Top notch food and always a treat to eat! Today my veteran parents were denied veteran friendly service. I ve visited with my veteran buddies and witnessed veteran friendly service and discount for their entire family. My parents were denied both. Whether the discrimination be based on the sex, race, age, or accessibility I cannot say. What I can say is this was not the first time experience I wished for them and am disheartened by their experience.

I got the chopped bbq sandwich and It was even better than Buccees bbq sandwiches. Their bbq sauce is some of the best I ve tried. As far as the sides my favorite has to be the boudin rice. Super nice staff place was clean with lots of options.

Been going here through the years before it switched over, I believe you would enjoy the food experience, I do usually get a big chopped beef sandwich with pickles and onions, they have plate lunches and a variety of choice, I got some steamed cabbage and turkey dressing and a piece of sausage, Texas sweet tea Parking: places to park all around the building

The stuffed chicken is amazing, stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon seasoned just right. Brisket was good , very tender with a nice smoke ring. Mac and cheese was good. The two guys working were super friendly and helpful. I probably would not have picked the stuffed chicken if it wasnt suggested. Great service with even better food! The kind of place you will keep going back to!

This is a great spot for quick bbq fix. The staff is super nice and friendly. Unfortunately for me it didn t meat the criteria of great bbq spot. Brisket was good but the ribs were too chewy and super fatty. They do have a great selection of sausage for purchase in their meat market section plus some selection on the dine-in side.

Been wanting to try this meat market for a while and finally got around to it today. They close a bit early (6:30) so if you re wanting to catch dinner plan accordingly. We went for a late lunch and it was dead. By the time we left it was pretty busy with dine in orders and also to go orders. When you first enter you re greeted by large case of meats to buy ranging from sausages, bacon, filets, stuffed pork chops and more. At the end of the line is the ready to eat food. Pretty basic menu, 1-3 meats, specialty meats including bacon wrapped chicken breast stuffed with boudin, bacon wrapped jalapeños, cheddar boudin and some different types of sausages. We got 2 2 meat trays with some sides. Meats we tried were spicy boudin link, cheddar boudin ball and regular boudin ball (massive!), Reo Sausage (jalapeño & cheddar, so freaking food) and bacon wrapped boudin stuffed chicken breast. Sides were dressing (very good!), Mac and cheese (could be creamier), pinto beans, mashed potatoes. By far the best side was the dressing, and they even some of their brisket gravy on top, let s go!! By the our favorite meat was the Reo sausage! Creamy from the cheese with a little kick and crunch from the skin, was so good! The other meats were fine, not as flavorful and on the dry side. I would come back for that sausage and a side of the dressing! If you re around and looking for some good meats give them a try. Plenty of options to take home as well.

Called in an order and came in from the hospital. First time there but really wanted soft tender food because I have a tooth ache but need food with meds. Someone actuality came in and took my order and they were sold out of beef tips but the man was very sweet and apologized and he was helpful with picking what would be easiest for me to eat. He even gave me an extra plate of chicken that he cut off the bone for me then didnt charge me for anything. After the day Ive had his kindness had me in tears and the food was excellent and perfectly done. Ill definitely be back. Thank you so much

Tried this place for the first time. Got sliced bbq brisket sandwich. Took a while to take my order. Sandwich was so big and very delicious! BBQ sauce was also good. I do not recommend the macoroni it was so plain and bland, most of the sides looked bland. And for $4 for such a small amount that was not even tasty. Tried buttermilk pie it was pretty good. Hay love your food and FYI there was a 4 foot gator that I think cradle out of that gully or ditch in front of your business tonight. On my way home from work there was a couple of ladies that seen it and didnt want it to get hit. So long story short I chucked it back in the gully NO CAP, thats what the kids say now for no lie. If you have a camara facing the front of you store and the street youll see this go down at about midnight or midnight 30ish. Ill come by first thing in the morning to tell you more because you may want to call animal control or something.

The 4.6 star rating is what brought my husband and I to this place but the food is what makes us never want to go back. I had the BBQ baked potatoe and the brisket tasted like it was from a can, absolutely horrid. My husband had the chicken and boudin, the chicken was at least a few days old and the boudin had no flavor and was undercooked. On the way out we passed by all the fresh meat cuts and they were all discolored and old, which makes me wonder how old and nasty the meat is that they are cooking and selling. Would not recommend to anyone. The only upside was that the employees were very friendly.

The 4.7 rating is not accurate! I had high hopes after seeing the 4.7 stars but was very disappointed. I had the brisket and ribs that weren t fresh off the pit. This is quite a quaint little meat market very well kept and clean with a very friendly staff. With that stated, this review is over the meal that I had which consisted of a chopped beef sandwich with a side of chicken dressing. Im not a big fan of the prechopped beef in the steam table, it gets mushy and changes flavors. In my experience with BBQ, freshly chopped beef with the sauce on the side is the best way to showcase your brisket especially if its been smoked. The chicken dressing was a bit salty and overcooked for my palate. Makes me wish that I shouldve tried the enchilada casserole.

This place has good service and friendly people...the thing I dont like is that the employees dont wear food service gloves. They touch the raw meat m poultry with their hands, but they do use food service gloves when they fix prepared food to go.

Has had some recent upgrades, looks more sanitary now. The staff is very friendly and the bbq is good. The chopped beef is by far their best item, followed closey by the burger. A little pricey, 13 bucks a plate. But its good, home cooking.
