Shogun s in Baytown was the single worst dining experience I ve had in memory. We skipped lunch deciding on an early dinner instead. The restaurant was not busy, but it took a very long time for our waitress to take our order. We had their fried calamari as an appetizer, and it was the most rubbery calamari I ve ever had almost impossible to chew. The soup and salad were mediocre at best. My chicken was overcooked and hard, and my vegetables inedible. The rice and noodles were good, however. In the future I will opt for the Jack-in-the-Box next door at least their crappy food is cheap.

Start off by saying great restaurant. Food is always fresh and delicious. Never had a bad experience here. Service is always great. Staff is overly accommodating. Last night after a horrible experience at another restaurant, we decided to head home, hungry and annoyed, we decided to try here, we don t normally drag our younger kids in here because they usually won t eat anything. Everything was great. Kids even ate the onion soup and ginger salads.

I ordered through doordash, spent around 70$ for soup to be missing from my order. Hair in my food, and the worse shaggy dog I have ever eaten. They must have a new cook because I have never had this issues before with them. I asked door dash to give me a refund and so far they keep refusing.

For a shogun, this experience was super disappointing. We expected that our hibachi was going to be a show like every other hibachi place weve been. Instead, the chef seemed ready to leave. We also ordered sushi, and our was poorly made as well. When you spend 125 for 2 people to eat or should be worth it. We will likely not be back.

Me and my husband want to eat in hibachi buut foods are too mucb and we cant finish it. So we opt to eat on a regular booth. Which thats what ive notice all the time foods arw cold and aweful. Theyalso dont have hot green tea. Inwas expecting rhey will have warm or hot drinks cuz its winter but no they dont have it. Steam Rice is very good.

I went with a family group. Spring/Cypress location. We waited patiently for our food. It took longer than expected. The waitress was not attentive or nice. She would not go to each person to serve. She stood at the end of the table and expected us to hand her our glasses and plates were passed amount us to hand to her. That was rude. The food was good but when you have bad customer service, it ruins the meal. 290 west location

Super, awesome, and great service. The food was very good, but dont order the plain sushi ( it comes with the meat on plain white rice) with no spices or anything. The sushi rolls are totally different. They are super delicious. Awesome sport bar with sports games running on TV on walls. Great place to dine, The restrooms needs to be cleaned, not very clean restrooms. I like the napping area in the back behind the last Hibachi grill in the back where the employees were napping after a hard day of work. i was going to join them for a nap. I would 100% go back again for the awesome food and awesome service.

This is a sturdy Shogun location. The staff is always chipper and helpful, and the prices on most of the food items are very reasonable. I think their sushi is priced especially fairly, and for good quality. I eat here on the regular, at least once a month, and Ive never been disappointed and always feel like Ive gotten my moneys worth. Vegetarian options: Definitely some options that could be made vegetarian, but I wouldnt purposely come here for a vegetarian meal.

Such fun to see the chef table cook. Kids always enjoy the show. The cooks are animated and fun. The food is delicious but pricy at dinner; come at lunch for still pricy but better pricing. You can also dine on the other side and eat the same foods without the show. Lunch comes out pretty quick. The carrot ginger salad dressing is so delicious to me.

I walked in at 2:50. Unaware they were different lunch/dinner menu, but the hostess gave me a lunch menu. The server came and took it from me and said lunch is over at 3. I feel they should have honored the error or handled it nicer. She literally just took the menu from me and said no. The food was decent, it was fresh and hot. The yum yum sauce was different, overall it s a good hibachi place, but I feel there are better options in the area.

My family of five and one of my son s friends decided to dine at Shogun for the first time since we recently moved to Baytown. We sat at the Hibachi grill, ordered multiple rolls and entrees off the Hibachi menu. Once we left, we went to the Walmart next to the restaurant. My son s friend started talking about his stomach hurting and went to the bathroom. About five minutes later, my wife starts to complain she doesn t feel good. Next were my two boys, so we ended our need to pick some things up from Walmart and head home. Before we get home, I had to pull over and let the boys puke in the middle of the road in the neighborhood. We battled food poisoning all night. We called to let the manager know on our way home and she said we had to go see a doctor and call back tomorrow. I called this morning and she said well what is it that you want? I said ma am, I think it would be the right thing to do to reimburse the meal for those who got sick. The only exception was my daughter who only ate noodles. She told me that there needed to be proof and to take it up with insurance. I wish there was a negative review because one star isn t worth it. We will never be back.

The prices dont match the quality nor quantity. Its actually backwards, but first Ill say that the service was good, no complaints, everything i asked for came to me. Place looked clean and presentable. About the food: I paid for 2 $10 sushi rolls. Particularly the Tiger Eye (5 pieces) looked awfully prepared. As you can see (its the all white one) had more rice than actual sushi, not rolled tightly, very small (when stacked together its measures 5 inches) uneven cutting, and overall horrible presentation. Definitely not worth $10. After taking a bite, it was tasteless. My $5.95 California roll (8 pieces) was bigger, thicker, basically more stuffing than rice and tasted as expected considering its a basic roll. Though, The $10 sushi looks more like it shouldve been the $6.95 sushi rolls. I also got the $10 spider roll (5 pieces) and it also had more rice than stuffing, though it was rolled tighter. If it wasnt for the soft shell crab, it wouldnt be a $10 plate. This one at least tasted better. These shouldve came with more pieces not only 5 for the price your paying. I asked the manager to exchange the Tiger Eye for a Philadelphia roll $6.95. The Philadelphia roll was amazing! So glad the manager was willing to exchanged them. Overall Ill probably come back in hopes that I get food that matches the price. Looking around the room other customers sushi rolls looked more grandiose than mine. I think that whoever made mine was just an isolated case. Therefore I give this place 3 stars.

Does anyone else remember when this was a Hibachi restaurant? Now, apparently its a Teppanyaki restaurant, which basically means the same thing as Hibachi. I looked up other Hibachi restaurants and they too are now referring to themselves as Teppanyaki. Did we slip into an alternate time line? Is this some kind of Mandela effect? But yeah, Shoguns is Shoguns, good food, good service. This one would score higher if they would relocate their office from directly in the front, right behind the host station, it just looks tacky, like youre entering through the back, where they take deliveries, or something.

But I had to give a lower star rating for the following reasons: -Took 4 adults, a 6 yr old and a 4 month old charged us 18% tip (kid didnt get own plate and baby didnt) - its a hit and miss with the wait staff - went with friends (2 separate checks) tried to charge 18% tip. Waitress didnt check on us, she didnt clear. She stated she was busy but they werent that busy. I get the tip on big groups. But it should be based on how much the wait staff actually has to work and if its all on 1 check .

Came in and was told they were cleaning out a booth and I would be next to get the booth. 5 minutes later another couple walks in and they give the booth to them. I was clearly standing there first and there to be seen with my 8 months pregnant belly. Will never go back. Also the hibachi side has very slippery floors and is an accident waiting to happen. Food is average at best. Save your money and go elsewhere.

So glad we found this place! We relocated to SETX a little over a year ago and hadn t tried any sushi place around here yet. Shogun is where it s at! Totally suggest getting the Shaggy Dog roll, we constantly crave this now. Also, their fried rice is delicious.

I tried this location for the first time today with a friend that suggested it before heading to a concert. It was nicer than I expected inside, and quite clean. The waitress was very attentive, and very nice. Service was in a timely manner from the time of being seated to the delivery of our food to the table. I tried their soup, salad, and crab puffs to start. All of these were great! My entree was the chicken and steak teriyaki with vegetables and fried rice. The food was phenomenal, and so filling. I couldn t finish it all I was so stuffed. This was a perfect experience from start to finish. I can t wait to go back to visit this restaurant again! Great job!

The curtain in the door between the kitchen and dining room is absolutely nasty with filth and stains. Everyone and I mean everyone touches that curtain. Your food also touches the curtain. Otherwise I had a great experience. Love my waitress. The food was good. But will walk out next time if the curtain is still there.

The entire restaurants floor was greasy enough that you slid while in place. Laziness on the staffs part to use the same mop from the kitchen on the show floor. Our cook didnt bother to read the card and forgot my kids meat two times and he got the doneness wrong on all of our filets. Also it looks like the filets are ALOT smaller than other hibachi places I have been to.
