It was absolutely amazing! Well worth the wait because good things take time and we were warned about the wait time which honestly wasn t too bad considering the chef is only one person cooking these amazing meals! The portion was absolutely perfect! The food tasted so fresh and filled with more than enough of the other ingredients! Not skimpy at all and I ll be happy to spend my money here again. I ordered the chicken plate with plantains and the beef stir fry

Id have to say this is the best food truck and the food is the best Ive ever eaten!! The food is the perfect level of spice! And dont get me started on the secret sauce.. oml its amazing 20 stars if possible! The owner is absolutely hard working, yes the wait time is a little long, but good food should take time to make because this chief makes his food with love! Hope this gem never leaves the city of austin but only expands his business cause its definitely deserved! I ordered the ceviche and lomo Saltado plate and a Mexican cola.

The reviews are saying the truth! Best ceviche weve had and David, the owner, is an amazing human being. Please be patient when you order since he is the one preparing all the orders by himself and it takes a while. Cant wait to be back and try more authentic peruvian food, he really makes the effort and puts passion into it! :)

The chaufa is always seasoned so well and has a perfect spice level for me even though I eat extremely spicy. Out of all the places I ve been to with plantains, these are best fried plantains i ve had. They re not even slightly greasy or soggy. The side sauce is amazing and not too overpowering, the rice is perfectly cooked, and he does not skimp out on the chicken!

We were told that it would take 20 minutes but we waited over an hour for a small order. It felt much longer under the heat and we were bitten by the mosquitos. Other people seemed to have the same problem. The owner also had bad attitude towards the customers. We wouldnt come back.

Best Peruvian food I ve had since I moved from Houston. The food is fresh, the flavors amazing, and the service exceptional! There is a bit of a wait but you are getting quality ingredients and freshly cooked food, worth every second we had to wait. I highly recommend it- is definitely now one of our favorite spots! We had ceviche (to die for), lomo saltado (to kill for), and arroz chaufa (amazing)!

I ve never left a review. I ve eaten here many times, the food is delicious but I ve come to expect a long wait time. The last time I was here, I placed an order, was asked to leave my phone number and did. I went to run an errand in the area and came back and was given an earful by the owner. I was within 1 minute of the restaurant the entire time and hadn t gotten a text. The next time I was there, I was told it was a 30 minute wait time. It took 2 and a half hours, and he was preparing other orders before mine while I sat there (because I d been told not to leave) and lost my evening, and kept saying it was coming soon. Disorganized, unclean, and not worth the amount he charges.

BEST CEVICHE I ever had! It may look small but it was packed with fish in there. The corn, plantain chips, and all the items in there add such a great texture to it. I enjoyed how tart it is too. We asked for medium spice level, but it is spicy already so be warned. I also got their salchipapas which is just sausage and fries. They filled it to the brim and gave me three different sauces. I got it to go because there is a lot of mosquitoes there. The chef was nice and he had bug sprays available for us to use.

This place has wonderful food for good prices and generous portions! The ceviche was amazzziiing. Pro-tip, head over to salsa Limon while you wait and grab a To-go margarita. Dont go to this place unless you are down to go with the flow that night and arent on a time crunch. Save this place for a night you dont have anything else going on and are cool with having a little walk around on guad while you wait. Youve been warned! Dont give this place a bad review for being slow! This is one guy doing his thing, setting his own hours, and making sure everything is cooked to perfection. Im happy for him and thankful for all the work he puts into the food:) and hes always so kind no matter how busy he is!

I m sorry to say that this place is not the same. When I came here pre-pandemic, he was serving authentic, Peruvian food that was delicious. Now he s serving over-salted basic chicken and beef stir fries that are seemingly only seasoned with soy sauce. The ceviche is also not the same, and is also overly salted. The food doesn t come with yucca anymore, it comes with unseasoned fries. The traditional and tasty yellow sauce was replaced by an okay sauce that helps the dishes be not as bad. And if you come here now, you will get dishes that taste bad and are overpriced. As much as it pains me to say it, this is not Peruvian food anymore. On top of that, we were told it would take 20 minutes, which seemed excessive for a food truck. It ended up taking 40 minutes for our food to be ready, and we were the first to order at opening.

Really, really slow. I ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer. It took just under 2.5 hours. Not worth it. But hey had some time to write a review. Absolutely do not come on anything but an off night, and even consider ordering multiples of just one dish instead of different dishes. It s NOT because it s especially busy. He completed 4-5 orders in the entire time we were there. We were told 20 minutes at first, then after 45 minutes, we were told another 20 minutes. After 1.5 hours, he was making it right now . It s just one person trying to do everything, poor guy. He cooks in bursts, he makes some dishes right away and others later, he stops to chat, he can t keep track of who has been waiting how long for what. He opens at 6 so it s hard to come at an off-time, there s almost always gonna be massive delays. If you see the reviews and have FOMO, come check it out, but don t come hungry, and be aware that sadly, 80% of the time it won t be worth it.

What an absolute gem! The ceviche, Peruvian style, was like no ceviche I ve ever had before. I loved the Peruvian twist, including the toasted choclo. The cook was humble and kind. There s an outdoor picnic table and another small table with three chairs. The beef stirfry was incredibly flavorful and moist, it tasted like fillet mignon. They used beef tenderloin. It s called the Lomo Saltado. Next time I m having the Arroz Chaufa. I do wish they would try to fit another small picnic table out there.

The food is very good, but the service is way too slow. There was only one person working the cart on a sort of busy Friday night and it took more than an hour to get one Lomo Saltado and one Ceviche. One man taking all orders and doing all the cooking is too much work for one person, and he honestly spent too much time chatting with people. He was even turning away some orders because he was so behind. Also, we really shouldn t be using styrofoam takeout containers anymore - not only is it terrible for the environment, but more and more research shows it s bad for human health, particularly when the chemicals (styrene) are heated, leeching into your food.

I love this place. Some of the best food in Austin. The sauce is A+. I ve gotten the beef and broccoli, plantains, fried rice and chicken stir fry. All have never disappointed. You will have to wait but get over it because Ceviche is ran by one person. Which is even cooler if you ask me!

Sooooooooooo soooooooo soooooo good. Prepare to have your taste buds explode. My favorite is the Lomo Saltado sandwich. Fries are perfect. Sauce is perfectly spicy. Anytime I m in town this is my first stop. There may be a wait. Order ahead of time if you can t spare 15-20 minutes for a freshly prepared divine meal.

If you re ready to wait for your food then this is actually real food. If he says ready 15 min expect 55 min. 2021 has gotten too expensive though, more than $14 for a Lomo Saltado, that s more than a 45% increase in two years - that s hardly motivated by our 6-7% inflation. At $14+ I m not going here as often anymore.

Easily the best food truck in Austin. Heres the thing though, this isnt fast food and it isnt uncommon to have to wait 40-60 minutes for you food here, especially during rush. Chef David is a phenomenal cook but hes a one man army. I recommend calling ahead so youre not waiting outside for too long. Always worth the wait though!

The food was absolutely delicious and the chef was just so sweet and gave off great vibes!! I got the stir fried beef and each bite was a burst of flavors. It tasted savory but had a kick of lime to mane it refreshing. And the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Never tried peruvian food before but I d go back again!

Coming from Houston where we have so much variety of restaurants and wanted to try some Peruvian food in Austin. This little place is a gem. The owner cooks with enthusiasm and cares about his food and business. We ll come again. We are the ceviche and the lomo salteado. Also he has a good taste in music too with his little speaker playing music.

Food is always delicious, hot, and fresh. I always get the chicken sandwich and the portion is very generous. Order ahead or be prepared for a bit of a wait (15-25 min usually). I don t mind a wait as long as I know ahead of time, so just a warning for you. Another warning, there are mosquitoes around the truck. Last time I went, bug spray was provided, but I usually walk to the nearby drug store for a drink, wait in my car, and keep an eye on the truck. My boyfriend doesn t get bitten, but I usually do. Either way, service is great, and food is incredible, so I don t mind a wait. Truly, this guy should open a brick and mortar or another food truck, because this one kills it.

The best ceviche!! We absolutely loved it when we used to frequent David s first food truck back in 2016. We moved away for a little while and haven t really been back since (our fault), but we just returned to find it just as good as we remembered it. Absolutely amazing. You can t really go wrong with anything on the menu. It s all delicious. David even remembered our dogs name even though we haven t seen him in 5 years!

Absolutely amazing food all three times that Ive been here. Always see several people coming back as regulars. My only complaint is that the wait time is usually pretty long because this place is so popular and its only one person handling all the business, but the food is so good that it is always worth the wait. I hope he scales up soon!

This was my first time trying Peruvian cuisine and I could not have made a better decision to pick this place as my first :) The owner is super nice and tries to get your order out as soon as he can. I definitely recommend this place, but I also recommend being patient with the owner. Make an order, but expect to return a later (when its busy) since demand is high and food preparation can take a little bit. Definitely a gem in Austin!
