We had a wonderful time at the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History. Our group included our 2 year old son. He loved seeing the dinosaur and train exhibits. We spend a lot of time in the Discovery Room seeing all of the animals and interacting with the children s activities. It was a perfect rainy day family activity.

This is wonderful little museum! It s located just outside of college station. Your family is sure to love this wonderful museum. There are lots of cool creepy crawlers to see and tons of history to learn about. Our kids absolutely loved visiting this museum. We learned a lot about the wildlife in the Brazos river, Texas, and history of settlers. This is the perfect day outing to keep the kids (and yourself) occupied this summer! You will love all the rich history and interactive displays. Check ahead for hours of operation & you might want to call and make sure all exhibits are open beforehand. We went when 2 rooms were behind redone so we will need to go back to see those. Follow us on instagram @sc_crew_family

After doing a lot of research to try to find something to do with the family I found this museum. The website made it look huge. We pulled up and the building is huge. My sisters asked how long it will take.I said from the website and how big it looks a couple hours. The museum was small compared to what we thought it was. We were in and out in under 30 minutes. Now we went to heritage park which I believe is an extension of the museum and we had more fun at that. That took us over an hr and a half to get through and there was a knowledge, kind, funny actor there that answered our questions about things back then. We really enjoyed that part and will be back

As someone mentioned its not a big local museum but there are lots of info on different topics. They have rotating exhibits, at the time of my visit it was about origin of dogs, info on wolves and other canines. Small but interesting displays of rocks I enjoyed. Small reptile area, live beehive. There and here are small interactive areas for kids. And please dont moan about 5$ fee, its worth it. And donate if you able.

There was also nice rock collection and even ear letters with allot of war artifacts because in WW2 we were a prominent area for soldiers and were a crossing spot and a entrance or transportation for military. Plus there was allot more ocean artifacts and hope it went to Bush Museum.

Great building and grounds. Lots of staff. But woefully minimal content, haphazardly arranged. When compared to other local Texas museums weve visited, this one is poor. There are some interesting historical items, but not chronologically nor logically arranged to tell a story of the region. Nice but very old taxidermy on display. This museum lacks a clear mission, and is just a hodge-podge of old stuff donated. Sad.

Really awesome museum, they have a kids playroom type area with a fair amount of live animals and the COOLEST beehive that shows great detail in side. It s pretty amazing. It s my favorite part. They have a show room that changes every few months that is super informative and really neat artifacts in a room that looks like an office? Every first Tuesday is discount admission albeit admission is affordable otherwise. It s kinda small but you can kill a fair amount of time ( an hour or two) looking and learning; they also have cool stuff to look at outside and a nice spot to have a picnic. I come here every few months and I think it s totally worth it! Of the 5+ times I ve gone me and the kiddo are the only ones... one time there was a field trip and those kids were well behaved. 10/10 would reccomend for a fun activity.

Ok so there isn t any other Natural History Museum in College Station. So I guess it s better than nothing. It seriously is two rooms filled with a few things. They are cool things, but you pay five bucks to look at some pretty basic things that are found at every other museum. The best part is the little fish tank they have at the front in my opinion. Overall it s just kind of meh. It s ok, better than nothing I guess!
