Clean, good parking, great views. This is an awesome place to go with family.and friends to swim and hang out. Toilets: There is restrooms nearby most areas. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed on leashes. We had a group next to us with a German Sheppard. Picnic area: Covered picnic areas with BBQ and trash cans are all over the park for ease of access.

This was our random plan to visit this place on June 22, 2024 but most of the spots for this lake was closed and we couldn t get good experience but only this spot. We couldn t get enough knowledge but hopefully we will visit again sometime in future.. We couldn t see at map any reason for road closed for this lake. Playground: Did not see playground because most of the spots were closed due to some amendments but we had no idea. Toilets: We did not at spot where we were able to go. Picnic area: Possible but most of the spots we couldn t enter

Did a 20 mile hike with my son. It was his final height to earn his BSA hiking merit badge. I would highly recommend caring extra water especially in the summertime. If youre doing the 12 mile trail this is definitely for hiking it is not a leisurely walk. But it was a fun and trying experience with a lot of good sites.

5 stars It was perfect for us and our pups first time at an actual beach area. Sea shells and beautiful rocks are easy finds! Quiet (even when it said busy time of day) ! Not any garbage, and we walked plenty, I only saw one piece of broken glass and, of course, picked it up. Absolutely will be one of my go-to spots. Toilets: At the end of the park (drive down as far as you can), there are actually real restrooms with real sinks and toilets Sign posted says no feet washing in sink Dog-friendliness: There was no one around, great place for your fur kids to swim, and do some exploring. I watched diligently for garbage or sharp stuff in water, saw nothing that would hurt our fur kid. **edited, went back (2 wks later, and found 2 fishing lures with hooks and broken glass. We grabbed a doggy bag and picked up everything we saw in our 5 hrs out there.** Picnic area: Great few spots with a couple charcoal grills around.

Beautiful location. Large rocks could be cleared a little better from the beach area. The view is great. I think people could clean up after theyre pets better. There could be more enforcement of that. The rest of us dont like walking in poop. Toilets: Not the cleanest Dog-friendliness: People do not clean up after pets.

The three star rating is only temporary. The water shortage and drought have a lot to do with it, but Stillhouse Lake is not what it used to be. Playground: Did not see one, but they do have a couple of nature viewing areas places to eat a picnic and a boat ramp.

Was like a dream! So beautiful and serene! I dont think it should cost the public to visit a park but thats just my opinion. $5 isnt awful but it should be good for longer than a day for out of towners like myself. Any more than $5 and I wouldnt have stayed. Theres too many free parks

The app for paying sucks. This is a park, im not used to parks being flat land, especially when you can find flat land anywhere in TX. There are fish here! I didnt catch any, and didnt see anyone cstch any. But there was a lot of activity. Its a good place for boating and the water looks clean. Bank fishing can be rough, you gotta find a break in the weeds.

I was at this spectacular place 2 years ago! I came back this week, but due to the intense summer, the lake is practically dry. There s no place to swim, and where there s water, there s a lot of mud, making swimming impossible. We just grilled meat, had lunch, and headed back home!

The water has definitely receded and they re having an alligator problem but I did not see any while I was there. The water beneath your feet. You will feel a lot of mud and grass or plant life. Outside of that you can enjoy the lake as normal. There are life vest by the building before you start walking towards the lake.

Well i couldnt find a way to pay 1st off.. scanned the QR code and even downloaded the dang app and still couldnt figure it out .. Im just not computer savvy.. so i wont be back as i dont need trouble.. 2nd water level is quite low tried getting in the water but hell no you sink in the mud. Pass your ankles lil fishes dead that didnt make it to the water.. i pray we get so much rain all can enjoy and that i can figure out how to pay online ... Attended an event on Sunday September 11th. Beautiful lake but it really needs some rain. The swimming beach was closed...drat. The pavilion was very nice and we had a good time. Id love to go back. With a small rowboat along for the ride! Or a canoe maybe.

Clean park, great for swimming. The water is clean and there is a shower with restrooms. Hiking trails, basketball court, volleyball nets, plenty of picnic areas and it is clean! Also, this place was not that crowded and I think people have underrated this location but it is beautiful. Did I mention the water was not cold in the lake? It was warm. You can fish, go paddle boarding, boat ride, or just enjoy the water. There was plenty of park rangers and sheriffs making their rounds. Also, Chalk Ridge Falls is just across the lake.

I fear that by putting a 5 star, this will help this park be more well known. The lake is awesome for swimming and kayaking. There is a mini-island that you can swim to and explore. Can t say that about any of the other awesome lakes like Canyon Lake, Lake Georgetown. The water is warmer than Lake Georgetown, which is warmer than Canyon Lake. People may be a little bit more working class, but that s what makes this a chill spot. I love Emma Long and all the other amazing Austin spots, but Stillhouse Park is probably one of the more under the radar places. I say this as a lifelong Round Rocker / Cedar Parkan. This part of Central Texas is calmer, and more to my taste.

Its a beautiful lake. I grew up having my birthday here every year when I was younger. I took my kids every year as often as possible. But we didnt go last year because of all the gross sea weed like grass that over took most of the water, it felt and smelt gross. We tried once again this year, we all wore swimming shoes yet my daughter tripped and got cut severely and it smelt even worse than last year. People have destroyed my beautiful charished lake. We will not be back and we live very close to the entrance for the lake yet would prefer to drive elsewhere now. Shame on those who bring glass to the lake.

Beautiful Lake and park. A lot of parking and shaded picnic tables. I edited the stars given and am adding negative comments to this. Reading the Corps of Engineer Park rules and Regs online, It states metal detecting is authorized on the lake beaches AND developed areas in the park. I guess each park has its own rules because the rude custodian of this park (the one on the ATV) has twice confronted me. The first time being for me metal detecting around the picnic areas, and the second time for metal detecting on the beach when the lake levels were low and a small 8 x 11 sign on a barricade said beach closed. I wasn t there to lay on the beach!!

Staff was friendly. Veteran friendly. Fun place to go for the kids. If you wear shoes to the water be cautious. There are some areas where your feet get stuck and if you are wearing water shoes the suction takes them off. Goes without saying but watch out for debris. Lots of visitors leaving trash behind and in the water.

Love this park! I have been here for a cook out under the shelter, and for a kayaking trip with friends! The boat launch is spacious and clean, and there is plenty of parking nearby. We had a great time kayaking around, and there was a beautiful view. It was a nice day and the lake wasnt too crowded.
