minutes WITH reservations. We had multiple servers and even though they were nice they had no idea what had been done or not. The food was good but not $300 dollars worth. Will we be back? probably not.

They re new and still experimenting with the menu so I wouldn t be surprised if everything is a 5 next time we go. We went early-ish for Sunday brunch and got some really nice cocktails instead of doing the $20 unlimited mimosas. There was a DJ which was really fun. They sent out some oyster samples and my hubs ordered a dozen of the ones he liked. Two of the oysters tasted like they d gone bad but the rest were very good. I got the lobster Benedict which was great except for there was very little lobster and the english muffin was super thick and not toasted so I just ended up not eating that part. The biscuits and potatoes are so good! Cedar Park doesn t have many places like this so I still highly recommend and I believe they ll continue to improve. We used to love La Joie that was in the same location, but even though the menu and high prices are similar, the food and service at Sweetwater are really disappointing. Our server was nice but inattentive to details, and in a place with this price point, part of what you re paying for is a higher standard of service. They did not deliver. We ordered oysters and did not receive the varieties we requested. One person in our party ordered the $21 smoked salmon avocado toast and it was inexplicably missing the salmon. The owner noticed and had the kitchen remake it, which was appreciated. Another person ordered the French toast which was over cooked and the plate was soaking with oil from the frying, and the bacon was horrible - one thin, soggy, undercooked piece. I ordered the $42 steak and shrimp skewers which is supposed to come with garlic mashed potatoes, but I was told when they delivered it that they didn t have any mashed potatoes made so they gave me grits instead. The steak was cooked to well done and tough, and the vegetables were charred black but also raw inside. So over all, really disappointing. Even worse because it s so expensive.

Oysters and drinks were fantastic and we will definitely be back for those, especially during social hour. We were big fans of La Joie and sad to see it go. We were equally skeptical of the (mediocre) sushi place that followed. The food was good but not amazing, especially given the price point. Servers were polite and helpful but not especially warm or engaging. The layout and everything seems recycled from La Joie, just not as good. Oysters: 5/5 (we went with the server recommendation and they were great. On par with Clark s, Perlas, Salt Trader s, etc. Mignonette sauce was not my favorite but real horse radish was good and oysters were fresh and tasty.) Drinks: 5/5 (try the key lime martini!) Appetizers: 3.5/5 (crab cake was good with more crab than breading, Brussel sprouts were crispy and tasty) Entrees: 4/5 (mahi was good but quality did not match price point) Dessert: 4.5/5 (mousse was excellent) Service: 3/5 (very attentive but not warm or friendly. Mason was sorely missed.)

The very limited menu is even more limited when you arrive and discover they only have half the entrees. Oyster Rockefeller would more aptly named Cooked Oysters with tasteless soggy breading . We ordered grilled scallops and were served a ceviche that consisted of 6 pieces from one malnourished scallop drowned in mole sauce with potato chips. Literally that was their spin on ceviche. We were then informed that they were out of scallops. Apparently they were out if tonic as well since the Hendricks Gin was served with soda. I would have given one star but the poached lobster soup was tasty albeit difficult to find any poached lobster in it.

Please don t believe the hype. This place was terrible. Almost every table next to us (including us) had our food comped. Wrong food, wrong tables, extremely, extremely long waits - with a reservation. Incompetent bar staff. Yes, walking to the bathroom in the rear does feel like someone could assault you. And for another reviewer that I don t know to feel the same way about that, (2 unisex restrooms in the very isolated rear) let s me know the feeling is valid and will likely be felt by others. From many years of business/leadership/process analyst experience, this place is run terribly. Too much to name. Our server was great though. Seating was awkward and so cramped we couldn t stop pushing the table back and forth to try to make space between us. Food was bland and came out incorrect. But that doesn t matter. This review is solely about the owner. He repeatedly wiped our table with his hands this was shortly after having his hand firmly down the back of his pants while giving out free shots at the bar. I wish I was joking. I felt like I was in a sleazy Miami nightclub and instead we paid over $100 for our meal. Date night is scarce these days and feeling like I might get violated on my way to the bathroom (yes, it was that bad heard and viewed owner taking asking bar customer to the back) wasn t on my docket. Delicious!! Happy to have a quality oyster bar nearby. It s a classy place, and I love the open kitchen. Food was top notch, drinks were great, service was beyond friendly. Also just thought the aesthetic was really cool, almost swanky. Hats off to the oyster shucking guys nonstop. We ll definitely be back

Visited on opening day with friends and had a fabulous time. Sat at the bar and the owner, GM, and chef all made us feel right at home. They have a great selection of oysters! Will be driving to Cedar Park again to eat here.
