The food was ok, but not worth coming back for. Especially for the price. cashier was very rude. She greeted me by walking up to the counter and scowling at me without saying anything. She got annoyed at me when I didnt already know that they dont have the wheat tortilla that is listed on the menu. She didnt give me a receipt or an order number for my order, then looked at me like Im an idiot for not knowing my order was ready when she called a number out. I wont be coming back.

Walked in and ordered 4 tacos to go. 2 Bacon egg cheese on corn 2 Bacon egg on flour Added cheese to flour, no cheese on corn. I cant eat flour, she wont eat cheese. 4 wasted tacos. Tried calling the location from gone 10 times and they refused to pick up. Waste of money, thanks.

Oooh boy, we used to visit this places a lot we they first opened, we came back after a few years and were surprised about how filthy everything was. From the tables, to the floor, the restrooms. They didn t have napkins available, no hands sanitizer, it was a mess. We are definitely not coming back unless they get a manager who cares about this business

This has been one of my favorite places to get a breakfast taco. The bevo burrito is something special. But today, it tasted like dishwater. Had to stop after my first bite and throw it away. Took another nipple on the other side just to see if it was a bad piece of meat. Ive gotten the impression in the past that it is from the way they use leftovers from yesterday to start off the day today.

We order 2 egg, potato, chorizo taco and a Burnett burrito they were so fresh and pretty well stuffed I could barely eat my second taco and my daughter couldn t even finish her burrito lol it was just perfect and filling. I had the Burnett Road Breakfast Burrito. It is very large. The ingredients were fresh and of a high quality, the tortilla was great, and the salsa is very good. The staff was very polite and accommodating. I will definitely be back.

I ordered the Carne Guisada Bowl through the drive through - the person taking my order sounded unhappy What I received looked OK at first, but it lacked texture and the only flavor that came through was corn starch . Regrettably, the cook did not prepare the food correctly, resulting in a bland dish. I ordered Orlandos Breakfast Plate. The menu states you will get scrambled eggs mixed with sausage and chorizo. I got eggs topped with sausage and chorizo. They were not even mixed! This may be a time-saving technique for this restaurant, but the flavor is lost when you fail to mix the sausage, chorizo, and eggs while cooking. Giving 3 stars because the staff was friendly.

Excellent Breakfast Tacos. Tasty, fresh, and well filled. As a native Texas who grew up on Taco Cabana and often visited the original location on San Pedro & Hildebrand in San Antonio, I dare say that Taco Shacks breakfast tacos are better. I realize that them (may) be fightin words but truth is truth! ***Update*** Still great Breakfast Tacos! They are a bit greasy so get ready to wash your hands after pulling them out of the bag and before eating. When taking food To Go, you may want to ask for a plastic bag to put the paper bag into so the grease doesnt stain your car/truck upholstery. If you prefer not to use plastic bags because they arent what we want in our landfills, an alternative solution is to simply put the paper bag on the floorboard of your vehicle so you dont stain your seats. I also really like the fact that they serve breakfast up to 2:30pm on Saturdays. Enjoy!

Consistently solid Breakfast Tacos. The staff is always upbeat and friendly. Theres usually a line, which is a good sign of damn good food. Their taco salads, crispy tacos, and enchiladas plates are also amazing, pretty much anything you get will be a delight. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Austin for sure. Some locations still close at 2pm and cant fault them for that!

I have been looking for a fast food taco place since we moved to the area. I wanted a place with good tacos, salsa and that was fast. This place fits the bill! I got crispy tacos, steak fajita quesadilla and queso. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it all was! And to top it off, the young man at the window of the drive thru was so nice and genuine. We have found our new taco joint!

I was in my way to get some delicious Travis from this place until the person who answered the phone said what he said. First off if you have wifi for customers, you should know it, not only that he said he wasnt good with technology which wasnt a question I asked. He then proceeded to try to give me the wifi name but says I dont know it could be a combo of those things, thats not my department, anything else? Uh Rude! Yes there is something else. Absolutely never disappointed with the food. It s always delicious and the recipes remind me of north austin 2000s. However, the service is like 5/10 so bad. Getting charged for things that don t end up in the bag, bad fountain drinks, missing ingredients on tacos, etc. and honestly it s usually not a big deal, but with the prices being SO high I shouldn t have my order messed up every single time. 25¢ for extra salsa that I didn t get, so $2 I paid for just ? I really like the quesadilla from here however the treatment you get from some of the employees is enough to stay away. When I got to Taco Shack I drove around the building there was one car at the window and no one else in line but me when I went in. I went here today ordered a quesadilla with a medium drink. When the lady at the register was done she walked away didnt say anything, didnt thank me, didnt even look at me! I was confused stood there for a sec and just stuck my card in the machine. When I heard the receipt come out I took my card out and waited for the lady to come back. After about a minute I got her to look kinda at my direction to where I can ask if I just grab a cup off the counter ( not very sanitary ). She said ya and tried to rush away while I said do you have any sweet tea ( you have to ask ) she stared at me for a moment then said nope we are all out today and walked off. I took my cup and sat down. When my order finally came the guy that was taking out the trash was the one that handed it to me. I asked him what the lady at the registers name was because she was treating customers poorly. He said well shes got 3 kids and she doing everything I never could get her name, probably should have got his as well. I ended up taking a few bites of my quesadilla before bagging it up and throwing it away out of rage and sickness from how I was being treated! Taco shack most likely wont see me again and Ive already told my experience to 4 people and it hasnt even been an hour so yes this extremely bothered me.

(Updated June 16, 2022) This location is only open for lunch now, but still serving great food. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days for the cheese enchilada special. Another tip- Ask for some Salsa Verde, it is wonderful! ------ It took me 15 years to discover Taco Shack and now I am addicted! The tex-mex is off the rails delicious! I am an enchiladas guru and I could not believe a shack like this could put out such wonderful, hot, steaming cheese enchiladas! Taco plate is so much food. You cant go wrong! Try the queso! Staff is like family friendly. Take it from a tried and true native Texan that cant get enough Tex-Mex, this is one of your go to spots in Austin.

I love their whole wheat tortilla option. Went there today and they ignored me totally as I pulled up to the order place. Not sure why it didnt beep. There was a car behind me so while i reversed a few times i had no success hitting sensor again. Lady at window had back to window when I pulled up, clearly she was taking order of next person who pulled up and not alert at all that another car was waiting I tried honking but nothing so I drove off. I guess I was their ghost customer today and they lost a sale but i am trying to lose weight anyways so I guess its all good. Feeling annoyed though that person at window on a Saturday is not more alert and they need to check their sensor as should be able to tell when one car leaves and another hits it and there is no button I could hit to alert them that I was there. They probably have more than one drive off if they are that inattentive.

Great service. Small tortillas for breakfast tacos, but they stuff them full. The only seasoning, though, happened to be in the very last bite of the second taco, and it was a bit too much. If theyd put some salt and pepper in the eggs and potatoes, they would be worth five stars. Salsa was good and brightened up the breakfast tacos, but it had no salty taste, either. Ill go back again, and see if they have seasoning packets.

The tacos are the usual varieties without the hipster flair, but done right. The salsa is fresh and the heat will sneak up on you. Expected a lower quality Taco Bell like food choice. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised as there food was really tasty, large portions and seemed of good quality. The employees were incredibly friendly and the owner was there being helpful to the needs of the business. He was even helping to ring people up, clean tables , and say hello to everyone. Overall, I was impressed and will be coming back. It was good food, clean restaurant, had high chairs (GOOD ONES TOO!) And was affordable! Did mention they have breakfast tacos till 2PM!? Had no idea they even had breakfast!

What a wonderful place for breakfast! Always hot and fresh and they are always willing to serve you breakfast even if it is borderline for lunch time. The manager is very hands on and is often running the cash register up front. * The incredible window art for all the holidays is always a blast to come see. God bless!

Service was slow. Im Celiac so I ordered two potato and black bean on corn, and it took almost 15 minutes to get them and they were not crowded. Also it did not taste good .

This place is a disaster, bunch of friends stopped here on our way home and the food was so bland and gross, my fruit cup was slimy. Threw my whole meal away and left hungry

My food was cold and there was hair in my sour cream. When I went back to exchange it they were closed 15min after I ordered my food at 230pm. This was my first time and last time.

The Burnet Road Burrito is so good. As are their breakfast tacos. Eggs are soft and fluffy. Bacon is by the slice. Very tasty.

If you don t know the difference between fajita chicken and boiled chicken, then THIS is the place for you! Because that s precisely what they re serving on their Chicken Fajitas , boiled chicken, warmed up on the griddle. Better yet, if your thing is refried beans that you can pour out like soup, I d say head straight to the Shack. You will not be disappointed! I couldn t bear the thought of eating the rice or beans. The boiled chicken salad and fajitas were offensive enough
