Only went once. Service was almost the worst I have ever had. I wasnt greeted and had to wait. I can always understand a wait if it is busy, but we were the only two non-employees. Several employees saw us and not a word. Finally seated by catering staff, well that is what she told us. A lady came out and asked us what we wanted to drink, no greeting or smile. No mention of specials. When we asked questions we got a blank stare like we were idiots. Cold food came out warm, hot food came out room temp, bread was tough. We ate, paid and left. Talked to the owner and she basically denied her staff would act that way. Offered to pay for us to come back. The gesture was odd. Ive heard of comping partial meals or a Gift card to return, but asking a patron to come back and announce they are there for their free meal because the establishment dropped the ball was just odd. I had been ordering their chicken salad for years and have probably had their sandwiches 35-40 times. Catering or take-out is their strong suit, I believe, as our lunch that day consisted of both and they were mediocre. If I was to give a review on the previous food quality it would be a 5 star no doubt. Unfortunately, I have not ordered take-out or taken the owner up on her offer since that day. I know THAT sounds odd because of my many great experiences, but that one experience really turned me off. On top of that, my 12 year old daughter had been asking me, for a few months, to get dressed up and go. As a single Father, to see her disappointment really did change my whole attitude towards the Mustard Seed.

When I walked in no one was here, I had to walk into the kitchen after 3 minutes of just standing in the walkway trying to figure out what to do. The sandwich s are great I will admit, but if you get a dip it s just sour cream with a powder packet in it. Nothing special. They also don t mix it well so you ll just get a chip with just sour cream. The service was terrible. They were not happy they had a guest at all. Mind you I came in well before they were closing so there was no excuse.

My boyfriend brought me here on a date . It was so good that we came back the next day. The atmosphere of this restaurant is ecclectic and beautiful! I loved all the fresh flowers and colors. I also love that this is a Christian based mother and daughter restaurant. I had the tomato basil soup, cheese burger soup, and sampled my boyfriend s cheese broccoli soup. That tomato soup is NOT from a can and is SO good. I ordered faith , which gives you a sample of chicken salad, tuna salad, and pimento cheese sandwiches, a cup of soup (served in an adorable tea cup!) and a salad. Their dressings are even homemade. We will be back!

Most people have been to this kind of a restaurant where it s very very niche. It is a wonderful place to come and have a peaceful meal. The restaurant theme here is faith, the service demonstrates this. The food is simple, light, and filling with wonderful flavors. It s easy to pick anything from the menu and know it s gonna be good.

The food was good but the service was terrible. It was a good concept since Im Christian, but I dont think well be back. The waitress didnt acknowledge us when we walked in, tell us where to sit or even bring us a bill. She had to be waved down to even pay! There were literally 2 other tables there other than ours. Then in the middle of taking our order she walked off to talk to someone else that walked in, which was really rude. She brought us an extra container of tea and that was the only time she came to the table other than to bring our food. Everyone that we saw that worked there acted like they didnt want to be there. Our waitress was lucky to get what she did for a tip and she only got the amount she did because she was watching the screen the whole time. My suggestion: hire better waitresses. I dont understand how you guys got the rating that you did...

The service was very good. The tomato basil soup was delicious. The sandwiches were ehhh. The chicken salad tasted mostly of mayonnaise. The tuna salad was good, and the pimento cheese was good. The problem with the sandwiches was the bread is very thick in comparison to the filling (chicken salad, tuna salad, or pimento cheese). When asking for a dessert on the menu, we were given a storage bowl with dessert crammed in it. Kinda weird. If they would put more filling on the bread, it would be great. I plan to return to try the casseroles and salads. Oh, almost forgot, the restaurant is decorated perfectly. Its very tastefully and colorfully decorated.

Honestly I had no clue the restaurant was here, I thought it was just a clothing store. It reminded me of a Tea Room cute little foods and such ya know the dreamy little place for the ladies to meet up to chit chat, the place to take your daughter making her feel all grown up... UNTIL I saw several men come in to eat or pick up to go meals. I had a panini sandwich and my Son I believe soup, salad & sandwich sampler. We both enjoyed the place very much, however I felt a little pricey for everyday, but a great place for a special day.

I will say that the food I received was delicious. I ordered through Grubhub and when I got my food I was missing my pasta salad and honey mustard dressing. It was nice of you guys to provide a cup of ice for my can of soda which I really appreciated. Other than that I can t complain. Will have to come in and eat another time.

Excellent little spot for a private brunch. We needed a spot to celebrate our grandmas 88th birthday. The owner squeezed us in even though she normally doesnt offer an early booking. Shes a sweet lady makes you feel like family. Food was tasty and fresh. I havent been during normal restaurant hours but I here its nice. Went to Mustard Seed with mother in law and wife for Mothers Day. Mother in law loved it but there were no gluten free items for the wife but she was able to work around it. Food was tasty, but portions are small and thats to be expected at a tea room. We were the only one in the restaurant and that was nice as well.

Looks like a cute place, it could very well be a 4 or 5 star place. However the hours are unrealistic. I would love to bring my daughter here but they are not open on the weekends and they close before the kids get out of school. Maybe a suggestion would be to stay open until at least 4 during the week if they wont be open on the weekends.

Quaint, comfortable restaurant with a variety soups and sandwiches. They have a soup with boudin in it that should not be missed. The chicken salad with grapes and almonds is very good and a popular choice with restaurant goers. I will definitely be going back.

I bring my daughter to lunch here for special girl time with just her. She loves the decorations and the girly dishes; sometimes they even loan her a super cute hat to wear. The food is DELICIOUS and they have several different flavors of tea. The owner is very friendly and helpful when making selections. The waitresses sometimes arent very knowledgable about what is in the food when you ask but the owner is always ready to answer. The only negative is sometimes it can take a loooong time to check out, and when you are on a work lunch break that can be bad. Also they arent the quickest with drink refills. 7-6-2015 Updated - I think this place is going downhill. I ordered the Faith, I think it is (sandwiches, soup, salad), and I expected white bread on the sandwiches like usual but instead got three different kinds of dried out and stale bread. Once when being served, our waitress set my plate down and then licked her finger where she had gotten salad dressing on her finger, sorry but that grossed me out. The owner seems disconnected the last few times I have dined here and they arent very quick about anything. We waited last time to order drinks for over 10 minutes.
