Ramen512 is one of our favorite ramen shops. We ve been to Japan several times and found the ramen at Ramen512 to be the most authentic we ve had in the US. The tonkatsu broth is always rich and the noodles are always fresh. Even the bamboo that goes in the ramen is cooked to perfection. We love this place and keep coming back for the weekly specials. We can t wait for the tsukemen to be back on the menu!

This place is an absolute *gem*. The ramen is out of this world. Every slurp is a symphony of flavor. I ve tried almost everything on the menu and haven t been disappointed once. The broth is rich and complex, the noodles are cooked to perfection, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. If you re looking for the best ramen experience in Austin, look no further. Some folks might complain about wait times or prices, but honestly, good things take time and quality ingredients aren t cheap. Those negative reviews are probably from people who don t know good ramen when they taste it. Do yourself a favor and treat your taste buds to this culinary masterpiece. You won t regret it!

Best place to eat for introvert. You order through your phone at the table. Pay it. They bring you food and water. You eat. You leave. No conversation needed. This is very common in Japan.

Horrible service. Sat in restaurant for over 10 minutes without anyone taking an order, let alone, asking me anything. Got me in a seat right away, because it was not busy at all in there, and still could not get anyone to take my drink order or any kids of order. Never waisting my time there again. I do not recommend if you are hungry or at all. Better place close by like King Noodle, or anything else.

We went for lunch here after hearing so much about this place and we were not disappointed. The food is so good here. Everything is flavorful and delicious. There is no service but they still ask for tips which was a turn off. But otherwise we really enjoyed eating here. We will be back here to try rest of the menu.

Nut allergy friendly, I was able to put a note on the Toast order. Note that the vegan tan tan men does use almond milk so some caution is advised. Order to Appetizer Time: 5-10 Minutes (Tempura, Karaage) Order to Entree Time: 13-15 Minutes (several ramen bowls) We got here on a Saturday evening around 5PM and it was still relatively empty, but people did begin trickling in (there was also a concert in Cedar Park that definitely influenced things). Ordering was all through the Toast app, which also had a nice promotion going on if paid with Google Pay. (Value: 4/5) Chicken Karaage (3/5): Places dont really mess up chicken Karaage nowadays. Id call this one average. Portions were good but the meat was a bit stringy. Served with lemon and a bit of sauce to dip. Spicy Tonkatsu (3/5): I thought that this relied a little too heavily on the chili oil to provide flavor and that the Tonkatsu broth itself was not that rich. Chashu pork was the highlight here as it actually had a nice char to it. Portions average. Service was nice, with someone bringing us water pretty quickly and even fixing an order mistake. Overall 3.5/5 for the value, rounded up for good service.

Ramen512 offers an efficient dinning experience where customers use their devices and take their time to place orders. That being said, it is recommended to have Toast takeout App installed and account setup before visiting to make the overall experience more pleasant. Once the orders are placed and paid, it takes ~10 minutes for food to arrive. I ordered Spicy Tonkotsu ramen, as well as Chicken Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and Chashu Rice Bowl as appetizers to share. Personally, I liked the ramen: the noodles were chewy and filling, the spicy creamy pork broth was smooth and tasty, the pork chashu and the Ajitama were excellent. In addition, both Chicken Karaage and Chashu Rice Bowl were very good.

Noodle was good, ramen broth was good, not too salty. We ordered black tonkotsu and tonkosu tan tan. I personally like black tonkotsu more, because of the garlic flavor. Everything was just right, however, I wish the topping could be more plentiful. Honestly after having ramen, my stomach was hurt. Not sure because of ramen or I am more sensitive with gluten now.

Very friendly staff, was welcomed with warm greetings when I walked in about an hour before they closed. Was given my utensils and water without even asking by a great young man named Alan who let me know that if I had any questions or difficulties with the menu I was free to ask!! It s an open kitchen so you re able to watch them cook and build your Ramen bowl from start to finish. Took them about 5-10 minutes to finish my bowl with about 3 tickets all day. I order the Black Tonkotsu with Rice and a side of menma. The bowl came out at a really nice hot temperature and had a lot of great additions to it like Beni Soga and Scallions just to name a few. Each ingredient tasted very fresh! It came with two slices of Pork Chashu that tasted wonderful as well looks like they hand torch each piece to give it a char look and taste definitely evident from the pieces I got! Rice was just white rice good nothing special but definitely a staple for any Asian cuisine. The Menma I had was very flavorful and sweet. Overall a great experience and would definitely highly recommend coming down to try Ramen 512 Out if you get the chance!!

Food was a solid Meh. They skimp on the meat and vegetables. Also the Ajitama (which is my favorite part) came out ice cold . You order through Toast Tab at your table so youre required to decide on tip prior to the lack of service. I get that tipping is expected but isnt it at least ostensibly linked to quality of service? For my money Ill just go down the road to Ramen Tatsuya.

We tried Ramen512 for dinner the first time the other night. We came by early on a Saturday and it was a seat-yourself restaraunt with plenty of tables available. The waitress brought us water from a reusable plastic bottle and empty glasses. I noticed that the lid around the bottle was a bit dirty and that was a bit off-putting. We ordered on the app and it didnt take long for our food to come. However, I was not impressed by the prices. $10 for a plain kids ramen (no toppings) seems ridiculously high. You can get the same thing at the grocery store for $0.30. The broth of the kids soup was also extremely milky. I personally have not seen ramen soup like that before. I enjoyed my meal although the price was pretty high for noodles and soup. Unfortunately my husband did not like his as much. Im glad to have tried it but most likely will not be back again.

Unfortunately, it doesn t compare with Tatsu-Ya. (Not to say Tatsu-ya is the gold standard, just a good standard in Austin). I was excited for the black garlic Tonkatsu, and glad to see a generous slice of chashu, but the broth really lacked complexity and the noodles weren t terrible flavorful, nor did they carry the flavors of the broth well. I wouldn t say it was bad. For me this was a solid meh. I want ramen to make me melt in a bowl, give me a hug, and tell me everything is ok. At the end of the day, there are too many options in Austin for meh to bring me back.

This could very well be the best ramen in the Austin area. My previous favorite was Marufuku in Mueller and its still a solid choice however, Ramen512 might have a slight edge. The chashu was charred perfectly and had a smokey and savory taste to it. It was soft, tender and slightly fatty which is what you would expect with the chashu. The noodles in my black tonkatsu were al dente and you could tell the quality and freshness of the noodles. In fact, the owner transported a ramen noodle making machine directly from Japan. Thats how fresh youll get your noodles. The unique thing about the black tonkatsu is the black garlic oil which really gives off a nice garlicky flavor. Not to mention, the broth isnt overly salty which is very common for some other ramen places. My friends, who introduced us to this restaurant, got the tan tan men and the shoyu ramen. They both really said it was good and that they enjoyed it as well. Ill have to try some of the other options to ensure that the rest of their menu holds up to this review. We did try the karaage chicken which like better than Marufuku. At Marufuku the pieces were a bit larger than bite size which I prefer the pieces be bite-sized so that they can be shared easily. Overall highly recommend and I will definitely be coming back to try it and if anything changes I will update my review. Otherwise, give this a try.

My go to ramen spot. As a person from Houston with lots of ramen options, this place is definitely the best Ramen in Austin/ Cedar Park area. Weve tried the sunset shoyu, the special tsukemen, and the black tonkotsu (& the spicy one). The broths are so flavorful, the noodles are nice & thick but not too thick. Weve only had the pork chashu though, so cant comment on the other meat. Take out is just as good as dine in. Highly recommend.

The prices are very high! One appetizer plus one entree and no drinks was $35. No servers. They holler at you from behind the counter when you walk in to sit anywhere. You have to scan the QR code at the table, order your food and pay for it before its prepared. The worst part is the tip is included before you even receive your food. They decide how much you tip. They come to your table twice. The first time is to bring you the cheapest napkins and plastic cutlery along with plastic cups and a pitcher of water. The second time they come to your table is to deliver your food. You dont get to decide how much to tip them; its automatically included when you pay your bill before you receive your food. Im not a fan of this style of service or the music that is blasting from a speaker on a shelf in the middle of the restaurant. The food is pretty good, but Im too old to put up with this hip, new kind of service.

Noodles and chashu pork in both were very good! However, my ramen broth was not good. It tasted like a spicy nutty sesame soup, I didnt like the broth at all, and even my husband, who eats anything thats put in front of him, said he didnt like it at all. So, if you dont like nutty broth that taste like sesame soup, do not get that one.

Ordered the Tori tan tan ramen via Uber Eats. The pork chashu was undercooked/raw. It was very thinly cut and looked pale almost like uncooked ham. I was very excited seeing the photos and most pictures I see here look like normal grilled chashu. I had ordered extra chashu, guess they figured three thinly cut slices will make one so why not save some money but it being pale and feeling undercooked was really inaccurate. Apart from this the broth was also salty. I understand that the restaurant might be busy but they should not compromise on safety and the quality of food of people who wont be sitting in the restaurant and ordered delivery. Unfortunately I dont have a photo to add as I reported the issue directly on Uber Eats.

Probably the most authentic ramen we ve had here in Austin that is similar to our hometown NYC. We ve been here at least 8 times already and that s why I held back a a review until now. I like coming back to a place to test consistency of dishes. Savory broth and handmade ramen noodles! The texture of the ramen is perfect - not too overcooked and has a firmness spring to it. The ramen broth has the umami flavor we love and miss from NYC ramen spots. I enjoy the weekly specials that the chef also puts out at time. The Pork Chashu is seared the right way (I m Chinese-American so I would know lol). I like the crisp sear that is lacking from other ramen joints (which I won t name here). Some places really disappoint with their chasiu but they do it right here. The chicken karage is delectable with a good amount of batter to meat ratio. I think the meat could be cut into smaller pieces would be easier for kids and women like me with smaller mouths haha but it s a personal preference. It s self-service here which is common in Austin joints but I d love if they could take it to the next level with waiters/waitresses some day like the ramen joints in Japan. I ll never forget the delicious ramen in Tokyo and NYC, but for now, this is probably the best in all of Austin. Will be coming back again and again!

Hold onto your chopsticks, folks, because Ramen512 has officially taken my taste buds on a noodle rollercoaster to Flavor Town! Ive had a torrid love affair with ramen, but Ramen512 has made me question all my previous noodle flings. From the first slurp, its like a parade of unicorns tap-dancing on my taste buds each ingredient performing a symphony of deliciousness. The spiciness? Oh, its like a sassy tango with a chili pepper just the right amount of heat to keep things exciting without setting my mouth on fire. And the broth? Its like a potion concocted by a culinary wizard who understands the ancient art of liquid gold alchemy. Every spoonful whispers secrets of umami that have been passed down through generations of flavor enthusiasts. Dont even get me started on the egg. Its a perfectly poached prodigy that oozes perfection with a yolk so bright it could light up a room. Long story short, Ramen512 has elevated my ramen game to Olympic levels. Its not just food its a life-altering, noodle-spiraling experience thats worth every slurp. If youre ready to have your taste buds join the party of the century, hop aboard the Ramen512 express and prepare for a flavor fiesta! We ordered the classic tonkatsu and the tonkatsu tan tan. Also for an appetizer the chicken karaage. The good: The pork chasu, the noodles tasted fresh. The edamame salt was good. Liked the music choice. Bad: Restaurant: was all self service, like self seating, ordering through your phones QR code and going to get to-go tupperware. Feels wrong to be asking for tips when there s no table side service given. The dirty dishes also weren t picked up to make space for our food when it came out. Also from having to order through our phones where we aren t familiar, we ordered 5 soups for 4 people. (If you see 4 people order 5 soups, could potentially ask if they meant to order 5 before following through with cooking!) Also they used a ton of single use plastic material as utensils and cups, would be nicer if there was some glassware/metal forks instead of plastic. Just feels cheap and bad for the environment in 2023. The atmosphere was very bright white lights, not comfortable, and lots of tables were left dirty. Ramen: The broth didn t have much depth to the flavor, and tasted like it had been a little watered down. For around the same price, you could go to ramen tatsu-ya or jinya for a much better atmosphere, service, and flavor.

A cup of noodles is more satisfying than this 512 place. If you want good pork bone consume then go to Eurasia Ramen. I always get the reaper Ramen, but whatever you get will be legit at Eurasia Ramen. Ive tried all their food and its all Michelin star rated. Should could be....

The use of rods of green onion atop the broth did not add from the watery broth. Also, odd stench present. Good servers though.

Ramen was good. Better than Ramen Tatsu-Ya for taste of the ramen. But the price was.. not acceptable. However if you are looking a real Japanese style ramen in Austin, I will recommend this restaurant.

Great, authentic ramen. Simple ordering at the table through Toast. The staff is great and considerate. We went just after they opened and they even started putting tables together for our large group before we all got into the restaurant. Love the spicy tonkotsu.

One of my two favorite ramen places in Austin. Ramen 512 has the best broth, in my opinion, and Ramen Tatsuya has the best noodles. When considering both, I think Ramen 512 has the edge.

Had the vegan tan tan . Very disappointing. Flavor was all over the place and had a vanilla undertone which I cant figure out why. Tofu and veggies were bland and unseasoned. Noodles didnt have right texture. Barely palatable. May be the regular options taste better but vegan ones are pretty bad. Staff was friendly and responsive

3rd time back at Ramen512, definitely one of the better ramens in the Austin area. Ordered the spicy ton katsu and spicy tan tan. Creamy spicy broth with a lot of flavor. Only downside was the bamboo in the tan tan was cold just out of the fridge and not warm with the broth. My favorite is the Mazesoba. Will be back forsure.

Me and my partner loved 512, but our visit today was one unlike any other that we ve had in the past. The chashu bowl is one of our favorite starters, though today it came out half cold. My ramen was delicious, I ordered the Spicy Tonkatsu. My partner on the other hand ordered the regular Tonkatsu, which is the dish he normally gets. The broth was bland, room temp, and the chicken was slight pink and uncared for. It was really surprising, given we had never experienced this before. Not to mention their prices raised. The price for two people ended up costing $50+, opposed to the $40 it used to be. We ordered two ramen bowls and an appetizer. We were really disappointed and sad, given this was one of our favorite ramen spots. Ramen 512 is primarily a hit or miss. There isn t much love in their dishes like it used to be and it doesn t help that their prices raised. It didn t feel worth the money. Can t say we ll be returning, but we are very sad to go.

Honestly who makes their ramen noodles in house??? You can taste the texture just like any fresh Italian pasta. The mazesoba was amazing and not too spicy, so you can still taste the raw egg yoke mixed in. The chicken karaage was one of the best I ve had just wish I don t have to drive 40 mins but it s so worth it

I had ordered the black tonkotsu ramen and the chasu was nice and supple and well seasoned. The broth was well balanced and the ajitama egg was tasty. I tried the tsukemen and the dipping sauce was too strong in the bonito flavor as it overwhelmed the other flavors. I didnt feel it complemented the chasu pork like the black tonkotsu did.

One of the better ramen I tried in Austin! The tonkotsu broth was rich in flavours! The chashu is very well made, and the tea egg perfect! This would have been the perfect bowl if the noodles were able to absorb more of the broth. Definitely better than Ramen Tatsu-Ya - very recommended!

This was my fourth time coming here, but first time for dinner. I would say their ramen would be a hit and miss. I headed here during lunch and the ramen broth was super flavorful and the meat was very tender. Because of that experience I wanted to bring my friends form out of state to try it out. It was a let down since the broth wasn t as flavorful some of their vegetables were too crunchy and not steamed/cooked enough. The chicken karaage is a little different from other places. They use a online order services to order your meal, so you would have to interact a lot with the waiters unless you have questions or need utensils. It was an overall okay experience.

The ramen was good and the prices were fair but my first impression was that the restaurant was pretty chilly. It was certainly below 70 degrees. Half of the customers and staff were wearing sweaters and jackets which is uncommon for the Texas spring weather. I suppose this is just how it is there. However, I asked the staff about the temperature, and they kindly let our table move to another area that was further from the air conditioning unit which made it a bit better. The ramen was great, and I felt the flavor and spice levels for my tastes were a cut above other highly regarded places in Austin (Ramen Tatsu-Ya, Sazan, Jinya, EurAsia). The warmth of the ramen made the temperature much more enjoyable, and I hope to come back in the future (with a jacket) when Im in the area.

Pretty disappointing to be honest my wife and I ordered two different ramen dishes and the broth of both was extremely flat and bland. With all the social media hype I expected to get a deeply flavorful bowl of ramen but it wasn t even close. The chashu pork bowl was really good but the ramen should be the highlight. We were excited to have a ramen place so close to home but we won t be back.

Everyone in my party raved about their ramen choices. One declared it the best ramen in the Austin area. The space is clean and bright, though the 360° hard surfaces make it noisy when several tables are occupied. Paying at the register is nice if friends want to get together, but pay separately hassle-free. Our order-taker was new and couldnt immediately answer all our questions, but she was sweet so we didnt mind. Abundant free parking in an easily accessible location near Twin Liquors and Randalls grocery.

First time I came here I got the tonkotsu and thought it was a 4/5 - felt like it could use some more flavor but was good overall. However I think other dishes like the mazesoba, tantanmen, and shoyu are all great. I think this place is the closest place you can get to authentic ramen in Austin that actually checks all the right boxes.

Came here again because I had a hankering for their Mazesoba, after trying it for the first time last year. Still as presentable as ever. Ordered the kid s ramen this time for my kid and goodness, it s the sadness kid s ramen I have ever seen. Literally just only ramen and broth. No chashu, no scallions, no nothing. And the broth actually taste like nothing, and barely covering the ramen. And it s $10! I mean - I can t see how literally a bowl of ramen and broth can cost $10, for a kid s meal. That s pretty ridiculous. Customer service was lackluster when we were there for dinner tonight. Unless I had another craving for their mazesoba, I don t plan on coming here again anytime soon.
