They did a really nice job remodeling the gym. Especially in the area that used to house the swimming pool. It s really opens the place up and the equipment they put in ( Plae ) is exceptional. The manager, Augustine, and his crew are always friendly and available to answer questions or provide help. It s a good mix of older and younger gym goers as well - which is nice too. Highly recommend!

The best Golds in the area. The new renovations made a huge difference. We use the kids club almost daily and we love the teachers in there. They re adding more equipment, machines, and mirrors to give it the final touches it needs and i can t wait

Wanted to try this location out as I hadn t been to golds in over 5 years. They refused to give me a guest pass to check out the place cause I had been to a golds at any point in my life. Kind of ridiculous if you re trying to bring people to your gym. Was considering switching my lifetime membership to this but definitely not now

I dropped in for a workout to check out the facilities and I could tell right away that there is a community vibe at this gym. The GM Augustine has created a welcoming atmosphere, greeting new and regular patrons alike. All of the staff follow suit, which makes for an enjoyable experience. I appreciate your efforts!

As a 10 years Golds Gym member, it is very hard to say that this gym is in the worst possible condition. For months, there have been broken machines, missing locks, belts, and equipment. The locker rooms are smelly and have hot water on the dispensers (if they even work!). There are also no tissues available, and the machines that are there are often broken. To top it all off, the monthly fee is very high considering the poor state of the facilities and services offered. Its gotten even worse recently because the gym is incredibly crowded. Apparently, Golds Gym closed many other branches in the area, and possibly even in other states, causing a surge of new members here. This overcrowding makes it even harder to get a workout in. I already canceled my membership, and switching to Crunch Gym near by.

An individual of 60 years of age, who was once a collegiate athlete and US Army infantry Paratrooper, faced some physical setbacks due to combat related injurys and subsequently experienced a decline in fitness. After much contemplation, I decided to hire a personal trainer. To my pleasant surprise, I found the gym environment to be welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I was also particularly delighted to see individuals of my own age group working out regularly. Overall, I express satisfaction with my decision to join the gym and appreciated the supportive atmosphere.

Imagine paying over $40 a month for a gym membership and you cant even take a hot shower after your workout. I workout then go to work and I run a restaurant I cant be walking around funky. Nice lady today told me to use the family locker room the shower should be hot in there. It was but then a trainer that probably been here since 1940 told me thats not a public shower? if there is a hot shower in the family locker room damn right Im using it. The fact Ive lost 40 pounds since.i started working out here and no one has noticed and this is your job speaks volumes about their level of customer service.

Really appreciate the help I received today from both from the front desk lady named Hope and the two other gentlemen that were also there. The male custodian and other front desk associate. I didn t get their names. I hurt my myself on a machine today ( then managing isn t broken it was user error) and thankfully Hope was there to assist me with making sure I was ok. I would have been in way worse shape if she and her associates had not assisted me.

Golds Gym Cedar Park is closing at the end of the this month and Im guessing they have automatically transferred their members to this location without any notification since an account that I have been attempting to close for almost 6 months now at Cedar Park location is somehow being charged, or attempting to charge it anyway, I had to lock my card which is my only solution at this point since they wont stop trying to charge me over and over again for a membership that I have submitted paperwork and spoken with managers to cancel it for several months. Golds Gym corporate harassers me on a daily basis to pay my fees even though I have gotten my credit card company involved and I won the dispute, they are still trying. I have been a fan of Golds Gym for over 20 years, however I can honestly say I will never step my foot inside of one again and I will always make sure to advise my friends to never do so as well. Their shady membership tactics has left a sour taste in my mouth. Update 1/5/24: After several days of trying I was able to speak to someone at Golds Gym Cypress Creek. They wrongly informed me that I signed up for a 1 year membership even though that was not the case, and I have no choice but to pay for a membership that I am not using and will not use at their location until the entire 1 year fulfillment. This is absurd. I guess Ill be canceling my credit card. Update 1/16/24: In contrary to the message that was posted by someone at the location, they have not made any attempts to contact me for any resolution, however, they continue to attempt to charge my credit card every day even though I have requested multiple times for it to stop. Update 1/23/24: Still no contact from the manager or anyone from this facility however, they have attempted to charge my card 12 times over the last 10 days. Last Sunday, they attempted 5 times in a row. Update 1/19/24: No contact from anyone from Golds Gym as they mentioned they would, I still get notifications that they are trying to charge my credit card every other day. They are certainly a persistent bunch. Ive contacted my credit card company again and they have told me to simply lock my card because they cant get Golds to stop. Golds gym have however informed me that they wont stop and will continue regularly. Seems like bullying at this point. Update 2/4/24: Another 8 attempts this week along, 3 of them within a few minutes. Reminder that I have NEVER been to this location, this is a consequence of being a member of Gold s Gym Cedar Park and bad Management with poor communication and shady business practice. Update 2/16/24: Several more attempts have been made over the last 2 weeks, and the amount has now doubled. How long will this continue? My card will have to remain locked as Im afraid to unlock it and Golds Gym will run up the tab with multiple charges. Update 2/24/24: It has been a month and no one has contacted me even though they mentioned that they would to try to resolve the issue. The chargers are still being attempted and they have doubled the amount. No resolution in sight. 4/2/24: I ve been playing phone tag with the manager. He has informed me that the membership has been finally terminated however there s a remaining balance that needs to be paid. The attempts to charge my card has now decreased to once a week, but it still occurs several times during that day and around $44. But, they have sent me to collections for over $200. How is that a 2 month membership can give you so much headache and send you to collections for their own negligence. 0/5, would never recommend.

Limited parking and missing a few useful hammer strength machines. The maintenance on their equipment is lacking. Also, its usually packed in the evening, and you have to expect to stand around waiting for equipment you want to use. Its very disappointing that Golds closed other gyms that were well utilized and now overcrowded their other locations, just to save a few bucks. Otherwise, a nice gym.

I have to give credit to the manager Augustine at this gym for being the consummate professional. Hes a problem solver and has made some great changes to this location while having to deal with the influx of displaced members from the recently closed RM 1431 location. This location has added a lot of new equipment, and the additional cardio equipment they added will hopefully be 100% working soon. Be advised you may have to adjust your schedule around the gyms peak hours.

I ve been at this location going on about a year now. Pros: Most of the staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They ve recently added a ton of equipment and free weights so everything you need for a workout is there. Numerous cleaning stations available with spray bottles or wipes depending on preference. Women s sauna is pretty much always working and extremely clean (same for the locker room & bathrooms). Every class you can think of under the sun; from cycling, Zumba, Combat, yoga you name it. They have a kids club that s insane (amazed it s not utilized more). Gym is extremely clean and they have info posted to show how the gym will be growing and progression. HONEST CONS: Some staff are clearly there for a paycheck and it shows (not many but enough that it s obvious). Some of the more popular cardio and circuit machines are down and need to be serviced (mainly they have to wait for parts to come in so they can t expedite that but it is what it is). Free weight area can get a little dicey and weights aren t often returned by inconsiderate members (not the gyms fault but be aware). The adding of classes has put some too close together so it causes friction between members when starting classes late or not picking up for the next class (some instructors are not considerate of others). I ve been in 3 states in the past 10 years and this is probably the nicest gym I ve ever been to. Most bad reviews are over billing and those that didn t like having to merge when their gym closed or the regulars that weren t jazzed when new members came over. The manager, Augustine, is phenomenal though and he has a good team.

It is clean, great machines and equipment, wonderful classes and trainers, friendly staff and a remarkable general manager who truly cares about the members. Update (1/23/23)- I met a fantastic human being named Hope. Don t know many people at this gym yet, and she welcomed me with open arms. Plus gave me some lifting pointers! Hope is a rockstar I just moved to Cedar Park and have been visiting this location for about a week. Not too sure about all the 1 star reviews I actually like this gym a lot. Weights are always put back, friendly/helpful regulars, and I love all of the squat/deadlift platforms! Some people need to remember that it s a gym, not a resort

Canceled my membership. Gym has become insanely overcrowded to the point I can no longer use equipment. Unfixed machines lay around for over 2 months. I have called in to cancel my membership last summer 2023 July and the worker said he would do it for me because I was out of town, I then went in to work out the remaining month and double checked to see if it was canceled and they said yes. They are still charging my bank to this day 6 months later and are forcing me to pay when I canceled it. I am in college in North Carolina, so I m not anywhere close to Texas, I feel like they are taking advantage of me and my money due to me being young and a college student.

The Whitestone location closed and my 15 year old son s account was transferred to this location. He was supposedly sent an email but found out the day before when he went to the gym that they were closing the next day. I emailed on December 26th to cancel per their direction but was still charged on Jan 10th and never heard back from anyone. I emailed again with no response. I finally got ahold of an AGM who is there helping out and she got me in touch with the GM who told me I would not be refunded for the last month since I didn t cancel 30 days in advance. We already live 20+ mins from the Whitestone location and would have to drive an additional 20 mins to this location. I will never suggest anyone join a Golds location as their customer service is terrible and their policies do not take into account the customer s location. Stay away!

Horrible gym.. Ignore any comments prior to January 2024. Joined 6 months ago and gym usually pretty full when I joined. Golds recently closed another location that s not far and transferred all the members to this gym. Gym is crowded to the point that you can not even be creative and still train. They attempted to plus up the gym adding lots of equipment the past few months. Even with additions this gym is crowded to the point that s it s not worth even going unless you are there for old worn out cardio equipment, or maybe aerobics classes.

*Editing my review* While this Golds still doesnt get 5 stars from me, Im adding a star to my original review. Most of the employees are friendly and helpful, and you really only have to interact for, like, 5 seconds with the crankier ones. They finally cleaned the spit off the mirrors lol The dumbbells and other smaller weight-related pieces of equipment seem to be getting regularly organized now. And, the last couple weeks theyve been deep cleaning all the cardio equipment and making lots of big and little improvements around the gym. They are also massively improving their free weight repertoire with the addition of at least 6 power racks and another set of weight racks in a separate room. Equipment-wise: this place definitely gets the job done. The things preventing this from being a 5 star review for me: No chalk allowed. Ive only ever seen 2 sets of barbell clips, and they can be hard to track down, especially during busy hours. There seems to be no hot water in the womens bathroom sinks. Theres no water bottle fill (just a fountain). The wipes provided for cleaning equipment are paper towels with a bottle of who-knows-what spray. It left me feeling like I needed to wash my hands AFTER wiping my equipment down... Quite a few pieces of cardio equipment were out of service, yet I never once saw one being serviced or saw any of the tags removed. And, lastly, they didnt have a keytag to give me to check-in the whole time I was a member. (This wouldnt have mattered if they didnt require a check-in and then frequently act annoyed when they had to do it for me.) [Original review] Theres something a little drab about this place, and its definitely not the cleanest gym Ive been in. Its older and somewhat disorganized. But theyve got everything you need for getting a workout in, so this gym checks the important, functional boxes. In my opinion, this is not a feel-good kinda place. If I was here longer term it probably wouldnt be my choice.

If I could have the option to give negative 5 stars to any place, this would be the only place in the whole universe. The front desk dude Christian was useless and hostile. Had to call the cops on him because he was just straight up hostile. Idk why he hasn t been fired yet, he clearly hates his job. he didn t let me use a guest pass where I was planning to sign up afterwards. However he was rude to me and tried to kick me out and threatening to call cops on me. However I decided to call the cops on him because he and general manager decided to kick me out for trying to use a guest pass to have a workout in. Cypress Creek is my go to gym now. Worked at bee cave for a few years as well as Belterra. So its nice to walk into a gym that is well kept. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful and any issues you have are addressed by Augustine, the GM, immediately. I highly recommend this gym. As pricing for gyms go, golds gym makes the most since by miles and miles, comparatively.

The price per month is ideal. Sadly I originally chose it because its close and my partner also has one near his house thats bigger. This location has a pool that got emptied during the pandemic and it hasnt been refilled yet. No reason why. Which was super frustrating because it was part of what I was looking forward to. I hope that changes soon. The cycle studio is also out. It just seems like its forgotten about or upper management has gone meh.

Hate the facilities here. One big room with everything in it means even the best noise cancelling headphones cant tune out the sound of clanking machines. The god awful strip lights give you a headache and make you feel like everyone can see you from all corners of the room. Barely any machines for lower body, most of them seem to be permanently out of service. Redeeming qualities are that there are plenty of classes to take, and the staff are friendly.

Have been a member for 1 month at Cypress Creek Golds Gym and today I received a bad experience from the GM - Agustin. I convinced my brother in law who just arrived yesterday from California and it s going to live in Atx, to start working out and subscribing to my gym . So we went to the gym, sign the 1 day trail waver, but the GM wanted him to pay 15 dlls because he didn t had an ID that proves he lives in Austin, obviously we went to another place to work out. Christian at the front desk could not be more useless. He was very short with his answers and seemed to have a problem doing his job. I didn t have my fob with me and as I explained I am under an employer plan he just said he couldn t find it and would not explain why. Standing there with no solution and no reason to act like I was causing an issue. Won t come to this location as everywhere knows how to hire decent people. ** I immediately went to another location and was able to sort out my issue. Showing he also could have taken care of it.

Gym is fairly adequate and staff are friendly, however the manager was more than happy to let me sign my siblings up for memberships under the impression that a one-off one month membership was possible, when in reality their 30-day cancelation notice ensures you must at least pay for two months. Fair enough contract, I should have read more carefully, but the manager knew (because I explained) my intention was to only pay for one month because they would be leaving Austin, yet allowed me to sign them up without informing me of the details. Bad business.

This is my home gym. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The variation of equipment is great and the facilities are always kept clean. The equipment sometimes breaks, however the staff are always prompt in submitting repair tickets. Current shipping issues have caused a slight delay, however that doesnt fall on Golds. Great gym with supportive members!

I was there today for the zumba class with friend. I brought my daughter because it was a holiday and did not have class. When we came in and the person in front was busy. We waited 5 minutes then signed in to enter the class as new members. We took the zumba Class and it was great. At the end of the class this guy came in raising his voice to us letting us know that no kids are permitted in the gym because its a huge liability for them if something happens. I apologized and he turned around and left. On our way out. The same guy and someone else were in charge of the front desk none offered to help us. We were there to become members and they never spoke to us we just looked at them hoping they would acknowledge us but never happened. Not friendly not smiling not helpful. Nothing. We left the gym and still are not members. My friend says she doesnt wanna go back because she thinks its racism. I yet cannot find d another zumba class that I enjoy.

The accounting is very disappointing. New members do not have the annual fees. Longtime member are being forced to pay them or cancel the membership and start the membership over. However, this was not made know until after the membership renewed. Try to change status of my membership to get this applied to the next billing cycle but they refused. Mind you that the fee was applied and was immediately addressed with management to no avail. I guess being a loyal member even during the COVID- 19, is not good enough....

Great gym, but they screw you over when you try to end your membership. You cant do it through the normal app or website and have to use a special hidden form. Even then, they make you pay for several additional months even in their no contract plan. EDIT: Owner says you can fill out a cancellation form at the front desk. I asked to do that several times and was told that the manager had left for the day (~6pm). I was told I could schedule an appointment to cancel my membership or come back earlier when it is more convenient for them. LOL

I have enjoyed attending this gym. I always found issue with dusty equipment at other gyms. This location is clean, and has plenty of space for everyone to do their thing. Im always greeted when I arrive and when I leave. There is a variety of equipment so you dont feel that youre waiting for things or rushing someone. Everyone seems very nice, and willing to help if you need it. My trainer Kaelyn is knowledgeable and communicative. I always feel like Im getting way more than I pay for after our sessions. I do wish the pool was still in use, though I hear the sauna is fantastic. 10/10 would recommend.

I have tried out basically every gym in Cedar Park and this is by far my favorite. The womens locker room and sauna are very nice, the machines and equipment are great and the staff is friendly. I live closer to the other Cedar Park location and drive to this one because of the sauna.

Honestly, this is the poorest run gym Ive ever experienced. It is always dirty, the staff is cold and seems to go out of their way to make it feel unwelcome, the equipment is constantly broken, and they have closed their doors randomly for multiple days without any explanation. Soooo many problems!! I have 6 family members hooked up with memberships that I pay for. They cant get accounting right. First my son and his gf were told they couldnt go in due to canceled membership, which I didnt cancel. That guy, after much ado, was gracious enough to believe me on the phone, let them go in for one time pass but couldnt get it fixed unless in office. Then my grandson went in and they told him no membership. I pay for the membership, auto draft, but dont have the fob. Unbelievable run around which ended in them telling me they cant tell me anything about the account... even though I pay for the account, because he is a minor. Had my daughter, his mother, call. And they wouldnt talk to her because it wasnt her account. SERIOUSLY!!!!! Another fiasco that I HAD to drop everything to go in person to fix. Get your act together Golds. Youre making our lives miserable.

This location is always kept very tidy and machines always seem to be super clean! Staff is always outgoing and friendly - doing their jobs, but never interrupting my day to try to up-sell me on a higher membership or to get persoanal training! I know all of those options are there if I ever decide to explore them, but it feels like the ball is left in my court to bring this up and I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT!! Love this location

Nice gym, but it s 7:30am on a Sunday when they open at 7 and there are a bunch of people waiting outside for somebody to open the place up. Sounds like this is a common occurrence. Disappointing to wait half an hour (and counting) when you re motivated to put the work in but the employees aren t.

It is a scam for the 30 days money back guarantee. Even though I meet all requirements written on their paper form, they dont want to refund what they should and kept charging me another month as well as the maintenance fee. Dont recommend anyone to use their service. If you dont believe, try it and open the evil box. You can also get their bad reputation online all cross the North America . I am still in the process of working on it with my credit card company. Edit: I have already got my refund with my lawyer s help. Just a call and they refunded everything. Waste some time, but I felt good when they surrendered.

Poor service and sneaky corporate tactics. Don t go after 9 or you ll have to work around them vacuuming as you re trying to do your workout. Why can t that wait? I have been a member here for 2 years . I go there because it is close to my house . Unlike some of the muscle heads reviews on here i dont worry about what others do or dont do. I workout for myself not others. My problem with this location is that equipment maitenance is lacking. It has been going down hill since the Pandemic began. And they dont seem to have anyone who knows how to repair it. If they dont pick up the pace of repair i will go to another gym.

Agree with the previous comment - went to workout last saturday afternoon and half of the members had their mask either on their chin or no mask at all. One of the guy employees was chatting very happily with two ladies that had their masks over their chin, and when asked if masks were not needed anymore despite the current surge of the virus, he did not even answer. Gym was halfway full, perfect indoor combination to spread and catch the virus, and employees do not seem to care at all.
