I had a terrible experience at the service department at Big Star GMC service department. I brought my car in for a routine oil change and some minor maintenance, but what should have been a quick visit turned into a nightmare. Once they got to my car, I was told it would take about an hour. Three hours later, I was told my vehicle had some engine problems. My vehicle was at the dealership for approximately 3-4 weeks. When I asked about the delay, the staff seemed disorganized and didn t have any clear answers. I was also charged for the rental and they haven t refunded my money. When I finally received my car, I noticed the vehicle wasn t washed, which hadn t been an issue before (My prepaid plan included a car wash). I brought this to their attention, but they brushed it off, saying it was unrelated. Overall, the lack of communication, poor service, and the additional problems caused by their work left me frustrated. I won t be returning to Big Star GMC for any future services.

This dealership needs to learn how to answer the phone. Ive been trying to call . Took my truck already like three or four times for the check. Engine light charging. Pretty good money and still not fixed. Now Im trying to call them back and dont answer the phone. Go straight to voicemail. Somebody needs to get a better phone in there or get somebody to answer the phone

Not a place to send your vehicle for any mechanical work. Took a my truck because I figured since it s a GMC what better place to take than the actual GMC dealership. They got with the extended warranty company and told me them truck would be done in 2 weeks. It s been longer than that so I went to the actual dealership and was told that the part is in back or and that they don t have any idea when it will get there. I call the extended warranty and ask if there s something I can do cause I don t have transportation. And they told me that the dealership never told them that the part was in back order. So here I am with no transportation and no help from anyone. And my vehicle is still sitting at the dealership.

Damian was my sales rep for purchasing a vehicle.. don t really recommend him. The vehicle I purchased was a 50k car. Upon doing the walk around, I found a few paint chips and windshield repairs that needed to be done, was promised I would have this repaired. I also found that the car had a dent on the side, but was not advertised with a dent on the car, nor on the CARFAX. Damian said the odds would be very low to have it fixed. It s a simple paintless dent removal that should be honored due to the fact it was not listed with dents on their site. Contacting the direct office has been very difficult; I call the office sales, repair and all numbers listed and cannot seem to get thru. It appears I can t even seem to coordinate the repairs I was promised because of this! I m hoping for a resolution. Someone please please please contact and resolve this issue. Update: I was able to speak to the manager after days worth of texting the sales rep in request in getting ahold of the manager, and finally discussed options for the dent in the side. We discovered the dealership had service outages due to inclement weather. I am still hoping for the best resolution. Update. I picked up my car after a week of trying to get updates, and did not have a satisfying reaction when i picked it up. It s very hard to reach anyone here, and the sales rep acted very carelessly the entire process. He was never informed of anything and would shrug saying he doesn t know.They replaced my windshield but used an aftermarket one, so they do not put OEM ones. They left the entire interior very dirty when doing repairs they could have at least wiped it down. They did pop out the dent but not entirely. The paint was very very poorly done. There was cat prints all over the car, so they take bad care of your cars. It had more mileage than when I dropped it off. One of my PSI tires was also low at pick up! The sales rep asked me when I would pick it up, and said he would put gas in it. Knowing that I was coming, they should have took care of the mentioned issues. They do not give complimentary washes. The experience was very frustrating, and I tried to keep a positive attitude the entire process. I would definitely say Damian needs to be more informed in any process during cases like this, and have better communication with management , customers, and repair guys.it seems like he made the sale and suddenly became careless. I wish I would have had a different sales guy get the commission instead. I understand he s young, but he s in a business where people need answers, and require customer service. I won t be purchasing from here again. I attached some pics, not all, but I had already tried to dust off the car, when I realized I should have pictures to update my review. But here you go, just for an idea. I only have it 2 stars cus the manager was cool and understanding the one time I talked to him.

Horrible maintenance service, I have a 2024 GMC Acadia AT4, it has only been purchased for 1 month and it has already started to have problems with the left light, I spoke to the dealer and they asked me to leave the car for 3 days, I asked them if they would give me any car rent and they tell me no, how am I going to leave them a car for x days when I have to pick up and take my son to school every day. I talk to them to give me solutions and they only give me problems, horrible, cancel all the warranties I bought with them, total theft

Scheduled an appointment to have my ac repaired. They ve had it for 2 1/2 days. Can t get an answer by phone. Only told it hasn t been diagnosed yet. Had to drive down there for answers. Was told we should know something in a couple of hours. When I first walked in to get answers in person and told them they have had my truck for 2 full days. They said only 2 days. That just set wrong with me. Just due to the service department I will never buy a vehicle from them again

Service sucks very bad here I took my truck here for repairs they told me it was a sensor that the sensor was not backed order and still took 2 weeks to get it they called me and told me my truck is ready for pickup I paid 300$ for the sensor and once I left the lot did the u turn and took it right back to them check engine light came back on and looks like they never repaired the first reason it when in for this place sucks really bad

My mom put my car in the shop last week and I was supposed to head back up to college days ago but can t because I have no car. I ve been calling everyday to follow up but the power has been out which is understandable. However, I tried calling nearly 20 different times today and no one answered at all. Don t Trust On 6/28/24 I took my vehicle in for an oil change since I had bought the Advantage Care during my first service. While I was waiting on the service, I went to the finance department to inquire about an extended warranty with Fernando. He instructed me I would need to talk to one of the other gentlemen in the other two offices. I waited for around 20-30 minutes and Fernando invited me back in to his office. I stated I had a Denali with 19k miles on it that I would like to get an extended warranty for. He told me since I am a couple of months past the manufacturer warranty, they would need me to schedule to bring my truck back for a 3 day detailed inspection prior to providing me with information or pricing on an extended warranty. I said thank you and left his office. He could have told me he didn t have time or wasn t interested in selling me an extended warranty. Then I went to service and waited on my truck. One hour and twenty minutes my truck was ready. I was told the oil was changed, inspection complete, tires rotated and oil changed. The tires were marked by me and never rotated. I explained to the service tech the same thing happened last time and they had to take it back to rotate the tires and never reset the sensors. I explained I would take my truck to Discount to get the tires rotated so I knew it was done right. I went to leave and the lock to the rims was out of the glovebox and on the console, giving the perception they had used it when they never did. I went back in and voiced my displeasure with the service department. Now I wonder if they just give the perception they change the oil but don t. Do they just take the vehicles to the back, do nothing but wash them and bring them back after a long wait. I will never trust them with my vehicle. If they can prove in two visits they will not provide the service you are paying for, then they can t be trusted for other oil changes or major work! Don t trust Big Star with your vehicle!!!

He could have checked before he replied.. no . Then when we presented the coupon he seemed to have a attitude about it.. they need to do better... the service rep that we dealt with previously is no longer there and I see why.. will not be going back will go to another GMC dealership for my service...

I was looking on Facebook at some GMC vehicles from Big Star Buick/GMC. One of the 2024 GMC Canyons caught my eye. After looking over the vehicle on the Facebook Ad. It had exactly what I wanted/needing in a mid-size vehicle. Later that day, one of the sales person contacted me by phone. It was about the 2024 Canyon that I had been reviewing. The person that contacted me ending up being my sales person. His name was Wesley. (Great Sales Person!) He went over as much information by phone as possible but recommended an appointment to actually get more information and also test drive the vehicle. Once I arrived at the dealership the rest is history. The Canyon was amazing to drive. The flow of making a deal, to signing the purchase documents went smoothly. I recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a Buick/GMC vehicle.

The only way they would be able to honor price was if I used their bank. Disappointing Experience: Unfulfilled Promises and Lack of Accountability I recently purchased a car from [Big Star Buick] and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Initially, I was assured that I would receive a second key fob as part of the deal. However, when it came time to fulfill this promise, the dealer backed out, citing issues with paying off my previous car loan. Not only did they fail to deliver on their commitment, but they also demonstrated a lack of accountability for their actions. Its unacceptable to make promises to customers and then conveniently backtrack when its time to fulfill them. This experience has left me feeling deceived and disappointed. I urge potential customers to proceed with caution when dealing with [Big Star Buick] and to ensure that all promises are documented and upheld before finalizing any transactions.

Another update: TLDR: This service department has to be the worst Ive ever experienced. Update: 3/17/23. Scheduled online service. Showed up a few minutes early and waited to be helped. Dont wait very long before Im seen, they verify the service scheduled, and promptly take the truck to be checked in. The gentleman reminds me I have one more service available and I even get a text from him later saying to contact him if I need anything. About an hour and 15ish minutes later the young woman politely ask for a few signatures and hands the keys back. Experience with the service department was much better than my last visit. Previous review: Service department is trash (specifically front desk personnel). Scheduled an appointment for 1:00 for a truck bed installation. Was told I could not be seen because employees were putting place mats in new vehicles. After making sure I understood they were prioritizing place mats for new vehicles over scheduled appointments, I expressed my frustration with no response. They even seemed happy I asked for a refund. Though Im sure nothing will be done and no disciplinary action will be taken, I know the high levels of incompetence will continue to plague customers there. I feel sorry for the gentleman with glasses for having to call those people coworkers.

My wife upgraded from our old vehicles into two new 2024 vehicles and we seriously couldn t be happier. Our salesman was Alex Rivera and he made the ENTIRE process so much easier with getting us the best deal possible and making it quick and comfortable throughout it all! We went to an autonation and they never saw us and told to sit down and just had us waiting for almost an hour but as soon as we got out of our vehicles at Big Star, Alex welcomed us and started the entire process of helping us. Seriously THE BEST ONE ON THE TEAM! He was knowledgeable, courteous, and patient when it came to answering all of our questions and allowing us to test drive multiple vehicles. I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle here. I purchased a used GMC Denali, and the truck lasted less than 10,000 miles and sat in my driveway broke down for over 6 months before my attorney told me to give the truck back to the bank. The vehicle had the whole fuel system destroyed before I purchased the vehicle. The dealership accused me of putting gas in a diesel truck. USAA cleared me of doing this after getting the fuel lab results back, reporting that no bad fuel or gas was detected in the fuel sample that was sent to the lab. The dealership did a patch job repair to clear the engine light before selling the vehicle to me. This repair was never disclosed during the sale. I found out exactly what happened after having the vehicle towed to two mechanic shops, and they both told me the same thing. The fuel pump destroyed itself, and the fuel system was previously damaged. The repair cost estimate was over 18,000 dollars. I filled a complaint with the state of Texas attorney general and filled a lawsuit. I will probably never win due to the dealership being too powerful. My credit will be destroyed for at least 7 years because of this. I will never purchase a GMC or Chevrolet product for the rest of my life.

This is the first time I am so disappointed with Big star. We took our vehicle to get it tuned up, since it was already due. Not because we had issues with it but after 147,000 miles. We thought it was time. We have always taken our vehicles there for oil changes never had issues. So we figured lets take it to a dealership, make sure job gets done by a professional. However it was a disaster. We paid $800dlls to get it done. We started having issues after it got done. Check engine light came on it was misfiring and shaking. We took it back and they said something was not cleaned properly and supposedly they fixed it. Picked it up and adter driving it for about 5 miles it started again. My husband took it to autozone to get it tested they said a spark plug or coil cylinder.We took it back to the advisor Mr. Mora he told them what the auto zone person said when they checked, he called us telling us it was nothing to do with the tune up it was the transmission. My husband told him no we will just take it somewhere else and get a second opinion. I told the advisor we have never had issues with the transmission,. We did just that took it to someone else and it was exactly what autozone had said it was spark plug was misfiring. It was changed now we have not had any issues with it. All this money we spent and they couldn t dix the issue we had to spend more money to get someone else to fix what should have been fixed by the dealership first time. Im thinking about taking my vehicles to them again.

Went to get a quote for replacing my rear brake light on my GMC that was out. I was quoted a little over $1k to replace. Seems predatory considering we ended up ordering the light online, getting it the next day and took 4 min to install for $72.99. I understand it s business and people need to make a living but 4 min of labor and a light for $1k is excessive. Glad we did it ourselves.

I have a lot to say about this company, Joe Mayhew (General Manager) is the real MVP of the company. As a customer who has had many problems with my 2020 GMC Sierra 3.0 liter Duramax and has had problems with other dealerships concerning this truck and its issues I got in touch with Joe. I expressed my concerns with him that Ive had this truck for years and couldnt get any help out of any other dealership amd I was exhausted and out of options. He requested I bring my truck in and leave it with them for a few weeks to pinpoint the exact problem. Joe and his team mainly the shop foreman Gomer was able to pinpoint the exact problem. The problem I was having was a wiring issue inside the insulation of the wiring on the backside of the motor, how they found this problem is beyond me but that requires a special skill and countless hours of dedication! I was super amazed and impressed with their work and their ability to finally put my mind at ease! I left the dealership purchasing an extended warranty for any further issues I might have and I recommend Joe and his team for any sales or service needs that you might have! I cant thank this dealership and its wonderful leadership enough for finally resolving my issue Ive had for years and been blown off by other dealers for. Thank you Joe and Gomer and the rest of the Big Star GMC service and staff, I hope to do business again with you guys in the future.

I would not buy the cure for cancer from any of the Big Star dealerships. I I thought this one would be different than their Dodge dealership over I45, but it is just as classless. There are a lot of family owned car dealerships in the Houston area. I recommend any of them over the Big Star group. I was looking to trade in my car and I told me they had to reach out to a outside broker because apparently my car was modded and then they never reached back out to me, they never told me anything they just ghosted me.

I can t begin to give enough reasons why you should steer away from this particular dealer. The price might be better out here, but in my case it was changed after hours of being there and finally getting to the finance department. Not to mention I was promised a policy that no one seems to know anything about. Overall my experience was very pleasant during my visit at Big Star. I had an appointment with Alex and was able to get down to business the moment I got there. I purchased a Buick in 2021 from this dealer, so, last week I decided to go back and purchase another one. The salesman came back and told me they would not honor any sale or rebates unless I used GM financing, so they wanted me to pay full sticker, in addition to unwanted dealer add-ons, which is completely unacceptable. They were completely unwilling to negotiate so I told them to give me the keys to my car back, that I would take my business elsewhere. Getting my keys returned was a whole debacle in itself. I ended up going to Sterling McCall and had red carpet treatment from the moment I entered the dealership, until the time I left. I was given all rebates and even a special dealership rebate and there wasn t a single dollar added on in ridiculous, overpriced markups. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. If you want a pleasant experience, go to Sterling McCall, if you want to be ripped off, go to Big Star.

This was just not a good experience. $4,000 added to sticker price for aftermarket s which are garbage add ons that customers don t want, and cost the dealership nothing. It s dishonest to add this on after you tell customers one price over the phone and another in person. This shows a lack of integrity. Then, once you push back on this charge. They tell you they can t take it off. Totally a lie. Then when you continue to ask questions about this $4,000 mark up, they offered to throw in a bedliner for free. Now this is after they explain to you the incredible paint protection they put on the vehicle that makes it stand up to ***fire***. So if you re expecting that you re new vehicle will be exposed to fire, even routinely, you may find the $4,000 after maket add ons to be of value. However for the other 100% of us, it s nothing but a rip off. But the offer of the free bedliner seemed generous. Only up until you look at another desk and see a list of the included after market items that you get for your $4,000 markup, and see that a spray on bedliner is included in this absurd markup. Next let s cover their extended warranties. A total rip off as they re not covered by GMC or the dealer. It s a third party. So when you wise up and decide to cancel these extended warranties; which is your right for up to 30 days, MAKE SURE that you notify the Kornerstpne company as well as the dealership, because your good friends at Big Star will mysteriously stop answering phones and emails when you want to cancel those rip off warranties. Lastly - a few other details. When I brought the truck back in to have the $4,000 bedliner put in, again a total dishonest scam, they got food and dirt all over the inside and drivers seat of my truck. They didn t clean it. They never cleaned the truck including delivery. They never offered to clean it and frankly just don t care. Lastly, another element of their dishonesty - they only gave me one key when I bought the truck. Then, the sales guys try to say they put it in a white envelope, which was not true. I ve followed up no less than 5 times and have yet to get an answer or an offer on how they can get me my key other than driving back to Baytown. Which they know I cannot and will not do. On the whole, despite people being kind enough, this has just not been a good experience and I have zero trust or confidence in the folks who represent this company. Finally, let me save Scott Kimbrough and the other managers who reply to negative reviews some time. I reached out to you for resolution, and got no response. So for other potential customers don t be misled, these managers are not there to help you, nor will they help you when the time comes. Go elsewhere.

Save your time and your money while you re at it use Vroom/Carvana/Carmax for your used car needs. I bought a used 2021 Mazda in pristine condition and within two weeks from buying it the battery needed to be completely replaced. Of course convenient enough the finance department did not want to cover the cost or help assist at all but insist I use their auto body shop. I spent my entire Thanksgiving Eve sitting at their auto service department, the only upside was the customer service I received from Andrea and her team in the Autoshop. Took my car in to get fixed after a small accident and am doing it through insurance. It s been there almost 2 months and my car still isn t fixed and waiting for parts. I called about 2 weeks after my car had been there for an update and they had never ordered parts. My insurance had been there for an adjustment but no one got each others info so when it was over no one communicated so i had to be the middle man calling back and forth between this place and my insurance. They finally put in an order for the parts and still don t have them. After calling about once a week i emailed today and told them i need to know what s going on because everytime they told me they d give me an update at the end of the day after i called and i never received one. I told them I m desperate for my car back with the amount I m spending on rentals and NOW they give me the option almost 2 months later to do aftermarket parts. I would have done that forever ago! I have spent more money on rentals (even after the one my insurance paid for) than it would have to pay for this out of pocket and i still have allegedly 1-2 more weeks waiting on just the parts to get there.

Went into this dealership with reasonable requests knowing I would be under on my trade in and willing to pay the difference on down payment. They took away over 6k in dealer discounts that were on the first offer that made the car so appealing , and were unwilling to do any negotiation on trade in value (which they jipped me 4k on according to Kelley blue book value). I wish I could give a zero. I don t even know where to begin . Buying a new vehicle is suppose to be fun . Well my experience was less than that. Don t get me wrong I love my truck , but I felt like my sale/deal was rushed. I bought a 2021 GMC sierra loaded AT4. I bought fresh off a trade in. The dealership was suppose to certify my truck and they did not. When I got my truck home I check under the hood. ALL of my fluids were almost empty including the coolant. My oil change was never done. In fact it was low on oil and black as ever. There wasn t a drop of DEF in my truck after I was told it was topped off. When I checked for my spare tire jack , it was missing . I blew up the the service department and Mangement , and as of this email , I have yet to get a phone call. If you buy pre owned please hold them accountable for everything . Once you leave the lot you on your owe. Make sure you buy the extended warranty .

Purchased a new insurance policy just to get a loaner and they still said that my insurance did not cover the loaner. I have been trying to get a loaner for six months now. I was on the loaner waiting list for a really long time. And they still would not work with me. I got plenty of loaners from various dealerships in the past, and I never had this issue before in my life. I do not have a spare vehicle to drive while my vehicle is in the shop. I have seen a few negative reviews on this dealership recently. It just seems like people dont have patience anymore. I purchased my vehicle here in 2018 from the sales floor and I have been going here for service since then. The service is still excellent as always. I had to wait a little over a week for my car to be serviced. Many people seem to forget the changes in manufacturing due to covid. So he kind be patient, talk to your service person to see if any accommodations can be made. I will continue to get my vehicle serviced here. The only thing I would implement it have the technicians either wash their hands or wear new latex gloves when working on the interior or a car. My interior is very light and there were black marks on my roof. Joe took care of this and had it detailed immediately. He has filled Hectors shoes well. Keep it up Joe ! Updating my review for my recent service. As always my experience is great. I have nothing but good things to say about Joe. It would be nice if all customers were nice and patient with the staff.

We purchased a 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate on Tuesday, September 5th. Less than 24 hours later, the check engine light came on. We called Big Star Service department and we re given an appointment to come in on Thursday 9/7 at 1:00 PM. On Friday afternoon, my husband called for an update. We ere of the understanding that running a diagnostic is not time consuming. Joe in the service department was very abrupt when talking to my husband. He essentially hung up after giving no update other than best I can do is Monday . I m not sure why Big Star schedules service appointments days ahead of when they might actually look at the vehicle. I spoke to Andrea on Saturday and she committed to having a technician look at first thing Monday morning. We waited until 12:30 to call. Let me start at the beginning. We brought in our car 1 month ago on 6/20/23 to have a list of things we wanted to have checked out. Tim was our advisor. He said it should be a couple weeks given the list we gave him. One of the things to check was the A/C. Now let me tell you that prior to bringing the car in there was some liquid that was spilled on the A/C-radio control panel so that was not working. So there was no way to control the A/C at all. Tim said that part was discontinued through Buick. He said to Austin Radio and Speedometer downtown to have the A/C/Radio control head control panel cleaned and repaired. We called that place and they said since the spill was done 2 months ago that the whole panel needed to be replaced and that is what we did all in the same day of picking up our car today 7/20/23. We got the control panel part and had it installed and everything comes on but the A/C IS NOT BLOWING COLD! Now on the invoice it says 3.5 hours of labor to replace the condenser and evac, dye check and charged the system. Total labor and parts $577.50. It even says test drove to confirm repair on the invoice Job 12 on page 3 and 4. Yes I know you cant tell if its working if the control panel is not working but why say its fixed when you cant turn it on to begin with?? So my point being is that we were told it was fixed and charged for a fixed and working A/C and it is NOT WORKING. It blows only hot air! Joe the service manager, when we came back the 2nd time said that how can we fix the A/C if you cant turn it on? Also he even told me why are you rolling your eyes? We just spent $6148.67 there and took it there because we were under the impression that the service department that is supposed to have CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS and have most of the parts there plus the car was purchased there before it became BigStar. When we got the car back the inside had black marks on the inside door panel, some brown dried up liquid on the dash and driver door and dusty on inside. There was still plastic stuck to outside door and roof as well. I am very disappointed in the service and the way I was treated. I was also told by Joe that anything else that needed to be done to the A/C I would have to come out of pocket for. I was never called and asked if i wanted the leaking condenser fixed. I only told Tim I wanted the A/C working. If the A/C couldnt be fixed while the controls were not working then why attempt to fix the A/C without first the controls working??? Also Tim promised us for 2 weeks that it would be done in 1 or 2 days that it would be ready when obviously he had no time table on when it would be fixed and it still is not fixed for what I brought it in for. I am asking for a refund of the $577.50 so I can take my car and get the job done the correct way. THIS WAS THE EMAIL SENT TO THE GM AND GM IN DETROIT.

Service is alway great when I have to get my truck serviced. They always keep you appraised of what is going on. I especially like how they send the video on what they are recommending on what needs to be changed and inform you why it needs to be changed.

Duran went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with my purchase. I stopped by the dealership just to see the interior of one I was thinking of buying at another dealership. Because of his attention and going put of his way to help, I decided to buy from him. Thank you Duran. You remind me of me when I was selling those trucks back in 2015. You will definitely be getting a call from friends and family when they see Mufasa (thats what I named the truck)

One star is far too generous. Bought a 2023 Palisade off the used lot. Was required to make appointment days ahead for my first service, which they forced upon me when I bought the vehicle. Jeffery told me multiple times that I should go to Big Star Hyundai (in Clear Lake) for future service. They did not have a filter on hand, even though they knew I was coming, and then ordered the wrong one. It took me 3 hours for an oil change, tire rotation and car wash. Very disrespectful and unprofessional experience.

Scheduled my first oil change after purchasing my car. I caught a train taking my kids to school so I was almost 20 minutes late. No problem though, still did the change and a car wash within 40 minutes. Fastest I ve been in and out of service at a dealership. They also cleaned the inside of my front windows, I ve never been able to see out them better! lol.
