The atmosphere on a Friday night was really good up until the bartender was suddenly being rude and refused service after only one drink ? It was very confusing since we got zero explanation and that same bartender started telling all the other bartenders to not serve me. So I got up and asked one of the other bartenders and they just said she told them not to. It was my first time in Austin and to this club so it was rather disappointing. NOTE* It was my first club of the night at 11:30 so I was practically sober.

An electric, EDM, atmosphere. As a frequent customer of GLS Dallas it was fun to visit the Austin location for the first time. One noticeable difference between the two is size. Austin is very small and tracks customers in & customers out. I have not had this issue in Dallas. The Austin dance floor is tiny but has a cute rooftop bar that overlooks the street. It is one of the best places to dance on West 6th. Great drinks too!

**** BEST PLACE TO GET BEAT UP IN AUSTIN **** BY AGGRESSIVE BOUNCERS **** First off, plenty of better places with better tasting/priced drinks and more importantly, kinder staff, specifically the bouncers. This seems to be the theme on all these reviews so Ill add what I saw. They definitely look for excuses to be aggressive toward customers. Strangely, they take orders from the lead old white dude instead of acting independently. The younger bouncers were alright until the old guy said jump, then they jump. Watched them shove drunk kids trying to go back for something they left inside after another kid in his party was escorted out for falling asleep inside. We left around this time and while waiting for our ride, cops showed up after they poured a drink on a girl who was drinking on the stairs. I can only imagine what else happened while we were inside for the small amount of time we spent here. If youre younger and planning to be drinking enough to need an uber home please SKIP this place as these bouncers are dangerous and truly look for an excuse. Safe safe and note to owner: please change the culture within your bouncers. It is shameful.

Bouncers are mad aggressive especially toward females. If you are wanting to drink your drink before exit I would do it upstairs in private because I witnessed a younger Hispanic woman physically have her drink poured out of her hand (by 2 men, a white balding male, and a Hispanic/islander male with hair in a ponytail/slick back) onto her because her party departed before her as he finished her drink on the steps. Luckily I was not in her party and with all males. Her brothers with her were furious. If that was my sister I would have punched the dude that spilled the drink on her if that was my wife or siblings. How disrespectful.

Bouncers working Saturday 12/16 had a no foreigners policy. My friend who is visiting from abroad was denied for no other reason than having foreign IDs. We did not have this issue at any other bars in Austin. I find it odd that an Austin bar would have such xenophobic and racist door policies. If you re foreign, don t bother coming here. Tried attending during their 7th year anniversary. Has a dress code that isnt advertised at the bar itself, website, etc. although many folks who the bouncer let in were very ... not fancily dressed. Seems like race, gender, etc. determines if you are welcome here, sadly. Bouncer staffed on Saturday the 27th around 10:30pm is completely unprofessional. Had a great experience about 2 hrs earlier and tried to come back but was denied due to wearing gym shorts (khaki shorts that didn t require a belt). Either total lack of knowledge from management on attire standards or a power trip from the bouncer caused the business to lose money and customers at the end of the day. Was a great bar to hangout at earlier in the night but totally uncomfortable when trying to return and dealing with these bouncers .

I got turned away because they have a policy against pants that don t have belt loops. They let in several of my white friend s who had pants without belt loops immediately before me. February 10, 2022 around 1am-2am my friend and I experienced the most horrific racism and hate from a Caucasian female bartender with a pointy beak like nose and the door guys that night. I ve never felt so much racism directly intentionally in my life. This was our first time ever going to this bar and we were excited because of the great reviews and many activities you can do in the bar. The bartender I don t know her name she refused to give it, the moment we walked in she gave the most disgusting look and said what do you want I instantly felt attacked. We told her and she crossed her arms, forcefully pushed buttons on the screen, slammed our shot glasses down, and told us the order total without looking at us in the opposite direction. I gave her a $20 for 2 shots of tequila and she said it was $18, she slammed the $2 left on the bar counter and I left it there. She let it sit she didn t even want to take my money which I should have taken back but I didn t. Tried to show love even though she was showing hate. I thought I was dreaming but I wasn t. We shrugged it off and went to the dance floor, caucasian men were cool and inviting, the caucasian women were rude, forcefully bumping into us, ugly nasty grimaces. I was so flabbergasted, the hate couldn t be ignored. I requested a song from the dj and let him know it was my birthday and he said cool, I got you initiated a fist pump. Awesome, right? No, the Dj played Meagan thee stallion for 5 seconds literally than switched back to his 2010 end playlist. I understand it s a dance club but come on your tracks suck. I was yet again flabbergasted, dishonored. The environment of this club is white women with black men. So if you know you know. Just a nasty low vibrational place and I m going to contact the owners and write a letter I ll also be contacting the news. It s black history month and the amount of hate I experienced is not going unnoticed , I expect them to be fired as the disciplinary action. This is 2022 if you have so much hate stay in the house, if this was my establishment I would not want anyone working for me who doesn t respect my mission, my business, or my customers. If I could give zero stars I would.

Love this place. The bartenders are really chill and down to earth (and also ridiculously fast at making drinks). Really cool vibes: rooftop bar with a speakeasy. The speakeasy section has a nice whiskey selection, but we only were able to get in because we knew somebody. I take all my visitors here as an intro to Austin nightlife. I really enjoy going here for UGA games. However, this is the SECOND time this bar has SCAMMED ME! Everyone should be extremely wary of using their debit/credit cards at this bar. I was charged for the original amount on my tab, WHICH I SIGNED FOR, then an additional $30. Not a big deal when it happens once, however I have left various voicemails for the manager, and never heard back. I will also be reaching out to the UGA Alumni to inform them of this. Bouncer out front, Stephen, was super nice! The speak easy in the back had a really cool vibe, and the drinks were yummy. I got bottle service for my friends and signed a receipt for $960, which INCLUDED tip, and which I still have. My credit card statement shows they charged me $1160 ($200 over), and then they charged me ANOTHER $720 for no reason at all. I had to dispute the transactions. I seriously love this place! It s location, atmosphere, staff and not to mention the drinks! My go-to used to be the spiked Capri-sun, but now I m currently obsessed with their Cherry Limeade. They have a nice wrap around patio that has an awesome view of downtown. I like that they also have a smaller bar on the patio, so we never really have trouble getting drinks quickly. The music is always something I can dance to and the staff make this place worth the 5 stars. We never miss a chance to pop into Green Light Social when we re downtown!

Got bottle service here with my group made a reservation in advance for 12 Cons Table fits more like 8max and in general was small and people from the dance floor fall into your section because the dance floor isnt that big. My biggest issue was we got there at 10 and once we didnt want another bottle at 1am (we got 3) they kicked us from the section. Typically if you make reservations its your table/section for the night as long as you spend the minimum, not here. Also they had trouble regulating the section next to us. There wasnt a reservation so random people were always sitting there for at least 20-30min in what you are supposed to pay for which made us getting removed from our section more annoying. Pros I thought the music and energy of the place was really good and staff was attentive and nice. Just wish the dance floor was a bigger.

BEST BAR IN AUSTIN, TEXAS. If you re looking for a nightclub in Austin, TX, than look no further than Green Light Social. Whether you want to hangout on the patio, enjoy dancing inside with the DJ, or have more of a intimate experience with close friends in Benny s Room you literally can have it ALL here! I love going to Green Light Social & the bartenders are AMAZING!!!

I am not a night club person. However, when in town for my bachelorette we went to Green Light Social and had a fantastic time. Out of all the bars we want to in Austin that weekend it was by far our favorite. They even had an adorable gif/photo booth! It was very crowded but they kept it well air conditioned so it wasn t to bad. If I was in Austin and wanted to go dancing, that s for sure where I would go.

Rude staff walking around and hounding people about wearing masks. However, Brent who is staff there, continued to walk around without a mask on. Upon walking in we were told to wear our mask when we were walking around, not any time we stood up by the table we were seated at. The rules and regulations need to be clearly stated upon entry and maybe again by the waitress once seated. There was no social distracting enforced so I found it ridiculous to try to be strict on masks when the masks are most effective when used in combination with social distancing. Then the door man upon exit snatched a cup of water from someone in the groups hand. I understand no open containers that contain liquor but water should be an exception and to take it from someone s hand is rude.
