Also known as Tran Vietnamese Delight in Uber Eats. This is the worst food I ve ever had from anywhere. The pho didn t have real pho broth and was just chicken stock, and the noodles were not the right type. The chicken they served with it was soggy, bland, and disgusting. The chicken wings were horrible, one wing was just a leg with the small end cut off. Stay far away from this place, they re putting zero effort into their food.

Guys, the General Tsos chicken I ordered yesterday was terrible. It was stale and soggy, definitely not fresh. Today, I have a stomach ache. What a waste of money. I am so disappointed with the service. It feels like a scam. I am going to register a complaint to the food authority for selling stale food to the customers.

I really think the good reviews in here are fake. They read like advertising. And this place is so bad. Ok Im not trying to be mean, but Im really not exaggerating when i say this is quite possibly in the top 3 worst meals Ive ever had. Not just Asian food either, but actual meals. The spicy wings were NOT spicy in the slightest. I dare to say they were even bland on top of no spice. Tasted like nothing. I was literally able to give some to my 1.5 year old. It was served with sweet and sour sauce and like some kind of version of ranch? Idk. It wasnt good. It was cooked to the right temp, not too crispy or undercooked. But it was anything but spicy and had no flavor. THE WORST (i want to throw up just thinking about it) was the Chicken Pad Thai. Whoever made that needs to be taken off the line. This was not Pad Thai. It was basically noodles and a tiny bit of chicken tossed in SOY SAUCE. WHAT??? I mean it was SOAKED. That dish was so SALTY we couldnt even eat it. Its sitting in the trash. It was disgusting. I cant even say it was bland, because it was so SALTY. Thats the only flavor I got out of this dish. SALT. So gross. I cannot beg you enough not to order this atrocity. The egg drop soup was just okay, but bland even for egg drop. The pan fried dumplings were also okay, a bit mushy but alright. All in all the whole experience was awful. The only reason we decided to try this place is because we didnt like the dumplings at Hunan Ranch. But Id rather eat a mountain of those over anything from this restaurant. We really shouldve just stuck with Hunan Ranch. At least the food there is good. Human Chef is disgusting. Overall, Im not just saying were never going to order from this place again. Im saying I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and rescue our family dinner tonight. That meal was wretched and whoever cooked it needs to be bumped back down to food runner.

Definitely give these guys a shot. I found this place by chance and was happily surprised with what I ordered (Kung Pao Chicken). The specific order was the daily special ($8.95) which came with the main, a serving of fried rice, and a veggie egg roll. I also ordered a side of hot & sour soup. The meal was hot, both from a temperature and spice level, and absolutely delicious. Since that first time, Ive been back three additional times and Ive been happy every time. Ive tried a few other things and enjoyed that, too. No frills but exactly as expected. What could be better? The restaurant is pretty plain jane. You order at the counter and seat yourself. You can dine in or take out. Ive dined in each time. Even so, your food comes in ToGo packaging. Id prefer a plate but it is ok. Drinks are out of the cooler and served in the bottle. I happen to like ice. Also, not sure if this is good, bad, or otherwise but I definitely felt like there was pretty heavy use of oil in the preparation. For me, the taste was great but I definitely felt a bit heavy coming out of it.

The sesame chicken was tasty! The egg rolls were fine, they were nice and crispy on the outside and not too greasy. The fried rice though was a big disappointment. I m really happy we got the dinner for 2 deal, because I would have been really upset if we paid extra for this. No veggies, it looks like there is one scrambled egg split between 3 boxes of rice (we ordered an extra side of fried rice), and it barely had flavor.

If I could give zero stars I actually would and I don t think I ve ever said that before. The cashew chicken was some bad pieces of thin rubber mixed with an entire bowl of celery, carrots and whole nuts. The sauce was awful and almost water consistency. The orange chicken had actual orange peel in it- which to some might be nice and might add flavor but biting into a big chunk of bitter orange peel in between the chicken that can barely be called real poultry was less than satisfying. Not given all the food that was paid for and what did come was less than good. Have never had such dissatisfying Chinese food before.

My family and I walked in today expecting great service. Negative, the staff didn t even greet us when walked in, the restaurant had an odor, and unwelcoming attitude. This place is open late night which really helped me as I work overnight sometimes and not very many places are open during the night. Their chicken fried rice is really good. My wife and I love their hunan beef and mongolian beef. Hunan chicken is also good. We didnt l like the orange chicken, it was super dry inside. Kungpow chicken was also good. Hot and sour soup is a favourite soup for my 3yo daughter and myself. We live far from this place but since wife and kids love some of their dishes, we always take food to go. One thing i would suggest is to focus on their packaging. We ordered $60 worth of food but all the foods were placed inside one bag. By the time I got home, soup leaked, fried rice box was already pushed in. Overall, great place, friendly staffs, clean and delicious food. Thank you Hunan Chef!

Ive had many of the Chinese restaurants on the area and had very inconsistent experiences at all of them. I finally tried Hunan Chef and have finally found my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Ive eaten here now about 12 or so times and the food has always been consistently good. The hot and sour soup is easily top 3 best in the area. The steamed dumplings are some of the best Ive ever had. Every entree Ive eaten has been really good, even my kids have enjoyed the food here and theyre not big fans of Chinese food to begin with. The service has always been top notch as well. I ordered from them via Door Dash, probably the 3rd or so time I had their food. Something was wrong with the way the order/pickup system. Someone picked up my order before the actual Door Dash employee got there. I didnt receive a call from Door Dash but rather a phone call from an employee at Hunan Chef and they told me about the issue and guaranteed that theyd take care of the issue themselves. They duplicated my order and delivered it extremely quickly. I was extremely impressed by this level of service since it technically wasnt even their fault someone else picked up my order. I see some negative reviews about this place but all-in-all my experience has been top tier with Hunan Chef and its easily my favorite Chinese place in the area.

We have a really cute story about Hunan Chef. There was one year when we had a disaster with Christmas Dinner and like the movie A Christmas Story we had to order Chinese. We ended up ordering Hunan Chef and they were really great to us. Like really came in as a life saver. Plus their one of my fave places for eggrolls. I usually get the chicken lomein which is also delish. They are also a really nice family owned restaurant and we love going here for a quick fix for Chinese.

This is the kung pao chicken I ordered. It was peanuts, celery and carrots. The hot n sour soup tasted 19 days old as it was made the first of the month and had a heavy accent of metal. The staff was quick to make my meal but the meal itself was not good. The egg roll was cold in the center and the pork in it was as white as a tissue. They had decent fried rice.

But, the lady that took or order was very nice and welcoming. Ordered our foods, and sat down at the table. There were lots of insects flying around us while we were eating. We got our food and wow. First off the do-it-yourself ordering system is a pain just ordering for yourself and almost impossible to do if there are more people in your party. Really complicated especially for the not-in-tune-with-technology, older crowd, and when you are ready to pay, the system asks you if you would like to tip. Tip who? Myself for going through all of that and making me feel like I just took a college exam? But its run by new management and is cleaner. Its much cooler inside as far as temperature goes. A bit pricey but understandable due to the growing economy. Highly recommend ordering it to go or having it delivered. Third time ordering from here. Once during the freeze. They said they were open and operating, so I gave it a shot. Ordered at 5:45. Food never came, so cancelled my order. Giving grace on a terrible night. Woke up in the morning to take my dog out, and I had Chinese food for 8 people. Not anywhere close to what I ordered. Second time, a month ago. I m 10 minutes away, so ordered takeout. Show up, and food is ready. Drive home, get everything prepared, and the General Tsaos taste like the Turkey looked in National Lampoon s Christmas Vacation! I drive back, and proceed to wait 35 minutes for them to remake my order. During this time, I watched the young guy, who I assume is the manager/owner refund two different orders. I didn t ask for a refund this time. Figured I d give one more chance, in hopes they were able to correct some mistakes. Ordered delivery, and it was fast. Excited to eat, but guess what? Yep, chicken tastes just like the turkey I previously mentioned. The young guy running it, has given away so much money. He works extremely hard. I know this, because I watched him while I waited 35 minutes the last time I ordered. Please, please, please, bring in a consultant. If you keep serving food like this, it won t be long until you re out of business. Wish you the best of luck. Will not try a fourth time!

This was at once the best Chinese takeout but since new management the quality of food has gone downhill, found a lot of gristle in the meat and it doesnt taste the same. They carried over the name but not the quality of the food, I think low quality ingredients are being prepared and the cooks dont look like Oriental cooks. New comfort Chinese food spot!!! Egg rolls are made in house and are ridiculously good. We also got the chicken katsu and salt and pepper shrimp (I will recommend this forever lol thinking about them right now makes me hungry). Hunan has always been my go to in the area for chinese takeout. Been buying there awhile, recently theyve changed management! The inside of the story looks great, and it looks like theyre preparing for a new year with the staff. Im giving a 3 star because the food quality wasnt as good as it used to be. The portion size has been made smaller, its missing something flavor wise that really made the food before. Its still a solid choice for first timers. Id pick Hunan over Panda. But I hope when I order next time the food will have that oomf its missing. Looking forward to seeing how Hunan grows!

As previously stated there are roaches. If you go to the bathroom you will see evidence. Clean up the place.. eww.. a exterminator is cheaper then loosing clients.. All the food we ordered was battered more then I ve every had anything before and burnt. Way over cooked. The veggie egg roll was nasty. I took a bite and the inside was gray like it was rotten. Please do not eat here if you value your health. They said they reopened with new owners and from the looks they won t be open long.

I was in the Cedar Park area and craving Chinese, especially after my first option turned out to be unexpectedly closed. A quick search of the Yelp app turned up this as an option and I decided to give it a shot. My first impression was the right one. Namely, a fairly typical Chinese options in a strip center. Since I was hungry, I tried a variety of options including egg rolls, fried pork pot stickers, and my usual standby of General Tsos Chicken. The egg rolls were the classic crispy option. Unlike a lot of places, the sweet and sour sauce wasnt the usual red goop and was the lighter orange duck sauce. The pot stickers were also crispy. The usual ginger sauce was replaced with what seemed more like a ginger sauce heavily loaded with chili oil. The entree was fairly standard and satisfying. My biggest concern with the place was the lackadaisical service. I had to ask for several things including the sweet and sour sauce, sweetener for my tea, soy sauce, and tea refills. These gaps might have been caused by the fact that I had two different servers. While its not someplace Id routinely make the drive for, its not a bad option and would be even better with some semblance of better service.

This is my very first review of anything but I feel you should know, I have been going to this restaurant for like 10 or more years. Went there today and Im very sad...My son opened the menu and a two roaches came out and ran across table. My son said mom its ok. But next after we got the food my son had a long black hair ( Hes blonde ) inside the wonton of the soup.. I was about to eat my soup stirring it; appeared 2 bugs. This place has gone to trash and bugs. BATHROOMS were nasty. We told them about this and were basically ask not to come back in which we agreed. This is the owner Im referring to. So just be aware of the bugs and unsanitary conditions and a owner who doesnt care.

Monday evening ypur dellvery driver stood and chewed my Ring doorbell out for half an hour! We didnt make it home before our food arrived as we expected and even though we clearly stated to leave it at the door, she stood there and threatened and trash talked our doorbell video camera for 32 minutes. Said we had to sign because the store requires it and wanted her tip. I was driving so my teen daughter answered her on the mobile app and tried to tell her we just hadnt made it back yet and asks her to leave it and she scolded my daughter out horribly. This was my first visit to Hunan Chef and I was very pleased with the results. Sadly, there is no in-restaurant dining and all orders are take away or delivery. I stopped in for a late lunch and took it home. It only took about a 10 minute wait. They do an impressive amount of to go orders that I noted during my short wait. I really enjoyed the Sesame chicken with broccoli, an eggroll, fried rice and a cup of hot and sour soup. Everything was freshly made and still warm and very tasty when I got home. Looking forward to a return visit soon - - even if its only to go! They have a fairly extensive lunch and dinner menu and I look forward to trying many different items!

I have been coming here since 2004 (it is 2019 right now). And the food is still as fresh as always. My Chicken Szechuan was great, fresh vegetables, fresh chicken, and the rice was delicious too. Oh yeah, there was an egg roll or 2, and man they are delicious. My partner has Sweet and Sour Pork. He s picky with sweet and sour sauce, but again, it was fresh and not prepared ahead of time. Even the duck sauce and Chinese mustard was fresh. And staff hasn t really changed, stability is the key. And they are the best in Cedar Park! #I llBeBack

The egg rolls are flaky and the pork wontons are more pork than breading, which I was pleasantly surprised by. The sweet and tangy shrimp is a lot of food with pretty big shrimp that were juicy. The food was not overly spicy, and with their special spicy sauce (horseradish or wasabi base) on the side, it caters to anyone who likes it hot. I will definitely be visiting this cozy get away restaurant again.

This place has always been our go to for great food and great service. The service is still wonderful but there seems to have been a change in the way things are being prepared. Their egg rolls were my familys absolute favorite thing there and when we ordered last night, they were very very different. My husband still likes them, but the rest of us were unable to eat them. Decent prices but they add stuff that you might not want and dont give you the option to take things out such as shrimp, chicken, or vegetables in their rice or chow mein. The chow mein was absolutely nothing like what I expected and had no noodles, just fried crisps on top. Im definitely not ordering here again. So how we found this place is an interesting story. We were going to eat at another Asian restaurant. But ironically, they were closed (it was on a Tuesday afternoon). So we found Hunan Chef near by. The place was small and to me, that means it will be nice and the food comes sooner. The Hostess was also very polite. My mother loves lemon chicken. And they had it. My favorite is the crab cheese rangoons. The cool part was that it was served with a yellow sauce that kinda tasted like a sweeter version of honey mustard. The sesame chicken I had was good too. All in all Im glad we found Hunan Chef. Totally recommend it.
