Fantastic Steak house! Everything was spectacular and cooked perfect! We started with the brisket queso and chips and some Rattlers that were really good. The steak dinner and Pork chop dinners were excellent and cooked perfect, hot all through, and tender and juicy. Our waitress Angie was incredible with helping us navigate the menu and getting our order perfect. She gave us great attention and service, its nice to know it still exists. I looked forward to a nice steak dinner with my beautiful wife all week and The Saltgrass and Angie did not disappoint! Thank you

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH SALT GRASS STEAK HOUSE IN CEDAR HILL? We made dinner reservations there to avoid the New Years Eve crowd & traffic last year, and everything was wonderful: Good food, good service, good crowd, low traffic impact. So we made reservations there again this year. BIG MISTAKE! No qualms about the food. It wasnt packed, so there was plenty of seating, even if reservations werent made. But WHAT IN THE NAME OF ALL RESTAURANTS IS GOING ON WITH THE SERVICE???? Ill get straight to the cherry on the top... Our table had no placeholders. I asked our Server to (at least) bring some napkins when the appetizers were served. Well, we got the little drink napkins, and still no silverware. I thought, ok Ill be patient, theyll bring it when they bring the food. NO, DIDNT HAPPEN! Our Server didnt even come back to the table to check on us when our food was brought out. So, we had to go ask the Hostess for placeholders. It took a minute for her to return. During that time, our Server finally showed up again, came over, and asked us if our meal was perfect. We told her we didnt know, we had no utensils to eat with. When the Hostess finally returned, she asked us a question that wed NEVER heard asked in a restaurant before, in either of our lifetimes. She said, We are completely out of silverware, so would you mind using plastic? Our minds were reeling. We couldnt believe what we were hearing. WHO EATS STEAK WITH PLASTICWARE? Here we are spending well over $100+, and were asked to eat our steaks with plastic. ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Well, as I mentioned earlier, the restaurant had plenty of seating. Id already noticed some of the unoccupied tables did have placeholders. So I kindly asked the Hostess if we could please get placeholders from one of those tables. She was kind enough to accommodate us. Well, the Server started checking on us more regularly after that episode. Maybe she thought about how this would affect her tip, at this point; a little too late. However, we did leave a tip, although undeserved, but it wasnt the % I would normally leave for good service. If youre going to work in Customer Service, SERVE THE CUSTOMERS WITH YOUR BEST, (at least have enough silverware for all of the Customers). WHAT IN THE WORLD? With service continuing at the level we received last night, Salt Grass cant expect Customers to remain satisfied, and faithful Patrons. I thought we would make this a New Years Eve tradition, but we wont be back next New Years Eve. Not sure if/when we will ever return. SO DISAPPOINTED.

This place had been hit and miss every time I come here. My last visit was a big miss. The first visit was an incredible experience we came for Mothers Day and had a large group. The wife enjoyed it and we came here for our anniversary and that what a huge miss, my wifes food had to be taken back twice, first the salmon was burned and the steak was raw. So I finished eating and her food was finally brought back, salmon was fine but the steak was once again raw. Not even pink but completely red in the middle. Went again as a large group the day after Christmas and the service and food were excellent, went again just the wife and I because I had a craving for chicken fried chicken, and well we ordered and almost 30 minutes later the waiter said the food was talking so long because my wife ordered a well done steak, another 20 minutes went by and I asked the waiter why it was taking so long to get our order. His response, I dont know, Im not back there cooking it, so I asked to speak with the manager. The manager also said he didnt know, I told him I knew it didnt take 45 minutes to make a well done steak. He said he would check, but by know I had decided that I just needed to go. So I asked for the check and then left.

This is my first time coming to saltgrass for Christmas. I usually go to Applebees no comparisons. But I ordered AT bone steak, me and my daughter and it was not seasoned. The manager did give me a discount. Do appreciate that. My server she was great her name was zee I really didnt care too much for the 2 ladies. That was working the front desk. They maybe they was ready to get off work. I dont know. For my appetizer, I did get the fried mushrooms. They were good, but they should have been cooked a little bit longer because the batter. Kept coming off of the mushroom but I worked with it. My granddaughter is 6. She got the chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese. She really liked the macaroni and cheese but the chicken tenders. She said they was all right. She really didnt eat them Overall, it was good. I may come back again next year for Christmas.

I ordered the Nashville Hot sandwich. What I received was three chicken tenders on a bun with some slaw on top of it. The BUN was delicious; however, I am not sure how anyone could call it hot because it was largely tasteless. We sat for almost 10 minutes before anyone even asked us it we wanted drinks. Then, when they brought them, PLASTIC STRAWS! Do these people not know all of the detrimental environmental impacts of these? And I wasnt even given a choice to use it. They were stuck in the drinks when we came. Overall, Im disappointed.

After a short wait I was seated, Daniel the server was absolutely great! Great allergy awareness, shrimp cocktail was good, steady refill on drinks. Ordered Pats ribeye and didn t think much about it until it came out, I realized the server never asked what temperature, the steak was well done and that was very unfortunate. Its with a deep heart that Im saying this. Ive been coming here to this same location for 20 years and to day was the worst experience I have ever had. It took 2 hours to get our food. We had a party of 10 and the first 5 got there food first an hour in a half later. Then the next 5. Food was cold. The table next to us also a larger group experience the same thing. One waiter for 2 large groups. There was even a bug in my food. I know it happens but wow. I spoke to the GM and she did apologize and take care of it immediately.

I had the grilled chicken breast, which was tender along with a baked sweet potato and house salad. The food was delicious. Ambiance was nice for a younger crowd. Food was overall delicious for younger people. Prices were wrong for what was ordered, and the appetizer was disproportionate to cost. Your average steakhouse. Nothing special for the price. We were here with a very large group, though, and the service was quite good. Especially considering that both our waiters had other tables in addition to ours, and I needed a little bit of special attention due to my gluten allergy. Dietary restrictions: I have celiac disease and they were very accommodating to my gluten allergy. I did fine and the food was good.

Visited the location recently with our guest and family to enjoy our meal out. There wasnt enough communication going on amongst the staff as our order kept getting wrong. Well done steak and no pink,,,,means no pink inside. with the time we waited and the time it took to recook the steak , it ruined the experience. Then we asked for bowls of soup and was brought cups of soup out to us instead. they left a bowl off and as the others were eating i was still sitting awaiting my soup. We had to call the lady manager over several times to help. I hope this improves as we hadnt been here in a while.

Been Landrys Members for over ten years and uts worth every penny yearly birthday gift cards and special treatment goes a long way. This location is one of our favorite staff is on point for the most part they do lack a little bit 5 star service it offers but its understandable with new or bad talent. My experience was far from even being good service...4 stars for the food Our orders were all wrong when they arrived at our table. We had to move unwanted dishes to another table after we finished our appetizers etc...Our server took forever on everything never returning to see if we needed anything then after the confusion on whos order this or that is when we were advised by another server or server was sick. Stopped in to grab a bite while in Dallas on business, we were seated quickly and our server was great, I dont remember his name, I had the NY strip with baked potato and salad, all were excellent, the steak cooked just right, tender and juicy and very flavorful, no steak sauce needed. My daughter and I went for a late dinner.. Our server, Haley, was fantastic. She was attentive with out hovering. The food was great. However I was dumbfounded by an incident at the next table where a customer belittled a server and manager without regard for every solution offered to them. It was mean and hateful, in front of her large party and the tables next to her. I applaud the server (Freddie) and the manager (Monica) for their restraint and professionalism. I made sure I spoke to both to give a bit of encouragement. They both handled it all well.
