I always bring my other family members and friends here too. Boudin balls are AMAZING & brunch. Can t really go wrong with any dish. :)

Great little place. Service was excellent. Drinks were awesome. Ordered 3 different appetizers which all were amazing. The main entrees were plentiful, and looked amazing. We just felt that all the main dishes were too spicey and we all like a little kick. We understand that its Cajun and Cajun has generally a kick to it but it really could have been kicked down a notch. Other than that its a cool place and definitely worth a visit.

This is the 2nd time my daughter-in-law & I have been here. This time, we both ordered the Smoked Meatloaf, mashed potatoes with brown gravy & fresh green beans. The Smoked Meatloaf was really good, and the green beans were really fresh and still had some snap to them. Our server was very attentive and friendly. She kept checking back with us to see if we needed anything else. It was dinner time and was very loud in the restaurant because there is a bar and there were a lot of customers dining in. The 1st time we dined there, it was lunchtime, and it was not loud at all. The food was good both times, and we will definitely consider eating here again when we are in the area. Parking: There are other businesses on site so the parking lot can be full at times.

Service and atmosphere were fine but the food was not the best at all. The gumbo was way over peppered. Not spicy. Just way too much black pepper, so overpowering I literally didnt eat it and I eat everything. The catfish was alright. Definitely would rather hit up Whip My Soul for catfish.

Its a shame, Leander was always a joy to visit, but Cedar Park was again a letdown. Bens recipes are authentic, Cajun, but when the cooks dont put forward the effort, whats the point. My wifes beer battered catfish was soaking in grease, my gumbo was lukewarm at best. The gator bites dried out. The waitstaff was obviously either overloaded, untrained or just didnt care. The only thing that seemed important was the trivia guy.....who we didnt come to see. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Moutons as a go to....a sad day.

I was so disappointed. I moved away last year and just came up to Austin for a visit . I had to come to Mouton s for their deliciously memorable Eggs Rachel Benedict. All I tasted was the panko breadcrumbs. I picked it apart and didn t find any lump crab meat. When the waitress asked if I enjoyed my food, I explained the problem. She spoke to the kitchen and said that they didn t prepare it properly. She didn t offer to remake it, nor credit my bill. I couldn t eat it and left it all there. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

The food was quite good. And the portions are generous so dont be too put off by the prices. It wasnt terribly busy but it took quite some time to get our food. Worth the wait, as like I said it was very tasty. And we were entertained by the local barfly pounding shots a few feet from us, telling those nearby tall tales about large snakes he had encountered. Overall, a good experience! ;-)

I have never been to a place where I did not tip, the server was nice but the overall experience was not good at all. We were a group of three, ordered grits and shrimp, omelet, and the egg biscuit. We waited for our food for over an hour just for the server to let us know they were out of biscuits and if we wanted to order anything else. We didnt order anything else asked for to-go boxes and the check. Several other tables walked in after we did and received their food first. We all didnt eat, left hungry and upset. The server did remove the egg biscuit off our ticket and gave a discount on the food we took, we are not from the area and obviously not returning to this establishment.

Delicious food, fantastic service and a comfortable homey (not the clown) atmosphere. My wife and I have been coming to Moutons for years. First the Leander location (RIP, well miss you Leander Moutons ) and now the Cedar Park location. My wife absolutely LOVES the corn beef hash. I love a lot of things here. The country fried potatoes and Pain Perdu (French toast) are particularly delicious, so I definitely recommend those! Autumn was our server last time we were in and the service was magnificent. Eggfficient and on point. I love the fun and unique coffee cups! Again, very homey (not the clown). They even have a pool table and some dart boards if you come with friends and are looking for a group activity outside of shoving yummy foods in your face.

Took my family to lunch to celebrate my grandsons graduation into highschool. We went to the place in Leander only to find it permanently closed. Was told there was a second restaurant by a friend so we went there, big disappointment. The positive aspects are the servers are efficient and friendly, the drinks were cold and the food was tasty. Downside is the kitchen..... food was just warm, my son in law and grandson ordered full sandwiches and got half sandwiches, I had chicken fried steak (half) with fried okra, everything was just warm as if it had been sitting in a warmer. Had an order of fried tomatoes (under cooked) onion rings (undercooked) had to literally cut everything with a knife. I think you closed the wrong location, I have eaten at the now closed location several times and never had a meal as unsatisfactory as I did today. I have worked restaurants in all aspects and never would I serve or allow a meal to be served as I got today. Fix the kitchen problems or you will close the doors without warning like the other restaurant. 25 years behind the grill and serving the customers, I hope you fix the problem with the kitchen. $120.00 for lunch and tip is a little high for the quality of the food we received.

Havent been in about 6 months and boy have things changed. Took about 35 mins to get our food and it wasnt crowded. My favorite, Eggs Rachel was served barely warm. The eggs were cooked perfect, but cool. The crab cake no longer has crab in it. It may have had a few flakes, but not lump chunks like it used too. Very disappointing. The spicy Bloody Mary was good. I had the Mothers Day Brunch Special Pork Belly Eggs Benedict. The venue lists it having tomatoes and asparagus, it did not have either. My eggs were cold and there was very little hollandaise sauce. The hash browns were warm so this was a kitchen issue. I also witnessed a bartender being very short with a younger female employee, on multiple occasions. One particular moment was very cringing. I felt bad for the young girl.

Great food, but the personality of the server was just a bit sarcastic and off putting (her). Dont need that. Heres an edit: Me and boyfriend went to get lunch. Not only were there no 2 top tables (seriously, it really doesnt seem like that big of a restaurant that cant get a lot of 2 top tables, I know thats not the servers or hostesses fault obviously), but after we went to the bar, we waited there for 3 minutes with the hostess NOT even giving some menus (I am also a server, this is completely unprofessional), after that we walked out and ate at UMIYA with PROFESIONAL service and a much better experience. Plus as we walked out of here we still saw the menus and silverware we were never were handed to and the hostess stand. Hopefully I will never return.

My recent visit to Mouton s Bistro & Bar was a delightful journey into classic American comfort food. The restaurants cozy and inviting atmosphere set the perfect stage for a satisfying meal. I savored a chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, and both dishes were exceptional. The chicken fried steak was crispy and tender, smothered in a flavorful gravy, while the mashed potatoes were creamy and comforting. Mouton s Bistro & Bars dedication to delivering authentic flavors and high-quality dishes was evident in every bite. The friendly service and the warm ambiance added to the overall enjoyable experience. Whether youre a fan of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, or simply seeking a taste of American comfort, Mouton s Bistro & Bar is a must-visit. The app came out: one 18 dollar semi warm crab cake. We ate that and waited again watching others get served like they were friends and family! So after 38 minutes waiting on lunch we left. Hungry. Just average. I was not overly excited about any of the dishes I tried here over the course of 4 visits. Perhaps having lived in NOLA spoiled me, but I know what I want from Cajun and Creole food, and this place just wasnt it.

We went to Mouton s Bistro and Bar for lunch. Casual atmosphere. Plenty of seating when we arrived. Friendly staff. Lots of choices and variety of Cajun dishes. Shrimp Etoufee, Sheridan shrimp and Fries, Blackened Catfish were all delicious.

Comfy atmosphere fantastic employees and excellent food! Hubby had chicken fried steak, eggs, biscuits and gravy. I had shrimp, grits, and eggs. Eggs cooked to perfection, as were the shrimp and chicken fried steak. Cheesy grits with a small jalapeño kick. Gravy was spot on, and great coffee :) Highly recommend!

I asked My Mom #soulsisterstravellingplants where to get a good family style meals for a reasonable price and recommended sharing a few entrees from Moutons She said Their angry pasta is good. Their chicken fried steak is superb. Theyre greens are good. Shrimp and grits over the top. I grabbed the Angry Pasta, The Chicken Fried Steak With Asparagus, Spinach, and garlic bread, and I couldnt pass on the fried green Tomatoes All Winners #Potions It was enough food to feed 4 of us full meals plus one teen brother who was feeling snackish after his shift at work. The food was incredible The prices ....eh..... Chicken fried steak Asparagus. Angry Pasta.... (It was an interesting flavor combo and I did not fancy it but everyone else loved it so kudos ) Spinach cooked Perfectly.....lack a little flavor so I topped it with lemon pepper and it was delish Fried Green Tomatoes I need at least 3 more in that order......lol Beautiful seating areas Live music I came in close to closing so not much staff but my order was ready and waiting when I arrived #whereswhoopsy #texasangel #followthebuild #loveandlight #adventure #positiveenergy #payitfoward

I thought the hurricane was a little on the sweet side but the Spicy Marg my sister talked me into getting was perfect! Kid-friendliness: I don t have kids but it seemed very kid friendly and not too loud if you have young infants.

After trying this place several times, and each time it being a huge disappointment in every way, I feel I have to write a review. The most recent visit was yesterday. My mashed potatoes had paper in them. There was a nickel-sized wad of paper in my mashed potatoes. A hair I can understand, as they can just fall off your head, but a wad of paper? No, just, no. So I inform the server of the paper and she says oh let me have that and Ill go show the cook. Ok, Im thinking, theyll probably have the manager come out and apologize etc, maybe offer to comp the plate, which I probably would have refused if they were genuinely apologetic and handled it correctly, but nope. They did comp the mashed potatoes after I told them I wasnt paying for them. So theres that. Also, there were 3 of us and our drinks remained empty for most of the meal. Our previous visit was pretty bad too, we were sat and told they were behind so itd be about 30m before we get our food, we said ok, ordered, and over an hour later still had no food. Same issue with drinks. This place is terrible, and based on the experiences Ive had its amazing theyre still open.

Been there 3 times. 1st time was ok. 2nd time, the band was so loud we just left. 3rd time, today, Brandon was our server. I dont know if he was special or on meth, but he sat us in such a rush he shoved me out of the way before I could sit. The table was dirty so we had to wait for that. He asked us twice for a drink order as he walked away not taking our order. We were so dumbfounded we just ordered two drinks, forgot about our meal. He asked, did I do something wrong which we replied, we felt rushed and just want our check. Over 30 min later, we had to flag him down for our check as we had empty drinks.

First time going to this place with my family and all I can say is well never be going to this spot ever again. We didnt catch the waiters name but hes a redhead, we get in there and ask him politely if we were able to park where we did and just stood there and answered us as if were stupid, he sits us down and asks for our drinks and just stares down at each one us instead of asking. He comes back with our drinks and drops the HOT coffee on my mom, accident or not he had been giving us attitude from the moment we came in. He didnt even bother to say sorry or offer anything to her to feel better, there wasnt even any napkins for her to clean herself with. The manager offered a $10 DOLLAR GIFT CARD as if that was going to cover for her burns. Bad experience overall and we left within 10min of arriving

Moutons is what youd get if you wanted to perfectly merge a comfortable neighborhood tavern with a Cajun kitchen. The result can offer unique items like the Frenchuletta, a muffuletta variant on French bread. I was surprised how the simple change of the bread allowed you to taste the classic ingredients of the sandwich better than the traditional loaf. I was able to order mine with sweet potato fries, certainly not classic Cajun but welcome in the neighborhood bistro fusion that this place is. A great place for a casual night out or an I dont want to cook tonight evening.

I have ordered pickup orders here 4 times and have dined in once. It was interesting because the food you pick up and take home generally isnt as good as it is when you dine in. Oddly enough, it is quite the opposite here. I think the food I have ordered and picked up was far better than the food I received while dining in. The interesting part is that I have ordered the exact same thing all 5 times. The food is good, the service is great, and the atmosphere is good. I am hopeful that it was just an off day and will be giving the dine in food another shot.

We have been looking for a late night food spot since we moved down here in September, and by late I need it later than 10pm! This was better than I could have expected. Cajun food is our favorite and being able to eat such great quality food this late just made our late night food runs more exciting. Our server Alysha made the best recommendations and was so attentive and friendly. We will most definitely be back, and well be playing pool and darts next time :-)

We used to go here often, but my husband refuses to go after our last dining experience. We decided to eat outside since it was nice out, but they allow patrons to smoke on the patio. There were two guys puffing away on cigars, which was engulfing the whole outdoor seating area with zero regard for anyone else. All we could taste of our $80 tab was fowl cigar smoke. The table next to us (the only other table occupied) was upset as well. When we left, the manager/owner popped his head out the front door to give a half-hearted apology and said there was nothing he could do which is complete bullocks, because he can enforce a no-smoking policy in the outdoor dining area, but chooses not to. Hope the guys smoking cigars go there often enough to compensate for the patrons who decide eating where they can actually taste and enjoy their food would be best found elsewhere. Such a shame.

Went for breakfast. We had the breakfast sandwich and biscuits and gravy. It was very good. The gravy is perfect, lots of flavor. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. Needed a quick dinner so ordered food online. Leander Brown Catfish, cajun fried and mashed potatoes. It was great as well! We have never had a bad meal here. Consistently good. The wait staff is always attentive and greets you as soon as you walk in. Food is prepared quickly and exactly to order. Any time someone asks where to go eat a good chicken fried steak in the Cedar Park/Leander area we tell them this is the place! They just opened the Side Room for late nite drinks and snacks. Havent had a chance to try that but I bet it is amazing as well.

Tried it for lunch Friday, located in a neighborhood in a shopping center. Back patio is very nice, spacious with lights for night dining. Good menu options, a lot but not overwhelming. Sausage gumbo was spicy but not very flavorful. Shrimp poboy and fries was good. May be back for brunch. Wheelchair accessibility: A little difficult to navigate inside patio is bigger but picnic tables may be difficult to navigate or group accommodate l.

Im not sure where to to start, please forgive as I am no writer. I have been going to Moutons since they opened in Leander. I Have always been a fan of their scratch made food, and hand crafted drinks. I love Eggs Rachel on the breakfast menu its always my go to, and for Dinner I would have to say the Als chicken. What really keeps me going back, Is the service. Its always on point, and Molly is one of the best, if you go there a few times, she will remember you and what you order, always greets with the most welcoming vibe, Her smile is one to remember, She will always go out of the way to make sure your meal is perfect , and have everything you need.
