I came in today to ask where I can see a good view of the city of Austin. When I entered, a lady noticed me right away and asked what I needed. I answered and she replied in a very professional and friendly manner, telling me everything i need to know. I could tell she knew what she was talking about and used her own experience to answer. Thank you.

There is no place to obviously park. Mostly, foot traffic from people who go to the location to meet the driving/vehicle tours. The location is away from the downtown hub of activities. In February 2025, they will move to a more central downtown location. Closes at 5pm. The only local after-hours daily event to do is the Original Austin Ghost Tours, which, unlike the vehicle Tours, start at the Driskill.

This reserved seating live productions was a treat. The cast was incredible and performed Saturday Night Live type skits. These skits often interacted with not only members of the audience but also with the general public through a glass window that doubles as the back of the stage. The cast sang, performed spoofs on current affairs, and on the evening we attended, there was also an amazing magician. I look forward to attending again in the near future!

This visitor center really pushes the paid organized tours, and there wasnt as much information as I expected to help plan our DIY tour. Pamphlets available were mainly about the tours they were selling.. I had to get additional info from other resources like my hotel, Capitol Visitors Center, and Google. We almost booked a Duck Tour but it was sold out for the day; I recommend buying tickets online in advance anyway. We ended up seeing so many of the main sights on our own, we didnt need a paid tour after all. Nice gift shop.

March 2024 The Austin Visitor Center was much cooler than I thought. I never step foot on here where I heard music and entered this place. Candace Bellamy was performing in front of tourists. There was a big store with Austin related merchandise and trinkets. It was fun to browse around and they also have restrooms too. The staff working here are very friendly and helpful. Anyone visiting Austin must come and check this place out.
