Parking: We parked in the Palo Alto Battlefield National Historical Park lot. Then rode south. The only reason for moderate rating was wind, there is almost always some, this was around 20 mph right from the south. Trail is flat mostly with a gradual slopes at an overpass. Recommended activities

Its trail where you can walk, run, bike, fish and many other things. Its breathtaking to see the rising sun over the horizon glistening over the resaca.

The trail head was pretty easy to find. The trail itself might be better to do on a bike then on foot - between the signs its pretty straight and flat, without many trees or shade. The trail does connect to some other trails that go around some of the neighborhoods, which are a bit more fun/interesting for pedestrians.

While I will say I dont like public restrooms to begin with, the male restrooms was a total mess. But the trail look so nice, it goes on for so long, with nice views of the outdoors.

I love walking along this trail. I do it at different times of the day. It is safe and relatively well lit. But like anywhere, apply your sunscreen/insect repellant, depending on the time of day and take pepper spray. Be safe and enjoy the view and the screeching parrots.

Simply a Fantastic park that runs about 9 miles through town from north to south. It replaced an old rail road line that was in its place. Prior to the rail road being laid down it actually followed a historic trail that was once famously used by both American and Mexican Soldiers during the American/Mexican War over escalating conflicts over Texas. Today, the park cuts through a range of our beautiful local ecosystem of resacas, thorn brush, grass fields, and chaparral that exists all along the trail. Whether your there to beak sweat or to do some nature watching, youll be in for a treat. The trail is lined with local plants, birds, and aquatic life! Additionally, the trails are loaded with info stations that display photos and information related to the history, flora, and fauna that can be found all along this historic trail. Youll be surprised how quick youll be slicing through town utilizing the old direct rail path! Youll find trail users of all ages. The trail is equipped with lights that keep the trail lit up all night. All major intersections are lined with traffic lights to cater to the safety of trail users. And rest assured that youll find plenty of drinking fountains to keep you hydrated. Weather your in town visiting or your from town, this trail is well worth a visit!
