My favorite childhood memory is my late father waking me up early on a Sunday morning to have breakfast with him at this place. We used to eat at this restaurant when it was El Torito in their own, standalone building in the 90 s and followed them when they moved to this location at the Days Inn. Every time my family visits from Houston, we stop here for breakfast - their refried beans and tortillas are addicting. I stopped here twice during our last visit and ordered 5 refried bean tacos to-go and I m sure the waitress thought I was crazy. I pray this place never goes out of business and maybe one day they can patent and sell their recipe Parking: The restaurant is located on the 1st floor west side of what used to be a Days Inn hotel. The hotel has closed down but the restaurant still operates out of the building and there is plenty of parking from what used to be the hotel.

Waste of my money! I take pride of my roots when it comes to our culture and Food when I speak about my hometown. but after today, I must say, I m disappointed with this restaurant, this was not authentic Mexican food. The food had no flavor, shredded cheese was queso dip, bean and cheese taco was water down taco, Gordita was hard as a rock, soup had no flavor, and entomatadas were disgusting. We all got really sick from this food.

Driving up, I thought a restaurant that is part of a hotel? First, no it isnt. Second, dont judge a book by its cover. Finally, AMAZING food! We got there at the end of breakfast, which for many restaurants means breakfast will not be up to par. That is not the case here. What a wonderful breakfast, their flour tortillas are some of the best out there. Stop by and give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

Best machacado I ve eaten in the US. The flour tortillas were delicious. Made fresh! Service is slow but there is a sign warning you. Everything is made to order and it is worth the wait. This is definitely a local restaurant and although it s located inside an old hotel, the restaurant is clean and staff is friendly.

Friendly staff, good service. Breakfast is good and they have menudo. Good serving size. They also offer water. Nice place for a small or big parties. I invite you to come over here, you will not regret!! Kid-friendliness: They have children chairs for toddlers. Wheelchair accessibility: It is easy for people with disabilities to get in. Terrible experience for breakfast took over 15 minutes for breakfast taco and still had the audacity of charging for my orange juice which I didn t even drink because I was waiting on my food. Waitress told me food was barely being prepared that I had to wait longer. I got up paid juice and left. Went elsewhere took 4 minutes same order. Thanks Emilia s on Elizabeth.

Food is great, Ive been eating here since I was child 20+ years. The place is a very mom and pop business and they have their regulars understandable. Its not the restaurants fault they have guests that feel entitled. We are all the same and spend our hard earned money probably more than they do. Some of us dont have to announce ourselves when we come in the building. Other than that food is always good

The only thing wrong with this place is the lack of knowing where it is. No signs at all except the one over the sidewalk that is hidden around the corner of a hotel. Locals probably know this, Im not a local. Slasa was to die for.

I took my dad for his Fathers Day meal and we loved it. Absolutely delicous food. The lemonade is powdered; I would have loved if it was actually made natural. There was a long wait time for the food to arrive but they do specify that theyre food is made fresh. Usually, at other restaurants Im able to finish my plate because they serve a small quantity of carne guisada; I actually had to take half of my food home which was beneficial, for later ;) The waitress was friendly and attentive as well as the host named Juan that came by to make sure we were enjoying our food. Great prices for the quantity of food. Overall, everything was excellent!

BEST dining experience while we were in this part of Texas. We drove all the way here for breakfast due to a local recommendation while we were staying on SPI and it was worth the 45 min drive. We got the Migas (best homemade flour tortilla i ve ever had in my life), the flour tortilla with butter (a must order!) and pancakes! Everything was super yummy but the Migas was the star of the show. Excellent coffee too. This is probably the only restaurant we would frequent often from our entire trip.

3 tables occupied, we ordered 2 egg dishes and weve been waiting for more than 20 minutes. The food is delicious, but its not possible for them to take that long. Its the first time I come and the place seems too sloppy, and very boring. The attention of the waitresses was very friendly. But I think the problem is in the kitchen and the owner of the place.
