Great running, hiking, walking trail. Has some hills & beautiful views of nature. Trail even connects to another park 4 miles away. Lots of dogs being walked & bikers on the route on weekend mornings. Toilets: Normal park restrooms, nothing special Dog-friendliness: Dogs everywhere on the trail, some are unleashed but are well behaved

Great park, but parking can be a thing, so if you can carpool you may want to. There is a playground, trails, a pool, some grills, and on Sundays there is a group that sword fights. Playground: Nice playground, lots Todo. Toilets: Not always in the best condition, but I have yet to use them and they are not working. Dog-friendliness: Very Picnic area: First come first use.b

The trail is lovely and well marked with lots of inclination and declinations. As someone who has just started running, this seemed like a perfect track for me. Lots of trees along the trail which block direct sunlight while running. You might even spot a deer.

I like to walk around with my partner, dogs, kids I baby sit, etc. there s a lot of different trails and routes you can walk pretty easily, along with sand volleyball courts, green spaces, basketball, playground and pavilion. I ve never seen a restroom here. Often, the sand volleyball court is swarming with bugs :(

I love this neighborhood park. Its a great place for kids. The pool is a gem, and one of the few free neighborhood pools left in Austin. The trails are fun for hiking or biking, especially now that there is a path connecting to Walnut Creek Park. There is geocaching, a protected spring, drinking fountains, wildflowers, basketball courts, and a playground. The surrounding neighborhoods take great care of this park, both by working with the City and by coming together twice a year to clean and do maintenance. Playground: The playground was replaced with new equipment in 2021, and it is appropriate for kids in a range of ages. It even has outdoor chimes and a xylophone. Picnic area: There is a new (2021) covered picnic pavilion.

Balcones Park has been getting a lot of upgrades over the last year or two, with work done to the playgrounds and pool. They look like fun and its usually full of kids. Im mostly there because of Pokemon Go - there are 5-7 nearby spins and a gym. Its always a nest of some kind and I check back regularly, but its a great place to park with some coffee, get in a bunch of spins and presents, and maybe catch something cool. Its one of my regular gaming and hiking parks and I like it. Playground: New playground stuff for younger kids. It looks great. Toilets: It does have restrooms but they arent great. Bathrooms of desperation? A lot of kids use the park and without constant cleaning it isnt going to be very clean, but when you have to go you have someplace to do it. Dog-friendliness: Theres always dogs out playing with people here. When I get a dog Ill bring it here. Picnic area: Nice new tables.

I adore this park, the high slide is caged all the way up so I dont have anxiety when my 3 now 4 year old goes up, I can relax while she plays, newly remodeled, water fountain is a bit little walk but I advise to bring a water bottle because the sun makes that little walk feel like an eternity when the kids are thirsty. Shaded tables nearby the park and across the ways a volleyball sand area. Restrooms is not always open like a 50/50 chance

This is a lovely, clean park with great signage. Bonus! It is bluebonnet season and they are abundant this year. Also love that this park connects to others allowing for a nice long walk, hike, or bike ride. Most dog owners are pretty respectful of the rules. Yet when I went on Sunday there were people who had their dogs off leash. All the dogs were friendly but that shouldnt be left up to chance. All of the paths were clear of fallen tree limb debris from our cold snap a few weeks ago. The lambs are still there but theyve been pushed off to the side of the trails. I noticed there were also plenty of side trails if youre feeling adventurous, or just wanna get off the hard concrete surface.
