Fun place. The food offerings are unique and all were quite tasty. Although my seared Ahi was still cold, they offered to remake it which I declined. I like sushi anyway. The drink list is extensive and full of fun. We tried a number of different drinks between the 4 of us. All were unique and flavorful. The guy who was preparing the cocktails was a fun character. Were definitely going back to try some different dishes.

The food for the price? Phenomenal! We had the Katsu chicken bao bun, and it was some of the best fried chicken. Good quality and delicious. Sam is really cool, totally adds to the experience of the place! If you are even slightly questioning if you should come, DO IT! you won t regret it

Beef baos and garlic noodles were the meal to get. I added a side of kimchi for the baos and it was phenomenal. Beef was a sweet bulgogi style cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. Noodles were simple but so full of flavor. I ve never had bao, though it s been on my radar for some time, I m glad I popped my cherry with these. Topped off with a $2 dollar beer. 10/10 cheap street style meal. They will be seeing a lot of my face in the next few months while working in town. Food, beer and tip I was out the door at $16. I would pay much more for that meal!

An absolute gem in cedar park!!!!. The drinks are so amazing and cheap the food quality is exceptional as well. $2 for beers and $4 for insanely delicious cocktails and food during happy hour. What more would you want? Best cocktail bar ever!!!

Staff were less than helpful when ordering. Just told me I was doing it wrong. If I have to order online why should I have to register for anything? Just looking for a normal dinner out. Rib banmi was ok, Ramen was Poor at best but we liked the pot stickers. Over rated to say the least. Sad as it came hightly recommended.

Ive been wanting to try this place since it opened and I finally did with my husband (and without the kids). My husband LOVED it... Ive never heard him rave so much about a restaurant honestly. We both thought the food and drinks were delicious and well worth the fair (even cheap) cost. For food we ordered the Brisket Bao Tacos, Seared Ahi Tuna Bao Tacos, Beef Steak Tacos, Pork Egg Rolls, and for drinks we had the Ginger Smash, O Dalat, Green Pond Martini, Lavish Life, and the With A Passion. All absolutely delicious and different. The service was great, there was one guy working (the managing partner but we never got his name) and he was so chill and personable, yet attentive, and on top of everything. I believe he said the owner, Tommy, was the other guy helping on occasion when needed. The restaurant itself is kinda small, not too many tables which makes it feel not super busy although I think most tables were full by the time we left around 8:00 on a Friday night. There seems to be an outdoor patio but it didnt look set up or like anybody was able to order out there. We ordered by scanning a QR code on the table which makes it pretty quick and easy. I took off a star from the atmosphere category because personally I feel like the restaurant was 85% on point with design and aesthetics but then I felt there were some random design pieces or the bar top area was a bit too cluttered looking (ie the straws I believe were still in their original packaging just put out on the counter to use). Obviously thats my opinion and doesnt affect the overall feel of the place (and, like, my husband could care less). I also wanted to add I feel like the website could use a little more info on things (like in the about section, gallery, etc.), any other pertinent info, or a non-wix domain name, but thats just me being a bit critical- I just feel with such great food, drink, and service the website could be done a bit more effectively to give the restaurant the justice that it deserves. Overall, fantastic service, food, and drink for sure; we will be returning!

Ordered take out and it was nothing special. The baos look way different than what they present in the pictures. I know usually it should be a little different but it is like I didnt even recieve what I ordered. The pork belly was tiny and not charred. The steak was tasteless. Maybe we got them on a bad night?

Everything here was honestly exceptional! Both the food and drinks were super good and were very reasonably priced. It was a bit busy so everything took a little bit, but honestly I didnt mind. I cant wait until I have a chance to come back!! Parking: They share a parking lot with a few other businesses, so space may be limited on busy days. Shouldnt be a huge issue though!

I visited the establishment on a Friday at 5:30 pm. It was not crowded, with only one couple and a family with two children present. To place an order, customers are required to use the QR code provided on the table. This code directs them to the menu, where they can select and pay for their desired items using their phones. The staff member working at the time was friendly and managed both the bar and food delivery. It appeared that there was only one person in the kitchen handling all the cooking. I ordered the Turmeric Chicken Bao, Pork and Veggie Potstickers, and the Passion Fruit Limeade. The Turmeric Chicken Bao I received did not resemble the image on the menu. I politely asked the young man if the dish brought to me was indeed the Turmeric Chicken, and he confirmed it was. I mentioned that it appeared different from the picture, but he insisted that they looked the same. I couldnt help but wonder if we were looking at the same image. Even my friend agreed that it didnt match the menu photo. The young man kindly offered to bring me a different dish, but I declined. I decided to try the Turmeric Chicken Bao anyway, but unfortunately, the chicken lacked flavor. I added a photo of what I got vs. what was in the picture. The Potstickers were satisfactory, as they are a relatively simple dish to prepare. However, the Passion Fruit Limeade was truly delicious. The food was served in orange paper boats, and plastic cutlery was provided. The drinks were served in clear plastic cups.

The Brisket Bao Tacos were fantastic. I had to defend them from my family. All the other dishes were delicious, but that brisket is something else. We are definitely going back again for it. The Ginger Smash was also a delicious frozen cocktail.

If you look at the photos from this place it looks like a nice casual spot to enjoy a variety of dishes. The photos show food plated on real plates. However when you get there it is self service through a QR code, small Dixie paper plates that you have to get yourself, plastic utensils and the menu has pretty much been reduced to the bao tacos which are served in a paper dish. Past reviews make it look like it might be a decent place for a cocktails and casual date night but unfortunately there appears to be a change in vision for the place that is just not working. I wasn t expecting fancy but was expecting more than paper plates and plastic utensils.

Wife and I went to Max s Fusion Bar for the first time this evening and it definitely won t be the last time! In fact, we can t wait to go back! Nice ambiance with great music (chill electronic). The food was FANTASTIC and came out very quickly. The portions are small, which makes it perfect for trying lots of different dishes. Cocktails were delicious, beer was cold and staff were as friendly as could be! And affordable, which is so refreshing these days! I really can t say enough good things about this wonderful place!! Go try it, you won t regret it!!

hmm. *tilts head* *quizzical look* *confused cute dog sound*. i am a human, a patron of this establishment on this very evening. firstly, i hope very much to return in the appropriate amount of time to change this rating into a solid five with no complaints and a sincere apology for what you are soon to read. the vibe here, no way else to describe, is simply.. off. uncomfortable in some unpronounceable way. the staff is very friendly, very helpful, kind, warm, and nice. i am sure each and every person working there was giving their best and i saw that in the fantastic service. immediately upon entering, it is clean, well designed. we are directed to sit anywhere we like and order from the qr code on the table. no problem about that. i decided to order whatever i thought had the highest probability of making me sick, as then i would more easily be able to say if the food was bad or not. my ahi tuna bao bun arrived in reasonable amount of time on a flimsy plastic square plate-type-item, and there is only plastic cutlery and paper plates. while this in itself is not a problem, i do think that the overhead of 1 or 2 sets of real plates would actually be financially beneficial over disposables. this is also a bit of a bizarre choice for the cocktails-and-tapas menu. my bao was surprisingly good, i enjoyed the eating of it. 2 hours later on the toilet at the bar next door was a different story. the most egregious failure though, was in the drinks. even if i wasnt impressed with the food, surely, i thought, i could get a delightful cocktail out of this. i order the spicy me. it has tequila so thats the one i pick. (i only drink tequila). it comes at least 10 minutes later, thats fine. the presentation was shocking. a thin glass absolutely packed with ice that looked liked olives, and a color that screamed bloody mary, but was not at all. very off-putting. maybe its delicious! i think, ever the optimist. all i could say after the sip was, wow. how bizarre. an almost fake kind of spicy, a very obviously fake syrup sweet, it somehow seemed thick. it took me longer than normal to suck down that bit of liquid. my friend hardly put a dent in hers, totally different drink, but somehow just about exactly the same experience. the man working there, the only one it seemed to be in front of house, was extremely pleasant and i hope he doesnt take this personally. he even offered me another drink on him as he saw i was done, and i will say as an alcoholic, this may have been the first time i have ever turned down such an offer, not only because i simply could not bear the thought of consuming another serving of whatever the hell liquid i would given if i accepted, but also i was ready to get out of there! all this said- i very much wish the owners and employees the best and hope this place can grow and flourish to be everything it can. i wish i could be more specific with why the vibe is bad, but it just is.

If I could give lower stars I would this place is a scam and it s absolutely terrible. Don t believe any other reviews they just paid those people to advertise. They use plastic utensils and paper plates the portions are very tiny. The water is tap water and room temp no ice. The service is non existent you have to get a QR code from a dirty ripped up paper that sits on the table and then pay on your phone before the food even comes. So idk what the tip would even be for and the food was disgusting got veggie egg rolls and they are essentially refried frozen egg rolls with a greasy aspect to them and the ginger rice taste like it s been sitting out for days and my parents got the bao tacos and they were straight dough and inedible.the windows and the tables and entire establishment is dirty and not cleaned feels like this place belongs at the food court at a poverty mall.

* Pork Belly Bao Tacos: Buns were slightly warm, pork was cold. However, the pork was well-marinated. It took 25 minutes to receive this dish. * Katsu Chicken Bao Tacos: Buns were slightly warm, chicken was perfectly cooked and served. This was my favorite. It took an additional 15 minutes to receive this dish after the first Bao taco. * Sweet Potato Glass Noodle with Grilled Chicken: This was a plain and simple dish, nothing extraordinary. It took an additional 10 minutes to receive this dish after the second Bao taco. Overall, the service was very slow. Even though the restaurant only had 10 people inside, it took a long time to receive the food. The mens restrooms smelled like sewage, and the food menu was limited. The price point was reasonable, though, at around $27. While the bao tacos are the restaurants specialty, they were disappointing.

I had visited Maxs a few months ago and was incredibly impressed. Every aspect was perfect - the ambiance was fantastic, lighting was conducive to a date night setting, music was amazing, the wait staff interacted with us...the most amazing part was the delicious and potent drinks, and amazing menu choices. I LOVED the grilled pear salad, and enjoyed the grilled shrimp with rice. My partner had a chicken dish which was also amazing. I considered renting out the whole space for my grandkids upcoming graduation dinner. Fast forward to yesterday when I took my daughter there for a belated birthday dinner. The menu has completely changed. No more pear salad, no more shrimp with rice. Their format is now bao tacos. The menu has been downgraded (it seems to me), silverware has been replaced with plastic utensils, and ceramic plates downgraded to paper plates. We still had a nice time but I was not nearly as impressed with the menu options. Ill give them another try but since I didnt enjoy the dish I ordered yesterday, I would need to try something different. I hope this restaurant survives but its doubtful if I would be content for very long with their new menu options. Maybe bring back some of the old menu for more options...? Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome here, if well behaved. Its more of an adult place.

Definitely not a great place for dinner. Maybe lunch? Zero for service... we never saw a waiter or anyone else to help us except the busser. Order via your phone and hope for the best. Lots of alcohol but no options for something simple like a basic soda. You cant even get plain water without waiting on the bar tender. Because of this you have to order some specialty drink and wait 15m+ to get it. And it took 50 minutes to get our order. Kid-friendliness: I wouldnt recommend it.

Best restaurant I ve found in Texas. The ginger fried rice is phenomenal and easily the best fried rice I ve tried. Their cocktails were what I was most excited about, from reading reviews and they did not disappoint. My server offered me one on the house before we left as well. The Silk Road and raspberry cocktail is amazing. My fiancé cannot drink so they tried the passion fruit limeade that I did take a sip of and oh my gosh. It s amazing. The food is amazing as well. Had a few different appetizers and the soy garlic steak and I have no complaints. Cannot wait to go back and support them! Went back tonight after their menu concept change. Food is still 10/10 and their Japanese whiskey as an old fashioned with house made bitters was the smoothest whiskey I ve had. Im not an old fashioned drinker, but I d order this every time I go. Their new menu is a lot more affordable and it s still amazing. I work very close to them so their new bao tacos will probably be my new to go work snack. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan options if you exclude sauces. Dietary restrictions: My fiancé is vegan and had a lot of options to choose from. Couldn t eat a few sauces that came with dishes but still a lot more options. Parking: I work next door and the parking is very spatial and free.

Tried this restaurant for the first time last night and they did not disappoint! Ordered the pork belly, chicken katsu, beef, acorn squash and grilled veggie tacos. We visited this place on a Friday and ordered cocktails and an appetizer. Cocktails came out quickly and were delicious. The appetizer never came out and we reminded the server a couple of times and she kept telling us that it was almost ready. We were done with our drinks and ready to leave after 45 minutes and asked them to pack the food to go instead since we were in a bit of a hurry. We found this little unassuming restaurant by accident. We were shopping nearby and I was starving. My husband found this and we decided to take a look. When we got there it wasnt quite what we expected. We almost left, but we decided to branch out and give it a try. We were immediately greeted and brought water. He explained how to order. We ordered several small plates to share and one large plate. We tried things neither of us had tried before. We both agree that its the best food weve had in years. There wasnt one thing we didnt love. The food and drinks were delicious. The steak, pork and vegetable dishes were cooked perfectly. The service was excellent. There was one person serving and he did an amazing job even though it was starting to get crowded. Well definitely be going back again to try new fusion meals. My wife found this little shop a few days ago so we stopped in for dinner last Saturday night. Cool little place, but has a few issues. I will say the staff was very helpful and friendly, but the service and getting food out in a timely manner is pretty slow. One of my pet peeves is I am not crazy about having to order through my phone and giving my credit card and phone number information right up front. On their website you cant even see the prices of items unless you sign in with your phone number. I dont need anyone else capturing my email or credit card info and think its pretty tacky even if it is getting to be the protocal for a few places. Back to the food. My wife ordered the sea bass over tomato and she really liked it. I opted for the butter garlic soy steak. To me it was just ok. It was a small portion of sliced beef with a small side of brussel sprouts. Taste was ok, but nothing special. The best thing we had was the ginger fried rice. Nicely seasoned and very flavorful. Quite a few of their menu selections were sold out so maybe we missed out on some of the better items. Anyone can have an off night, so well give Maxs another shot in the future.

Tom has curated a fabulous menu that is so creative. He is a genius. After 10 years of living in the area, this by far is the best food weve experienced. Our favorites are the lemongrass ribs, the butter steak, the eggrolls and the Spicy Me cocktail! Its dining in a casual atmosphere. We had a lovely dinner here yesterday evening! The service was excellent, the owner really took time to make sure we had a wonderful experience, and the food was delicious! The reason I only gave four stars was because of the inability to customize the dishes, and no offering of mocktails (there were some sodas, tea, and lemonades offered). Unfortunately they declined to make virgin drinks because they did not want to change the ratio of the recipe because the result might not be what was expected. Disappointing but everything else was great!

Really delicious. I didnt realize I had come pretty close to opening. The egg rolls were ok, basic egg rolls. The ginger fried rice was so delicious! Really hit you with the ginger without being overwhelming. I also got the green thai tea which was delicious and not overly sweet (but I love sweets so take that into account). The steak was a little over cooked compared to the picture, but flavorful. I tried the tropical slush, and it was good too, not too strong, but preferred the thai tea. Would suggest anyone come and try the food.

Anyone who walks into Max s Fusion is immediately put to ease by Tom, the owner. The vibe is chilled out, the drinks are innovative and the food, is bomb. How is this possible you ask? It s because the owners take their business seriously. Their business is that of pure hospitality. The bar has a respectable collection of a Japanese whisky and gin. The food is an innovative mix of various Asian cuisines. I m glad this gem of a restaurant is in this neck of the woods - away from pub crawling throngs. This might be the best restaurant in Cedar Park. Drinks and food are both delicious and super creative. You could easily pay twice as much for food like this in downtown Austin. The only downside is you order via the Tock app, but its a tiny family operation so I can live with that. Service was still excellent, Ive been here with a group of two and a group of seven and they handled both sizes well. Ive eaten at Maxs three times now and Im looking forward to going back again.

Food was delicious, my fiancé and I split a few plates (ahi, pork belly, & glass noodles) and could not choose our favorite. Cocktails were so unique and delightful. Fiancé loved the deconstructed old fashioned (never seen anything like that), and I loved mine. They were refreshing but not too sweet - the owner told us they avoid artificial sweeteners, which made all the difference. The service was fantastic and the owner was engaging. Tried Max s out after driving past it numerous times and wondering what kind of food they served. Asian fusion - delicious, at that. The owner takes time to greet you and engage in an authentic manner. The bar staff was kind and she made us a new craft cocktail to try out. The food is fresh and authentic. The restaurant is clean. Ordering and paying is super easy via using the businesses QR code. No need to split checks, you can order individual and pay right away, no waiting. Love supporting local and small businesses. Max s Fusion turned out really well! My wife and I did an assortment of small plates. The grilled eggplant was surprisingly good. The ahi tuna and baby back tamarind ribs were good as well. Our friends joined us for drinks and we had several old fashioned cocktails that were a sort of deconstructed cocktail and used different Japanese whiskeys. Really worked out well. At the close of the night, I m pretty sure it was the owner, offered us a taste of coming attractions: grill at the table beef with an amazing sauce. So much fun. This place is great. Totally worth a try and I think they ve got a lot of great things coming. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Came on a Sat Night and had a very nice crowd, people were having their meals and a good time. I really wanted to like this place, but it was just ok. Honestly, I wanted to walk out cuz they didnt have Pho on the menu. We stayed and had a couple of dishes, Fish curry dish was OK, it was overcooked and doused with curry, with a couple of small carrots and potatoes here and there, didnt do it for me. We wanted to try something new AND different than the usual places we eat. (We eat out several times per week and have tried almost every restaurant around.) We found Max s on Google and decided to give it a try. Wow! This was a memorable first visit. Right off the bat, the staff was very friendly and seated us quickly. We really liked the ability to order from our phone at our own pace. (Some may not like this but we did!) The food came out quickly and was very hot. I am not exaggerating when I say every small plate we ordered was different and absolutely delicious. This is NOT your usual Asian fare. We struck up a conversation with Tom (the owner s dad) and learned more about how the restaurant came to be. This is a family operation and so much of themselves is evident in the food and service. We also talked to Tom s wife and learned more about Vietnamese cuisine and the French influences in her recipes. I don t remember all the names of the dishes (see pics) but each one was unique. (Try the meat-filled pastry filled with sauce! You re welcome). The food is definitely the highlight They also serve Japanese whiskeys which I have never had. Tom invited me to taste two additional whiskeys from their collection. They are very unique and refreshingly different from U.S. and European whiskeys. If you enjoy whiskey, you definitely must try. We left with such a great experience that we have been telling all our friends and family about it. We will definitely be back soon! Their system is user friendly, fast and very efficient. The beauty of this is that it gives the wonderful staff time to truly explain, interact and serve their guests. The food is fresh, beautiful and absolutely delicious. I came during the happy hour (Everyday 4pm-6pm) and had small plates. Glass noodles, Crispy Tofu, Spring rolls, Curry Tofu, Paté, Shrimp. Each small plate obviously lovingly prepared and bursting with flavor! Service was sublime, welcoming and really good. Full bar with draft and bottled beers, cocktails and cocktail specials. I had a really good pineapple daiquiri! Im a native born Texan through and through but have been lucky to experience high-end cuisine in Vegas living there for several years. You can have that same high end taste, great service and atmosphere right here.. at a very reasonable price point and without traveling hundreds of miles away..
