We went and tried this place for the first time ever. I do not live in the area and dont know anything about this place. I have driven by it multiple times over the years while working in the area. I just know its a big place and sometimes it seems to be pretty busy with a lot of cars in the parking lot. Im just gonna be honest here. It was okay but nothing special. My wife wanted to try the chicken fajitas, so we did. It was an average portion size. To me, the chicken lacked seasoning. It wasnt bland, but it wasnt seasoned well either. When you put all the toppings on the fajita taco, you wont taste it because all the other flavors mesh together. When I tried the meat by itself, it was a different story. The flour tortillas seem to be homemade. The chips and salsa were good. The rice and beans are reminded me of old school Tex Mex. Its a huge place with good decor. They were showing the Astros game and also NFL football games. You get free ice cream on the way out. I thought the server was decent. He was attentive. I just dont understand when you tell somebody you never been therefore that they dont care more about that part of it. The server never asked how our experience was. Not a big deal to me, but if it were my restaurant, I would want to know what my new customers thought about my first visit. The staff were friendly throughout the restaurant. we got lots of smiles and hellos when we walked in. We were also giving a friendly farewell.

Every single time I order a togo something is missing. People just don t care anymore. Onions were raw for fajitas and not even grilled. Side of sour cream was in the same cup as the pico and it was all mixed together. El Toro has always been good the problem is the people that just don t care about putting a tiny more effort for quality.

The red sauce was good today, must have been a different recipe, we tried the birria egg rolls and they were pretty good, my girlfriend had the seafood enchiladas and said they were fantastic, I had the shreaded chicken chimi and it was good as well. Our sever was very nice and she was helpful and attentive.

So I ordered one drink for myself.Inside mixed drink My granddaughter wanted to go outside by the waterfall so we did I decided to buy a drink with a couple sitting near us. And I ordered a second drink from myself. Some woman came out. Asked me how many drinks Ive had why I was getting 3 more. After I told the waitress it was for the couple next to me. Apparently you cant just buy a drink for someone and a restaurant anymore. Sad how times have change. Go out to eat stay at your table.Dont talk to anybody and leave real Quick

I was brought here by some coworkers and arrived a little later than the rest of my group so I missed out on appetizers. I ordered the taco dinner with shredded chicken but got the beef instead. Best drinks ever, I love the salsa and the chips. Didnt like much being placed next to a table that was so loud I couldnt hear myself talking. Also, the noise of the chairs being dragged was not good at all. They started cleaning while we were still there and it made me feel like when I go to my tias house and she stars sweeping, pretty much telling you to leave already..lol

Stopped in for lunch today. Very nice Mexican restaurant somewhat off the beaten path of I-10 Citualy, the table server, brought chips and salsas with a BIG smile. Rachel, our server, was attentive and prompt with taking our margarita order while we looked over the menu. TASTY MARGARITAS, btw! I had the Siete lunch menu choice which was a crispy, beef taco and cheese enchilada, refried beans and Spanish rice along with a small queso. The enchilada was covered in a tasty red gravy meat sauce and it was so good. The beef taco was served with good with fresh shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes. Wonderfully fresh greens! Plus the beef stayed hot throughout my meal, not lukewarm. Oh, and their green tomatillo salsa is so good! Another super, nice touch was a quick check-in from the restaurant manager to inquire of our experience. Awesome! We will be back for future lunch/dinner.

About a week ago, my wife and I wanted to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary together with our kids and grandkids. We had planned to go to the west coast and watch the Astros play, but feeling a little guilty about not celebrating with the family we changed our plans. We can always follow the Astros to watch them play out of town at another time. Also, we were celebrating my daughter-in-law birthday. Due to the boys work schedule, it s always hard to get all the family together. With that being said, we decided to stay close to home instead of going to Houston, because some of the kids had to work the next day. We were looking for a restaurant that could accommodate all of us. El Toro on Garth had a back room, away from the normal seating section that would be nice, close to home. So, my wife called and made reservations two weeks in advance to sit in the back room. They said we were good to go! We left for the restaurant early to make sure everything was good to go, needless to say when we got there the seating lady told us the room was full with two parties. Jana explained to her we made reservations two weeks in advance, so the waitress said let me get my manager. The manager explained to us if you don t pay to reserve the room that they couldn t guarantee we would get tables in the back room when we got there. When we made reservations no one explained that to her, which wouldn t have been a problem. The look on her face just broke my heart!! I was pretty mad at this point, I really let the manager have it, explaining to him he didn t understand this was a special day for us, our forty year Wedding Anniversary, then he said we could put you in the bar section. Wow, eight little grandkids along with their parents, along with my wife and me, packed in the bar area! What a way to celebrate a special day! That wasn t going to happen. Finally, leaving the restaurant, my wife was upset crying, asking me what were we going to do! Remember this was not only our special day, but we were going to celebrate one of our daughter-in-law s birthday! As I was backing out to leave the restaurant the manger was standing at the passenger side of the car. Jana rolled down the window, the manager said we could put you on the patio. It was raining at the time, we said that s OK we re leaving. So we called all the kids, telling them to met us at Olive Garden. Hopefully, this would work out for the best of a bad situation. At this time, I was praying for some divine intervention to help us with this situation. As we walked into Olive Garden along with all the kids and grandkids, bags of gifts and two cakes and bunch of hungry grandkids, My wife was explaining to the manger what had happened. The manager said we had a back section of the restaurant y all could use, but it would take about 20 minutes to set up. Also, it was shift change at the restaurant so they needed to ask a couple of waiters to stay over to help serve our party. We had the whole back section of the restaurant, two fantastic waiters, one taking care of the grandkids and the other one taking care of the adults. I can t say enough about how Olive Garden made our evening special! Several times I have driven by El Toro on Garth, every time I see the sign my anger resurfaces knowing I probably won t ever eat there again. Here again there s a great restaurant down the street from El Toro that has fantastic food and a great group people that can make your day special!!! I can t thank the manager enough for how hard she worked to make our day a special one!

Have not been to this location in a long time. My go to was the location off decker however, I am pleased with this service to where I will definitely be coming back. The Manager on duty Scott was incredibly wonderful. He saw my family and I waiting for our table. We did have a big party but that did not stop him on making sure we were all able to be seated together in a comfortable area. Our waiter Donald has outstanding customer service. He consistently checked in on everyone at my table as well as the other tables around us. Most waiters would show exhaustion due to so many people they would be serving, but Donald was wonderful and provided us excellent customer service. Vanessa the hostess was also a big help with making sure my table was good and even brought us some refills. The food came out on time and all together. Freshly made and hot. I can see how much the staff has changed. I have not seen anyone at this location not doing their job. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!! Kid-friendliness: This is a family function restaurant and kids love it here. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a entrance to get on the side walk as well as the entrance to the front door.

Update: they no longer have the happy hour bingo and have very limited happy hour items now, please bring that back! Updated happy hour menu added. The drinks are still good. The service started declining. The entire menu has changed as well. Seems like less items to me. We started going to Julia s instead of here so don t come often anymore. I ll leave my original notes below for historical. Haven t been for brunch in forever, after trying nearly the entire brunch menu, menu is just a little limited, been going to Arandas for more selection and better prices. Always delicious drinks and food. The happy hour is game where you get a free queso if you buy all 4 squares in a row vertical, horizontal, or diagonal. We never knew that until a sweet server told us. Their brunch is amazingly delicious! We try to go often for brunch and have tried many things on the brunch menu. All made with the best ingredients and served plated beautifully. I do feel like the French toasts should come with a choice of breakfast meat though. The chicken enchiladas are so dry tonight and cold because they said we were waiting on our corn??? Terrible service tonight too. Waited 25 min for our food and 10 min for chips and salsa?? What s happening here?

Im pretty picking about restaurants like this. Im gonna say, they have the best burgers in Baytown! I know people dont come here to eat burgers, but find me a better burger in baytown. You cant and wont. If you want great service ask for Rachel. The sampler appetizer is amazing! If you want some good hot sauce, youll have to ask for it. I cant remember the name of it, but its got good flavor and is HOT! I usually dont like other peoples rice unless its my moms, sisters or wifes, but their rice is good. We used to go here a lot years ago but we moved further north, we decided to Drive to Baytown and visit one of our old favorites. We were disappointed because also we arrived there at 8:45. We did not know they close at nine on Thursday. So it was close to closing time so we asked for a couple of bar drinks and we had to tell the waiter that they never brought them so he rushed and brought them right away and then the other thing was the food took 45 minutes to come out, I was A bit shocked for the time they took it was not busy, but I guess it was busy time to clean, So we ordered the trio Fajitas expecting it to come out sizzling like it usually does and nope it looks like it havd been sitting there for quite a few minutes before the foodrunner brought it out, I think our food was forgotten because the tortillas were cold, Well, we still left the waiter a tip, but we were disappointed

4 of us met for lunch. Food was excellent with good sized portions, (I had the Pollo Ixtapa). The chips were crisp and fresh, the sauces were good. Service was okay, the room was very loud and the server did not speak up so it was difficult to understand her. Went with a couple of co-workers to have a couple of drinks for ladies night The waitress that we had every time we asked her something she either didnt know or wouldnt even try to get the answer. She explained that happy hour prices were cheaper than ladies night prices so that we ladies will get a discount after happy hour if they wanted something. When I got the bill I noticed that she charged me wrong I wanted the drinks she said oh I must have keyed it too fast she repaired it but then Im looking at the final bill and theres three different charges that make no sense a food tax fee a mixed drink fee and a packaging fee and the packaging fee is because I asked for something to go. I have never seen these fees cuz the fees add up to the $3 that I was overcharged for the drink so it doesnt make sense and then when they brought me a manager to speak with the manager just kept saying Im sorry I go youre sorry does not fix the issue! The other locations do not have that charge this was the one on Garth and I am not going back because the people who work there do not work for the customers.

We arrived after lunch,so not super busy. Monday, May 13th around 1 oclock. Walked in and the hostess ( I believe her name was Jessica) did not acknowledge us at all. Turned her back and dealt with a stack of menus for a bit. Still has not welcomed my mother and I. No welcome in or Ill be right with you . Then she grabs 2 menus and starts to walk into dining room ( still saying nothing or even looking at us ). So we are still standing there and she finally turns around and just looks at us, still no smile, words. I looked at her and said Im sorry, are we following you? Because so far you have not even said hello or would you like a table or a booth? When I asked if we could have a booth, she said we dont have any open. We could literally see 2 open booths. She then said I guess I can look. She returned, grab 2 menus and we followed her to booth. She puts menus on table and walks off. My family has been eating at El Toro since the original Baytown location was opened. We are very friendly, nice people. This was my 84 year old mothers lunch for Mothers Day (she likes the day after due to less crowds). It was so bad, I asked to speak with a manager. Not sure of his name, thin Hispanic with glasses. He was very nice. I dont know if theyve had a management change or what but the vibe of the restaurant just wasnt the same. Our food took longer than ever which didnt make sense because the restaurant was not crowded at all. My mother is a sweet woman and El Toro is her favorite place to eat. She said something has changed here, there isnt a good feeling anymore. Maybe thats why nobody is here? Word of advice to the owners from customers who have been with you since 1960s...employees can destroy your business. They represent you. This young person is the first person people see when entering your business. From one business owner to another...she is not a good fit! Sad day for these die hard El Toro customers...

First time dining in. Searching for great Mexican food? This is the restaurant to visit. The outside entrance is a welcoming sight presented with beautiful fountain. Then you see the restaurant farther down. Wow. Friendly atmosphere. Food you must try. Service is prompt. Beef and chicken enchiladas and rice and beans, delicious.

I cant think of enough great things to say about this place other than: every time I have visited to Baytown over the past couple of years (about 15 times) I have made a trip into El Toro Mexican Restaurant. The bartenders are great! The food is fantastic! The pricing is pretty good too! The drinks are off the charts! I have never had anything that I did not love at El Toro. I will return every single time I am in, or around, the Baytown area!

5 stars isnt even enough stars for this restaurant. I would give it ALL the stars in the sky if I could. Hands down the absolute BEST place to dine in. From the great service; to the AMAZING beef fajitas; to the personal patio tour we got from David, the Manger, and last but definitely not least the free self serve ice cream machine, in 2 flavors and a swirl!!!!! The food is decent, and Im not going to bash but just getting sick of paying so much for so little. I am sick of being overcharged for alcohol and sick of paying the salaries of people working for companies making millions of dollars. Almost 44.00 for the little bit of food we ordered is ridiculous. I asked for a well vodka and soda and was charged 7.50 for Absolut, which is not well. The bill was texted to me, and I didnt look at it until I got home that evening. I called to discuss this with management, and a very pleasant young lady asked how she could help me have a memorable experience or something to that effect. I asked if I could speak to a manager, and she placed me on hold for a few minutes. The phone was picked up and hung up. I tried to call back 3 times, and they refused to answer. So yeah, way to make a memorable experience. I am sure it wont put you out of business by any stretch, but they wont see another one of my dollars. I am so tired of paying exorbitant prices, expected to pay 18% or more to their slave labor, and then act like I am unimportant.
